acquisition video framerate

Hello

I tried to acquire images from a camera to 30 frames per second for the time-sensitive image processing. Currently I have a while loop with grab imaq acquire wired to imaq avi writing framework. The calendar of the loop is controlled by a wait function (ms). Of course, the framerate is dictated by the calendar of the loop, which is my main problem. For 30 fps, it's Ms. 33,333333 image which causes a rounding in the calendar of the loop error. So I make more images that I had because he's grabbing frames slightly faster than it should be.

I'm sure that many others have solved this problem, but the solution is not obvious for me. So nobody knows how to properly control the framerate?

Thank you

It seems that the link that you are is because the OS (all PC actually) and the camera have only a 1 kHz clock, so you're stuck with 1ms intervals.  In the software, there are still several ways so here:

Solution of hack:

Change the time of your delay loops: 33,33,34,33,33,34,...  This corrects your rounding error, but will give you up to 0.6666ms dithering in your signals.

Best hack:

Your feedback to vary your curls to delay time: run a timer and use it to adjust the ignition to 33 or 34 depending on where your<1ms rounding="" error="" is="" at="" that="" particular="">

Cheap, best solution:

Get a camera, you can set the schedule in the material.

Best with what you have:

Down timer windows 1ms.  The structure to use is a loop timed (under timed in the Panel of structures structures).  It will default to your timer 1 MS Windows, but you can use any material timing you have.  One of your tips will probably have a timer of 1 MHz, which will improve your scheduling problems and dither in 1000 x.  If you still need more, you can then use some notches above.

At the end of the day, it is a hardware problem and would resolve 'better' in the material.  However, there is always plenty of ways to do it.  In fact, I am sure that the gurus NOR can happen to many others.

Good luck.  Play with these corrections and keep learning,

Casey

  • Video framerate massively out of sync on the final rendering only

    Hi all

I used a screen reader program (Cam Studio) to save myself showing something on the screen in full HD and record my voice with a microphone. Due to the program settings that have been apparently set the final file was a 20 fps framerate but was otherwise fine played and downloaded on YouTube with success. However there was a long interval at first until I started talking so I thought I'd use After Effects to crop the video and add a few titles in singles. I created a model to the standard 25 fps 720 p and imported images. Everything seemed fine, he was appearing on the timeline and preview at the same rate as the original. I made him as H264, but the final file was a total mess with the audio that plays normally but the video play faster, perhaps double the speed. I checked the images 'Interpret' > hand ' settings and it was defined on the original framerate 20 fps and also checked the details on VLC which also reported 20 fps. I recreated the comp and tried repeatedly to rule out tweaks, I would put but everything seems to be set up correctly.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Thank you very much

    KW

    Finally it worked.

I went on the whole record that incorrectly displayed as a sequence of images long - he was a little less 11 000 executives and the run time was 9.09. Simple math reveals that this means that the actual framerate was 5.62 fps not the 20 fps that was reported by all of the programs it runs. Defining "Interpret images" to the correct value then made the images make it perfectly in a model of 25 frames per second.

The process with the image sequence was necessary because I did not have a good figure for the actual framerate and only knew he was playing MUCH faster (about four times) the speed, he should have. It seems that the framerate on the file flag was incorrectly, but the file always presents in preview in AE and plays correctly on YouTube and VLC which is kinda weird. My method is a very clumsy to find the solution, but an option if you have similar problems. Of course, the quality of the images is not important, because the real goal is simply to learn the total number of frame, so you can generate a sequence of images with resolutions tiny to save disk space and time. As it was, it took a few minutes to make almost 11 000 images in quarter HD resolution.

Hope it will be useful to you.

Edit: the framerate in real-time was also visible in the images in the preview screen, making the frame of the output method is not necessary, once you know this figure.

