Acer black screen 5542

I have an acer aspire 5542 and when I press the power button, the phone turns on but it's just a screen black someone can help?

I'm not aware of any update of the BIOS that would solve your problem with your computer displays a black screen. This usually indicates a hardware problem that needs to be repaired. If your computer does not start in the BIOS, or boots just a black screen or a black screen with a cursor, we recommend that you only contact your local support in your area for information on service options.

    I have an Acer switch and the screen went all black.  I can still see the slider and it moves when he moves, but there is nothing else.  How can I make it work again?

    Hi dcclark.

    You can now try the power button down for 5-10 seconds to get off the machine at the hard stop. The other option would be to use the battery backup button (it will be require a trombone, pushping, etc. and hold for a few seconds). This should allow you to restart normally. Looks like Windows was a blip and just started on the black screen.

  • Corrupt BIOS V5 531 Acer black screen after startup, f2 and f12 also. Repairable?

    Hello

    Yesterday I tried to install Win 7 if I could play D & D Neverwinter on Arc after using * nix systems study (looking to start a career as an administrator). I had plugged into a power strip that was, unbeknownst to me, turned off and I went to make coffee and watch some news. When I came back to check the progress of my laptop was powered off and since then I havn't been avle start without being blocked at a black screen after the start page of the bios. The f2 and f12 also leads to a black screen, I can not change the boot device or enter the bios Setup.

    Is - fixable at all? For example, is the a key-combo, I can use it to restore from a backup bios? Or, do I have to bring in a technician who can install a new chip bios or flash this old some how? Or did I brick pemanently my device?

    V1.22 is what you want to be part of a unit of Windows 7.

    The problem is if it crashed during the upgrade process, it will take some special tools clearly on the chip on the MB and recharge it with a new BIOS. I would contact your local support team to see what options are available.

    Hello

    So my Acer Aspire 571 e5 which ive been using for about 3 days just had a windows update. Now, it starts well but I get a black screen when I connect. However, some programs are always able to see and popup randomly. I also tried to go into my bIOS, but it asks for a password that I don't know.

    If you press CTRL + ALT + DELETE you are able to open the Task Manager?

    or try this:

    (1) once you are on the screen of login password, press on and hold down the SHIFT key and click on the power icon (lower right corner of the screen) and restart your computer... (Remember do not type a password)
    (2) you will get advance options. Click on troubleshoot---> advanced---> start---> restart settings---> and select SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING

    (3) once in office in safe mode, open Device Manager, click on the video card, right-click on it and choose unisntall

    (4) restart and check if it works

    Hello world

    I'm completely out of my League, and I'm hoping that one of you can help me. The Acer Aspire 6530 had the black screen/no work so I thought I would format (option F10) to find this eRecovery is coming with a gray screen with 3 options:

    ---> Restore system to factory default

    ---> System Restore from the backup of the users

    ---> Output

    The only option highlight is out and I can't click on another option. My question is can I download the erecovery disk and put it in the computer or how can I make it work?  Something else, as someone may think, please.

    Unfortunately, we do not offer a version of eRecovery by download. You can try to reload the operating system with recovery disks, if you think there may be a problem with eRecovery. Recovery discs are available on http://store.acer.com, click eRecovery.

  • New Acer Switch 10 SW5-012-13TT - black screen

    Bought the Acer Sunday switch. Only used for about an hour or two. Activate programs, McAfee, Microsoft Office etc. Obtained online at my email. Suddenly he begins to become slower. then I start to wonder if I want to install all these things that seem to be extra with... something McAfee? I think that I said yes to some things that I thought were part of the program. Then he slow - disappered of things from the main screen. Then I started to notice that he had detected Trojans that McAfee would manage. This happened SEVERAL times. They have all been called Artemis! and had their own figures. Shortly after, I lost the screen. I spent some time trying to figure out what the hell. I continued to get more notice Artemis. I couldn't use charms or anything else. Also I did Ctrl alt delete and it gave me the Task Manager. There, I could see that McAfee used a huge amount of juice. For the next period of time (dunno how long - I was in a panic computer) I looked at things by their opening via Task Manager, trying to see what has increased. I continued to get Aretimis advice and opinion seemed to be out of nowhere saying they did download things that I had not agreed to download. McAfee update it's self several times. I turned it off several times to see if she needed that.

    Since that time, all I can get is orTask black screen Manager and all I can get to via the Task Manager.

    I want to like this, but I think I should just take it back to Costco.

    Can someone help me? I'd appreciate any help or ideas you have.

  • Just get black screen on Acer Aspire 7520

    I'm looking for a solution for this problem for almost 3 months now. My Aspire 7520 when tuned to just gives me a black screen. I took out the battery and held the power button down / stop and always the same. I also made sure that the fan has been free of dust and is runnig and I hear that it is trying to load, and now when I turn it off it is itself so I have to remove the battery all together.

    If you get either of the image on an external monitor, it could very well be a video card problem or a problem with the motherboard.  You should contact your local service centre Acer for assistance.

  • Acer R7-572-6423 white/black screen. Indicator of battery/blue

    Acer R7-572-6423

    Windows 8.1

    Bought April 28, 2014.

