    Hello

I want to improve my iMac, by adding memory cards.

My problem is not sure about the maximum limit of memory can I add I m.

Can you tell me if it's 32 GB or 16 GB or 12 GB?

Each location must have the same value or if we can mix different sizes of memory?

How is the maximum that iMac 11.3 with i7 processor supports? 32 GB, 16 GB or 12 GB?

    Thank you very much!

  • a reason for adding the station wifi?

I have a mac additional wifi station and I got it in my living room where, on the net, I get a lot. the time capsule that broadcasts my wifi is in the office down the Hall.

adding the station wifi in my living room will help with a question that mail get hung up and not updated?

This will help the speed of my connection?

I originally bought it for the trip, but I'm not find much use for it on the road and am thinking of using it at home.

    THANKS for any help

adding the station wifi in my living room will help with a question that mail get hung up and not updated?

    Unlikely.

This will help the speed of my connection?

    Maybe, probably not.

Is your Mac faster when near the time Capsule, when in the living room?  There is a good chance, with a local access point will help.

When you look at the WiFi menu bar icon.  You have full bars (good), or is it partial (perhaps a repeater would help)?

If you 'Option' click the WiFi icon is your in-30, - 40, - 50 RSSI value '?  and your noise value in the - 80-90, you are actually pretty good.

Then chances are that you get a signal strong enough.

You can check all the contradictory signals in your area via 'Option', click the WiFi icon--> select Wireless Diagnostics

In the Wireless Diagnostics menu find "Utilities", then select the Wi - Fi Analysis tab, or the menu will just sweep "Wi - Fi", you choose (depends on when Apple changed the Wireless Diagnostics menus.

Performs a Scan of Wi - Fi will show you your's and your neighbor's WiFi access points.

You want to focus on the channels, the RSSI and sound columns.

Channels: You don't want to use the same channel as a neighbour, unless their SECURITY is very low (-70, of-80 to-90), _and_ your RSSI is strong (-30,-40,-50).  If it is a 2.4 GHz channel, you also a 5-channel separation between you is your nighbor harder.  Channels 1, 6 and 11 do not overlap and are common choices, especially if you have several access points in your home.  Once again, if the neighbors have weak signals, you don't really care, because you interfere not with them, and they do not interfere with you.

5 GHz channels do not overlap and are also much faster than the 2.4 GHz channels.

But that doesn't mean that you do not want to play with this material.

We know the Apple Time Capsule.  Is the "wireless Station" an Airport Express?  Or some 3rd party WiFi router/AP to access?

If an Airport Express Terminal, you can use Airport utility to extend your network.  Is not ideal, but easy to install.  Just make sure when you put the Airport Express is a place where it receives a good signal of the time Capsule, otherwise it's just trying to spread the wrong signal as it gets.  Wireless diagnosis can be useful to identify a good location.

A performance-based approach is to run the Ethernet of the time Capsule to what is your WiFi Station.  Set up the device, then it shuts down its functions of router (Apple calls this 'bridge', other Mode to do this disable you DHCP and NAT services).  You give the WiFi Station a different channel (see above discussion of channel overlap).  You give the WiFi Station the exactly the same WiFi (SSID) name and the password.  Now you will have setup a network of 'Roaming', where the devices will pass you to a different when access point channel it uses currently becomes too low.

This will help the speed of my connection?

Another criterion for speed, is how fast your ISP connection vs how old is your WiFi router.

If you use 5 GHz channels, you can then begin to worry about this when your ISP speed starts to become well above 50megabits/s

If you use only 2.4 GHz channels, 15-25' ish speeds are OK on 802.11 g.  802.11n is a little more efficient and can tighten increasingly close to 40-50' ish speeds.

If you have more than 100megabits per second, you want to have a router with 802.11ac protocols up-to-date and a newer Mac with 802.11ac support.

This requires that you are the only consumer of your ISP connection.  If you share with your family, and there are lots of type YouTube and Netflix streaming, so your Mac doesn't have to have 802.11ac, but you don't want to a fast router in support of all the other devices sharing the bandwidth.  In this case a 2nd access point connected via ethernet can help share the problems of band radio bandwidth.

I originally bought it for the trip, but I'm not find much use for it on the road and am thinking of using it at home.

I have access to 5 GHz 802.11ac very cheap $10 point (not a router), I take with me.  I plug it into the ethernet port on the hotel or a router condo rented for give me a channel which is not sung from neighboring access points and shared connections.  I find that the hotel WiFi is often low, and you share the connection with a ton of other guests.  In a rented condo, you have tons of other condos all competing for 2.4 GHz channels (co-owners often get a cheap router 2.4 GHz 802.11 g, so everyone tries to find a channel not used).  Having my own 5 GHz WiFi access point means that I have no need to fight with others for bandwidth and the right channels.

Just thought I'd pass that along.  And the wireless diagnostic tests are a great way to find out what the competition is where you stay.

  • What are the cards WiFi are Equium A60-692-compatible?

    Hi all
I have a Toshiba Equium A60-692 (model: PSA67E-001001EN). It has a wifi, lid at the rear for a wifi card, but I can't seem to find a list of anywhere where wifi cards are compatible. Someone would be able to provide me with a list of compatible cards!

