Acquisition of analog and video synchronized

Hello experts tiara,.

I am curious about this example Diadem DAC:

http://zone.NI.com/reference/en-XX/help/370858M-01/explonl/explonl/explonl_dac_video/

He claims to be able to acquire analog and video synchronized.  Anyone can determine how to properly synchronize these two data flows are?  Because it is a desk, probably Windows machine and no trigger material between video and analog devices, I'm guessing that the two are, at best, on +-1 second.

Can anyone solve this problem?  I see in the manual use tiara (here) that NEITHER has done some work in order to study how the clocks are accurate in Diadem.  And they even mention a few points of 100 msec.  But I don't really trust this number when it comes to acquiring analog and video data simultaneously.

Thank you, John

Hi John,.

You ask an interesting question, and I had contact with the developer of R & D responsible for this service and received an explanation on his part on the works of this feature.

The target application for this specific feature is not for use cases where the exact synchronization between the measurement and data acquisition are required (i.e. a crash test of vehicles with more than 1000 frames / second video recording). This feature is implemented for users who wish to have the possibility to use webcams to get insight into what their machine or test do any recoding data at the same time. We should ask this 'parallel acquisition data and video' and not 'synchronous acquisition' - which suggests that it is a way to ensure that the data and the video are actually synchronized during the acquisition process. The original entered German aid system speaks 'parallel' instead of 'synchronous' acquisition, the English translation incorrectly uses the word 'synchronous' instead of 'parallel '. I contacted our documentation team to clarify this part of the help system.

Accurate synchronization to achieve, especially between multiple streams of data acquisition and a camera, the application must use frame grabber hardware - hardware specifically designed to support the capture video or image.

This is how DIAdem DAC addresses this type of application, I hope this information is helpful to you and others to this feature:

Tiara DAC is a top priority on the acquisition and the release of the data to and from data acquisition equipment. The video recording feature is less of a priority and is not controlled by tiara constantly. The video recording process is triggered as closely as possible to the data acquisition process. The current local time stamps of two triggers (data and video) is registered allows us to determine the exact time for the two signals of reading according to DIAdem, i.e. If there is a delay in the start of video recording, is considered for reading in MODE of DIAdem.

Our tests with made with a camera (not multiple, which is supported by MODE of DIAdem) and data acquisition equipment NOR (not several devices, which is also supported by DIAdem). In these tests, that we have seen the video and data were generally synchronous within some frameworks (no real 100% synchronicity) - which was quite thin which this solution based on USB low-cost camera technology was designed for. It is generally better than +/-1 second depending on the application, but also synchronized to the millisecond like material systems would be able to achieve.

There are several factors that influence the results of the tests carried out in this area of application: PC hardware (CPU, RAM, disk system), the tasks of measures, other software running on the computer chassis, the camera and the framework, software drivers, etc.. There are too many variables beyond the control of tiara that can influence the synchronicity of the acquisition of data and images based on the software only, so true synchronicity can be achieved using equipment designed for this purpose.

I hope that clarifies the DIAdem DAC functionality a little better. Thank your for having pointed out the misuse of the book 'synchronous' in the help system, going as fixed for the next release of DIAdem. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Best regards

Otmar

If you have not already the case, update 13-13.1, using Help Menu/implementation of an open project.

First of all ensure that you (manually) or project (automatically) set preset to match the properties of your

Reading the script contained in the monitor of the editing area, you should look at and listen to the content timeline made (i.e. no color

  • analog and digital data synchronization

    Hi all

I would like to help with what I seek to accomplish, if you don't mind much.

I'm trying to synchronize the acquisition of analog and digital modes using a common trigger that launches both types of data collection at the same time. What I've done so far, is wasting his time trying different combinations to gather examples of LabVIEW 2011 on the synchronization of data - namely the 'Multi-multifunction-Synch AI lu Dig Chan.vi' and 'Multi-Device Synch-Analog Input-Finite Acq-Analog Start.vi.

I tried to combine the two, because one contains digital and analog, the other contains the trigger for multiple tasks.

I guess I should place the trigger (either digital or analog-eventually I will want to choose) then call the "Get Terminal name with device Prefix.vi. But from there I'm not sure wheter to connect the name of the terminal of the sample clock digital channel or a digital leading edge of the digital chain trigger.

