Adding a video card second second opinion of monitor

I have a HP Pavilion HPE h8 model - 1360t.  It has a Radeon HD 7550 video card.  I would like to add a second monitor and I need a second video card.  It must be a PCI Express x 16.  Can I use an old Series 6000 Radeon card or need a newer series 7000.  I was chatting with a tech support and asked him and he gave me 4 cards of the hd series 7000 I could use.  But I can not find but one of them and I would go less if possible.

Jim

If they are monitors Dell 1901fp, they support the VGA and DVI - D. Please check that there is VGA and DVI - D time ports. Your card will work without needing to be replaced. Connect as follows:

Computer > DVI - D cable > monitor #1

Technology > cable HDMI-DVI > Monitor #2

    Hello Dennis,.

Too many changes on the hardware and Windows/Microsoft thinks you might be trying to engage in piracy.

I've not seen this happen just for a video card, then maybe you have changed other materials in the past too?

  • Dimension 2400, adding a video card

    Hello

I'm new to this discussion and just hope I am posting this in the correct place. I have an older Dell Dimension 2400 with an integrated video card. I'm running 2 monitors. Problem is that when I install the video card, VGA - slot PCI, the machine loads, see the new map, then flashes all for sure!

Is there a jumper on the motherboard that should be placed or a setting in the BIOS/setting (looked everywhere here), that I need?

Thx for the help and time with this frustrating problem to anyone. I ran 2 monitors on all of my machines simply by adding the video card, but not this machine.

It is running Win XP Professional.

    Michael

The Dimension 2400 BIOS default setup an Auto setting for the video.  If you must have both integrated and the functional PCI card, you must go to the system configuration (F2 during the self-test after the start-up of the machine) and change the setting on board to force the computer to send video to the built-in port.

  • P7-1414, adding a video card

I would add a PNY NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 610 graphics card to this computer. It requires only a 300W PSU, so I should be good in this regard. I was in the bios but does not know how to disable the onboard video. the system runs Win8 and has 8 G of ram. Any ideas?

The BIOS automatically disables the embedded video when it detects a properly installed and powered in the PCIe x 16 slot discrete video card. In addition, you will need to ACTIVATE 'Secure Boot' and 'Legacy Support' in the BIOS before the computer will start with a video cardinstalled compatible no UEFI.

Before installing new video card, make your changes in the BIOS and turn off the computer. Then, install the video card and turn on the computer.

Please see HP PC desktop - computer does not boot after installing a video (Windows 8) card for more information on the subject.

  • Adding a video card in a hp pavilion p6620f with a card mother n-alvorix-rs880-formfat (alvorix)

I want to replace the video edge in this computer with a video card. I want to use a card geforce n210 1 gb ddr3 pci express dvi/hdmi. Anyone know if it will work. It seems that this is what I see so far, but I'm not a computer person. I want to be able to put a tc in my TV and be able to play some of the new games.  Thanks for any help

    Hello

The graphics card must be a PCIE x 16 compatible (for the expansion on the motherboard slot) one. Geforce n210 will definitely work, because it's a pcie x 16 card compatible USB2.0. You have a desktop computer, then that means that any pcie 2.0 x 16 graphics card might work and it's always on your wallet and the power of the power supply.

  • Video card GeForce GTX645 and two monitors Dell

Just place an order for a Dell XPS PC 8700 with a GeForce GTX645 video card. I'm trying to figure out how I'll be able to connect my two Dell monitors to the video card. My monitors are a Dell 2407WFP-HC 24 '' and a Dell IN2020M 20 ". I'm fairly certain that the 24 "monitor has a DVI - D connector, and I think (but I'm not sure) the 20" monitor also has DVI - D.

It appears by looking at the specs for the GeForce GTX645 there a port DVI - D and DVI - I port. If this is the case, how can I connect two monitors using DVI - D video card?

    -Larry

Yo is not an adapter to hook up 2 monitor DVI - D DVI - I and DVI - D + HDMI + [...] video card.

