Add/Remove Programs does not locate all my programs installed after the replacement of hard disk

I recently had to replace the hard drive of my laptop.  We have cloned the original on the new hard drive.  The programs are all visible in Windows Explorer in the directory program files.  However, they are in the utility "Add/Remove Programs".  I can't open the program in exe files.  I am told by the manufacturer of software, in one case, I need to uninstall the program and reinstall it.  I can't uninstall it without the Add/Remove utility (or can I?)  Thanks for your comments

As the forums MS Answers does not prompt for any information system when a new question is asked, we know absolutely nothing about your system.

Not knowing the basic information a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues.

Click Start, run and enter the following command:

Click OK and you should see a message like this:

Restart and see how things look now.

  • Add a program installed in the Start Menu

The Kindle for PC application appears pinned at the top of the Start Menu, but not in the menu below.

I would like to "unpin" it but want to be able to access it from the Start Menu.

The help file is no help.

Sorry, there is a misunderstanding: you can put a program in the menu all programs.  I thought that you wanted to put in the box above that.

If you want to put in the menu all programs, here's how:

    1. Click all programs and choose open
    2. Drag the icon into the folder that appears (as you say, it's like Windows 95/98)

It should put there when the program is installed, but the Setup program takes this decision, some programs do not, others give the user a choice.

For email alerts, can you check your profile page (here) and see if there is e-mail address listed correctly?

    Hello

So why the program only started compared to the creative clouds?

    Adobe Dreamweaver CC 2015

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Thanks for all the help.

After making that Dreamweaver is not started, I restarted my computer, and then everything has worked.

  • Brightness (key or setting) setting does not work on HP Envy17 2290nr after the loading of Windows 8?

After the upgrade to windows 8, why the brightness adjustment is no longer works on HP Envy17 2290nr?  Went to set the charms and brightness controls do not work here either.

Hello DJSZCZEP.  I understand you are having some problems with control of the brightness of your laptop in Windows 8.

HP is still drivers for the update for Windows 8.   Most laptops that have been purchased after October 1, 2011 must be supported at the time.  Here a link to more information on the upgrade to Windows 8 and HP.

The support page for your laptop does not currently listed drivers for Windows 8.  This does not mean that Windows 8 does not work on your laptop.  This simply means that some features and functions may not be available. Advanced features like the brightness control can be handled by the driver itself and require a complete driver for features.  Your the tender specifications lists the video card like the ATI Radeon 6850 M.  Here are the drivers for the 64-bit version of Windows 8.  Try using these drivers and tell me if this solves the problem.

Keep an eye on the support page of your product for updates, including drivers for Windows 8.  I hope it's useful.

    Gentleperson,

I am looking for a solution fix my PC, HP Pavilion Slimline. Windows install Office 2007 (Outlook), add/remove programs and the system restore will not work. The apparent problem is a file corrupted in the system, based on the forums of Windows and Office 2007 and published articles.

    I tried the following:

    • Retore system Mode safe mode and in Safe Mode network - without success
    • In Normal Mode Windows Vista will not respond to the system restore or the Add/Remove programs - without success
    • Chkdsk/r - unsuccessfully
    • sfc/scannow won't answer - no success
    • Msconfig.exe helped with a clean boot; However, this does not solve the problem...
    • Windows Installer is in auto status, but can not start; I have a 1053 error messsage... too slow

As it can be seen, there is a problem with my operating system. I have a recovery disk to format my PC in its original configuration. However, I have not saved my files that I won't lose to the formatting. Please advice.

    Thanks in advance,

  • Withdrawal of obsolete lists in the Add/Remove program list?

I'm working on the clean-up of an older system running Windows XP Pro. The system has two hard drives... whose the second crashed and burned in a fatal way. Software that has been installed on the second drive hard disappeared and is not installed on the replacement drive. The problem this presents, although perhaps minor but annoying, however, is that programs that were on the second disc appear on the Add/Remove Programs list, accessed via the Control Panel, even if they are no longer really exist on the system. Is there a good way to clean the list add/remove program entries for programs that have been lost and never be recovered due to a failure of hard drive like that? Also, are there any other proceedures recommended to clean all traces of system programs that have been lost in this way? Try to remove the traces of these programs using the Add/Remove list does not of course because the entries in the list of reference locations and files that no longer exist.

    Thank you.

Download ccleaner from piriform. Click Tools > uninstall. Highlight the entries that appear, but is really installed. Then choose Delete. Reformatting is an extreme measure for a simple issue resloved. Regarding running the ccleaner registry cleaning tool, that I personally used for several years without a single incident. This does not apply to all the registry tools however.

    CCleaner - home

It is also a trustworthy tool.

  • deleted programs manually always appear in the list, add/remove programs

I have a large number of programs I uninstalled, but they still appear in Add/Remove program with the button Delete. Using the button Delete has nothing else that wasting time by telling me that he was unable to find the components. I went to the registry editor and manually delete all programs. I then checked the list Add/Remove programs and programs have disappeared. Then, I closed the registry editor and check the Add/Remove Programs list. The programs appear once more, this time without a button Delete. When I go back to the registry editor, the programs have disappeared. How to make them out of the Add/Remove Programs list?

That all sounds pretty messed - too bad you took this approach.

It is also a pity that forums MS Answers does not ask for any information system when a new question is asked, so we don't know anything about your system.

  • Remove programs that don't let you do it from the Add/Remove programs in XP screen

I am running Windows XP.  A week or two ago while logging into my account, the program Sonic Record now kept wanting to connect to update.  However, when Sonic Update Manager was trying to "collect data" it gave an error that the network does not work (I'm not on a network).  Anyway, I got feed with this and tried to remove the program under the screen XP Add/Remove programs.  The program is there, but when you click it, it will not bring up the screen so you can remove it.  And I went to programs on the C:\ drive and deleted the folder of the program did a reboot.  No luck.  The Sonic program always tries to use the Manager to update.  Also, I tried to reload the program using the disc that came with the computer when I bought it.  I get a message saying essentially that I need to remove the current program first.  However, the program Sonic record has already been deleted.

What I do next and how remove a program in Add/Remove Program screen, after clicking on the program, it won't bring the option to remove?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you very much.

Try to remove with this tool.