Also, the way it is wired now I get errors at the local terminal name, so I don't know exactly where this terminal must come from.

I try my best, I could use a little help, I have attached my attempt with the examples that I speak to you.

    Thank you.

    Hi beefcake.

The CtrInternalOutput internal output line is used as sample for your digital output sample clock source clock. If you change the settings for your CO Pulse Time is Dev1 and your digital output is Dev2, you will notice that the name of the product terminal would give Dev2/CtrInternalOutput. So what you get here, it's as well as the digital output device sees his sample clock, instead of the clock itself.

If you just want to use a digital/analog input as your trigger, you should do something more as in the example above. Do you use multiple devices, or are all your lines on the same device? This example is more complicated because it is synchronization of signals on several devices.

Looking at how this VI is wired, you can see that the digital signal triggers the analog signal. You want the analogue signal must be started first, so that when the digital signal triggers the analog task is already running and can trigger immediately. If the digital task started first, it can trigger until the similar task had started, and they do not exactly trigger at the same time.

I hope that clarifies things. Kind regards

  • Audio and video out of Sync

I capture images from video game using ShadowPlay recording at 60 fps mp4 files. When I import into first and play in the sequence, the audio and video are out of sync. When I play in VLC or Windows Media Player, the timing is perfect.

Why first plays the audio and video synchronized?

The corrections that I found online that does not solve the problem are:

-Make the video in the work area bar (it actually makes it worse for some reason any)

-Edit video in .mov file extension

-I know how to use Handbrake to make the files before import has also been suggested, but I don't want to have this extra step added to my workflow, it should not be necessary.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Also, is there no other way to get around the problem of variable frame rate?

Not if you use the GPU hardware to capture your h.264 videos, there isn't.  First can not correctly handle variable frame rate images.  And the images only you're going to get your encoder is VFR.

    You have 3 basic choices:

    (1) stop using ShadowPlay and use something else which will tax your system more to capture video in a constant frame rate format.  There are other applications that capture images CFR, generally in AVI format, and the resulting files are massive.  You will have a drop in performance in the game when you use these applications.

    (2) transcode w/parking brake to the CFR

    (3) use a different NLE.  Sony Vegas, from what I hear, will support VFR without problems.  Most other NLEs will not, including Premiere Pro.

  • Why do my audio and video start in sync, then move quickly out of sync?

I have just installed Windows 8 and have also ordered: 12 items first.

I also have Windows movie maker.

When I play my clips in Premiere Elements, they audio and video synchronized early, but quickly get out. This does not happen with Windows Movie Maker and I had tested a few videos NCH also editing software and do not have this problem.

can someone tell me what I have to do to get this working right?

    MASMAS

For troubleshooting purposes, assume that the video is characterized by a variable instead of a constant rate.

    1. download and install the free program of handbrake.

    http://handbrake.fr/

    2.

    Source

    Import your video 1280 x 720

Then, where it says "Chapter", I put for seconds

    Destination

Locate, and then set your backup location for the file to process

    Container

    MP4

    Picture tab

    Leave as is

    Video tab

    Video codec H.264 (x 264)

    Framerate (FPS) 23.976

and point next to Constant Framerate

Press start at the top right of the workspace

Wait for 'Queue finished' in the progress bar in the bottom left of the workspace.

Then determine if this H.264.mp4 file works for you in Premiere Elements project set the project preset manually set the

    NTSC

    AVCHD

    AVCHD LITE 720 p 24

This should rule in or out a possible variable rate being at the heart of the problem.

  • Acquisition of analog camera field.

I'm trying to shoot maximum performance of my analog camera. I have a capture card 1405 and the camera is monochrome RS 170 NTSC. In time real LV 2009 SP1. Unfortunately, I have to use to track movement and there is no way at this point to upgrade the hardware. I want to have the minimum image with the blur and as fast as I can get.

Until I can questions, a little intro. RS 170 transfers to each 1/60 s, the odd field (odd lines) and then after the next 1/60 s the same field. Then the framegrabber combines the two to make a complete picture frame providing 30 frames per second and so on. When the movement occurs, because of different time of acquisition, the odd and even fields are once acquired and different and the looks of photo blurred (combing effect). Someone correct me please if none of this is wrong.

