Acer Diagnostic tool
Read on the subject cannot be found unless the third party. I have an AspireV5-571.
Cooling CPU fan is functioning normally intermittently depending on its temperature. There may be a build-up of dust in the portable air intake that may be causing the fan to run more often - it is also normal. You might want to try to suck the intake of air or blow into the exhaust air out some of this dust - it may be useful.
What is 5.1.4861.15 hardware diagnostic tools
If I am right, it is actually PC-doctor, Inc. Hardware Diagnostic tool which is distributed by some computer program of PC Doctor OEM manufacturers. The number seems to be a somewhat older version (possibly published with XP systems). They still do and I have versions for XP, Vista and even Windows 7. If you have upgraded your operating system, the program may or may not work more. It doesn't seem to be something that you can buy directly (and I don't think that it can be upgraded) - but your computer manufacturer might be able to say more about it.
Here is the current information on Program OEM's PC Doctor: http://www.pc-doctor.com/pcd_windows.php. I know that HP and Compaq and Acer and Fujitsu used and can still - and I saw obsolete links and now gone listed this specific version of the program on their systems - but none of their websites discuss the version even if some do not discuss the existence of a program of diagnostics of equipment and how to use it. Here is an example: If the computer is running XP so that it looks like this (unfortunately not a download link, just info): tests for hardware problems using PC-Doctor - HP Customer Care (United States - English).
I don't think that it is malware - if I'm wrong. If your manufacturer says that it was never installed on your computer, so I guess it's possible, but I found only about above it and no mention of all malware related. In any case, if it was never installed on the system by the manufacturer, then I would probably not use it and may even consider uninstalling just to be on the safe side. If it has been installed by the manufacturer, try running it to see if it provides you with hardware diagnostic information. If it crashes or fails to run if you have an operating system upgraded from the original installed OS, then it is probably not compatible and I would just uninstall it as it will be of no use and cannot be upgraded (unless the manufacturer provides one, but it is unlikely) and is just too much room.
Yet, it can't hurt to run some checks for malicious programs. Update and run a scan complete with your current AV program. Then, try the following programs if you do not, because they can help. I recommend you download, install, update and run full scans with Malwarebytes:http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and SuperAntiSpyware:http://superantispyware.com/ and then run a full scan of Microsoft Security:http://www.microsoft.com/security/default.aspx. If they are all come clean and do not show this as a problem, then I would say it is more likely is not malware and don't worry in this regard.
I hope this helps.
I have a satellite M30, and the 'PC Diagnostic tool' utility does not work (nothing happens when I click on the program). I have windows XP service pack 1.
I uninstalled and downloaded a new site of toshiba, but it still does not work.
Nobody knows why and how I can solve this problem.
Thanks in advance for any response.
And HAPPY NEW YEAR
How do you start the PC Diagnostic tool? Start - PROGRAMS-... or with a shortcut on the desktop?
Check the shortcut of your link? Click with the right button of the mouse on it, go to properties and check the location of the main file.
Also, you should check in the C:\programs addressing Explorer PC diagnostics is installed! If you foud it try to start from this destination!
Try and keep me posted!
Diagnostic tool memory detected in my laptop hardware problems. Now I don't know what part of the hardware's fault.
Whenever I start my laptop after shoutting it down for some time, it appears failed early and repair takes place and start using the system restore that will come back at some point.
Is that what this has to do anything with overheating?
Please help me immediately
> Diagnostic memory tool detected hardware problems in my laptop. Now I don't know what part of the hardware's fault.
I would assume memory one or two failures of modules.
I recommend you to check them both.
Remove a module and try to use the laptop with a connected module.
Then another module test. Make it as different memory locations.
If two modules are corrupt, then you will need to replace both.
When I try to run the utility Toshiba pcdiag.exe I get an error message.
The details of this message say that the 'fault Module name is KERNEL32.dll.
I uninstalled the utility programs original and downloaded the files updated on the Toshiba site, with the same result - I always get an error message.
This fix is there for that?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
Are you using Vista or Win XP OS?
I checked the page European driver of Toshiba and the PC Diagnostic tool has been published only for Win XP.
I think that might have something to do with your Windows operating system installed.
All first as you should check if the PC Diagnostic tool is compatible with your operating system and secondly, you must update the OS before install you this tool.
I was looking for a software to monitor and control the fans in my X 205. I have an overheating problem when the games. The vents are clear, and I opened the case and he cleaned. The ventilation openings are not blocked. This problem occurred recently. I assumed it was a problem with XP get corrupted, so I reinstalled XP Pro. This did not help. The fan itself works, as I ran it on 5 volts when I opened the file. No problems. He justy lights when the GPU gets hot (75 degrees Celsius).
