Adjustment for mode 'sleep'

When I'm not active on my desktop, after 30 to 60 minutes it stops automatically and the on/off switch flashes and sometimes the fan turns on.  The screen goes black.  Then after a certain while lights return.  I can get it back by pressing the Start button.  Does every night anywhere from 1 to 15 times.  Down in the status bar, it puts an icon with a bubble that says that he lost the internet connection.  If I touch the icons with the slider, they disappear.  I know there is an internet connection, because my wife's cell phone still works fine.  Y at - it no adjustment for this.  He began doing this a few months ago.  Thank you!

Welcome to the forums. It was probably a long time since you read the manual for that machine circa 2004. The manual will tell you how to adjust settings. http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00167044.pdf on pages 4-6.

Nice to see that someone else like XP. (I have several XP machines at this time).

  • Thunderbird freezes when Windows 10 fate of mode 'sleep'. SOLVED by disabling lightning, provider for Google Calendar and calendar Tweak

Since the update of Windows 7 Windows 10, Thunderbird has acted erratically. At random times, he keeps checking for new messages. If I then try to manually check for mail, it freezes. He meets some menu commands, but by clicking anywhere in the components (list the mailboxes), the list of messages, etc. does nothing. Sometimes, it opens a white notification window, which I can only get rid of kill it with Task Manager. More often, if I just close Thunderbird and start it again, it starts working normally again... For a period of time. The problem seems to happen most often when I turn Windows off mode 'sleep', but

    I'm currently under Thunderbird 38.2.0.

I tried to disable some add-ons that I wasn't really using. I'll see if that helps. I saw that he suggested that users with similar problems running Thunderbird with all disabled add-ons, but I also saw that it said that it is really only a temporary fix rather than a real solution and I agree. List of enabled extensions:

    Add-on Compatibility Reporter 1.1.1
    The Update Checker 2.13 module
    Check compatibility 1.3.1
    Compact header 2.1.0
Mark all as read button 0.7.1
Reduce to a minimum at Lac revived 1.1.2.1

Any other suggestions? Anyone else having the same problem? I saw a few others with Windows 10 problems, but nothing quite matched mine.

Thanks for the help. Until now, deactivation of lightning, provider for Google Calendar and calendar Tweaks seems to have solved the problem. If it begins to freeze again, I'll do Mode without fail a test.

  • Is it bad if you left your macbook pro in mode 'sleep' for 2 days?

so I am only new macbook stuff and I have a problem. I hope you guys can help me...

This bothered me and I need to have a concrete answer.

BTW, it of also my first macbook pro 13 "with the retina and im a little FAKE and simply wanted the best for my mac.

so I ate dinner on Saturday night and I put my mac to sleep and thought I'll come back on that a little later but then some of my family members came rushing in our House and I totally forgot the mac. they left Sunday. So today, Monday, 01:36, I decided to use it again and now I forgot to close! I am a shutter downer and I rarely put to sleep for a few reasons of OCD. Ive had this mac for less than a month. Is it bad for the overall mac? Or im just paranoid?

In short, ive had to sleep during the day 1 and a half or two. And also to mention, the mac is placed inside the box, it came with it, because I have not bought anyway or the handle immediately.

    Thank you for the answers!

There is no problem to leave it in mode 'sleep'. However, do not in an enclosure for example a box or a box.

  • PC goes mode sleep when the Power Options are set for ever, etc. also can not wake up

Hi, I read the other posts on this topic, but my problem seems a little different.

I am running Windows 7 on a Dell desktop computer and I tried to run chkdsk and also the Dell diagnostics that I have some problems hard drive; However, it gets so far and the pc goes into mode 'sleep' causing me even worse problems that chkdsk/diagnoses are halfway through a volume. The pc has done this on and off tension for awhile, but hopefully not when something critical is running, even if it is a nuisance.  I did all the steps recommended here as ensure my Power Options are set, etc., but he always does.

In addition, when the pc goes to sleep, I can't wake him up by pressing the power button or any key on the keyboard.

I've been in contact with Dell and they said that it's a software problem.

