Add Remove programs listed that have been uninstalled

I have a few listed in Add or remove programs that have been uninstalled, so they are ghosts. How can I remove them?

Thanks for the reply. I was trying to avoid the need for you to change the registry, but, I have now, it seems that it will be the only option. Carefully follow the instructions HERE .

    Hello Michael,

    Welcome to Apple Support communities.

I see that you need assistance, removal of GarageBand ringtones that were uninstalled. I know it's nice to be able to properly manage your tones. I can help you with this.

Use the article for iOS (iPad) 2.0.x GarageBand: GarageBand share songs, more precisely, this section:

To remove the existing ringtones follow these steps:

    • Press to select, then press the button Delete for any ringtone you want to delete.

    • Drag a ringtone in the list, and then press delete.

  • Withdrawal of obsolete lists in the Add/Remove program list?

I'm working on the clean-up of an older system running Windows XP Pro. The system has two hard drives... whose the second crashed and burned in a fatal way. Software that has been installed on the second drive hard disappeared and is not installed on the replacement drive. The problem this presents, although perhaps minor but annoying, however, is that programs that were on the second disc appear on the Add/Remove Programs list, accessed via the Control Panel, even if they are no longer really exist on the system. Is there a good way to clean the list add/remove program entries for programs that have been lost and never be recovered due to a failure of hard drive like that? Also, are there any other proceedures recommended to clean all traces of system programs that have been lost in this way? Try to remove the traces of these programs using the Add/Remove list does not of course because the entries in the list of reference locations and files that no longer exist.

    Thank you.

Download ccleaner from piriform. Click Tools > uninstall. Highlight the entries that appear, but is really installed. Then choose Delete. Reformatting is an extreme measure for a simple issue resloved. Regarding running the ccleaner registry cleaning tool, that I personally used for several years without a single incident. This does not apply to all the registry tools however.

  • Generic icon in the Add/Remove Programs list

Hello to you all, useful forum fans!

I have a nice custom icon that I built in my specs of the executable version, but when I use an installer to install my program, the icon in the Add/Remove Programs list is the software generic one (with the box open and CD).  How can I get my custom icon to use in the list as well?  I'm using LabVIEW 8.5.1 (and wishing my company should pay for 2010! ).

    Thanks for your help,

How can I remove a program are not not in the control panel: Add/Remove program list? I have a shortcut to a program called "Smart Engine" that pops up right on my desk. I can't find under anything else to remove it. I have remove the shortcuts, but they reappear everytime I restart.

Smart Engine is a Trojan horse...  If you have MalwareBytes installed, try to run...  If this does not work (and it might because Smart Engine will try to stop it).  Click here for additional removal instructions...

  • And how does one remove Christmas lights that have been offered as a decoration for the top and shifts of the screen. They tend to hide the navigation bar.

And how one removes the Christmas lights that have been offered as a decoration for the top and bottom of the screen. They tend to hide the navigation bar. Several days ago Firefox gave the 'dress-up' in a message.

It seems that https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/christmas-lights/ is added as an extension, but is categorized as a character (lightweight themes). Go to tools > Modules then check extensions and themes, and then uninstall it.

Now that the status bar is now the toolbar addons that I see those that are listed are all personas and they do not affect the toolbar addons you would also find a theme, and think that it must be very confused now that I no longer able to filter topics with a Google addons research - phooey.

Extensions can be identified with intitle: Add - ons and have changed my research of extension add-ons accordingly.

You have several answers in your other thread: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistaappearance/thread/d92288f4-0a8a-4d9c-9906-ce0755614fed.

Please post a question only once in these forums.  Unlike chat rooms, posting several times not you will get answers more quickly.  In fact, because the responses and the responses can be split between multiple threads, it can take even more time before you get the answer you want and you will probably see the same recommendations and requests further information in multiple threads (and when a notice of the administrator, the son will be merged anyway).  Please be patient and someone will get back to you later.  It also makes it more difficult for people seeking answers to similar problems, because they think that they have several different situations that could help them when in fact it's the same situation only duplicate and so they must travel more threads - and is not good.

    Thanks and good luck!