A laptop forum referred me to this site and said: I'm looking for a utility called 'Cooling Performance Diagnostic tool', but I can't find anything.
Anyone know where I can download this utility? I need to monitor and control these fans. I reinstalled the drivers from the Toshiba site and system Toshiba Utilities, but the fan does not seem to be controlled.
Anyone got any opinions on this one?
See you soon,.
As far as I know these tools does not exist.
Maybe someone told you to check in Toshiba power saver settings for cooling method option.
In any case, I assume you have the laptop model US so I have to redirect you once again. ;)
Check Toshiba support page under http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_modSel.jsp US and look for information on all available tools and utilities.
You can also visit the forum there, and chat with people who have models of laptop computers in the United States.
On this page we are discussing in most cases on the European models and the support of Europe.
Recently, I noticed that my pc guards came and said I had a virus, I did a full scan and it said: I had some viruses, two were in the files and I deleted them, they were related to my norton files because my norton was obsolete, since I installed norton antivirus and it does not pick up my problem.
On my desk in my toshiba in my diagnostic tool files, one of the files has the virus as my bodyguard of the pc tells me that I opened the page, it's in my files\toshiba\pc cd rom file test.exe diag program don't know if I can delete it will do damage?
If I can't return the file somehow?
I think I deleted the file just above her too, as he had the same problem, and cannot test that now that there is no file, help needed please, what would u?
Usually, you can use the System Restore tool to roll back the OS to the beginning.
But you should always update the antivirus applications as an anti-virus software that are not updated will not help you remove all viruses and will not protect against any virus attack.
I recommend using additional programs like adware and antispy.
I ran the Diagnostic PC tool and I got the error in 'Network' and reported as FAILURE.
I don't know how to fix or diagnose the problem.
It is with the network driver?
What's the problem exactly?
Is there a specific reason to use the PC Diagnostic tool?
Problems with LAN or WLAn?
I need to run a diagnostic on a Qosmio F10
I downloaded the tool on the Qosmio F10 download page, but it will not be installed.
Are there instructions on the use of the diagnostic tool?
see you soon
You should try to remove the previous version of your knees, and then restart. Then again install the downloaded one. There's no other special instructions how to install it.
When I select "Tools of diagnosis", since the programs/Toshiba/Utilities all what is supposed to happen? I get a circle turning in circles, but never the full screen charge and/or appears.
Is this normal or should I see a screen that says something like, everything is good and there are no problems? Thank you...
Good explanation here what the diagnostic tool is > http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ5C018S000ER01.htm
+ The key Assist from Toshiba offers easy access to the Diagnostic tool +.

I just installed Windows 7 on my laptop A300-17. Everything went very well and I installed all the drivers including PPV but something is worng with the 'pc diagnostic tool', the 'basic information' tab I get all the information corectly but when I go to the tab "diagnotsic tool", it's all the empy, I can't give it a try, just an empty page.
What could be worng?
Thank you very much :)
p.s the windows is in English and Hebrew, not if it's important.
I even checked the site Web of Toshiba Satellite A300 and Windows 7. It seems that PC diagnostic tool is only available for Windows XP. I can t he find for Vista and Windows 7.
I think that's the reason. You must download VAP now that it contains.
I recently had some problems with my Satellite A200 laptop computer screen freezes, do not restart correctly after hibernation and battery warnings displayed even if it is still plugged into the mains to low. When I get battery it will eventually die. I jumped the battery - put new - turned the laptop on - and the battery is at full capacity! Anyway, I've updated the BIOS and I tried to run the diagnostic tool to see if it no problem. Problem is there is that anything posted in the Diagnostics tab to test!
Any help would be much appreciated.
Toshiba PC Diagnostic tool is part of the package of added value, so you can try to reinstall VAP.
You can find on Toshiba support and download page.
Remove pre-installed VAP, restart your computer and install the latest version of the Toshiba page.
Pavilion p6010in Desktop for 3 years using (product number: NC875AA #ACJ), for a few months, I hear the ticking in my hard drive, I suspect that it is its failure of hard drive, but my diagnostic tool (SMART) explains his good health.
Sound indicates a problem. I also use Ubuntu 12.04 with vista (even ubuntu says that the disc is in good health).
I'm confused why the sound is similar to a click of death as seen in the link (my hard drive Seagate Barracuda 500 GB) below
Please tell me what I should do now. I also Plan to upgrade to Windows 8 (I won't use Ubuntu anymore).
I suggest you replace your hard drive before the upgrade to avoid all these problems. The new hard drive should be the same size or larger that one you have for the recovery discs to work properly. Install Windows 8 on the new hard drive.
Once Windows 8 has been installed successfully make a new set of recovery disc for Windows 8 so that if everything fails, you can the recovery disc restores on Windows 8.
