Activation of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

I reinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium that came with my laptop. After about 2 months, I had a constant black background with the message "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine" in the lower right corner. Since I got a DVD, how can I activate my Windows. I use a DELL Inspiron laptop. I tried to ask DELL support by they said I must have Windows, so here I am.

Restore you your PC using the recovery partition (if it exists)? If so, you don't have to worry about activation.

But if you used installation media, use this product key in the label of the certificate of authenticity (COA) (now at the bottom of the laptop or in the battery Bay) to install Windows. This will activate the copy.

You can download Windows from the following links:

Alternatively, you can try the link below to order a new DVD of Windows:

Surely, I am able to activate my copy before it turns off right? I'm based if I prefer not to be call the USA and ranking until a phone bill after buying a computer brand new to the United Kingdom.
(I can really offer any representative of Microsoft with ID to come home and discovers the dead iMac and the only other computer in the House, I just want to activate my copy of HP Windows 7 64 bit on my current system and that's all.)

Have you tried to restart by phone?

  • Active microphone but do not pick up sound on the Samsung QX411-W02UB (Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit)

    Hello

I just bought a laptop Samsung QX411-W02UB refurbished with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, and everything was going a lot until I've decided to try Skype and noticed that the microphone did not work. I'm starting to think that maybe since it is a used laptop, the microphone can just be pulled.
I downloaded the RealTek HD Audio Driver, enabled in his preferences and set the volume and levels of boost to their maximum values (100% and + 36.0dB, respectively). I have all disabled devices shown, the only other being "Stereo Mix - RealTek High Definition Audio - Ready." I tested the microphone with this second 'device' on and off, inside and outside of Skype.
    Here's what he did:
The bar on the right side of the active microphone (microphone - Realtek High Definition Audio - Default Device) has a few green flickering bars as if the microphone works for about 1 to 7 seconds, but then everything stops. I spoke directly to the microphone and nothing happens. When I do a test call on Skype with Echo/Sound Test Services, I hear no reading of my voice.
I made an audio recording of troubleshooting, and it detects no problem (I've seen all the details and they all say "not present delivers". I've also updated everything need be updated (restarts and all).
So it's pretty much my problem. I wouldn't want to return a laptop because the built-in microphone did not work. I hope I described it well enough. I worked on it for about 6 hours now so my brain becomes blurred and tired at all.
Is there possible solutions to this problem or it looks like I'll have to use an external mic?
    Thank you in advance!

    Hi, thanks for the response.

I tried to do what you suggested, without success.
After I posted this, I discovered in fact two other problems with hardware, so it looks like I'll return it.
    Thanks again! I appreciate it.

  • need an iso file to install windows for windows vista Home premium 32-bit

I have a product key, but need Windows vista Home Premium (32 bit) ISO because I lost the part recovery partition

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • How to get a windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit installation disc?

My computer is an emachine T5086.  It has Windows Vista Home Premium and when loading drivers they stop loading at "windows32 drivers/crcdisk sys. I don't know what that means.

Then, the computer restarts and asks me to install my windows installation disc for repairs.  F8 on reboot is not available as an option.  I don't have a repair option I turn on the computer and hold down the F8 key manually.  I don't have a windows disk or recovery disk and I can't to where I can find a restore either point.

How to make a windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit installation disk?  I have my product key. Or where can I get one?

    Hello

There are different methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact the manufacturer of your computer, eMachines and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

You pay with the exchange for motherboards.

    1. you normally have to reinstall the OS after changing motherboards (different drivers)

2 Microsoft won't provide a new product key.

  • Large (100 gig +) file transfer fails in Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

    Hello

I ran out of sensible troubleshooting options and am hoping that someone on the forum may be able to provide a solution or additional troubleshooting ideas.

Scenario: I created a 178 concert file, an image of my old laptop XP file to be used for a virtual machine, on an external drive of USB3 for import to my new Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit computer laptop (ASUS N61JQ i7, 4Gig of DDR3 RAM). Operation failed for copy of file on the Win 7 machine (current patches, drive D:, NTFS, 250 free concerts), without error messages, regardless of the method.

    Troubleshooting:

Removes the file structure - exemplary fine for XP SP3 on a different machine, a smaller version (image of the C: drive only) copies very well to new laptop Win7 and creates the virtual machine that works.

Eliminated the USB drive - used 2 different drives

Eliminated from the USB - used Ports all three USB 2 and 3 ports and all failed, tried mapping to machine XP and do a drag and drop and copy and paste and even set up a ftp server on the Win 7 and tried machine download failed him via gigE and 802.11nall.

More advice in this forum and others, I downloaded Teracopy who do not - this failed with a message indicating that "the operation failed due to a file system limitation", but wikipedia shows the limit of file of an order of magnitude larger than my 16 TB file.

I also tried PowerShell coming to stop the copy without error message (resource monitor showed no activity on the external drive - the source of the file).

