Additional newspaper resulting in a step (LabVIEW)
Hello
Inside a LabVIEW TestStep, I need to connect one, at the beginning of the test step, an unknown number of other results. These results are id to any other DB table and making them part the results of the stage facilitates query results together afterwards (this way each entry in the STEP_RESULT table may be related to a number of entries inside the PROP_RESULT table pointing to entries in other tables of TestStand non-standard.
Using the sequenceContext inside the LabVIEW TestStep, it is possible to record additional results in the step-result container by using the method of AdditionalResults.Insert: SeqContext.Step.AdditionalResults.CustomResults.Insert ("result")
I already noticed that a Clear-method needs to be performed before starting to record additional results because otherwise the results are added to the results of a previous run and are visible in the view of additional results in the stage-settings in the sequence editor. This last behavior makes me think I might have the wrong solutions and will have performance during execution. I think they are only visible during execution as temporary variables.
Are there other ways to add some programmaticaly additional results within a test step?
Is that a way to programmaticaly defined the data type of the AdditionalResults. CustomResult? Now it is always stored in the PROP_RESULT table as string (TYPE_NAME field).
Thank you
Roger
Hello Buster,
If I understand correctly (that I'm not 100% sure), then you are looking for something similar to the following:
"LogAdditionalResult method".
This method is described in Help:

How to read the additional results of each step of the sequence of my main in LabVIEW?
I'm working on the creation of stylesheets for TestStand reports. I do this by allowing the user to select additional results in every step she wants to see in the report in a LabVIEW edit stage. I can read the names of each stage, like in the picture as an attachment, but I can't access their (children?), additional results.
I think that I thought about it, I guess that I had tried everything. The solution is something like the joint. Thanks for the suggestion!

How to load the 4155B file, run it and record the results to Excel with Labview
Hi, I need model command support, sending to 4155B using Labview.
I would like to load the file from the disk on 4155B using Labview. First of all, I tried to write the command using MAX and found that the command that I write to 4155 B contains the error message. "I sent the two GT ' MYFILE P" and : MMEM:LOADTAT 0, filename orders every time to 4155 B, but failed. May I know what kind of command must send to the communication with the instrument?
Besides, I need to run the content of the file, I should send it OUT @Hp4155; "' XE ' command?
After running, I need save the result in excel file back.
Grateful if someone can help. Thanks in advance for your help.
Kind regards
Yong

The SCPI commands are found in the manual of the instrument.

Remove additional results of the previous step
Hello world
I have a step of the 'statement' (step 1) inside a while loop that creates an additional result to the stage (using Step.AdditionalResults.CustomResults.Insert). For each row in the While loop this 'statement' step will create a new additional result. After step 1, I want to delete the additional result created in step 1. If I don't delete it, after each loop my report file will include all previous results additional loop.
Is there a way to remove the additional result created in step 1?
Thank you very much!
Review the attached file in sequence. Why don't you just use the same result? Why do you need to insert and remove every time?
Can you send me this sequence you sent the screenshot? This way I can get a better feel what you are doing.

Condition of additional results work does not correctly for the parameters
TestStand 2014
Trying to connect a parameter only if the status of the step is "failure" will not save the setting when the step will actually fail. On the other hand, variables with the same State will record very well.
The sequence attached illustrates this. Basically I have a sous-suite that returns a random number and a string as parameters. I use the random number to evaluate against my limits for the test call. I want to save the parameter of string only if the step fails. So I put as an additional result, then assign the condition
Step.Result.Status == "failed".
The data never show on the report.
But when I put a result additional explicit with the same local variable and put the same exact condition it appears on the report when the step fails.
I'm puzzled as to why settings will not open a session to this condition, but additional explicit results work fine with the same State.
Any thoughts?
Thank you
Condition for additional result of the parameter is evaluated before the State sequence is set to failure. The 'out' parameter additional results are evaluated probably just after the code module, so if the status of the step is not changed by the call of code module, then it will always be "Running".
I can see how it would be nice if it worked the way you ask, but keep in mind for input/output parameters it is usually the same expression/variable to both the 'in' and 'out' additional result, so it is important to the time at which the result is recorded. It must be done before calling code module for 'in' settings and after the call of code module to 'out' parameters to reflect the State of the variables to these points in time. I think that the intention is that the additional result for settings must reflect the State of the variables at the point in time immediately right before the call for 'in' settings and immediately after the call to 'out' parameters So if you want to connect under certain conditions a value based on the status (where the State is not changed directly by the code module), with the help of a result extra ordinary as you discovered is probably the best way to go.
Maybe for the parameters we might delay logging to the end, but which may result in a change of behavior if the variable state changes again once before that. If you want us to consider or have another idea for how to handle this better please let us know or maybe post something to the exchange of ideas.
Another possibility is that we could temporarily connect the results before and after the code module, but then not assess the condition to the end and throw the recorded result if the condition is false. Who can still cause a change in behavior although if "Value of Log" expressions have side effects.
Hope this helps clarify things.