    Question:

    Now I get a black screen permanently.  When it is connected to wall battery indicator is blue, I press the power button, light to power lights up blue for 7 seconds then turns off.  Nothing happens.  Screen not being able to, can not hear fans, etc. Same question not connected to the wall.

    There was a version of the 2.04 BIOS update that fixed a problem '2.Revise system cannot start when "Exit Discard Changes" has been selected in the BIOS menu."  I think this is my problem.

    Is there any recovery method that can be done at home to get out of this State?

    Here's one video of another user with the same laptop and same problem, but he has never released a fix. https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=AJeEZO_czxw

    Another user suggests to send in the laptop to have the EPROM replaced but never said why or if it is fixed.

    Tried:

    Pinhole button to reset the system

    removed battery, hard drive

    looked for son crimped in hinge past on the screen

    Thanks for the help.

    Just updated my own post-

    Something on the motherboard is indeed stuck in a permanent off-State.  There is no solution in addition to the replacement of the motherboard together. They are more expensive because integrated cpu.

    My laptop is out of warranty for a reason any since I bought it via Acer Outlet on Amazon, even though the laptop itself had been built less than a year ago.

    Chat online support for problems would not help at all.  They are a 3rd third party vendor and do not do this things.

    Sent a request for repair of Acer. They want $399 for repair.

    It took a repairman (people super nice btw, way more useful than acer supports... I would suggest strongly local mom & pop stores if you can), they want $360.

    Don't know what I'll do yet. I think it's ridiculous to pay for a bug of software known bios that bricks your laptop, but that's just me.

    Marking this as resolved issue.

  • Acer aspire m1201 black screen

    When I start windows movies from my computer to a black screen, Ive tried the system restore, install drivers missing and non-functional. McAfee is all this so far with no problems detected. I can get on the computer by pressing f8, then go to low resolution screen and mode without failure, but not normally. It worked for a bit of roll back to a previous display adapter driver, but eventually it stopped working. I can't find anything wrong with it and uninstalled programs that we no longer use. The computer worked fine until we turned on after a weekend away! In addition, it is just out of its warranty. I went to back to factory settings, but did not get a disk of vista with it as it came pre-installed. Help!

    How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    http://support.Acer.com/

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup, Acer should be Alt + F10 to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s of the recovery Partition of hard disk or system failure crash when you're facing up and running again.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their way of doing recovery disk/s.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
  • I have an Acer Aspire One Netbook. (No DVD player). From the start on the hard drive, I get a black screen with a blinking cursor.
    I have an Acer Aspire One Netbook.  (No DVD player).  From the start on the hard drive, I get a black screen with a blinking cursor.  The cursor does not type.  For me, maybe I need to reinstall windows 7 and startup tasks are corrupt.  I have my product key genuine for the computer, but no way to get to windows.  How to restore windows on a netbook that won't start?
    original title: Netbook Windows 7 problem
    New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.
    If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.
    Borrow a 32 bit Genuine Windows 7 friends DVD disc if you know someone who has one.
    Make an image of the DVD, you can use a program like ISO Recorder to do.
    http://alexfeinman.com/
    If you don't have a Windows 7 DVD to borrow, try to upload a picture:
    32 bit
    http://MSFT-DNL.digitalrivercontent.NET/msvista/pub/X15-65732/X15-65732.ISO
    You change the content of the. ISO file and delete the ei.cfg file. After having edited burn it to a blank DVD disc or put it on a USB key. Startup, it will reveal all editions of Windows 7, select the Starter edition. More information in the following article on how to change the file ei.cfg
    Utility delete EI.cfg allows you to use a product key
    http://Lifehacker.com/#%215438005/eicfg-removal-utility-lets-you-use-any-product-key-with-your-Windows-7-disc
    You can create a bootable USB stick with the following:
    Download Windows 7 USB/DVD tool
    http://store.Microsoft.com/help/ISO-tool
    Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.
    When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer
    Click on properties
    Scroll down to the Windows Activation
    Click the link x days before activation.
    Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.
    Enter the product key (this is the key of Windows 7 Starter, which would be located on the COA sticker at the bottom of your laptop)
    Click next
    Select the Activation of the phone
    Click Next when you enter your key page
    Select your country
    Click Next, call the number listed
    Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.
    They will give a confirmation ID, enter it
    Click next to complete the activation.
    Once activation is complete, enjoy yourself, make a backup of your installation of Windows 7 Starter please? You will need to do this an external hard drive, but its worth it. Because if your installation is messed up, all you have to do is to restore from a backup.
    http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/24/how-to-backup-your-installation-of-Windows-7/
    Once the backup is complete, you can do an upgrade to Windows 7 Professional by using the product key that you have, if it's a full key, Windows 7 Professional Anytime Upgrade retail or upgrade license key.
    Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, follow the on-screen Wizard, enter the key of Windows 7 Professional on demand, click Next and restart your computer when you are prompted. Less than 10 minutes, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional and your files and settings retained.
    Reactivate the installation, you may also do it by phone:
    Activate Windows 7 manually:
    1. click on start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4
    2. press enter on your keyboard
    3. Select your country.
    4. Select the telephone activation option and brace yourself for a real person.
