Acronym for time zone in Date.

Hi all

I have a string is something like this "* MON Aug 10 10:07:12 EDT 2009."

I want to convert this string to a Date.

I don't know how to take into account this EDT in my conversion.

Is someone can you please tell me what is the acronym for the time zone in Oracle.

I'm trying to do something like this to convert this string to type date

Select to_date (' Mon Aug 10 10:07:12 2009', 'DY MY DD HH24:MI:SS YYYY') of double / * this will work as it comes without EDT * /.

Select to_date (' Mon Aug 10 10:07:12 EDT 2009', ' ') of double / * don't know how to convert it * /.

Thank you

Hello

Do not use a date but a timestamp with time zone here.
TZDS is not available when you use TO_DATE.

See: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/sql_elements004.htm#BABEFHFG

SQL> select to_timestamp_tz('Mon Aug 10 10:07:12 EDT 2009', 'Dy Mon dd hh24:mi:ss tzd yyyy') ts from dual union all
  2  select cast(to_timestamp_tz('Mon Aug 10 10:07:12 EDT 2009', 'Dy Mon dd hh24:mi:ss tzd yyyy') as date )  from dual;

  • Time zone and date of creation of PDF

    Hello

    I have two questions which I would like to please your help:

    -Can the date of the creation of a pdf file be changed? What is strong evidence that the document was born in effect on that date? I should specify that the document was created with the pages mac application, and the date of creation has been consulted by checking the properties of the document on the adobe reader software.

    -I am located in France/Paris GMT + 1, will be the creation date poster/converted in my local time zone (GMT + 1) or is it possible that the document seems to have been created later it should be because the creator or sender (later than the sender said) was in a different time zone?

    Thank you for your help

    The date of the creation of a PDF document can be easily changed by using Adobe Acrobat or many other third-party PDF viewers. There is no hard proof when in fact the file was created.

  • Calendar entry for flights crossing the time zones

    I fight to find the right method to enter a calendar event that starts in a time zone and ends in another.  It is often the case for the flights of the airline.  Example: My departure is from New York (JFK) at 12:00 noon Monday and arriving in Seoul, Korea is at 16:24 (local) Tuesday.  I cross the road to the International Dateline. With Support for time zones "lit", how to capture these moments so that they are accurate, once arrived in Seoul?

    Even more difficult: due to cross the International Date line on my return, I arrived in New York earlier that my time of departure the same day.

    Any suggestions on how to deal with this would be appreciated!

    Paul

    If you enable support for time zones, each entry includes the time zone setting. Select the correct time zone for each. Move real time you you include an entry in the "travel time" drop-down menu. Otherwise enter time manually and identify the zone in the title.

  • DataPump with different time zone files

    Hello

    I'm trying to import a schema with datapump to a 12 c in oracle 11.2 instance oracle instance. I got an error cause different time zone files. 11.2 is on version 14 and 12 c is on version 18. So I tried to import a single table, make a new export with that one table (table got no timestamp with time zone column data type) and exported. That has worked well. So I modified my schema export to exclude these tables with columns with data type timestatmp with time zone. When you try to import this new dump, it still does not for the same reason.

    So, to import a table worked, but import a schema failed. Does anyone have a suggestion for me, how can I import this discharge? And no, I can't install a patch with the new zone files.

    I could solve it myself, had to exclude more tables, not only those with timestamp with time zone, but also excluded arrays with data like AQ types $ _ %.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro can not handle time zones?

    I normally work in Texas, but at the moment I am in San Francisco. I've updated the time zone on my Mac OS X 10.6.4 system accordingly. When I try to certify a PDF with Acrobat Pro 9.3.3 my digital signature (which I just created on the PDF) is considered invalid by Adobe Acrobat because it "seems to be in the future."

    The best I can explain it, here's what seems to be the case:

    1. My computer is set to the Pacific time zone. It is 11:44 AM PDT
    2. I digitally certify a PDF document.
    • Signature properties say the date is 2010-07-28 13:44:36 - 05 '00'.
    • The time stamp included with the signature is dated 28/07/2010 13:44:36 - 05 '00'

    For some reason, Acrobat Pro thinks that the signature is not valid because she seems to be in the future. Why

    is not Acrobat Pro smart enough to handle time zones?

  • I am uncertain as to how this error can occur. I use a timestamp server (http://tsa.starfieldtech.com) in my digital signature timestamp. There seems to be no preferences in Acrobat for support for time zones, so it must determine the local time clock system, but without the context of the zone.
  • Hi Sasha,

    Acrobat turned when you reset the time system? If the time original system (actually the GMT offset) has been loaded into memory at launch and doesn't not reset itself when you changed the system preferences. Acrobat should be able to get the new GMT offset, see you are at - 7:00 (PDT) and make the changes accordingly.

    As you may have noticed, in what concerns the digital signatures, all times are "generalized time Format." Many people confuse this "hour of Europe" because the month comes first, but it's an ISO standard, where the time starts to the year.

    Would like to know where I can change the date/time (zone) within the ACS v5.1.  Change in the BIOS is not an option in area, just the time.  ACS then displays something completely different when starting.  Have not been able to find the settings for this in the GUI and the link I found in a talking points to a doc that apparently I need a special for access.

  • Display time & date are wrong after I touch in the (US) Central time zone?