Additional results - vs Value reference Bug
I just wanted to find it there. When you try to open a session of additional results of a step, you can specify if you want to connect the value [In] or the [Out] all the variables passed by reference. If you have a variable that is passed by value, you can only connect [] that the value does not change. Makes sense.
However, if you have a variable passed by value and then change to make reference to, it will not refresh to enable a value [Out] until step is reloaded.
Thank you for reporting this bug. You experience this problem with a sequence step call? If so, there is a bug existing on this issue report. The ID is 142282. This problem should be corrected in a future version of TestStand. For now, you can work around this problem by clicking on the check box 'Use Prototype of Sequence' twice for change and then restore its value. When you do this the parameters in the update of the additional results panel.

record result only if the step fails
Hello
It is possible to specify that a step should only appear in the results if the status is DOWN and not when it MEETS the test?
It seems that you can only enable or disable the result for a step!
Thank you!
John.
Hello
If the response from Dennis will be full fill your needs then ignores this.
If you want to match an only special stage then I would add a statement after that
a process that removes the last element - Step.ResultList neck of prerequisite at this stage.

How to go from result of step of TS engine at the operator Interface?
Hi, dear ALL
I am a newbie in TestStand and I have a problem... A lot of documentation and manuals, but there is no clear answer = (could you please help me.
Suppose we have a sequence with a step of success/failure. Now, I want to use my own operator instead of the sequence editor Interface to run my sequence. To the best of my knowledge, the TS engine will update Step.Result.Status property. I want to get this status and use it in my IO. How the engine works TS transfer the result of the step to the IO (or the sequence editor)? I read on user interface messages. TS engine automatically sends a special Message from UI?
Thanks in advance,
Max

No, there are no special UI for this Message.
What you can do is to define your own customized for that user interface Message. Take a look on the TestStand reference manual page 3-15. You will find an array of components of step ordered by the execution. You can see that action no. 17 is the execution of the expression of the State. From that moment, the step should have its result. Therefore, you can use the step callback after engine (action no. 18) to send your Message to the custom user interface. Another possible recall would be the recall of motor PostResultListEntry (action no. 32), which is the last point to transfer information.
Regardless of the above info: why don't you use the SequenceView element and simply expel everything except the name of the step and the result column?
hope this helps,
Norbert

Change by the Step.Datasource program
I create a LabVIEW tool to update multiple properties of the stage after that some necessary changes.
One of the changes has been a step type went a numerical limit to a Boolean success/failure test.
Because I couldn't have all sequences (several hundreds) customers loaded when I made the changes, I need the tool to change the Data Source for this type of stage of 'Step.Result.Numeric' to 'Step.Result.PassFail '. Problem is that I can't find the right combination of properties/methods to get there.
I don't see that a "Step.DataSource" property as it is for the "StatusExpression" and "precondition". I tried to take the "AsPropertyObject" of ref in step ref, then using the value 'Setp.DataSource' 'Step.Result.PassFail' 'SetValString' method, but it returns an error of-17306 which returns "access error to the point"Step.DataSource".»
Thank you
Ed
Ed,
Since you're already in a context of step at this point, with the "Step.AsPropertyObject ()" call, try to just 'DataSource' as string search, rather than Step.DataSource. According to me, who is accessing the correct property in the container of the step.

