Hi ryandmahoney,

I suggest to disable the security software and test it

Step 1: Disable security software, follow the steps mentioned below

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Important: It is not recommended to disable the security software; activate security software once the test is completed.

You can configure the security software to allow this game on a network only if you trust the source

Thank you, and in what concerns:

    Hello

In my opinion, your configuration is good, but there is something that you can check. Access the wireless network connection properties. There is option this connection uses the following items and the inside should be sharing of files and printers for Microsoft Networks.
If this isn't the case, you can add it. Click the button install.

After that, start the Explorer and choose any folder. With the right click of the mouse, there is the option sharing and security. Share this folder must be selected.

Try to please and let me know if you have any success.

    Good luck!

  • OfficeJet 6700 Premium: Officejet 6700 Premium - Support for direct printing HP (Ad Hoc) wireless

Please can someone confirm if you can set the to either ad hoc printing or using HP Officejet 6700 Premium Wireless Direct. I can't find anything in the user manual.

The situation is that a friend has just moved into his own office with a connection high speed standard with a wireless router, in 'Serviced Offices'. These connections allow broadband to the office and he has to pay for a dial-up connection to the internet.

So he paid for two ethernet connections which probably come out through internet gateway of the complex. However, he lost the ability to print at its 6700 HP that has been previously set up wireless. He tried to install the printer using infrastructure mode by connecting to the network without wire of the complex, but still can not access the printer. It could be that the wireless network is on a different network for LAN connections segment.

The only solution I can think off is to let each PC with ethernet for Internet connection and install a wireless dongle in each PC to connect to the wireless printer. However, as noted above though I can't find the instructions for the Officejet 6500 to print Ad Hoc has nothing in the manual for the 6700.

    Is this possible?

    No,

Not all printers support this, the Officejet Pro 8600 support such a however.

Don't forget to update the latest firmware for the printer, you can use direct wireless allowing to use the priter without router.

You can find the latest firmware below:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=bi-101905-8 & CC = US & DLC = in & LC = on & os = 4131 & productOid = 4323658 & sw_lang =

And below, you might find the steps to activate and use HP wireless Direct:

  • AD - HOC on Yosemite password?

So I realized that I can't add a password when you create a special on Yosemite.  I know I could do this in previous versions of Mac OS x as a Maverick.

Please tell me there is a way to add a password because I tend to use ad hoc outside in public and would not for others to connect with my network.

    Thanks in advance a lot.

    Ray

Sorry, but I think that the possibility of providing an Ad - hoc network protected by password has been removed from OS X Yosemite. My guess is that Apple has dropped since it provided only WEP security level.

How to set the printer wireless ad Hoc mode to CP1025nw with automatic stop is off? IE never automatic.

Thank you very much for your help, if necessary.

Quite a few questions, send, but I will do what I can to answer them.

I recommend first to buy a router, even if it's one you won't connect to internet and it network with others your PC and printer. This will give you the best features and the results of what you're trying to do.

In addition, the automatic stop of the printer function can be disabled and is not affected by the type of connection. Usually, you can go through the configuration Menu and select tools to change the options there on the energy saving features.

Finally, the auto off function on your computer is a Windows question, but one easy answer. If you're on a laptop, you can right click on the battery in the tray (lower right corner) and change the settings for energy conservation.

You might be better off installing the printer via the USB cord and alternately inspiring when you use it, but which is not optimal if you are printing only a few documents on an irregular basis. A network connection is the easiest to manage across multiple computers, honesty, but you have certain requirements for this connection and limits as well.

I hope this information is useful!

  • Problem with installing Laserjet P1102W - Ad-Hoc - can't change mode of Communication of Ad Hoc

I have a printer HP Laserjet P-1102W which was installed in Ad - Hoc mode for a short time.  The unit can, however, connect via USB and works very well in this mode, but I want to use it as a Wifi unit with my router and the APs. The unit has a 20130703 firmware datecode. I need to reset the mode of communication out of the "Ad Hoc" mode.