  • How to start and stop the video capture in a state machine

    Hello

I am a student of neuroscience and this is what I try to do: 1) trigger a camera to GigE (200 FPS), 2) start the video capture, 3) triggers a light that stays on for x milliseconds, 4) trigger a valve that will blow an air puff, 5) stop the tone and the valve at the same time and 5) stop the video capture 1 second after 4). For this, my VI is a state machine, with a State for each trigger (ex, 1 State for trigger camera 1 State of light of trigger, ect) and a statement to "stop" and a "time-out State." Everything worked except the video acquisition - the program could trigger the camera but only acquire a frame, because it was not running in a while loop and this is my first question: for an acquisition video is it always necessary to have a while loop?
I guess the answer is Yes, so I built a loop of 'consumer' for the camera. A queue of the pre-trial 'trigger camera' in the loop of producer, I was then able to start the video capture, but now the problem is to stop it at the right time. I have an another queue in the State of 'stop' in the loop of the producer, but is not able to start the State 'stop' in the loop of consumer, I think that maybe it's because the loop of consumer gets "stuck" in the whole loop.

I hope you can help me, the VI is attached. Thank you!

    Hello

First of all, in your loop producer: STATE 'Stop', you use the flushing line, then there is no need to use 'item queue at the opposite end. You can use the enqueue function.

Secondly, you said "I moved the command stop inside the while loop as you said, but it did not work. But if you look closely, you moved "Enqueue function" inside the while loop. Instead you should use Dequeue function. Please, look at the picture I posted an orderly manner.

And remove the circled (i.e. function. Enqueue function loop of consumption, where I wrote 'Why stop here').

    Try now.

I have a problem of audio drift on a specific set of videos when using first Pro CC (2014) on Windows 7. The audio starts well, but ultimately derives from mismatch way. This already happens in the Source monitor. I read that this may be due to the use of the video framerate Variable. However, the video I have is Constant framerate. At first, I thought it could itself or my PC, but when I dropped a Blu - ray rip in first, it worked perfectly. It turns out that this happens systematically with all the videos on the site source (Giant Bomb).

It seems first to misinterpret the images. When I play the video in MPC - HC, duration 02:51:10 bed, but when I put in first, it signals the duration as 2:51:00:03. I checked the settings of the sequence, but they seem to all correspond with the video source. Even when I put it manually, it does not help.

  • 1 problem and 1 Question

I just got a Sansa discovered refurb 16 GB for Christmas and tried to get some movies on this thing.  Its been a real pain.  I have VOB so Any Video Converter files, I tried and it has lip sync problems.  Tried the settings from here: http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board/message?board.id=view&message.id=4413&jump=true#M4413

and they did not work.  Tried the settings from here: http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board/message?board.id=view&thread.id=6068

and he got the view to play videos but with the lip sync problem.  I tried to change the A / V sync basic, no luck.  video framerate to 29.97 is not an option, only 25 to 30 I think, but certainly not 29.97.

I have not yet tried formatoz.com, but will probably tonight.  Any suggestions?  I have about 8 hrs a value of time lost so far...

Now to the question: I have about 5 VOB files by film I would like to transfer and I was wondering whether or not point of view seamlessly pass the 1st mp4 to another.  If not, I'm pretty well, do anyone knows how to convert these 5 VOB files into a single file to be converted to mpeg-4 (mp4), or a shortcut to the 5 files just convert a mp4?

Thanks in advance.  I usually love challenges, but it becomes a little hand.

Well, I found a program called "Hand brake" courtesy of lifehacker.

  • My version of Windows Media Technologies is not compatible with my Windows Vista. Y at - it an upgrade or a solution to this?

I'm trying to convert VHS to DVD via my computer. I bought an ACQUISITION VIDEO & AUDIO USB card and I'm having the problem. It is coming that my version of Windows Media Technologies is not compatible with my version of Windows (Vista).

    Hi Als01,

    1. which video application do you use to convert?

First check if the ACQUISITION VIDEO & AUDIO USB card is compatible with Windows vista by using the Compatibility Center.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-Vista/default.aspx

If you use any application uninstall and reinstall and check if it works.

You can also check whether a third-party program is causing the conflict with the application.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

  • Acquisition of analog and video synchronized

    Hello experts tiara,.

I am curious about this example Diadem DAC:

    http://zone.NI.com/reference/en-XX/help/370858M-01/explonl/explonl/explonl_dac_video/

He claims to be able to acquire analog and video synchronized.  Anyone can determine how to properly synchronize these two data flows are?  Because it is a desk, probably Windows machine and no trigger material between video and analog devices, I'm guessing that the two are, at best, on +-1 second.