Some people said that the Toshiba Equium A60-692 does not support a Wifi but as there is a sign for one at the back I guess that it is wifi ready! In the connectivity for the Athros Wizard, he says also there a 1394 connection, but it does not have a card.

I found a few on ebay and I want to know if they will be compatible:

    (1) Toshiba 802. 11a / g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card - Netzwerkkarte, Mini PCI - 802. 11 b, 802. 11A, 802. 11 g, PA3298U-1MPC

    (2) Toshiba WLAN Mini PCI PA3300U-1MPC 54 megabit 802.11 g/b

    (3) TOSHIBA WLAN MINI PCI 54 Mbps 802. 11a / b PA3273U-1MPC

    (4) Toshiba PA3300U-2MPC card WiFi Kit 802.11 g 54 Mbps NEU

Thank you for your time and I look forward to your responses!

    Hello

If s said Atheros has a connection 1394 so I guess this means that the firewire.
The IEEE 1394 mean the firewire connection available on this laptop.

Anyway, the WiFi network is not available and if you want to use WLan technology on your laptop if you use the WLAN USB key. It is the simplest way to connect to the wireless LAN.

I want really to hold own/quick wifi ac card to work on my laptop, but it seems that the mission impossible.

    Why is it so difficult?

The FRU number is Lenovo from restriction by changing the card wifi of their system. There are members who have found maps with numbers of RUF in Ebay. However I don't know if it will work in your case. Indeed, it is difficult to replace the wifi card in units of Lenovo.

    Options that you can take:

    1. ask your BIOS modified. You can install any card without the FRU. However, it is risky because the bios could be destroyed.

    2. use a USB wifi dongle. There is no restrictions for these devices. And it's also cheap.

    3. look for the wifi with a FRU number card in Ebay.

Hi, I want to upgrade the card wifi realtek to one that has the 5 GHz conection, I don't know if my laptop can be upgraded to for example Intel AC 7260 or one that has 5 ghz

See your service manual. It seems that Intel Wireless-N 7260BN 802.11 bgn 2 x 2 Wi - Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo adapter will work. Part number 717384-001 replacement (google this number to check availability).

  • Using the card wifi Intel N5300 T420

    First post.

The card wifi Intel N1000 on my T420 just broken and I have a T400 sitting there for years. I wonder if I can use the wifi card in to work with T420 T400.

    The card wifi T400 Intel N5300's is a full-size PCI-e card

The card wifi T420 is intel N1000, it is a half-size PCI-e card

In T420, there is a position near the site of the ram to the back of the portable computer, which can operate with a PCI-e size. Is it possible to intall the Intel N5300 here? Or that there is WAN only?

    Thank you

  • My ASPIRE V5 - 552P card WiFi Upgrade

    Hey guys.

I have an Acer Aspire V5 552P - X 404 with Windows 10 x 64 instaled. I am trying to replace the card supplied with the laptop (Atheros AR5B22 PCI-E) wireless with a card that has AC wireless cabability I found on Amazon (Azure Broadcom BCM94352HMB/BCM94352 PCI - E https://www.amazon.com/AzureWave-Broadcom-BCM94352HMB-BCM94352-867Mbps/dp/B00JY6X9HM). I recently tried the Intel AC-7260 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E7QGHE6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and although the map fit perfectly and the antennas installed very well, my laptop wouldn't start windows, it just sitting there with a blank screen. I assumed it was something to do with the motherboad is is not compatible with the Intel wireless card. I updated all the drivers on my laptop for the recent ounces and tried many different things to obtain Intel to work, but they all failed.

If anyone knows if the AzureWave Broadcom card work? Thanks and sorry for being a noob. I DID do some research before this announcement.

Here are the cards Wifi what acer says will work.

    Liteon 3rd WiFi 2 x 2 AGN + Broadcom BT4.0 20702 43228 + (2 x 2 WiFi 43228 AGN + BT4. 20702 DB 0) NC.23611.003

    Liteon 3rd WiFi 2 x 2 AGN + BT4.0 Atheros WB222 NI.23600.103

    Foxconn 3rd WiFi 2 x 2 AGN + BT4.0 Atheros WB222 NI.23600.102

    Foxconn 3rd WiFi 2 x 2 AGN + Broadcom BT4.0 20702 43228 + (2 x 2 WiFi 43228 AGN + BT4. 20702 DB 0) NI.23600.100

If you want AC, you'll just have to try Wifi cards until you find one that works. Acer do not use whitelists in the bios then it will be just a compatibility / driver problem.

  • 1506 wireless card WiFi

I just got a Latitude E7440, it came equipped with the card WiFi Dell Wireless 1506.  I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 - bit.  There is a single driver for this card under Windows 7 64, that is the driver wireless Dell Wireless 1506 version 10.0.0.227, A01.  This 'pilot' charge not only the driver for the card, but also additional costs associated applications WiFi.  The installation of this driver does not have a "custom" installation option, it installs it wants to install.  One of the applications that it installs is called the Application wireless unified, which seems to be an application of Qualcomm.

I'm trying to find just the driver for this card, not all partners software applications that Dell seems to think that we need.  Anyone know where I can download/install just the driver for this card?