DVI - I mean it is a compatible port DVI - D AND you could plug an adapter DVI / VGA for use an old monitor (VGA d - Sub 15 pin)

DVI - I simply means that the DVI connector has some extra pins (on the right, under the direction, my mistake) with the data (if necessary)

  • PC does not recognize video card

I had bought an EVGA Geforce GT610 graphics card and installed in my HP Pavilion 500 - 54 (Windows OS 8.1). When I tried to install the video drivers (latest drivers from EVGA) for the new video card I received a message as the "graphics driver cannot find compatible devices. Also the new map did not appear anywhere in the graphics card or anywhere in the Device Manager. I've disabled the secure boot mode and disabled slot security legacy for the pci slot where the video card. Yet I still can't the PC to recognize the video card (which is compatible with this system). I tried to uninstall the pilots on board, but that did not help. The PC should recognize the video card, when he was put in the x 16 pci slot. Someone has or has had this problem and have you found a solution to the problem. And Yes, I have tried the card in another PC and it works fine. I have exhausted all avenues of solution up to now and still can not solve this problem. Any advice or fixes will be greatly appreciated.

Only, I solved the problem. It turns out that the instructions on adding a video card failed a defintely detail to include.  As well as strives mode, you need to go into the boot settings and select legacy boot.  I thought that ithat legacy mode automatically would have done, but I shouldn't assume. All is well now. It detected the video card and drivers have been installed. Thanks for the suggestions. I hope this helps someone else with the same problem.

  • Upgrade the video card on PC p7-1421

I'm looking at adding a video card in my pc.  The problem is all the cards I have watch requires more power or are a card double slot.  On some forums, I looked in there are a lot of warnings while ensuring that a card double slot is compatible not only with the motherboard and the power supply, but also if it can be inserted into the case.  One of the cards below will work with the power I and enters the case?

    I have a PC of p7-1421 with a 300W power supply.

The cards I look at are:

    MSI AMD Radeon R9 270 2048 MB PCIe 3.0 x 16 dual video card

    R7 MSI 260OC 1 GB PCIe video card 3.0x16

    KnightFall, welcome to the forum.

All cards except the R9 270 (10,08 ") seem to be good as much as the length and depth of the card.  The R9 also requires an additional power on the power supply cable.  However, MSI does not provide the necessary power to the power supply (PSU).  You must contact them for this information.  I suggest to make a model of the size of the card that you choose to ensure that it fits in the space.

It is not impossible to find a video card to run with a 300W power supply, but almost.  If you want a good mid-level video card you should definitely consider an upgrade of at least 500W POWER supply; 600W is still better for future updates.

Here's a guide that will help you understand what the installation of a video in a computer Win 8 card required.

  • ThinkCentre m91p 7033 D 54 Add video card

    Hi all!

I got a plug from the Tower of 7033d 54 m91p and was looking online everywhere to see if I could add a video card to this computer. I know that there are other posts on m91ps in discussing the range of the ati HD6600 series to the 7700 s but I wanted to be safer for the sake of my own computer. If someone has or had a thinkcentre m91p 7033d 54 (since there are several models of the m91p, I suspected that energy consumption is different), please let me know if you have added a video card! or... If anyone is familiar with this model of the m91p, please help me! I realize, because it is a tower compact that I would need a small and discreet video card. Thank you!

To be clear on terminology, your model is a Small Form Factor, SFF (the tower is a different model).

7750 is the best graphics card available (a 6670 also works, but has worst heat and lower performance). You will need a low card profile, and measure the length available, as it will be too tight. Get the one with the biggest fan, it will cool better with less noise. The PSU is a custom size and not easy to upgrade.

I use AMD Catalyst 13.4, it is solid. Monitor system and GPU time during the game, you may need to remove the cover from the pci beside the GPU for ventilation slot.

Be the latest updates of BIOS, Lenovo and MSFT.

  • upgrade the video card for HP TouchSmart 600-1120 or renounce FF XIV

We just bought the HP TouchSmart Desktop PC 600-1120, and now, we found that we cannot play FFXIV top because he has the wrong video card.  He needs an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 video card.

Can we change the map?  It will mess up of the touchscreen?

This model does not support the upgrade of the GPU. The touchsmarts use the Integrated GPU and do not have expansion slots required on the motherboard for adding a video card.

  • Please help me with the video card and power supply issues!

