Additional speakers aren't working only not on Dell (Displaylink Hub)

I have a laptop Dell XPS 9333, who works with a Dell (Displaylink) 3 G Hub. I'm on Windows 10 and have the latest Displaylink software (7,9) loaded, but when I connect additional speakers (that work on other computers) I hear only still sound through the laptop and not the additional speakers who are plugged into the hub.

I also ran all diagnostic tests various provided by Dell & Windows

I recommend that you check to see if the external speakers are detected by the laptop.  Make a right click on the speaker icon at the bottom right of the taskbar and choose the playback device.  What devices are listed here? You see external speakers, or anything like that by mentioning the link display?  Select the external speakers and click Configure, click test, do hear them now?  If so, select the external speaker, and then click configuring default button and then try the external speakers.

Please let me know if the problem persists.

    Have you done a recent software or hardware changes to the system?

    This problem occurs because the Messenger service is disabled. The Messenger service must run on the destination computer to activate the NET SEND command.

  • HP LaserJet M252dw: Airprint works only not on HP LaserJet M252dw

    We have a HP Color Laserjet M252DW in our business that we intend to use Airprint for printing from our Mac machines, but we cannot make it work.

    We use a Cisco wireless with a 2500 WLC. We have configured mDNS and are able to see other printers, but not the M232DW.

    What we have tried so far:

    > Search for the firmware updated (not available)

    > Reset the printer and reconfigure

    > Use the static and DHCP IP addresses

    > Restart the printer, WLC and Mac devices

    The printer is connected to the same network wireless as users. As I said, Airprint works on other printers, it works just not on this one.

    Any ideas of what I may be missing or what I can try?

    I got to work. But only after I reset the default printer and it reconfigured.

    I needed to configure mDNS on Cisco WLC, then after I reset and reconfigure the printer, it took a little time to see the recording on the WLC and for Apple devices pick up (about 5-10 minutes).

    It took that long only for this particular model because the other HP printers have been detected immediately, but those are wired, however.

    I have a laptop HP V6500 Pressario, with Vista Home Basic installed recently. I have two problems with my laptop:

    1 > there is no sound, and I see the error "no audio device is installed" with a red cross on the "speaker" icon.
    2 > drive CD/DVD is not visible in 'my computer '.

    These two problems are persistent, but begin to work from time to time, say once 20 times when I turn on the laptop, I see the CD drive and also audio works, but these work only for about 10 minutes...

    I tried the Dr.Fixit and it did not help and have also installed the latest drivers for my notebook to the hp site:

    Try these steps and check the result.
    Step 1: Delete the invalid registry keys
    1. Click Start, type regedit and press to enter. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.
    2. in the navigation pane, find and then click the following registry subkey:
    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    3. in the right pane, click UpperFilters.

    3. once the uninstall, restart the computer.
     
    Step 3: Install device drivers in a new user account.
    1. open user accounts by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety (or by clicking on user accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking user accounts.
    2. click on manage another account.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    3. click on create a new account.

    4. type the name you want to assign to the user account, click an account type, and then click on create an account.

  • speakers and microphone works do not, said convenience store "device working properly.

    a couple of days ago my machine makes an auto update as usually and things seemed good, but shortly after, I noticed that I had no sound function or a microphone of my internal devices and making helmet is also non-functional. the first thing I did was restart, no luck. Then, I ran a convenience store and received the msg above. I noticed that while I had the audio device manager open that I do not have access to the 'configure', 'default' and 'properties' functions under the tabs of playback and recording. After a further review I thought that maybe I had a problem of compatibility of the driver with the recent update, but I'm not really sure of what has been updated. I also thought I might have a conflict of use with an application hogging things even though I have seen no unusual activity in the Task Manager. Despite this, I disabled the 'google ok' feature in chrome and restarted. This seemed to fix that I had the sound and the microphone back, but when I started this morning I had the same problem and since I don't re - not allow 'google ok' and it does not automatically start (I checked), which doesn't seem to have actually done something after all, or there are other problems that are still not resolved.

    in any case, I'm running worm Realtek HD Audio Driver 6.0.1.6937, I'm on a wired ethernet connection, I got no error msgs and I did not any changes in software.

    FYI, I found an announcement and related solution for what seemed to be a similar problem (see post titled "speakers and microphone doesn't work DO NOT, all the devices said to work" posted on 26/02/2013 15:00), but the pilot referenced was an IDT Audio driver not a Realtek, don't know whether or not the process is the same.

    so that is where I am. any help?