Hi all
I'm new to the Vision of LabVIEW module and I am trying to create an application that locates the iris of the eye of a given image of an eye.
My algorithm would work as follows:
(1) fill the holes in the image to get rid of specular light by reversing the image, applying the Imaq FillHoles function and inversion then return of the image.
(2) binarize the image by applying a threshold calculated in advance in this regard.
(3) do a lot other calculations that should work perfectly after I get my image pre-processed in the previous two steps.
My problem is that when trying different solutions for the pretreatment portion I couldn't connect two steps, two functions of vision, two nodes of different image processing library somehow, I tried. The most common problem is that after the first step is done correctly the second provides a totally black image as a result. I think that the problem should be around the node IMAQ ExtractSingleColorPlane, which should cause a few misfits datatype or something like that, but I can't deduct how it should be changed or what another stage of conversion of image must be used in order to achieve what I want.
I am attaching the VI as it is in its current state for reference. The upper part with the number of rows and columns is unimportant, that works very well. The lower part with the knots of vision makes me the real problem. If you are simply trying to run you will see that after the first step, the result seems fine, but then none of the images that results after each step give significant results.
Can anyone help me with an explanation where I hurt myself and how exactly this should be done?
Much appreciated!
Follow the steps in reverse order. First get a binary image, then fill the holes if you need to.
If you use the holes to fill on a grayscale image, it will fill all that is black. The function of filling holes is for binary images.

Hello
I use post step reminder of failure to manage failures in my sequence. The sequence of reminder post not failure has many steps inside. I realized that other reminders like post step runtime error reminder and Post result list enrty do not work to get the stage Post failure callback procedure. Any suggestions for the error handling in the reminder of failure stage post?
I also generate a report for the steps in the reminder of failure stage post. How can I do this?
Thank you
Yvette
Thanks for your reply. I use developed approach for reporting. I uses the property Locals.Resultlist of the recall of step seq file post failed to accumulate the results and have a LabVIEW VI in the Group of the cleanup step to remove the results of the local population. List results and writing in an excel file.
Thank you

Step.Limits Set with ActiveX
Hello
I work on the development of a VI to create a TestStand sequence based on a set of inputs to an excel file.
With LabVIEW, I was able to create a new file of sequence and insert a test "LabVIEW digital limit" in the sequence (VI attached for adding new digital step). I don't know how to take this additional numerical limits and put 'Step.Limits.Low' & 'Step.Limits.High '.
Grateful if someone can let me know if/how this is possible.
Thank you best regards &,.
Don1
PS: Please advise if I should have posted this on the set of LabVIEW.
With the help of the reference step change for a reference of PropertyObject (Step.AsPropertyObject), then you can change the default values using the PropertyObject.SetValNumber using the search string for "Limits.Low" and "Limits.High".

Results of the stage not listed is not in the report
Hello. New to TestStand. I appointed a string value test which compares the serial number USE by using RunState.Root.Locals.UUT.SerialNumber. However, when the report is generated, I don't see any results of the step. This only happens with this sequence and not with any of the tutorials. Can someone point me in the right direction for that. Thank you.
go to Edition > sequence properties...
Uncheck the box that says: disable result record for all stages
Not sure how that checked, but it shouldn't be for MainSequence.
Hope this helps,

How to fill the tables preset in Word 2003 with the results of the tests?
Hi all
I have a simple test, where I measure different levels of DC, with a simple Vi which records test results to a text file.
These results in the text file, were manually typed in a test report, which is a Word document with tables, but I have now created a macro in word 2003 that can take the results to the text file and added to the precise lines and columns in my word test report file.
Issues, it is how can I get Labview, after he measured the levels of DC, write the results of tests on specific tables, lines and columns, in the Word document without any delete?
The attached photo shows a tables and the yellow cells showing the cells that must be filled in test results.
