  You can add photos and videos to photo gallery without automatically including all of the other files stored in the same folder.
  1. open the folder that contains the picture or video you want to add to the photo gallery.

  2. open Windows Photo Gallery by clicking on the Start button, all programs, and then clicking Windows Photo Gallery.

  3. drag the picture or video from the folder to the Photo Gallery window.

  The photo or video is copied to your pictures folder and automatically added to photo gallery.

  If the problem persists, then I suggest you to report in Windows live forums.

  I'm now trying to understand about closed captioning in the photo library. When I add a legend I would expect that the legend would be in the picture, or just below the image, told me in my post on Movie Maker I could enter my captions in photo gallery that I tried this method. In the Poto Gallery I click the Home tab and click on the legends, this box opens on the right side, I enter the legend, I watched the show, I have no captions. So just where this legend is supposed to present?

  While I was watching the slide show in the upper left corner, I saw the Movie Maker, so I clicked to see if the captions are on this site, I never knew the legends. Could someone guide me in the right direction please.

  A really easy way to show legends on a simple slide show,

  Use Windows Media Center,

  WMC will show captions and names of files, that you enter in the windows photo gallery.

  No need to download anything.

  Open, WMC

  Click settings / photos / slideshows.

  Then check the boxes to display the information in file / save and exit.

  Hi Mike,.

  Are you an error when you try to add a legend?  Add Caption function won't add the legend of the actual photo.  Just legend will appear in the details pane of the photo as a way for you to describe the photo.  If it does not appear in the pane of information within the Windows Photo Gallery, then everything works correctly.  If this isn't the case, please let us know so that we can continue to troubleshoot.  Please see using Windows and how the article below for more information on tagging and captioning to your photos.  Thank you and please let us know if you have any other questions.

  -A slider effect can be added using layers or button form fields that contain images and then use the button to show/hide these items when you click it.

  You will not get the fancy transition effects you have on the web pages, but it will display a picture after another

  -What kind of legends? Just the text that appears beside them? It's something you should do in the authoring application, before converting the file to PDF.

  Did you try to rename or delete your Pictures.pd5 file?
  After doing so, the next time you open WLPG a new .pd5
  the file will be created and your photo gallery must be such that it
  the first time you opened it.

  In later versions of Windows Live Photo Gallery...
  the name of the file is Pictures.pd5.

  After Renaming Pictures.pd5 you will need to re-catalogue
  your photos. If rename Pictures.pd5 does not resolve the

  change the name of the original file to Pictures.pd5

  You can add captions using the legend adds at the bottom of the details pane. When looking for images using the search box, you can find pictures using caption text to exactly in the same way that you can find pictures using tags and file names.

  Fix Windows Live photos from Add/Remove programs or programs and features.  If this does not work, please proceed to uninstalling the app.  It was formerly no Ospreys wing, please proceed with the download and reinstall the application.  I hope that this information is beneficial.

• Live Photo Gallery Photo Viewer background color

  I just installed the latest Windows Live Photo Gallery version 2009 (Build 14.0.8064.206). I don't write to complain, but I have to tell you that I had to install this because the past years would crash and tell me that my dear photo files were missing or corrupt. I hope that this latest version no longer has this problem. It seems to be the same, with the exception of a few minor changes in the image viewer. All I want is to change the black as it used to be rather than the white, than what I have now. I liked the way my photos looked on this background. Is it possible that I can change this?

  Hi Shane,
  This isn't what I want to do.  This program is the only one I want with a black background.  I know it sounds picky, but the pictures looked better like this and there was a richer texture to them when scrolling. Someone Photo Gallery team must also feel this way because the show has a black background.

  I appreciate your suggestion, but I think I'll just wait for an update and maybe the background will change then.  I would also add that Photo Gallery had not planted with the new version.