    I do not work for HP, but I see a definite advantage on the subject of what you are suggesting.

    Try to perform the following procedure.

    Download Realtek HD Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    Realtek HD Audio Driver - Windows 8

    One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the Realtek device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

    Then, download and reinstall the Chipset driver on the following link.

    Chipset Driver - Windows 8

    When done, shut down the laptop by holding down the key SHIFT left click Shutdown to temporarily prevent a hybrid boot.

    Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery.  Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

    Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

    Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right click on the installer of Realtek and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  Left click "Speakers/HP" (speakers or headphones) once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

    I've been looking around in the forums, but I couldn't find solutions to my problem.

    I have a satellite A130 and I am running a windows VISTA family Basic. I have a problem with my fn functions.
    I can only use flash on the top of my screen cards, just by dragging my mouse upwards on the top of my screen.

    The key works only when I start my computer, at startup, but when the computer is running, there is no other "fn", I could use but my mouse to show my flash cards and use them.

    Is there something else I could do?

    I have same situation, remove the starting windows for the form Flash cards and you have no pictures at the top of the desctop, but keys will work.

    Follow the instructions below that may help you resolve the issue.

    Method 1:

    Try to set up the device in the default playback tab and check whether the problem is resolved.

  • Integrated webcam not working only not with windows 7 on XPS L702

    Looking at the Device Manager there is no "imaging devices".  Online research suggests windows should the driver and install it automatically, so it doesn't seem to be a way to manually install the driver.

    I tried to boot a linux live cd and the webcam successfully, so the webcam is definetely work.

    Reinstall Dell Webcam central has no effect.  Note that the device used to work and I have not reinstalled the operating system since many updates windows however.

    Start, Control Panel, Manager of peripherals, Bus USB controllers

    Well, I finally got it working - but not quite how. A combination to reset the preferences, parameters of deleting and re-installing Photoshop. Although I had to reinstall twice before, it made a difference.

    In any case, fixed now fortunately! I appreciate the help.

    I have a dell inspiron N5110. He recently had a new hard drive mounted. Upon his return, no sound can be heard through the speakers inbult but sound can be heard with headphones.

    I am running Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit.

    The speakers are set to the default device in read mode.

    Question:

    My JBL Xtreme temporarily (several times a day) stops playing all the sounds of my MPB mid-2010. Requires to completely restart the Xtreme to resume playback.


    Question is this:

    (1) once the Mac will several minutes without reading sounds.

    (for example, problem will NOT happen 'in the middle' of a video or a song, or between several consecutive videos).

    (2) into two entities (a purchased in 12/03/2015, then replaced by the new JBL 07/05/2016 customer service unit).

    (3) using the two separate cables headphone (2' and 6').

    Issue disappeared:

    (1) temporarily when full restart JBL Extreme (question returns a few hours or minutes later); A full restart of Mac does NOT help.

    (2) when you disconnect from the JBL speaker and plug into speakers of simple (not firmware) separate non - JBL, these speakers JBL - no play the sounds as expected. Thus, Mac 'seems' to send the correct signals via its headphone port.

    JBL customer service response:

    (1) ' we have not all the comments of any bug or any update would be necessary for the Xtreme. " For now, I would recommend that you contact support for your Mac. »

    But the Mac works well with the JBL - no speakers. So, I think, the Mac is OK. But don't know if its signals is compatible with the firmware on the JBL speakers.

    2) "the speaker goes into sleep mode to save battery".

    But the Xtreme is plugged into the wall power (all 5 white lights are always one of them flashing). So, save the battery life is not a problem.

    It is OK to go to sleep. But it should not require a full reboot to wake up.

    For example, while surfing the web I find and read a video, minutes later I find another video and need to restart the JBL to read.

    As it is, I'm turning it back on about 10 times a day.

    Each time, the Xtreme gives a) unpleasant 'surprise' unpredictable doesn't have to read the sound, b) chime sounds to feed top down and c) not long.

    This isn't a normal acceptable behavior.

    Possible causes:

    I think that, perhaps, JBL Xtreme would have some power save mechanism, so pregnant properly go to sleep (when he gets is not sound signals of Mac for a few minutes). However, when CV, sound signals, JBL Xtreme fails to wake on his own (because some bug in the JBL firmware). Thus, it requires a full restart.