    It is the second PC I bought with pre-installed window 8. The time and date displayed does not after I have chosen the timezone where I'm located.

    For example: the time and date in Chicago (Central time) is from 23:00 on 23 Dec. But the screen would show on 24 Dec, 14:00. Many hous AHEAD of my time zone.
    Latest technology of pc aide said it was defective battery CMOS, but the same thing happens to this newly purchased pc. I start thinking it's WINNING 8 and not the material.
    Unlike 7 and others win, win 8 does not seem to allow me to perform manual date/time settings.

  • Date picker with errors of time with timestamp with local time zone (Apex 5.0)

    Have a problem for the datePicker (with time) to work on a timestamp with local time zone database column.

    It works very well with the time steps, but when I add a mask to format with the time it fails with an error like: -.

    «Date entered stressed attribute value sysdate to element P111000_TARGET_DATE does not YYYYMMDDHH24MI, format DD-MON-YYYY HH24 TZR.»

    I have tried many masks of different formats including: -.

    • DD-MON-YYYY HH24 TZR
    • DD-MON-YYYY HH24
    • HH:MIPM-MON-DD-YYYY
    • YYYYMMDDHH24MI

    but still get the same error...

    No matter who got the job or have a tip? Really want to use the timestamp with local time zone datatype as facilitates a lot of things.

    Thank you

    Pls ignore, do not read the error message... The problem was my default highlighted value in the wrong format.

  • Display data DateTime Fields in the local time zone

    I have a table defined as follows:

    create table TimeTest
    (
    DATETIME TIMESTAMP (0) WITH TIME ZONE
    )

    I insert two lines where the time zone changes to a date given in the spring:
    insert into timetest values (datetime) (to_timestamp_tz (' 08/Mar/2009:01:59:55-0500 ',' DD/my/YYYY:HH24:MI:SS TZHTZM ""));
    insert into timetest values (datetime) (to_timestamp_tz (' 08/Mar/2009:03:00:00-0400 ',' DD/my/YYYY:HH24:MI:SS TZHTZM ""));

    How can I select the datetime field in the time zone of my choice? If my session time zone is - 0400, should not 01:59:55-0500 displayed as time 02:59:55?

    The session time zone is:
    Select double sessiontimezone;
    -04:00

    So why do I get this:
    Select to_char (datetime, ' DD/my/YYYY:HH24:MI:SS TZHTZM "") of timetest;
    08/Mar / 2009:01:59:55-0500
    08/Mar / 2009:03:00:00-0400

    I thought I would get this result instead:
    08/Mar / 2009:02:59:55-0400
    08/Mar / 2009:03:00:00-0400

    Thank you

    It is stored as a timestamp with time zone, so you must cast in the local time zone for your database:

    Connected to Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0

    SQL>
    SQL> create table TimeTest (DATETIME TIMESTAMP(0) WITH TIME ZONE);

    SQL> insert into timetest(datetime) values (to_timestamp_tz('08/Mar/2009:01:59:55 -0500', 'DD/Mon/YYYY:HH24:MI:SS TZHTZM'));

    1 row inserted
    SQL> insert into timetest(datetime) values (to_timestamp_tz('08/Mar/2009:03:00:00 -0400', 'DD/Mon/YYYY:HH24:MI:SS TZHTZM'));

  • Date formatting according to UTC time zones

    www.freecrm.x10hosting.com

    Before installing my paintings, I need to better understand the relevance of the datetime property and conversion of this area.

    I am based in th UK (UTC, Greenwich mean time), but my host is in the States, which means that the date of "now" and time is based on US time (UTC?)-

    I did the formatting of the date, for example <? PHP echo date (, d/m/Y ', strtotime ($datetime ['DATETIME']));? > but don't know how to approach the problem compared to all visitor's time zone in the world.

    I have a sniffer script that detects the language of browsers, but I don't see that to be very useful.

    The site requires registration/login so I guess I could have a preference of UTC (UTC + 3 or whatever) in their folder. This could then be used to something like that.

    <? PHP date echo (se, d/m/Y ', strtotime($datetime['DATETIME']+$row_recordsetuser['UTCTIMEZONEPREFERENCE']));? >

    Does make sense?

    I know that the formatting will be a challenge as well because the United States use d/m/Y,

    Or is there a way to format the data of MySQL before its even called?

    You must use date_default_timezone_set() instead:

    | Note: Since PHP 5.1.0 (when the date/time functions were written).

  • List based on the system date or time zone user

    Hello

    We have been questioning a service request list based on the timestamp created with criteria = today.

    But the result is inconsistent. Sometimes records created within today do not appear on the list.

    What is the definition of SOD ' today ' today '? It applies to the date system (time US) or Pacific time zone (for example the + 8) user?

    Thank you, SAB.

    Hi Sab!

    I did some tests and found that this is directly related to the user zone set on the user details page.

    I am with paris (gmt + 1) time zone, and when you go to the created SR list today, I have a lot of records.
    I set the time zone of eniwetok (gmt - 12). It is 11 now in france, therefore, with this zone, it is p 11 m yesterday.

    And when I went back on the list (after the closing session and connection), there is no trace!

    I hope it's useful!

    I bought my computer laptop to the United Kingdom and installed Thunderbird there initially, but remains in NZ and reset home location and time zone accordingly.
