Activation of Windows problem just popped up

Help... I have a Compaq Presario Desktop PC SR5710F March 2009 that worked very well.

It has Window Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2.

Unexpectedly, in the lower right corner, he says now Windows Vista (TM) Build 6002 this copy of Windows is not genuine

In Control Panel-> system Panel, at the bottom, it has a section of Windows Activation.

You must activate today. Activate windows now.

Product ID: XXXXX-OEM-XXXXXXX-XXXXX and change product key

When we choose the "activate now", you get another jump to the top of table.

Product key Windows Vista family premium you typed is invalid for activation

and he gives three choices:

  • Buy a new product key online
  • Type a different product key
  • contact the HP company to help solve this problem (tried, but the system is out of warranty)

Don't know what happened and why... Can not find the package of the system with an activation key CD (might not come with one, honestly don't remember as far behind). I don't want to do a full restore from the hard drive and go back to square 1. and do not want to buy another license of Vista for a burp of system.

Any Suggestions?... Is it possible to contact HP on an output of the guarantee system for something like this addressed.

Hello

The unit does not include windows cd or DVD.

Check if you have the sticker COST of windows on the chassis of the device, and then try to enter this product key.

Have you tried to contact Microsoft and give them your key? See if you can get in touch with them.

Let me know if you have the Certification of the authenticity of the COA for windows and if you were able to type the key.

Thank you

I called the customer service who told me that I bought a MSDN (or something) Version of windows 7 ultimate and I'm not allowed to use it and that I should get intouch with the retailer and get his change. However last year, the retailer are closed because of problems and the company no longer exists, and microsoft refuses to help me to reactivate this key. IM 250 books pocket and have no idea what to do next. It is a 100% genuine Win 7 Ultimate version, however, that the * is this MSDN or else, why am not allowed to to use? Why they refuse a customer support after spending so much money on their production? The store / retailer closed due to problems. Very probably closed for the installation of MSDN / Technet product keys on computers sold at retail use (more on that below).

"About MSDN or TechNet product key
They are genuine Microsoft product keys, they are in fact retail licenses, but it is expected for a product specific Microsoft Software Developer Network (MSDN) and TechNet channel for professionals who pay a subscription. The main objective is for evaluation purposes. The big thing to their subject, unlike Microsoft, MSDN or TechNet keys evaluation software expires. Because the agreement by virtue of which the subscription is provided is a single license, none of the software should be distributed outside of it. Although its $50,000 worth of licenses, it is for one person only for use and no one else. Unfortunately, no matter the conditions of license, people still abuse of the program, two key product gift or sell on auction sites. Microsoft it issues licences in good faith that customer will not do it, but I guess human nature win on.

In your case, what has probably happened is, you bought a license MSDN key, which carries up to 10 activations unlike packed full of retail licenses which carry 1 activation. The person who sold it to you probably sold to 10 other people. Somewhere along the way, one of these people could have installed on a second system activated, because it went past 10 activation threshold, Microsoft has detected that he was abused and blocked the key for later use. »

  • Tandberg TMS v13.2.1 - Activation of Windows problem

    Hey all,.

Recently, we had a few problems with our TMS where we tried to RDP to it, he would immediately start us and we couldn't get in. We then tried KVM to the machine, there is no possibility to connect (screen, keyboard, and mouse were unresponsive). We decided to turn off the machine and it works. Once the aircraft came, we could RDP and connect again, however it came with a "Windows Activation required" screen. The TMS only has no internet so we cannot activate this way. I tried to activate windows via the automated phone system, but it gives us an error is not a valid product.

The version of TMS is 13.2.1. It runs Windows Server 2008 SP1. Has anyone encountered this problem? And can I contact Microsoft or Cisco for this problem?

    Thank you

    John

You need to track down which updated the TMS device to Windows Server 2008. Cisco supports only the device with the original operating system (Windows 2003).

  • Windows Installer + VSS + Windows problems in Windows 7 SP1 Activation

I used this Windows 7 machine for 5 years now and has recently encountered several problems, which probably are closely linked:

    1. Windows installation problem
Can't update programs, although new install if they do need Windows Installer to do. Most but not all Windows not updates install.

    2. the problem of volume shadow copy Service

Failed to create system restore points. With VSS errors appear when I try to do. No previous restore point is available.

    3. Activation of Windows problem
A pop up keeps appearing every 1 or 2 hours, saying that my computer is not running genuine Windows. Obviously nonsense since this PC was bought during the original Service Pack 1 of Windows 7 and I've never had a problem before.

I searched a lot online to solve all these problems. I tried hundreds of possible solutions, but nothing has worked. I think that it is all caused by the same thing, but I am unable to find it.

Ready to provide more information. Thanks in advance.

