Activate the option 'remove hardware safely' for drive eSATA hard in Windows 7 64 bit

eSATA disks do not appear in the icon 'Remove hardware safely', well than hard drives USB.  Apart from using workaround like app 'HotSwap!', how do I activate the eSATA drive appear in 'remove hardware safely '?

This can provide help, although I love Hotswap myself.

  • Problem with the icon 'Remove hardware safely' on the bottom of the screen

How can I get the icon 'Remove hardware safely' to stop making its sound? It makes the bonk sound which indicates that you can remove your device. It slows down the PC games and is just annoying. I used the troubleshooter and checked all USB options that have been listed under my 'pilot' and the message I get says that they are enabled and work correctly. When he makes his tone, the icon in the taskbar disappears and reappears then. It does not seem to be no harm in or affecting any other thing except the PC games we play on our computer. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Chrisjurrians,

To turn off the sound for the connection / disconnection of devices, follow these steps:

    a. click Start and select Control Panel

    b. click on device sound and Audio

    c. under device sound and Audio, click its tab

    d. under program events, select the device connection and in the Strait, make scrolling the drop down for None.

    e. also repeat the same for disconnection device

    This should do the trick.

  • New appearance of the icon 'Remove hardware safely' in my taskbar

Hello.. I'm using windows vista on a computer acer laptop. Today I have been updated from my iphone and press the eject button as itunes tells us to do. Then I tried to update my inano and he would not recognize it when I plugged into the USB port. When I checked it appeared that my iphone is still connected. I stopped him, left and a few hours after I got home, I got a blue screen on my laptop with orders written about it. So I ctrl-alt-del and started in normal mode and it started. Now I have an icon 'remove hardware safely' in my taskbar and have no idea why its there. Can someone help me? THX

    Hello

The icon is normally so it was probably worth hide if inactive and because of
the incident you said he was not idle. It should sooner or later hides.

To check its setting - right click on taskbar - properties - Notification area - customize.

    I hope this helps.

    Lost 'remove hardware safely '.

    Restore point:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    See you soon.

  • Where the icon 'remove hardware safely '?

I just upgraded to Win 8 of Win XP. I'm used to seeing a popup or an icon in my taskbar lower right to "remove"hardware safely"after plugging in my camera or phone, but I don't see one in Windows 8. What happened to him? Will I have a problem if I remove just my camera, or do I have to take other measures to ensure that it is safe to unplug?

Click the arrow to the top by the clock.  This will show hidden items and allow you to remove safely from the aircraft.

In the next image look for the small triangle in the taskbar. Click the same place in your own Windows 7 operating system.  A window like this will appear and allow you to choose what is visible in the taskbar, including the 'remove the device icon.

  • Icon 'Remove hardware safely' is missing from the notification area

I just reinstalled Win7 X 64 business but found that the icon 'Remove hardware safely' is missing from the notification area when I plug a USB key or external HARD drive (they don't work either by the way, I can view files in them no problem), I tried the solution of workaround suggested in http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-desktop/safely-remove-hardware-icon-missing-and-cant-eject/e9fda0a2-c308-4853-bf1d-a3926ff0fcd1?page=1&tm=1299855382970#footer , but it does not resolve the issue, I don't see the USB stick or external HARD disk in the dialog 'remove hardware safely '. The only way I can eject a USB device is click on the drive in windows Explorer and select "eject" while even "eject" is not available for an external HARD drive

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot it?

    Hi Louise,.

I understand that you have an external CD/DVD drive connected to your system... He will return when you restart your system, you can also try to remove and reconnect. If the drive is fits into the system, click on start-> settings-> Control Panel-> system-> hardware-> Device Manager-> to highlight the name of your computer-> Select scan for hardware changes.

  • Problems with Vista after disconnecting external USB key without using 'remove hardware safely '.

A week ago, I unplugged my external Seagate USB drive without using a 'Remove hardware safely' first of my Vista pc.  Since reconnecting the drive, I had a series of problems.  The drive itself seems to be ok.   I am able to read and write to files on the disk.  I'm not able to do is the following:

    (1) open disk management.  It hangs on "Connecting to Virtual Disk Service".

    (2) stopping or starting without windows to snap or take an extra long time to stop or start.

    (3) failed to start Google Picasa3 or Adoble Photoshop Elements 7.  They both hang him.  I am able to use other programs such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, Miro, Norton Antivirus.

Points 1 and 2 above work fine if the drive is not connected.  I plugged the drive into another computer (Windows 7) and ran Seagate disk checking utility.  He came clean back (no bad sectors) so that the drive is NOT corrupted.  (Check of the Seagate utility disk hung on my pc Vista.)   It seems that something related to the disk under Vista service is corrupted.

I also see "driver has detected an error in the controller on \Device\Harddisk2\DR2." event message for different devices.  I also tried a restore to a point just before that the problem occurred.

I don't want to reinstall Vista therefore looking for a solution.  Thank you.