Now, why not look the same and off fields and have a 60 fps at 640 x 240? I'm pretty sure that my framegrabber won't let me enter the domain as soon as they come separately. Is this true?

While is simply looking at a field? Odd or even? I don't know how the framegrabber used it for me. Let's say that I have set the mode to the only odd fields. Do the odd field immediately after it happens to the acquisition card or after he gets two odd and even and then it gives me the strange field? In this case, I would get the ground with the delay of 1/60 s, which is bad for me. The start field is the odd field.

I watched an old program that uses analog video.  I am sure that the 1405 was supported by the latter, but not positive.  The only thing I had to do to enter field mode 60 Hz has been change the 'Interlaced Mode' property to the field.

I understand your pain.  Good luck.

  • Just upgrade to 50GB, now how all of my pictures and videos on my Mac?

I just upgrade my iCloud to 50GB plan.

I want to be able to all back up on my iPhone and iPad so if something always happens to each device, everything can be recovered later. Also, I want to synchronize all my photos and videos, and downloaded pictures from my iPhone or iPad to the cloud, so I can't see that on my Mac and possibly transfer to my Mac to an external hard drive and delete them from the cloud. I'm not interested in putting all of my pictures and videos on all of my devices using photo stream. I transferred photos/videos on my Mac using the Image Capture on the Mac.

    1. under settings > iCloud > Photos I have iCloud, photo sharing power in order to make albums and share them with people. I have currently iCloud photo library on my iPhone is turned off. I turned it on and it says it has been downloaded 448 photos, although I have only 256 photos? What else is the download? It downloads photos from shared albums?

    2. to get what I want, there are other settings I need to turn on?

3 will synchronize these photos/videos to any Mac with installed pictures that is connected to my iCloud account?

    Thank you.

1 not sure, where the 192 difference comes from.  Monitor to see...

    2. make sure than iCloud as photo library & download on my photo stream are turned on, and successfully, you need to download to iCloud.

    3. Yes, photos/videos will be synchronized across all devices via iCloud.

  • How to trigger and outputs analog and digital Outout tasks begins on a counter to start?

    Hello

I'm trying to synchronize the start of a task outputs analog, a task of digital output and a task of counter. I want to start the counter to serve the master trigger and analog and digital tasks to synchronize his departure.

I guess I need something like:

    analogOutputTask.Triggers.StartTrigger.ConfigureDigitalEdgeTrigger ("?", DigitalEdgeStartTriggerEdge.Rising);

    digitalOutputTask.Triggers.StartTrigger.ConfigureDigitalEdgeTrigger ("?", DigitalEdgeStartTriggerEdge.Rising);

    analogOutputTask.Start (); Slave 1

    digitalOutputTask.Start (); slave 2

    () counterTask.Start; n / / master

Where? is a string specifying a command source for the beginning of the task of the meter. However, I can't find what this string. Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

I'm sorry to tell you that invokeLater runs the executable on the wire of the event, not a separate Thread.  If you have actually started the treatment in the very thing you're trying to get away from.

You must run the execution in DownloadCombiner treatment in a separate Thread.  This is why, in the article, which I suppose you DownloadCombiner, it extends Thread.

  • Audio and video out of sync after rendering

    Hey!

I already asked a fairly identical question like this, but I have some news:

First of all, my problem is that after the export of the audio and video is not synchronized as in the scenario. Well, many have told me that he deals with variable frame rates, because I have images is 25 frames per second and sequences with 29.97 fps. But normally first would have changed directly each element in my sequence (25 fps, 1920x1080p) settings. And later when I add the clip in MediaInfo, he also tells me that the frame rate is 25 fps constant, not Variable. So I think that this is not yet the problem more.

But now, here's a little 'story': when I open the video after the return of his perfectly synchronized WITH the VLC Media Player (and not Windows Media Player).

And my question is: how is this possible? Couldn't, I now just change the Standart to VLC Player and then upload it to Youtube with the normal sync? What is the difference between windows media and VLC media player in this case player? Maybe it's because I have a few Quicktime footage in my sequence, which can be read with VLC Media player and not with windows media player?

