  In my case the removal of the upper and lower registry filters helped get the CD/DVD is working again.
  You should try this:

  -go to the Device Manager and remove the drive from the list CD/DVD
  -Start the registry using the regedit command and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
  -restart the laptop.

• Qosmio G25: Restore UK disks can work on machine USA?

  I attended college in the United Kingdom since last September. Has decided to make use of the Easter hols to start on my Qosmio G25 (G30 to the United Kingdom). Unfortunately restore 2nd disc (3rd if count you the disc from the Qosmio player) has a read error.

  I've been in contact with a very nice toshiba service representative, but he says that records UK will be dependent not on a machine of USA due to the identifier is different (CMOS/processor or m/Board).
  Another that ask my brother to ship the original for me disks (I travelled with the backups that I did), the only thing I can think is to try software retreival data on the failed drive and burn a new disc.
  I'm off to a friend to do once I have validated.

  If anyone can shed some light on how to use a disc of UK to recover my system, assuming that it is a question, it would be great.

  I don't really know if it will work. I heard that the American units have support different recovery check and if the drive is not the right installation is not possible.

• Qosmio G25: Vertical lines of pixels blocked

  I have a huge problem with my Toshiba Qosmio G25:

  My LCD has 2 lines of pixels blocked, one pixel wide, going from top to bottom. Before we continue, I want to point out that my computer has not had any physical trauma of any kind and is usually used as an office.

  Everyone knows about this problem? Is there any miracle solution that I can handle it on my own or the only solution sends on laptop computer for the service? How the problems like that managed, toshiba will replace the screen or that they will completely replace the computer? I'd much rather prefer rather to solve this on my own with your suggestions as opposed to a long wait on the service.

  All of my school work depends on my computer and I would be helpless without him for several weeks. Please if someone has experienced this problem and it is resolved, I'd appreciate that they could share their experience and knowledge.

  It is not easy to say if this happens due to a malfunction LCD or even faulty graphics card. You can check its operation with an external monitor to see if the problem persists.

  In any case I put t believe you can do anything on your own, especially if the graphics card or the LCD is faulty. The hardware must be replaced. I know it's very annoying, but I recommend you contact the service in your country. Save all your data on USB and try to finish your work on some PC friends.

• Qosmio G25: Dust seems to accumulate behind my screen?

  I use my Qosmio G25 for half a year now and over time, it seems that dust has been implemented behind my screen. It's not pretty to look at because it weakens my screen contain the dark spots. In fact it is not behind my screen, but between the screen and the protective layer that covers.

  I have beared to live with it, like two months now, but recently, to my surprise that I even found an eyelash taken down there.

  Does anyone have the same problem as me? Is there a way to remove the protective layer and clean the strainer, cause that it becomes a problem.

  There is not really a way to do so without possibly damaging the LCD. If your computer is under warranty, I advise to take it to your authorized service provider and to replace the LCD screen. I remember the dark spots in LCDs are contained in security LCD which makes replaceable under warranty. Otherwise, you can try to clean behind the protective layer, but I don't think it will change anything.

  Hi, I own a Qosmio G25 - AV513 (and HD Serial - ATA), and I am trying to install windows XP Professional. When I start to install, she prays for the scsi driver. I provided a usb floppy driver, which is always pressing S as requested. After installing windows begins, just after formatting my HD, it asks that the TOSHIBA RAID driver again. The problem is that now, it does not recognize the USB (I think), and it does not read the driver.

  Well, it s a strange question.
  Try to disable RAID in BIOS. Then try to install Windows Xp.
  After this procedure, if the operating system is running, select the RAID and install the drivers for the operating system.
  I m not 100% sure it works because I use only the recovery CD to recover the device, but you can try it.

• Qosmio G25: blue screen of death in the course of watching TV

  I also get the blue screen of death (Qosmio G25) and without apparent reason. I just watch a HD channel for an hour and it just hangs at random while the TV was going on. His crashed a few times before that too. But the strange thing is that I never changed anything, I just watched TV and went to the blue screen with the code everywhere.

  Does anyone else have this problem?

  AFAIK the Qosmio G25 was designed for the American market.
  All laptops that end in 5 are for the U.S. market.
  However, it is not easy to say why it happens.
  I assume you are using the image of Toshiba's own operating system.
  I checked the driver Toshiba U.S. page and found a few drivers.

  You can check that you have installed driver TV tuner driver and BIOS versions.
  Maybe a BIOS update will help you.

  But the blue screen of death is usually due to the fault of hardware or software serious dysfunction.

• Need of replacement of CD/DVD for Qosmio G25

  I have a Qosmio G25-AV513. This is very similar to the G20. It is out of warranty. The Dvd/rw drive is a carpet * a 845 s. The trouble started just after a year of purchase. After a complete system restore and update the reader has a very unpredictable reliability with optical media. The brands it has previously burned without problems now are not recognized or fail with the error "power calibration".

  I went through the administrative service, various burning software settings, revising flash's 102D. Various resources on the net show that the other laptop brands that use this model reader also suffer these problems. I'm therefore looking to confirm a suitable replacement disk. I have taken note that the master/slave jumpers may be hard together.

  If you are looking for a replacement, that I fell on the Panasonic UJ - 85J. Can anyone confirm this or another drive as a replacement right? Although I would like to keep away from the mat * a readers.
  Pointers would be appreciated, it's not fun drag an external drive.