(PS: my camera has a pre installed Windows 7 so I own not a Windows DVD, don't want to reinstall the OS, prefer to try to find the cause of the mess)

  • Not authentic "Windows" problem

Story: My Dell Inspiron laptop has been running Windows Vista when initially purchased in 2009.   Dell has provided a free upgrade to Windows 7, and this upgrade went well several years ago.  Thus, the machine has been works well on Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 for awhile.
Don't know if this is important: a couple of months, I replaced the hard drive.   I did a backup/restore image for the operating system on the new drive.   I don't think that I was invited to return keys validation of Windows at this time here.   I had no problem and the machine worked well after the replacement of the hard disk.
Now, all of a sudden I get a pop up window that says "this computer is not running genuine Windows.
    However, my Windows is genuine!
I tried to solve the problem by installing the WindowsActivationUpdate.exe, but will not install.   I get the error message "update installation failed.   Information about the error - 0xC8000247
I tried to get the Windows product key (from the sticker on the bottom of the laptop) via Control Panel/system/change the product key but it says invalid key!
Something is clogged to the top, but I don't know what.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Thank you for your response.    I tried several related suggestions and more did not help.   That seems to have solved my problem of Windows Update is reinstalling the technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver as suggested by george1009 in your third link above.

As for my Activation of Windows problem, I typed in the wrong product key.  I entered the key on the sticker on the computer, but it is valid only for Windows Vista (original OS), but not for Windows 7 (current operating system).  I found that my Windows 7 upgrade disk envelope and who had the key valid on it.
    Thanks again for your help.

    KiranS Hello,

Judging by your post, it seems that Microsoft had technical problems when you tried to activate your copy of Vista by phone. Have you tried phoning the line Activation again?

The normal procedure is that if the activation fails through the automated system, the call is transferred to a real person. It is the only available option if you get the error 'use existing product key'.

I can only suggest that you try again the activation by phone and see what happens.

    Hi danlsk,

    ·         Update has been installed on the computer that you have been invited for the activation of Windows?

I suggest you to take a look at the following links in the article and see if it helps:

You may be prompted to activate Windows Vista on a computer on which Windows Vista has already been activated by a license in Volume or OEM installation

You are prompted to activate Windows Vista after you install a service pack for Windows Vista

  • Frequent hard drive exchanges are causing problems for activation of Windows 7?

I am new to Windows 7.    I frequently switch (turn) the hard drive on my system - say every 6 weeks or more.  I use the same set of 2-3 disks and restore my system from a disk image every time when I exchange them.   Change the drive often happens to cause problems with the activation of Windows 7?   Thank you.

    Hi Lone Star,

Change the hard drive on systems not prompt swap you for activation but after that the HDD on another system if the operating system is validated activation would be asked that the physical address of machines would have changed.

Honestly, it looks that your system needs a new reinstall of Windows 7. It should reinstall applications such as Microsoft Office and drivers for devices such as your scanner, printer. If you wish not to do this, follow these steps:

Check your hard drive for errors:

    Click Start

Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD

    Click on "Run as Administrator"

At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /f /r

When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and will try to correct them.

    then

    Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
    Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: sfc/scannow
This will check for any breach of integrity

    Restart your system

Also to perform a clean boot and see if things improve:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

You should also check to see if you have installed any rogue programs:

Click Start, type: programs and features

    Press enter

  • Activation of Windows 7 after reinstallation problem

So, a few weeks ago, my laptop has been infected with something, and my bf suggested resinstalling the operating system to wipe the computer clean, so we did. We used his copy of the full edition of Windows 7 that he had bought in a bookshop on campus. Jump in now, I realize that I have to activate windows and try to do it with the product of his cd key. When it starts to turn on, it says "the following error occurred while trying to use the product key: Code: 0xC004F061 Description: the Software Licensing Service determined that this specified product usable only key for the upgrade, not for new installations." Because this does not work, I used the key on the back of my laptop. Then he said: "the product key you entered will not work with this edition of Windows 7." You must run the installation of Windows 7 or enter a product key Windows 7 Ultimate. »

If I'm screwed? I'll have to go and buy ANOTHER copy of Windows 7 Ultimate so I can have a 'legitimate' Windows copy, even if it already is legit? Help, please. Thank you.

    Hi sgodwin2468,

Make sure that Acrobat Reader DC is updated Release Notes | Adobe Acrobat, Reader.

If the problem persists, try the solution below.

The default "save under" Acrobat/Reader DC dialog box is different from the dialogue box you had in earlier versions of Acrobat/Reader, it also allows you to record in the clouds and previous locations that you saved the files. It is possible that when Acrobat/Reader tries to connect to the 'cloud', it runs into problems. You can try to disable this feature to see if this brings your backup in the back of the box: open Acrobat Preferences, then go to the "General" category and uncheck "show the online storage when you save files:

  • Error in product activation key Windows 8 0xC0000022 / 0xC004F012 & more...

