  Based on our discussion in class, it seems indeed as part of your existing code is written in a very specific way which is not entirely compatible with the XNET approach.

  Indeed, it would be useful to have 2 separate versions of this init VI (and other CAN-code) of your code and allow you to decide which one to run your top-level application, depending on the setting used.
  A HAL as approach could still be used in this case.

  I did a server using LabView application. The application translates simplified data of a device and translated them into more complex protocol with another party. The problem is that responses from my application take too long. I tried to analyze the response time in wireshark, and the NIC accepts data in time, but the function "Read the Protocol TCP/IP" labview returns with delay, sometimes several seconds.

  The application uses asynchronous calls to perform the communication for each parallel of client modules.

  I had a nonreentrant function reading tcp/ip common to all modules of communication cloned, while they were blocking execution for the other (facepalm).

  I'm building a VI that returns a list of all the side screws and their auxiliary screws, etc., a given top-level VI.  I first open a reference giving the path to the top-level VI, and then use the property 'Called' to get the subVIs. I then (in a loop) get all each Subvi conscripts by opening a reference using the name of the previous output called string. I noticed something when I ask for conscripts by the string name of XYZ.vi, that I get all its subvis, but I also have a XYZ.vi:Instance:0 name returned. What is the purpose of the proceeding: 0 and why is it happening? I like understand why Instance: x would never get added to the name, and also why VI would return his name in the property called? The VI is not defined as re-enterent or calling themselves dynamically or anything like that.

  I continued to study your issue now I am back in the office, with my LabVIEW machine and resources OR. I concluded and also since found a confirmation of this issue.

  For a first level VI which has a few express screws on its block diagram, the names of the callee property currently includes a single instance of the upper level for each express VI VI.
  For example, if a VI has two ExpressVIs in the block diagram. The property called node will return two instances of the toplevel VI.

  First level VI = mainVI.vi

  Express VI = delay

  Result name called: mainVI:Instance0 (number lists according to the order screw Express are deleted from the diagram.)

  : first level VI name: InstanceX

  The problem is if you use VI server that this name is not valid - and causes a VI Server error. So I think it would be pretty safe filter these names.

• Adding library folder returns an error ""this network location cannot be included because it is not indexed.

  I'm trying to share my MUSIC on my Windows Home Server (WHS) folder in my music library.  Here's how my MUSIC folder is organized:

  MUSIC
  -> Songs1
  -> Songs2
  -> Songs3
  -> Chansons4
  -> Chansons5

  Quite simply structure, so thought that this should not be a problem. If I add the entire folder to the library only 1/3 of my songs are listed. In trying to understand what is happening, I found that only 2 to 5 subfolders under the MUSIC are included (songs.1 and chansons5).

  Again, I deleted the folder "MUSIC" from the library and then add each indivually subfolder. What I found is I might add 2 subfolders (songs.1 and chansons5), but adding that the 3 other subfolders returns an error message, "" the network location cannot be included because it is not indexed".  If I add a new folder under MUSIC I can't add it to the library either.

  I think it should have some type of security or user problem, but can't think of what it would be, since some of the subfolders under the MUSIC can be recognized, while others, including the new folders cannot be added. Someone at - it suggestions?

  I would add that I have no problem with adding my video or picture file to my WHS library.

  Problem has been solved - thought I would post an update if someone of another encounter this type of behavior.

  By continuing to try to understand why only the music files on my server would not be updated I fell into my "homegroup". I checked the settings and noticed that 'MUSIC' was not checked in the "Shared libraries and printers' (don't know why or how). I then checked the box and now I can move my files on the server and the path is updated in the library.

• Help adding 1 TB HDD Mini 2012 with SSD

  I have a Mac Mini end 2012 which came with the 256 GB SSD with El Capitan.  Given that I all filled which I want to add another drive.  I bought a HARD drive of 1 TB with OWC data backup kit.  Thought that I would create my own fusion drive.  I found several articles on creating a disc of fusion when adding a new SSD but haven't found any when you add a HARD drive.  Has anyone here done and it's the same process, i.e. have erase the two drives, reinstall the OS, etc.?  Wouldn't be better to add the second drive and keep it separate for less used data or am I better off the coast of the creation of the fuser unit?

  The process for the fuser unit is the same. Format/erase the two disks, then when you install El Capitan. It will automatically be setup as a fusion drive.

  It's yours if you want a merger player. Do you have the stuff that you need a very fast access that would take more than 200 GB? If so, use a Fusion drive.

  I myself would not expect that this is the case. I don't like disks of melting given that if a disk fails you lose everything on both drives.

  Fusion drives have been more desirable/justifiable in the past if it is high (> 120 GB) SSD were expensive.
