  • JDeveloper 11 g ADF and application servers

I'm new to JDeveloper and benefited from the 11g, but I am concerned about the deployment of my code. Can I deploy a 11g ADF asks the server to Oracle 10gAS version 10.1.2.0.2 applications or do I request an upgrade of the server that will be difficult to accomplish?

    Thanks :)

    Hello
In theory, you can, but you must pay attention to what you are doing.
I encourage you to do so.
You can use the new rich ADF faces if you plan to deploy an older AEO. Be careful selecting the right JDK while developing (11g using 1.6.x).
I'm not sure that you can start a new project in 11g using the old Oracle stuff entirely.

So, if you plan to use the new test features to get a WLS 10 g R3 update.

  • mechanism between DB and application server

    Hello

Currently I have installed R12.1.3 ebs and DB under 11.1.0.7 upgrade to 11.2.0.2.
When upgrading the database server, I have a question how application server detects the database server.
The question may seem a little silly, but that's how it is. :)
For example, when DB is upgraded, upgrade, configuration and post activities are explained on side DB in the documents.
But then, how the database server to find application after the installation of new DB?
It works based on the updated file listener only...?
Or is there a configuration that must be done application server side as well after the DB is upgraded?

Can someone help with my questions...?

    Thank you

    Hello
    > It works based on the updated file listener only...?
Definitely, it will use the earpiece to connect with the db.

During the upgrade, you create appsutl.zip and copy this to the level of the database and run the automatic configuration service. It's that time where the link is established.

  • Oracle 11G and application server installed on the same server

What are the advantages and disadvantages installation of Oracle 11 G database and Oracle (forms and reports) application server on the same server?

    Thank you in advance, Sonya

Some people might want their data in an area of separate network for security reasons.
It also depends on if it is the same people who do maintenance on db and appserver.

It is at a lower cost with a single server and only 1 Os to implement.

  • Discoverer and application server 10g R2.

    Hi all.

I installed the application server with the discoverer, but I found no dicoverer it
It is nothing else but a batch file.
Please guide me what should I do?

    Hello
Do you have what version of the application server installed? Not only 10g but you install 10.1.2.0.0 and 10.1.2.2 or 10.1.2.3, patch or have you installed a different version of basic?

Discoverer 10 g R2 will be available if you use the application 10.1.2.0.0 Server and then patch 10.1.2.2 or 10.1.2.3. If you have installed a different version of the application server you won't have the engine installed discoverer.

To test simply launch a browser and call the URL for the home page of the server like this: http://yourserver.yourdomain:7778

If the discoverer is installed you will see links to launch more Discoverer and Discoverer Viewer. You can also try to call direct using Discoverer: discoverer/more/http://yourserver.yourdomain:7778 or http://yourserver.yourdomain:7778/discoverer Viewer

Another way to see if the discoverer components are installed is to locate the root for the ORACLE_HOME in which the application server has been installed. From there, if you have discoverer, you will see an ORACLE_HOME\discoverer with Sub-folders folder of config, deploy, lib, newspapers, mesg, doc, plus_files, secure and util.

In addition, if you browse here: ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\OC4J_BI_Forms\applications you should see a folder called discoverer

If you can't find the files above, you have installed an application server which does not support the discoverer. You will need to uninstall it and then install 10.1.2.0.0 and it patch. You can also find this post on my blog to be useful: http://learndiscoverer.blogspot.com/2008/04/most-useful-patch-numbers.html

  • What is the difference between Livecycle install OS and application server?

    Hello world

Is there a difference in the installation between the two Windows OS or Linux?

I am confused here given so many variations and possibilities, for example.

Windows - JBoss / Web Logic / Websphere

Linux - JBoss / Web Logic / Websphere

Anyone here found any good combination in the production? Please share it here.

    Thank you

    Albert

It depends on what the customer IT infrastructure consists of.  IBM stores tend to use WebSphere/AIX with DB2 as the database.  Free workshops tend to have JBoss/Linux.  Oracle stores tend to have WebLogic/Solaris with Oracle as the database.

  • Public Web site using Oracle ADF and Web Logic

    Hi Experts,

We intend to develop a new web application using ADF (11.1.1.5.0) and a Web of logic 11 g server. Please share some tips to the public of sites web/web applications developed using ADF. In addition, please share details of technical challenges, issues of performance, scalability and capacity planning of creating public web/web sites with ADF and logical server applications.

