advantages and disadvantages of storage iCloud?

I love the backups and redundancy, but I don't want to be dependent on access to the internet to see things or hear things that used to be on my laptop of desktop machine.  Do I lose access to e-mail messages already received or sent if they are stored in the cloud?  What about pictures?  I think I'm losing the ability to listen to music that I used to have on my machine, if it is in the cloud, but maybe it's because of copy right issues.  In any case, I care more about the email first two, in particular.

Thank you

LR

iCloud is not primarily a backup.  It is intended to keep the documents and data on all your devices up-to-date.  If you use iCloud photo library and change a picture on your Mac, you can see the same changes on your other Mac or your iPhone or iPad. Import a picture on a device, and it will appear on your other devices.  Delete a photo on a device, and it will be gone from all devices.  Your iCloud photo library will be the same on all devices. If you enable the option 'Optimize storage' on one of your devices, this device will store full versions of your photos, only in smaller versions. You can browse photos, but will need an internet connection to edit photos. But without "optimisation of storage", you will have a full copy of your photo library on your device to work and can work with photos on Internet.

I think I'm losing the ability to listen to music that I used to have on my machine, if it is in the cloud, but maybe it's because of copy right issues.

With iTunes game, you can keep all your music stored locally as well. With apple Music, you can download the music you want to store for offline listening.

Your Mac will keep messages Amil, that you have already downloaded there and you can read them offline.

But remember, iCloud is not a backup. It's your job to central storage. Any change is immediate. You should always keep local backups as well.

  • What are the advantages and disadvantages of using iCloud drive (or other Cloud services) compared with iTunes game against external hard drive, Solid State etc. to store my songs iTunes, playlists, ratings etc?

First question: what are the advantages and disadvantages of using iCloud drive (or other Cloud services) compared with iTunes Match against Solid State external hard drive etc to store my songs iTunes, playlists, ratings etc?

Please let me know what are the alternatives for storage of my songs, playlists, song etc. other than iTunes game ratings ($ 24.99 / year)?  Is there a way to store all my songs with my song ratings, playlists, etc. with a CD song quality? Most of my (currently 130 GB) songs on my computer are CD quality that I prefer to keep as well as my notes of each song (i.e. 5 * vs. 4 * etc.), playlists, groups (music, classical, popular, country etc.).  What are the advantages and disadvantages to store my iTunes songs while CD quality with my personal notes, reading lists, groupings in the cloud?  ICloud of Apple Drive ($ 2.99 per month or $36 / year for 200 GB) would be the best way to automatically update and maintain my rankings iTunes personal including the future editions of the song etc or using Amazon, IBM, Microsoft etc cloud or an external hard drive SSD would work as well and maybe cheaper?  I currently have my iTunes on a PC of 2007 with vista (I use a 1 8T Western Digital external upward by car for my personal info all over HP, songs, photos etc. which is currently close to 170 GB) but also have an Apple i-phone 6 & I Air cushion.  Although I did not need to have all of my music with all their sides, etc. available on all of my devices at all times as iTunes game, I still would have easy access to information on both my PC and my iPhone or iPad?  Thank you.

    In my opinion?

I back up my data to an external drive for several reasons.  The first is my data - if I put on the cloud, someone else has control over it, they can see what I have and change the preferences to what they see of marketing.

Almost as important as that - if I had to rely on the cloud whenever I wanted to update my playlists on my phone, I need a better internet connection I have now (working at sea).  To get the best out of the cloud, you need a solid link to home, work or mobile.

As a spin-off - I hate the fact that Apple take away a feature in their software updates and then allow an app to be sold in their store to replace this feature - or worse still, some features that were available before the updates are now "cloud only."  And Yes - you have to pay for the cloud.  I like most of the people do not appreciate the 'accomplished fact. "

From the back of the external hard drive ASI downside, is that to be safe, you need to store outside in a separate computer place.  If keep you them together, if one is lost, probably, they are both.  That is to say for me a full backup before you travel, then a new upward as soon as I go home.  Downside is how much data may be lost between the two back ups if I needed to restore.  For me, its worth the risk.  If I was away and say had bought a ton of new music and couldn't go home anytime soon, I can always head to the store and buy a new external drive, they are massively expensive.  Even if my computer has to go for repair and my remote is to halfway around the world - I want to buy a new one.

