Because this computer has only 2 sata data headers, it is implicit that you don't have the choice. He has No. secondary drive Bay. You might consider cloning from the old drive to the new.

  • When asked does not accept the 2nd disk to download files

Recently, I downloaded all the files for CS2. There are 3 online for CS2 configuration files.  There was an another daughter for Extras and a zipped to go live.  I click on disc 1 and he started very well, put in my code, when he asked for it.  Then, he asked me to insert disk 2, I had them in the same folder and I thought he could see it. not having not other options, I went back in the folder and double clicked on disc 2, even if it started at the request of insert disc 2 remained, and the only application installed was Photoshop.  I even went so far as to burn all files on an individual disk and insert them when it ask you and still did not work?

then 2nd disk file creates and extracts in a wrong directory.  all the extracted files should be moved to the directory created by the first extraction of disc.

    Then, run the Setup file.

How to do two hard drives on the a1020n Pavilion, after adding a new hard drive for my existing CPU?  My old hard drive is out, so I will install a new hard drive, redefinition of the new hard drive, but I still want to have access to the old disk until I have transferred all my personal files to the new drive.  I saw answers to self-help.

Yes. I often throw in additional disks other PC as a second drive... just give Windows a minute or two to find and configure the drives after their installation. You can use the Explorer to browse the file structure.

  • adding the 2nd Time Machine disk backup capability

I have a Mac pro OS X 10.11.5 with two discs devoted to the backup. When I wanted the first filled to the top, then add the second to continue archiving backup files.

I don't want to lose my older archived data in backups on disk 1.

What happens when I add a second drive to add capacity to the Time Machine backups?  Once the first drive is hard full TM then will use the second drive until it is full?

When you add the second drive, I get a warning that the TM will take turns using the disc 1 and disc 2. But 1 disk is full. TM will not delete old information on Drive 1 to make room? If Yes is not good because I want to keep the old data. I just want to keep incremental backups to Drive 2.

    Please specify the feature.

Yes, TM will continue to save on disk 1 and delete older backups and take turns with disk 2. If you want to keep 1 as it is by car, then you must remove it from the list of backup. Start a new backup on disk 2, and continue. In both cases, the disc 2 will make a new full backup of your computer.

  • where to put the 2nd disk to the 500-281 Pavilion?

I have reviewed the online documentation and have actually looked inside the computer, but don't see where a 2nd SATA drive is supposed to be installed.  I saw additional power cables, understand where the cable plugs into the card mother, quite familiar with how to add a disk.  But on this PC I do not a priori where the reader will.

As I write, I also want to confirm that the 300W power supply is sufficient for the extra drive.

    Thank you.

    Hello

You power supply is sufficient for additional hard disks. However, depending on your model, it may or may not be a provision for one SSD 2.5 ".  You need to open your PC and air.  Please see the image below.

In fact, the SSD hard drive or 2.5 "Monte on the side of the chassis in. Review the information that is displayed in this thread. You will need a SATA data cable.

See the reference for a double 3.5 "disk hard stackable crochet in the same thread.

  • Recovery disk is deletes the data at the 2nd disk on Satellite A300?

    Hello
I use a laptop Toshiba A300, which has 2 hard drives (250GB). The laptop has Windows Vista Home Edition 32-bit installed, but I want to change for Windows Vista 64-bit, which comes with the recovery disk, in order to use all 4 GB of RAM.

I have all the backup data and move them to the 2nd HARD drive (D, C named first name).

So I wonder if Recovery Wizard will delete the data of the two hard disks or just a 1st.

    Thanks in advance
    Kevin

    Hello

Your laptop was equipped with HARD drive recovery option allows you to create the own Toshiba Recovery disk which would be contains the preinstalled operating system.
In your case the Vista 32 bit.

And Yes, install from the recovery disk format the whole HARD drive and removes all the disk, also of the second partition.

That's why to create the recovery disk before you install or change anything on the HARD drive

  • Problem adding a hard disk for Pavilion Elite HPE - 380 t

    Hello

I am trying to replace my existing drive with a new WD 1 TB hard drive. So I intend to install the new WD drive as the 2nd drive, and then run the utility WD Acronis to clone the original to the new drive.

However, when I install the new disk, the BIOS recognizes it, but I think it appears in Windows 7 such as D drive, but it does not work. When I run Acronis, he says that it doesn't detect any WD drive.

I went into the BIOS and ran the test drive / self-test and it passed.

I noticed that the SATA1 controller is enabled. He didn't check before installing the drive.

The controller SATA1 mode is RAID. Not sure that it was previously.

Oh, and I plugged the new drive SATA cable into the connector of the motherboard directly next to the SATA connector as my original drive.

    Everyone through this? Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance,

    Steve

You are right. It was the answer, sort of. When I started Windows 7, I went in the new disk drives and active management. I let the system assign drive letters. I then rebooted.

Then when I came back to Windows, I was able to run the original utility WD Acronis True Image to clone my source drive to the new drive. When finished, stop the system, removed my original drive and the new drive my only drive.

Everything works beautifully. I managed to replace my hard drive.

    Thanks for the tip.