If you have any ideas, let me know!

    Thank you

You basically answered your own question. VLC has proved to be more versatile and superior then the WMP.

  • At the same time, moving audio and video to another layer

I have all my files audio and video, linked between them on my calendar, so they slide left and right together, but if I try, say, drag a video clip up to V2 V1 layer the audio remains on A1 (even if it remained linked to the extent where your stay directly on the video clip and do not get synchronized). Is there a way to move audio and video of a clip to the same layer numbered in one step, rather than to move them separately?

Don't let the mouse and the SHIFT when moving the audio part that is.

  • New computer and video monitors HD and PP CS5.5

    Dear all,

I've recently updated for Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection 5.5 to work in accordance with Final Cut Pro.  Work with a Canon XL - 1s, record to mini-dv Standard definition until format, I think buying the Panasonic AG-AC160 AVCCAM and the upgrade to high definition.

I work on a Mac Pro and have been using a computer View Sonic monitor and a Sony video monitor that I had for years - left over from the old days of analog video tapes, but it always seems to do the job.

I learn to first Pro CS5.5 and subsequently seems to work o.k., so this isn't a problem at this time.

My question is: if I start working in high definition, what I have to change my computer and video monitors in order to obtain professional results of my editing software?  I did documentaries and want to do it in high def and have the best video for mobile applications and podcasts.

I don't want an another gazillion dollars on monitors if I have to, but I don't want to provide you with the best video that I can and I'll buy what I need.

Thanks for your suggestions and any info you can provide.

    Small town Gal

You can use a single monitor to edit and preview, as I do all the time on my laptop.  It obviously won't seem not as good, given that video is being reduced significantly, but once you get used to how it should look like, you'll be fine.  Once you export the final video, you can use a media player to view full screen, just to make sure everything looks okay.

That said, you can get a monitor cheap any time afterwards to see the final video (which I call "preview").

  • My photos and videos are not in chronological order, when I export the Photos app

Hello. When I export my photos and videos from the Photos app on my iMac all the photos and videos are not in order. I need all the photos in good standing - I need to export about 5 000 pictures of the application in order for a meeting next week! Help, please!

    Ethan.

This is not photo - it is a function of the viewing program (probably the finder) - once the photos are exprted form pictures you can see then in different ways which you control, Photos does not - by the finder you can view by name of son, byt several dates, by file size, etc.

Usually, the best way to accomplish what you want is to export using the names of batch file numbeing and then sort by file name in the program viewing

  • Flash crashing and video playback/Streaming problems

Recently did a reinstall of Windows 7 and have experienced problems with Flash and video playback in general. Questions may or may not be related. I have not detected problems with the opera and so I think that these are problems of Firefox. 3 major video sites that I use are (HTML 5 player) YouTube, twitch.tvand Crunchyroll.

    (1) flash very quickly and systematically accidents

       * Specifically noted when viewing streams on twitch.tv
       * Often crashes within a minute, almost certainly within a few minutes
       * Crash logs provided below

    (2) reading crashes

       * Occurs on all 3 sites
       * On twitch, stream freezes (but Flash does not crash). On YouTube, loading circle comes up and video freezes
       * If this occurs on twitch, Flash less likely to officially crash

    (3) volume cuts

       * Occurs on all 3 sites
       * If this occurs on twitch, Flash may still crash after
       * I've had volume issues with my system in general, with volume occasionally cutting in gaming programs, such as League of Legends and Hearthstone. That being said, I do not experience this issue with Opera and this only occurs on video playback in Firefox.

    Attempts at Solutions:

       * Disabled hardware acceleration in Flash
       * Reinstalled/Updated Flash and (I think) made sure there is only one version of Flash
       * Reinstalled/Updated Firefox
       * Cleared cookies/cache/other stored web data
       * Updated all drivers

I wouldn't stop using Firefox as my preferred browser and works fine on all my other devices, but if the problem persists, I'll have to. Any help or insight is appreciated!

Unfortunately, I have tried all fixes of cor - el without success.

However, I started to use audio drivers Realtek instead of Microsoft and everything seems to work more smooth. Will update later when I did several tests.