    Thanks in advance
    Rouhaud

    Roudier,

Can I use the old app on a managed server deployed with libs ADF 11.1.1.5.0 and the new app on another managed server

In theory Yes, but so far I see you can't. The reason is that you install the adf by WLS home runtime. During installation normally install you the libraries in an oracle_common folder that gets wired up more late to run it the servers that you specify. Never tested whether you can install (not on existing day) two different sets of adf runtime in a single server. My hunch is that you may not like the wiring of the libs deep inside the wls server iis.

In addition, ADF libs have no dependency on the WLS version (currently our WLS East of 10.3.5.0) as I can run any version ADF (11 GR 1 material, 11 2 GR) on WLS 10.3.5.0?

There are some dependencies since the libs a WLS version. In the bookstores of adf later this are minimal as you use WLS 10.3.5 to run JDev 11.1.1.5, JDev 11.1.1.6, JDev 11.1.2.0, JDev 11.1.2.1. 11.1.2.2 JDev can be UN on WLS 10.3.5 (JDev 11.1.2.20 internal server is actually a WLS 10.3.5) but I would so do as I'm not sure you get patches for this combination.

  • storage of static content on the application server or Web server

    Hello
Is it worth to separate the static content such as images, css on separate web server and application server.

We use version10.0 of Oracle weblogic server.

    Please, share your experience.

    Thank you
    / Ashwani

Decision to store static content on the Application Server or Server Web is dependent mainly on below facts.

    (1) total size of static content
    (2) frequency of use of static content
    (3) Machine accommodated for application server performance
    (4) the network speed between the Web and application servers
    (5) level of security of the information processing application and pages
    (6) is static content created on demand?
    (7) review delays in deployment and added additional efforts.

Let me know, if you can understand this impact on decisions facts? another I'll spend the time to write more.

  • Number of databases such as Oracle and SQL Server in the same application ADF

    Hello

In my application, I need to use two different databases such as Oracle and SQL Server. There are screens that I need to develop in the ADF where I need to involve fields of the tables in these two different databases. I just want to know - is it possible to do so in application of the ADF?

Or to create a sort of link between these databases in the backend? Then create a view object involving some distributed SQL queries. What can I do with this type of request than anything? I mean, can I use the two insert or update operation using this VO?

Or y at - it another way to do this?

Please help, help here would be really appreciated. I've been stuck with this problem for a while now. I did search our forums for the same problem, but was not able to find a reliable solution.

    Thank you
    Vijay

It's still not clear to me if you need two db tables in a query, or a transaction.
If this is the case, your best option (to my knowledge) is to use a db link. in this way, you only need to access (for example the oracle db) and can access the objects from the other data from the oracle database.
    I don't understand
    >
    (3) a model project with a meeting of the two datasource. I selected a data source and created OT and VO. When I have selected a different data source and select tables to create VO and EO and finished but these EO and VO is displayed in project. >

    (2) If you need to link data from these two dbs you can not use this approach (see the note at the top of the post)

  • Same application looks different in the Test and Prod Server

We have an application of ADF deployed in our test Weblogic server that seems different from that of the same application deployed on our production server, even if the same jar file is deployed both.  For example, the background of the page is a different color.  We have done a healing of ADF very little, but it comes with the jar file and is the same.  One difference I see is the class that is generated in the body of the jspx tag.  In the test it is < body class = ".p_AFMaximized .x 141" >, but Prod is < body class = ". x13q.p_AFMaximized" >

We really want to solve this problem without reinstalling Weblogic in prod.  Any ideas on why the environments are different?

    Our info JDeveloper is:

    Java (TM) Platform 1.6.0_24

    Oracle IDE 11.1.2.4.39.64.36.1

    Support versioning 11.1.2.4.39.64.36.1

We run Weblogic version 10.3.5.0 under Linux.

Our prod environment used to have some libraries included Webcenter, and the person who set up the prod environment disappeared.  We have removed these additional libraries, and now the libraries in both environments look identical.  They are here.

    Dale

Dale, I just remove some libraries will not do. Libraries are wired upward into several files meta on the server when they were installed. There is no official way to remove some libraries.

You must first check if the adf on the server version is identical to the test. For this, you can use the web service I wrote (https://tompeez.wordpress.com/2012/02/05/adf-how-to-find-out-which-adf-version-is-installed-on-a-manged-weblogic-server/). It is a mask of sign service that does not use adf, but check lol look in the right container to get the version information. This service doesn't have a user interface, you get the info by testing the service once you have installed the service in the administration console or steering business you use soapUi.

If the versions are identical, you dig deeper. You must parse the logfile of servers with care. Unduly your application from the server, deeply it again and before everyone started working with the control of the application log for messages about missing skin. If the server does not find the base skin, is used by default an another skin that will produce this behavior. If you don't find anything, launch the application and look at the log.