With the printer is NOT connected through the USB port and holding down the 'X' button to print the "Self Test / Configuration of the device"sheet shows that the status = not connected. " The MAC address displays address 12 characters, the IP address is 0.0.0.0, as is the subnet mask and the gateway. The "IP configured by Hand with the server DHCP/BOOTP = 0.0.0.0 =. The 802.1 b / g Wireless Status = Enabled and the Communication mode = Ad Hoc, SSID = HP4FA96D with authentication = None (open).

I tried to reset the unit by pressing down the wireless and 'X' buttons located on the top of the machine, but this action does not change the mode of further Ad Hoc communication. I looked through the USB print driver in Windows 7 Pro, but can find no access to wireless settings, and as the camera doesn't have an IP address, I can't access the built in web server.

Any suggestions on how to completely reset the unit so the Mode of Communication is NOT "Ad Hoc"?

    Concerning

IT IS FIXED - READ BELOW:

After trying the patches recommended by other users, download the latest firmware, the driver more current and also help in the HPPSdr.exe of the HP program, making a unit restart by pressing both buttons when the device has been propelled to the top (this is only a partial and not completely reset reset) the unit would not clear the AD - Hoc mode and return to the wireless infrastructure mode.

The last step, I tried (without the help of HP or the community) was to find the original disc of 2009 and first install it like a USB connected printer. If successful, then a second set with USB cable attached as a wireless printer. It helped me finally change the settings DHCP wireless, assuming, SSID, etc.. Once completed, and unplugged the USB cable, the printer now works as a printer wireless assuming with my router and access points.

We have NOT ALLEGED on HP support pages for this printer trying to use older software install the disc and make a several step installation - shame on HP!

The community of HP came with some good ideas, suggestions did not fix of unfortuantely this problem. The printer is out of warranty, so HP Corp. would NOT  provide any help (by e-mail or otherwise) unless I used either the HP community or pay them $24.95 for once call phone support. It seemed stupid to pay 25% of the new value of the printer four years ago.

Given this bad experience with the lack of support for current HP products which exceeded their warranty period, I can't recommend HP products to my clients or friends. Shame on HP for this contempt for their customers!

  • Dashboard of data for LabVIEW with ad-hoc wifi?

    Hello

We have a laptop and we run a LabView control and acquisition of data on this subject program. We would like to have access to some of the values of the "indicators through an android tablet, so during an operation manual tap on our facilities, we could see remotely what happens with some measured values in our application LabView.

The ethernet port is not available on this laptop, it is used for a sensor. It has wifi and bluetooth adapter. What would be the easiest solution to access the LabView app on this laptop from the Android device by using the "dashboard of data for LabView" android app? For security reasons, this laptop can't access internet, but of course, we could all just put a near wireless router (and not connect to the internet), and the laptop computer and the android Tablet access the same wifi network. I guess it should work, Yes?

Or is it possible to make a connection to wifi ad-hoc between the laptop and the Tablet and use the DataDashboard? Anyone has any experience with such a solution?

Last question: or what a Bluetooth connection? Might work?

Thanks a lot for the tips!

    Kind regards

    Hi man,

I recommend you connect your tablet as you described.

    | DAQ App |

    | Windows | ---> WiFi---> gateway---> Tablet

I don't think that it is possible to use the Bluetooth with the application of the dashboard of data for Android. I can't find any information on Bluetooth, only for the WiFi.

  • My toshiba satellite pro is connected wireless through a 3g dongle but I can't seem to print on my epson BX600FW printer despite the use of the ad-hoc method

I am really struggling to connect and print wireless. I rang EPSON who suggested that I connected using the AD-HOC method. This method applies to the use of a laptop computer and a wireless printer but without router.

You are therfore impression on an AD-HOC (as and when) basis.

I followed the instructions and created an AD HOC network. The 3g dongle works wirelessly and I can use internet. He told me that the signal strength is excellent. But when I try to print there is no answer. He just informed me that there is no network connection.

I've been around the houses of connection / disconnection to nothing does not. If I tried to remedy the situation from now until midnight, I'd be no closer. Me, that I tried to believe you. So folks, has anyone got any ideas? If I thought that buying a router, that it would be useful, I'd be out immediately and buy a.