  The power calibration error because the lens of the drive cannot calibrate in the correct position and that's why the drive can't handle the different CD or DVD.
  As you assume already that the drive needs to be replaced

  I just bought a laptop Samsung QX411-W02UB refurbished with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, and everything was going a lot until I've decided to try Skype and noticed that the microphone did not work. I'm starting to think that maybe since it is a used laptop, the microphone can just be pulled.
  I downloaded the RealTek HD Audio Driver, enabled in his preferences and set the volume and levels of boost to their maximum values (100% and + 36.0dB, respectively). I have all disabled devices shown, the only other being "Stereo Mix - RealTek High Definition Audio - Ready." I tested the microphone with this second 'device' on and off, inside and outside of Skype.
  Here's what he did:
  The bar on the right side of the active microphone (microphone - Realtek High Definition Audio - Default Device) has a few green flickering bars as if the microphone works for about 1 to 7 seconds, but then everything stops. I spoke directly to the microphone and nothing happens. When I do a test call on Skype with Echo/Sound Test Services, I hear no reading of my voice.
  I made an audio recording of troubleshooting, and it detects no problem (I've seen all the details and they all say "not present delivers". I've also updated everything need be updated (restarts and all).
  So it's pretty much my problem. I wouldn't want to return a laptop because the built-in microphone did not work. I hope I described it well enough. I worked on it for about 6 hours now so my brain becomes blurred and tired at all.
  Is there possible solutions to this problem or it looks like I'll have to use an external mic?

• Change the active microphone in AS3

  Is there a way to change the active microphone in AS3 without using the SecurityPanel.MICROPHONE?  All my attempts to stop any activity of micro, although triggered by a click of a button.

  Using

  works great, them if I do it at a later time

  mic = Microphone.getMicrophone(newIndex);

  and survey - level mic.activityLevel is always-1.

  If I switch back to the original microphone, it works again, who ever has been initially selected in the control panel of security work.  With two microphones to work, and I spent has been selected via the Security Panel to make sure that's not specific micro.
  

  Is this a risk to security and unauthorized?  Once you initialize a microphone, is that what you're stuck with?  I spent the cameras in the air, but it was air.

  - as a side note, the reason for this need is we get comments every time that a user is using the computer's speakers is on firefox.  I put the looping to false and I brought the SoundMixer level 0, but as soon as safety microphone Panel window opens upward, the level rises and looping behaves as if it was set to true.  When the window closes, I get control again.

  Figured it out.  It seems that the Microphone.activityLevel is - 1, until you add a listener of the SampleDataEvent.  You don't need to add this if you run on the server.  In my tests, I was updating my reference the microphone to check the maximum in a loop of update.  I have no day the SampleDataEvent lsitenre since I was not actaully record, just check the microphone input level and do not think that it had to be in place.

  It seems possible that micro verifies that he was a listener of the SampleDataEvent, or is connected to a server before the maximum update, I just never saw this kind of thing done.

  I am not sure that this is the case, but that's what it looks like.  If anyone has more information, please let us know.

  Qosmios configuration unfortunately unknown us to me but like many I know WinDVD is just a DVD player.

  I presume you can use InterVideo WinDVD Creator if the unit is installed with this application.

• DVD-RAM on Qosmio G25 (AV513) does not work correctly

  My G25 has crashed and I restored it using the original restore CD supplied with the machine, but after the installation of the DVD-ROM (Mat * a dvd - ram UJ-845 s) did not appear in the windows XP media center SP2 and in Device Manager.

  It appears with a yellow (!) I tried to install the driver on the site, but there are "device not connected".
  I tried the DVD via the Qosmio player and it worked does someone has an idea how make it work on windows again?

  Hey Buddy,

  have you tried to remove the drive from the "Device Manager" and reinstall completely? Normally windows should install then device and shouldn´t you need all the drivers, especially for the DVD-RAM.
  So, if it is not already done, remove it and try it.

• Qosmio G25-AV513 - can't find the 2nd HARD drive

  The G25 AV513, isn't supposed to have 2 drives, one with 120 GB and the second with 60 GB? I see only a drirve in "My Computer".

  I erased my computer and re-installed Windows XP operating system since the original CD Toshiba I chose option 3 "Striping" of readers. I'm supposed to see the two readers in "workstation? I have a total of 180 GB of memory? According to 'My computer' I see the C: drive and its total capacity is only 111 GB.

  I also tried to reinstall the operating system using two other options, option 1 using installation default Toshiba who said I can mirror to another date by using RAID, but I got about 45 GB of memory with this option, and it was the same for option 2, although about 45 GB.

  Once again, showing only a drive in "My Computer".

  This seems to be a series of Toshiba laptops we.
  I searched a few details and found the info on the Toshiba page we:

  There are two hard drives (2 x 60GB)
  You can check this in disk management and you will find the available disks.

  I think you can see that a single (120 GB) HARD drive in my computer, because the two hard disks are merged because RAID settings in the BIOS!

  Take a look in the user manual!

• Media buttons do not work on the Qosmio G25-AV513

  OK, so my problem is that my media above the keys Fn buttons no longer work.
  They will beep when you press on them, but nothing happens. I can't change even more than the brightness of my screen.
  Anyone know where I can go to find the files needed to download or point me in the right direction what to do?

  search for your computer and download the last value added package (VAP). If no one is available, then find a software which is called as "Flashcards" or something with "Flashcard buttons".

  Install them and the Fn keys should work again.