Hello and thanks in advance for any help. I'll try and do a short explanation, but I can't promise anything. I bought an a6620f Pavilion about 2 months ago I didn't know that you had to purchase a special hardware in order to play video games. In any case, I bought about 300.00 worth of new video games and none of them works. they say because of my video card. Then try to buy a new video card and it won't work because I only have a 250 watt power supply. I spoke with a hp technician before you buy a PSU and I was told that my motherboard was only designed to use a 300 watt max power I tried to buy one at best buy and the clerk said 4500 is the smallest they sell. and I need at least a 400 Watt or powerrsupply to make the new video card with a value of buyiong. My questuion is what can I do if I can't buy one more big power supply how can I install a new video casrd? Please help me I'm lost

    Hi chefinomaha,

Sorry to hear about your frustration. Here's some good news.

I think you have been misinformed or there was a communication error. Your motherboard should not be limited to the only 300W. I don't know with certainty how high you can go in watts, but you can go higher and should go higher, if you add a video card.

The important thing is to get the right kind of diet that fits your connectors.

    Here's your motherboard page.

Here is a document with step-by-step instructions and video for adding a video card.

Here is a document with the video to replace the power supply.

  • Install the new video card

I have a HP Pavilion m7500y PC running Windows XP. I would like to install a new video card to display on both monitors. Installing a video card is possible with this machine? The card I have has a VGA, HDMI and a DVI input connection. If possible, do I need anything special to install and use this card? Thank you for your help.

I wouldn't worry the food until the video card is selected.  Decide if a new power supply is needed.  Many new cards high power have a 'special' which will have all the power supplies.  According to the map, adapters for power fittings may come with the card.  A respected power supply name is Cosair, Antec, or Thermalake, but many are just as reliable at the best prices.

  • HP Pavilion DV9700t Ent Notebk: Likely blown video card. Need second opinion

    Hi all

Well, in case you are wondering how I do...

Back in December 2013, I clean installed my machine to win 8.1 and aired big.  No problem, he didn't like.

My computer specs are as follows:

    Purchased in June 2008

    Laptop HP Pavilion DV9700t Ent

Video: 512MB Nvidia GeForce 8600M GS

    17.0 "WSXGA + BrightView Widescreen

    Processor Intel core duo T9500

    240 GB at 7200 RPM Sata Dul HD 120GB X 2

    4 GB DDR2 Sys Mem (2 dimm)

    SN: [redacted for privacy]

    REF: KL086AV

My problem now is that I'm sure I did skip the video card.

Symptoms: I was and use the maching regularly without any problems at all.  No error or anything.

The only unusual thing is the machine heats up a LOT all around the touch pad and where you rest

your hand and the center of the machine.  It happened last autumn some time or maybe alitle

front.  Does not cause any functional problems.

In any case, I used it for stuff, when the video "flashed on/off voltage approximately 12 times, then gave an error about"

'unstable video driver', then the 'suspended' for one minute machine to do something, then it crashed and

    turned off.

When I restart the machine, I see the power light and the lights of the cylinder of the upcoming HD and

read the disks.  But nothing ever comes to the top on the screen more.  It doesn't matter how long wait.

I have to overide and turn off and get the same results with several attempts.

Can not start on disks or even enter into installation mode, because I don't see what is on the screen.

What happens, is that it seems to get a 'very' small almost imperceptible glow on the screen, so I'm

assuming that the video portion food is ok.  Simply nothing showing on the video.

I tried plugging my HDMI cable to my tv and try starting this way, but it does not work either.  I think there

to be started later in the goal for this part work.

Similarly, I thought to connect an external monitor to the "vga" (so im saying that he rectified) port, but I think that

You must configure in Setup? (not really sure)

To make a long story short, I can't see any video.

I didn't know if the video card was onboard or not with the motherboard (I bet it is), then I tried to

carefully take it apart.  I didn't want to break it, so I'm not in the distance with her.

The machine is guaranteed anyway so no matter if I try.

I had a computer outside technician come and try to watch too, and they had no more than I did.  Except

they were able to get it out more than me and they do not seem to confirm that video is "embedded."

    There are.

I have been using win 8.1 fine for 6 months, he loved, and now my video card fried.  That's ok.

My machine is less than 6 years old and out of warranty.

I wonder if there is a problem on board, if anyone has an idea of what it would cost if I send back to HP to look at, or what are the usual scenarios in this case.

I think that the replacement of the motherboard will cost several hundred dollars and since the machine is now older, it may be better spent on a more recent machine.

I am looking for a second opinion here now.

    Thanks in advance,