  • HP Envy 17 t-n100 (NOU68AV): adding a 2nd SSD to a HP Envy 17 t

I installed a second (PNY CS1311 960 GB) SSD in my HP Envy 17 t, which is not always recognized.  After the initial installation, I could see in disk management, create a new simple volume and mount it as a record.  Everything worked well.  After the first reboot, the volume was missing and I was unable to find it in disk management.  I removed the DDI and connected using a USB/SATA cable.  The volume is good, so I figured that the internal SATA cable was bad.  I ordered a new one and installed, but the drive has not yet been recognized.  I double checked the cable and it was installed correctly.  After a few reboots suddenly the drive has been recognized again.  I was able to use the volume until the next reboot, when he disappeared again.  Any idea what might cause this behavior?

I cloned the original 1 TB 5400 RPM HARD drive on a new CS1311 of PNY 120 GB SSD.  I wanted to have the OS and applications on the 120 GB and add the PNY CS1311 960 GB SSD in the 2nd Bay for all my other files that I also have off-site backup.  Given that the laptop can see the 2nd occasionally by car, I cloned the original HDD to the 960 GB SSD.  The laptop works fine with just the 960 GB SSD in the first Bay.  This isn't the configuration I wanted, but it will work.

  • ENVY dv7-7390el: problem with installation of a 2nd disk (SSD)

    Hello everyone.

I want to put a 2nd hard drive in my laptop (dv7-7390el ENVY). It's a Samsung SSD (model: 850 PRO - 512 GB of RAM).

However, even if I did first initialization with USB cable because it is new, when I link the new component using its cable to the motherboard port 2nd HARD drive and that I turn on the laptop it does not detect anything.

In any case, I also tried to put a different device, another HARD disk, but the problem is the same, it is nowhere.

How can I do to find it and then use it? Could someone help me?

    Concerning

OK, I had a slightly newer model that is very similar, the series of 17 t - j000 want and also got a second basket of newmodeus.com. It finally worked but the anchor of the water was very small and it took 2 or 3 tries to get the systΦme can recognize the second hard drive. You must host the cable 'so '. If you do not have it HP or newmodeus.com I'd be skeptical on the cable.

  • Adding a replacement disk in a RAID 5 (PERC S300) replacement hot

I scoured through comments and think I have the solution almost, but would confirm or correct if possible.

Have a PowerEdge R310, four 500 GB drives, RAID 5, with one of these defined as Global Hot Spare drives.  One of the spare wheel failed, hot (003) disks has done its job and kept during the RAID.

Put in the replacement drive in and can see it is Ready on physical disks via manage open.  More I noticed that he as a Non Raid virtual drive virtual drives.

I thought it was to automatically rebuild the RAID after the disc has been inserted, but it didn't.  I started to reconfigure it on existing RAID, hoping to choose the new disk and start the reconstruction, but he doesn't see the new drive as a physical drive.  I guess that's because the system has assigned the new drive as a new virtual disk.

I remove the new virtual disk, and then run the reconfigure statement the existing virtual disk of RAID 5 to add the new drive?

I hope this makes sense and I appreciate any help!  Right now my server is in place and very well, but these 500 GB drives are reliable - I lost an another late last year and replaced him.

    SBlades
Thanks for the quick response.  If I already have a spare drive (the one who took over after the failure of the other disk), it will allow me to do the new hot spare?

This player is no longer a "rescue." It is now a member of the array fully operational. You don't have a spare drive. It is also possible to have two hot-spare set.

    SBlades
I run the Reconfiguration on the RAID 5 in Open Manager after the non - RAID VD is removed?

No, Reconfigure will EXPAND a virtual disk, usually by adding a physical drive. So if you have a 3-drive RAID 5, you insert a new disk and run the statement reconfigures, you might reconfigure your 3-drive RAID 5 to 4 drive RAID 5 (is worth a drive to storage space by adding to your table/server) or a 4-drive RAID 6 (essentially a RAID 5 with a disc of relief, but instead of relief being a non-member member - only standyby player - help is integrated with the table as a full member. the RAID array results in an additional parity so that two disks can fail while maintaining the availability of the matrix, rather than wait for a player to fail before starting the reconstruction to become a member of the table; RAID 6 is usually best when using very large capacity disks).

  • 2nd disk on Dell OptiPlex 780 Mini-Tower

I want to install a 2nd SATA Seagate 148 gb SATA HDD on my OptiPlex 780 minitower. The drive is physically mounted in the machine and the power cable that extends from the disk HARD existing fits perfectly in place. I had to go buy a 18 "SATA 7 pin data Cable available from the drive to the motherboard.

Looks like there are two SATA containers-by-side in the middle section of the motherboard. A feed beige plastic and the other in black.

Does make a difference that the one that I use?

Is there another container, should I use instead of these?  Locate where?

After hanging hardware, what I need to do to get the machine to recognize the new HARD drive when booting?

    Thank you

The colors are to let you know which port is 0 then 1 then 2, then 3, etc. White port is #3 the orange cable goes from the optical drive sata 1 connector blue is the boot disk which is SATA 0. After connecting the power supply and data, you go into BIOS Setup and turn on SATA2.

  • Toshiba Recovery - 2nd disk does not work

    Hi all

I wanted to recover my original Windows I created 2 DVDs when I bought the laptop.
the first DVD worked OK and erased everything, so he will not read my second DVD although it seems in good condition for me and can be read on other devices.

is there a way I can recover my original windows?

I tried pressing 0 at startup but no use.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

It is a very bad situation now. All you can do is try again. Make the second DVD clean and try again.
I really hope that it works somehow. If this isn't the case, you have a big problem.

Before recovery image installation starts any HARD drive will be formatted so there is no chance to start installation of disk recovery HARD from the HARD disk (using 0 at startup).
