    Hello

Very probably during the process of adding more memory you may disrupt the battery CMOS (or RTC) or even the chip for the BIOS itself. Please (no need to do this):

    • Reinstall the components autour RAM slots
    • Change new battery for RTC
    • Check the BIOS and reset the date hour away
    • Check the date and time of Windows.

    Kind regards.

  • Re: Satellite P500 - 1C7 do not wake up after adding memory

    Hello
    I replaced the original memory of 2 x 4 GB 2x2gb.

It works fine except that the PC doesn't wake up after a break.
    I have win7 64.
    How is that possible?

The laptop worked before adding new modules?
If so, then the problem could be related to new modules
In this case I recommend that you test the other modules

I use Kingston modules has never had any problems using these memory modules.

  • K7X03AV #ABA: adding memory

I will soon receive my new PC HP Envy 700-515xt.

    Data sheet:

    OS: Win 7 pro x 64

    Motherboard: MSI Kaili 2

    Memory: 8 GB DDR3 1600 MHz [1 DIMM]

Processor: 4th generation Intel Core i7-4790 processor image [3.6 GHz, 8 MB of shared cache]

    Video: Onboard Intel graphics card

At the time I ordered it I don't give to much thought, to be honest I didn't know, the memory capacity twin platform processors.  I don't know if the motherboard has dual channel capiblity.

What I've read, it is better to have two Dimms of equal value to take advantage of this capibility. I have now, I wonder if adding an additional 8 GB memory DDR3 - 1600 MHz would be useful or if it is even necessary.

The use of my compuuter is pretty basic with some basic photo work but not all game.

    My questions:

The motherboard above there two-channel capabilities?

I see a significant improvement by adding another 8 GB of RAM?

If so, how can I know what manufacturer of RAM to buy?

    I would appreciate your opinion

    Thank you

    Stan

    Hey Stan,

Yes, the card mother Kaili2 a support dual channel memory.

Unless you run applications that use a lot of memory, then 8 GB should be enough. Review graphs under the resource monitor W7 on the memory tab, and in particular 'fouls hard. "  If you encounter a lot of hard holes while you might need of more memory. You must also consider the amounts of memory allocation.

If you believe that you have need of more memory, then see the tips below.

Your first consideration should be Support HP or HP sales during the consideration of upgrades or replacement of memory. If you want to consider other manufacturers of the best way to avoid memory problems is to contact one of the leading manufacturers of memory. I would recommend that you try the tools of these manufacturers: Corsair, Kingston andCrucial. Once you have determined the DIMMs that you need, then contact commercial or technical support to check that you have selected the correct DIMMS. If you buy directly from manufacturers, then they will stand behind their products.

  • Adding memory, but the PC does not see it

    I have a HP m7350n desktop under WinXP SP2

The memory was still stock until my recent upgrade

By specifications, he had 2 GB of memory. Confirmed with dxdiag

By card, it also has a maximum of 4 GB

    Data sheet: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00585745

I've added two new sticks of 1 GB in the two open slots. I left the old memory where she was, the memory of the old and the new alternative locations.

    I added 2xKingstonKVR400D2N3 / 1 G 240-pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 400 (PC2-3200)

This seems to fit the plug (I admit Im a beginner at this stuff).

Physically, the new memory was shorter then the old man. I am confident that the new memory is sitting and firmly fixed

After the upgrade, dxdiag claims that I have 2 GB of memory (2 048 MB).

Any suggestions on what I can is dead wrong, or what I need to check? I want to get it to 4 GB.

I guess that is not impacting the question of memory, but I have also improved the power supply and the video card at the same time (there is more noise, but it will be a separate post)

    Thanks for the pointers

    Hello

You can see them in the BIOS? This indicates that the RAM is not the same thing:

I apologize for this post being so long.

Adding instructions are here. When you buy new memory be sure and go to the website of the manufacturer of the memory. Use only brands so that they ensure th your product compatibility. Use the memory Configurator tools on the website of the manufacturer of the memory. Here are a few major brands for you: Kingston, Crucial, Corsair:

Change the power supply: This video on youtube is pretty decent for generic power supply switching.

Thislinkhas information on opening the cover and remove the cover.

When you select a video card do not get cards great physically (i.e. ATI HD 4870 / 4850) because they are double wide and does not have limited space. Fantastic cards but are not for the pre-built PC.

Any ATX PSU fits your case. 450 watts or therabouts enough for almost any addition of hardware on your pc. Do yourself a favor and stick the best brands such as Corsair, OCZ and others. Generic brands are not worth the problems they can bring even if they are cheaper.

I've got a c250 with 2 GB of memory. I added 2 GB of memory via a microSD card. My mp3's read, but when I plug it into my computer it only allows me to add 2 GB of music. All solutions?

The card and the reader appear as two separate drives. Need to add your files separately.

  • Adding memory, had to unplug the drive hard-

Hello - I added 2 GB of memory to my 2 GB system (Pavillion m7680n, XP). In order to access the memory locations, the hard disk had to be removed and disconnected. (true!) Now, I don't see anything on my screen, can't even get mode without failure, restore, or will that use my recovery disks. I would appreciated any advice - seems to be completely dead (although I get turns on when starting, and fan work etc, not sure if mouse, keyboard, monitor or readers work?) Help me please!

Remove the new memory module and return its initial configuration of the memory of your PC.

    It starts Windows now?

Did you buy a bar of memory which has been guaranteed compatible and identical to the original memory modules?

If the upgrade memory, delete the original modules and install new modules or make sure they are identical in all respects.

Do not follow the practice I described increases no startup scenario chances in a big way.

  • Speed of memory after adding memory and upgrading the video card problem.

My XPS 410 ships in September 2007 with a Core 2 Quad (Q6600) 2.4 ghz processor and two gigs of 800 mhz DDR2 SDRAM. Recently, I added two concerts more than 800 mhz DDR2 SDRAM and replaced my GeForce 8600 GTS with a GeForce 9500 GT with 1 GB of video memory. When I started the system, all four gigabytes of memory have been recognized, but was only running at 667 mhz. Can I fix this? This means that the original memory, or the new memory is really 667 mhz DDR2 SDRAM and not the 800 mhz DDR2 SDRAM I paid for? There are other possible reasons for this?

    Hi RuralDigital,

I will need some additional information to help you best.

Ø you have 32 bit or 64 bit Vista?

O do you have 667 MHz RAM in your computer?

When you use one more memory RAM clocked with one less clocked the two Rams, RAM will run at a lower speed RAM, that means that when you install a DDR2 667 MHz and DDR2 800 MHz clock speed, maximum RAM memory will be lower among the 2 cylinders speed, i.e., 667 Mhz.

Then I suggest you to check if the speed of the Rams is the same.