Can anyone solve this problem?  I see in the manual use tiara (here) that NEITHER has done some work in order to study how the clocks are accurate in Diadem.  And they even mention a few points of 100 msec.  But I don't really trust this number when it comes to acquiring analog and video data simultaneously.

    Thank you, John

    Hi John,.

You ask an interesting question, and I had contact with the developer of R & D responsible for this service and received an explanation on his part on the works of this feature.

The target application for this specific feature is not for use cases where the exact synchronization between the measurement and data acquisition are required (i.e. a crash test of vehicles with more than 1000 frames / second video recording). This feature is implemented for users who wish to have the possibility to use webcams to get insight into what their machine or test do any recoding data at the same time. We should ask this 'parallel acquisition data and video' and not 'synchronous acquisition' - which suggests that it is a way to ensure that the data and the video are actually synchronized during the acquisition process. The original entered German aid system speaks 'parallel' instead of 'synchronous' acquisition, the English translation incorrectly uses the word 'synchronous' instead of 'parallel '. I contacted our documentation team to clarify this part of the help system.

Accurate synchronization to achieve, especially between multiple streams of data acquisition and a camera, the application must use frame grabber hardware - hardware specifically designed to support the capture video or image.

This is how DIAdem DAC addresses this type of application, I hope this information is helpful to you and others to this feature:

Tiara DAC is a top priority on the acquisition and the release of the data to and from data acquisition equipment. The video recording feature is less of a priority and is not controlled by tiara constantly. The video recording process is triggered as closely as possible to the data acquisition process. The current local time stamps of two triggers (data and video) is registered allows us to determine the exact time for the two signals of reading according to DIAdem, i.e. If there is a delay in the start of video recording, is considered for reading in MODE of DIAdem.

Our tests with made with a camera (not multiple, which is supported by MODE of DIAdem) and data acquisition equipment NOR (not several devices, which is also supported by DIAdem). In these tests, that we have seen the video and data were generally synchronous within some frameworks (no real 100% synchronicity) - which was quite thin which this solution based on USB low-cost camera technology was designed for. It is generally better than +/-1 second depending on the application, but also synchronized to the millisecond like material systems would be able to achieve.

There are several factors that influence the results of the tests carried out in this area of application: PC hardware (CPU, RAM, disk system), the tasks of measures, other software running on the computer chassis, the camera and the framework, software drivers, etc.. There are too many variables beyond the control of tiara that can influence the synchronicity of the acquisition of data and images based on the software only, so true synchronicity can be achieved using equipment designed for this purpose.

I hope that clarifies the DIAdem DAC functionality a little better. Thank your for having pointed out the misuse of the book 'synchronous' in the help system, going as fixed for the next release of DIAdem. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Best regards

    Otmar

  • Data acquisition and video acquisition

    Hi all

I am a new user of Labview. I am trying to build a VI that synchronize acquisition DAQ voltage of one or more channels to an AVI video acquisition (IMAQ) (including a bayer encoding process), recorderd by a digital camera.

I built this VI which I attach.

The problem I have right now is that I am able to do a video and a signal, but the duration of the video is always different from the signal, I can read the time in the file LVM vector.

Could you please tell me how I can solve this problem?

Perhaps this question may seem easy, but. As a new user, I know very well how to use Labview in the most effective way.

Thank you all for your time.

  • Rotate video from portrait to landscape with framerate strange

    Hello

I'm turning a video that was shot on a smartphone and which must be rotated 90 degrees.

I imported the file into Premiere Pro and first said to file a 29,45 fps framerate. I then used the effect controls panel to rotate the video and then use the sequence settings to switch from portrait mode to landscape (1080 x 1920-> 1920 x 1080). In the sequence settings dialog box, I can not select an appropriate time base (appropriate about the framerate of the source of 29,45 fps). It is default to 10 fps, which is obviously not correct and translates into a slow export file. If I use 30 fps (or change the fps clips first to 30 images/s) the resulting file is shorter (so he basically plays back faster).

Is it possible to turn my video fps 29,45 90 degrees and keep reading speed?

I also tried brake hand and audio sounds strange with this output file.

I think I just find the answer myself. It seems that I have to manually use the time base of 30 frames per second. File seems fine, the duration is identical to the original and audio sounds great so the reading.