Someone can suggest something else I can do (stop) the computer mode 'sleep' and also how to wake him.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I'm sorry for the late reply.

As you mentioned in your previous post, you wanted to know how to boot from the disc, I've provided the steps how to boot from the disc on my previous post. However, you can try to repair your windows using DVD for Windows 7 backup and check.

You can see this Microsoft article below that will help you fix Windows 7.

    Hello

You are able to change the brightness in Power Options Win 7?

    Check this box:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD12017W0001R01.htm

You can choose a power plant that is enabled in the profile of power you use.
You will see the option to adjust the brightness of the plan.
Set the control to the right to increase the brightness. Do this for setting battery and area setting

In addition, you should go to advanced-> display settings
Here, you must choose the brightness of the display and need to change the value of %. This defined the default display brightness when battery and AC power running

  • ZBook17: How can I keep my laptop switch mode 'sleep'

How can I keep my computer to switch into mode 'sleep'. At the moment, the screen turns off in a minute about. I adjusted all the settings of power, but nothing seems to help.

I regret that none of these steps seems to fix your problem, it's frustrating. Here are some more that you can try to see if the problem is resolved or changes in some way:

    1. Installation/update antivirus application and definitions, then run a virus in Windows scan check that no virus or malware
    2. Disabling hybrid sleep in Windows
    3. Disabling the requirement for password during the resumption of the mode standby
    4. Try a different power source

  • Window - no disc - Exception Processing Message C0000013 interferes with the mode 'sleep'

I get an error message when the computer attempts to enter the mode 'sleep', after the time runs out of screensaver.  It will not allow the pc go to the "sleep mode" and if I try all options listed... it starts then the mode "standby".  Sometimes, it appears immediately and I can ignore it by continuing the work at hand.

The message is this: Windows - No disk

    Options: Cancel try again continue

    Thank you... Joan

It would be interesting to know what your system brand and model is and what your version XP and the Service Pack, but it's just a fantasy of mine that the Microsoft Answers forum would actually make for such things when a new issue is created.  This shortfall in crude in the development of MS Answers forums unnecessarily prolongs solving simple problems.

If you don't see a message like this:

No disk, Exception Processing Message c0000013 parameters 75b6bf7c 475b6bf7c 75b6bf7c

Until you can determine what the 'real' problem is with your hardware, you can disable the pop-up message by making a registry adjustment.

Before making changes to the registry, back up your registry with this free and easy to use tool popular:

    http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/ERUNT.html

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Regedit

Click OK to open the registry editor, navigate to the following key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows

In the right pane, check the value of the ErrorMode setting.

If ErrorMode is set to 0, double click on ErrorMode and set 2 (2 = disabled).

Click OK to save the changes, and then click file, exit to close the registry editor.

Any error will always be displayed in case view the log, but you won't see any popups

Reboot your system and check the things now.

  • My hard drive will not close in mode 'sleep'

My hard drive runs continuously when my iMac 2011 model is put into mode 'sleep' or expires in mode 'sleep'. I guess that's the drive I can hear something quietly spinning inside.and computer is a little warm. It started only in recent weeks. Before that, the computer has been completely silent and gave off no heat. the operating system is El Capitan.

    Hello, Blue Roses,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I see that you have a problem with the hard drive of your iMac running when your computer goes into mode 'sleep'. I know how it is important to make sure you slowed down your drive hard when you have to. I'll be more than happy to help you with this.

You can activate the option "Put hard drives to sleep when possible" in preferences energy saver of your iMac by following this path: Apple menu > System Preferences > energy saver > put a check mark next to hard drives was able to sleep when possible. Once you have enabled this, test and see if you get the same result with the rotation of the hard drive.

The following article contains more information on energy-saving preferences:

Preferences of OS X El Capitan: energy saving

If you still have a question after that, try to start your computer in safe mode and create a new user to see if you get the same result in both. This can help to identify the problem of the current user and the whole system. The following articles will help:

OS X El Capitan: start in safe mode

OS X El Capitan: set up users on your Mac.

    See you soon!