Any notice received with gratitude. Thanks in advance.

    Hi charleskeen,

    ·         What operating system do you use?

    ·         Have you ever been able to print before?

Some printers require the initial Setup wired print wireless.

Make sure you have the latest drivers as well.

  • Transmission of data via the Ad Hoc network in LabVIEW

    Hello

I'm trying to transmit some data (position, speed, etc.) a laptop computer to a host computer.

The laptop and desktop have the card installed wireless so I thought this would be a good

the idea of transmitting data via Wi - Fi using TCP.

However, the problem is that there is no router/modem in the area where the laptop is sitting

so, I create a network of Ad-hoc (computer to computer) between the laptop and the desktop computer.

Then, I use "ipconfig/all" in the Windows command prompt to extract the IP as follows.

    IP address wireless laptop: 169.254.165.72

    IP address Wireless Desktop: 169.254.102.126

    Desktop Ethernet IP address: 129.94.229.230

I then use the code example in the TCP library named 'Data Server.vi' and "Data Client.vi."

I listen on port 6340 times the wireless and ethernet desktop on the side map server.

And on the side of the customer, I opened a connection to port 6340 169.254.102.126 IP address.

However, the connection cannot be granted. Anyone know why this is the case?

Note: I have disabled all firewalls.

Interesting, when 2 computers are connected to the same modem, their IP addresses

differ only by the last number (e.g. XXX.XXX. XXX.123 vs XXX.XXX. XXX.256), but when an ad

the House of Commons network is established, their IP addresses have 2 numbers that are different. (XXX.XXX.

102,126 vs XXX. XXX.165.72) I wonder if this has nothing to do with the failure.

    Thanks for all your help.

    Ron Liou

    I somehow this job.

    What I've done

-Once again set up an Ad hoc network for the labtop and Office

-verification of the IP address is always the same

    > Portable wireless IP address: 169.254.165.72

    > Portable wireless subnet mask: 255.255.0.0

    > Wireless Office IP address: 169.254.102.126

    > Wireless Office subnet mask: 255.255.0.0

-switch on the ICS of the ethernet on the desktop card

(This resulted in an IP different addresses assigned beng)

    > Portable wireless IP address: 192.168.137.21

    > Portable wireless Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

    > Wireless Office IP address: 192.168.137.1

    > Office Wireless Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Now I use the ip address of office (192.168.137.1) to open the connection

    and it works! ??

I am very pleased with the fact that it works but I would like to have one

explanation on why it takes an ICS.

    Thank you!

  • If I enable security on an ad hoc network, my Windows 7 client cannot recognize the network at all.

XP host and client windows 7 on ad - hoc network...
Dear friends, I have set up an ad hoc network between two laptops. The host is running on xp sp3 and the client is running windows 7.
Now the problem is that if I enable security on the network, the client windows 7 cannot recognize the network at all.
If I turn off security on the network ad-hoc, everything works fine and I can share files and access the internet on client... Please help

    Ok

Now, I'm pretty sure that I understand your game up. Well done to get the internet connection, sharing of work (not a simple process) but without encryption.

I am sure that the problem lies in the Windows 7 laptop (laptop 2). When you switch cell 1 to WEP, you must also pass portable 2 to WEP and provide the WEP key you have configured with laptop 1.

It's getting late here now, but I'll try to answer tomorrow after I have test it on my two laptops to Windows 7. In the meantime maybe I can point you in the right direction...

    • Right-click the the small icon at the bottom right of your screen on laptop network 2 and then click on Open Network and Sharing Center
    • In network and sharing Center, click on manage networks wireless (nearby at the top left)
    • Click Add, and follow the wizard to create an ad hoc network, selecting WEP and providing the encryption key you configured on the notebook 1
    • Save the network so that you do not have to repeat this procedure.

Otherwise, when you get to manage wireless networks, if your ad hoc network is already listed...

    • Right-click in your ad hoc network, and then click Properties
    • Click the Security tab
    • Change it to WEP and provide the encryption key
    • Click OK

Good luck, I will pick up this new after my drowsiness.