    I also have:

    • tried disabling / uninstalling antivirus
    • run the copy in safe mode
    • I tried to find answers in the newspaper of the events without success.

All seemed to fail somewhere after 100 gig mark. Often (but not always) failures caused strange behavior, including being unable to , unable to task switch, unable to stop. Often (but not always) a power switch reboot was necessary. My suspicion is that the copy of file is using some pool of memory that is needed by other processes of basic and cause misfortune wide system.

Interestingly, a new file by concatenating a line of 50 concerts three times for 150 gig in the same location as the destination file, a new file in target in the same place creating worked!

After having exhausted the limits of my personal creativity I now submit this problem to the collective wisdom of the tribe. A big thank you in advance, Richard.

    Success!

I tried another file copy utility FastCopy http://ipmsg.org/tools/fastcopy.html.en, he also failed, but with a slightly different error message:

"The requested operation was not successful due to a file system limitation665"

Search on Google that the message has led to this article:

    http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/winserverfiles/thread/e0d55018-CF06-43ca-8e20-dd2bb8494c96

... his fundamental premise - de-Frag - did not help (drive was off fragmented already), but the link internally to:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc781134%28WS.10%29.aspx

which is a NTFS bible made me think on the compression of files and directories and of course the compression in this directory was put on, I never use the disk compression so I don't know how it's happened, but once set to 'off', the flow of the copy more than doubled and the copy proceeded until the end!

Things that Microsoft might want to address:

    • I don't see anything in the literature suggesting there is a limitation to the compression of files. Fixing it, or the weakness of advertising would be a good thing
    • None of the built-in tools advised of an error or managed properly, one would think that NTFS has been mature enough so that it would no longer be a problem.

    Sort of, it's fixed now:

    Solution: COMPRESSION SET OFF

Best regards and happy new year

  • How do I upgrade/switch to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit OF Windows 7 Home Premium 32 Bit?

I noticed that my laptop has 64-bit capabilities. My processor is AMD Athlon Dual-Core QL-60 1.90 GHZ. Can someone give me detailed instructions on how to move to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit? Also, I have 2 GB of RAM, and I don't know if I should get another 2 GB for the transition to work. Thank you. ~ Mystery.

@LVTravel my laptop came with Windows Vista installed, but last Christmas, I installed Windows 7 Home Premium. It actually came with 64-bit disk, and the activation key.

I understood the part when you say that I have to reinstall all my programs basically. I'm not sure what you mean by data files, they are available when I insert the backup? Where can I insert the disc to backup at all? My question is, how to restore these "data files"? Also, sorry for all the questions. :)

    ~ Mystery.

Data files are the files that you create with your programs such as movies of documents, spreadsheets Excel, Word, photographs, etc.  If the files have been copied on the device to backup using Windows Explorer you can just copy them to the refurbished computer.  If you used a backup of some program you type then need to use this program to put the files back on the computer.  Some backup programs will create an image of the drive hard and if you do not select the data files only you could possibly replace your 64-bit operating system installation.  I would recommend that you get your cousin to ensure that data is backed up and the restore is performed correctly.

When I try to format C: my system does not allow because of the Vista OS.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    Any ideas?

Someone used install Acer on that media. You must get your hands on some Dell support installation media/recovery, or purchase a new license for Windows. No other option if the COA sticker is unreadable.

  • correct link to get Windows Edition home premium 64-bit.

Somehow, I lost my installation disc windows 7.

    So far, I have tried

These links, but somehow the download get interrupted whenever I tried to download windows 7 Free Download Manager, Internet Explorer, chrome, and Internet Download Manager

even I tried to download from a different ISP to different computer who does not, but still downloading does not.

It stops after download of mbs, then the speed drops to-0 bytes and then I won't get any speed, but if I restart again the download will begin. Sometimes it does not starts and redirects the page where I get the error 404 not found link.

On chrome and internet explore downloads stop it shows that it is downloaded, but when I see the file size, it is only about 500 MB or some time 2.5 GB. I tried to download a large file of them they download quiet well medium is not interrupted.

My internet connection is slow to 1 Mbps in my city there is no connection over 4 Mbps.

Looks like I need to have a no lower than 50 Mbps connection speed to download this file. :(

    Now the links above

the link no. 4 does not work for me, it says to contact technical support after that enter my product key, so I asked the support chat Microsoft to see how is going to get the windows 7 Home premium 64-bit, and then they gave me links to the last link given by them is no. 1. No. 3, I got from Google search.

Nevermind, I got an ISO SP1 Win7 Ultimate x 64 Microsoft technical support representative. It was the same md5 sum and file as one that I received a German site that had mirrored all TechNet downloads and Digital River. The key has been saved successfully valid and active. Phew.

So, as mentioned before, the recovery software page is extremely buggy and often fails to validate, or in my case, after the first trials, charge at all. It was down for several hours, even after I had installed Win7 and was able to get online.