    Hello everyone.

I've been running Windows 8 for almost a year now.  Authentic, active, copy no problem whatsoever.  So after some personal problems with security, last week, I did a factory re install my Windows 8 X 64 system with high hopes.

All I get is the Windows Activation arise regularly, but when I try to activate Windows, error 0XC0000022 code appears. (PARAGRAPH 1).
Tried to activate by phone, but I do not have Installation ID slui 4 being listening off too.

Ran 'SLUI 3', product code entered, only to get "could not verify that key, then try another. (SS 2)

Even tried as mentioned, SLUI 4, enter "Denmark" and new 0XC0000022 (SS-3), then a window with no installation ID

So, after a lot of research and searching the Internet for a solution possible, I got to try some solutions without success.

I tried to launch a recommended cmd

    sfc/scannow

and this is what I have... online or not

So I tried the next best thing I knew 'The MGADiag tool' only to be again disappointed by this screen

and that's where he suddenly became chaotic, cause now, I got a new error then look up.

Apparently, this problem occurs when some files in the update of Windows are missing, even if the update is downloaded and extracted successfully.

"" So I quickly discovered a fix recommending'Troubleshooting Windows Update tool "fix Microsoft ' and tried, with a real outcome, for the first time since a started with that, a week ago. It looks like this

Here I am through, Yes! Finally and I keept going on with the recommended steps, which mentioned a 'Refresh your PC without your files' so I did, only to be disappointed again 2 hours later... by (SS1) error 0xC0000022

Without all the other tracks, so I started poking around in my control panel, just to be surprised by that too... What, my Windows is active, but not active? huh

When it clearly States in 'view details of activation' ' NOT AVAILABLE ' a click later

and yet once, click later on this page, I was tempted to look at the details "activation" that lead me to this screenshot for you guys

    Error code:

    0xC004F012

The software Licensing Service reported that the call failed because the value of the entry key was not found.

Now, this is where I get really confused, because now we have 3 error codes listed... and am honestly lose trust in all these solutions, but cela a seams to be the problem... It turns out that this error pops up when something is wrong with your 'Software Protection service' in Services.msc. So I checked out and Yes really enough...

Software protection service does not work! explains that I come back with all the other services are in effect, including the activation of Windows associated with those. So start it leaves are we going?

Access is denied? Hmm what a surprise. Pretty much identical to the previous error 0xC0000022. Which means normally is wrong with my permissions as access should not be denied... So I went to the next logical place... Properties to verify permissions and Yes, really everything is grey like this

AHA I got through and I found myself quickly sppsvc.exe file in my Windows dic. and changed all the permissions for FULL CONTROL. Only to return to the exact same small screens.

Now, here, I'm a week later, with a lot of knowledge, but no real results... really confused and embarrassed... So, I really hope that someone out there is smart enough to offer an adequate solution for this.

PLEASE DON ' T BOTHER IF YOUR JUST SOME MOD WITH A USELESS FANCY COPY PASTE TO THE SHOW... I NEED HELP, NOT A FANCY FILLERS.

OK, I don't usually answer and try to help, but as I spent so much time researching this issue after experiencing the same issue here, it will:

This solution worked for me on Windows 7, it has not been tested on Windows 8, but it worked for me after I have tried all the same steps that the poster original, nothing helps.

The problem is the Software Protection service, and is unable to start as you found it from the beginning.

Step 1. Open an administrative command prompt.

Step 2. Copy and paste the following command into your command prompt, and press to enter. This properly resets the permissions on the service:

    ICACLS % windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform/Grant, "BUILTIN\Administrators: (OI) (CI) (F)" "NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM: (OI) (CI) (F)" ' NT Service\sppsvc: (OI) (CI)(R,W,D) "," NETWORK SERVICE: (OI) (CI) (F)»»»

Step 3. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to %windir%\System32

Step 4. Make sure you can see hidden and system files and folders.

Step 5. Delete all the files/folders with the following name (you can move them to a folder to archive instead of delete them if you want to be sure):

    7B296FB0-376B-497e-B012-9C450E1B7327-5P-0.C7483456-A289-439d-8115-601632D005A0

Step 6. In your Windows Explorer window, navigate to:

    %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform\

    Step 7. Tokens.dat and rename it tokens.bak

Step 8. Try to start the Software Protection service. It should start successfully today. If he does then restart the computer and try to activate Windows again.

Thanks to Craig Garland and Santosh Bennett for their positions on the Technet site on the Software Protection service which lead me to this response.

This drive is now half a continent away. I tried for two days to get the order slui.exe 4 at work. But instead of giving me the phone activation option requires that I enter the product key. Which then brings back me to the message above. My question is how can I access the phone activation? How can I get the phone number so I can activate this operating system? We are just south of Dallas in Texas.

Can someone help me solve this problem?