Now, some will say that once you buy a new external, you spend more than you would on a cloud subscription.  It's true, but in the 6 years following the purchase of Mac that I've only had to buy a new external once - so with a little luck and planning - it works.

I left took well - I am not a subscriber of cloud, nor do I want to be.

  • Advantages and disadvantages of adding programs and the operating system windows to mac?

For a long time Windows user., new Mac user. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the addition of the windows operating system and programs for the MacBook Pro? I use word and excel regularly, but not yet sure I want or should add capacity to my new Mac.

If you need Windows programs that don't have any equivalent of Mac, there is nothing wrong with it.  I have not because I didn't need Windows programs.

    But...

If you do, you must decide if you need full-system-resources (Bootcamp, boot sector corrupted system, OSX will sleep while Windows is running) or just one-environment virtual (VM, share system resources, runs as a 'guest' to OSX at the same time as OSX).  Bootcamp will have part of your partitioned drive so make sure you have spare disk space.

And if you go Bootcamp, position and spend time in the Bootcamp Boot Camp forum where lonely T is an expert who can guide you.

  • need of five advantages and disadvantages of the windows 2000 operating system

I'm looking for five the advantages and disadvantages of windows 2000 for my children ok operating system

I can't get to five of each, but...

Windows 2000 has been designed more as an OS company than a House, so should be the characteristics that probably would not need a home user. Plus it's really, REALLY old that dare go, and there is no support for it (end of July 2010). There is not much more for new audio and video devices driver support. It is not really designed for the game, if that's what they have to.

You do not mention their age and what level of expertise they have. Don't forget that with EOS, there is no update security more released for it.

  • advantages and disadvantages of the use of PSG vs msc mode?

I tried to find that answering this question somewhere else, but so far without success.  I recently got a Sansa fuse and this is the first time that I had to worry about the MSC vs MTP modes.

With all the debates of the MTP and MSC are and how to change the mode that it's in, what operating support systems what mode, etc etc etc...

I have not found anything specific to the Sansa fuse which tells me what mode is 'better' to use when I have a choice.  I know "better" is relative, but what are the advantages and disadvantages of each mode?  So far the only annoying I found on DPW is that you cannot use the option 'remove hardware safely' on most of the Windows OS, and that makes me a little nervous.  But it looks like one big annoying thing on MSC seems to be (?) that you can't always see what's on your drive when you are in Windows Explorer.

Any other pro and con on how choose (assuming you are using an operating system where you have a choice).

    Thank you!

Use MSC unless you have a subscription (Rhapsody, Napster, Overdrive) service which must transfer the information of DRM (digital rights misery), which only works with PSG.

  • What are the advantages and disadvantages about installing vSphere 5 on USB

I am having trouble to make the iscsi boot and mused with a temporary workaround.
I want to install vSphere 5 on a USB key, boot on USB and when all the problems with boot iscsi are resolved, use vMotion to migrate the virtual machine to another ESX host.

What are the advantages and disadvantages regaring USB-install?

Maybe it's even better that run start iscsi.

    Hello

We have no difference between USB install and install ESXi on hard drive. all functions and features are the same. You have following additional configuration on USB Installer if necessary

    -Remote Syslog configuration

-Netdump configuration or change the coredump on hard drive partition by creating additional VMKcore on hard drive.

-Try to use the qualified USB key (refer to the hardware vendor documentation).

Not looking for any specific limitation other than mentioned above.

  • Print as image - advantages and disadvantages

    Hello

I would like to know what are the advantages and disadvantages of setting print as image in the player?

Recently I came to problem that prevented the PDF file for printing on HP OfficeJet 8000 A811. It was about 40 PDF pages and a page could not be printed.

After some research, I realized that this is because of some additional fonts that was used on this page.

I am mainly interested however. Is printed larger employment (slower)? Cartridge consuption is superior? ...

    Thanks for any response.

It may be more slow Yes but you always print the same amount of material, so you should not use any Ink/toner. Except that it is slow, I'm not aware of a cons.

Of course, I'd rather print a properly formulated pdf that does not require me to use as picture.

  • What are the advantages and disadvantages of the two "listener: Dynamic & static record.

    Hello
What are the advantages and disadvantages of dynamic registration of the listener?
    and
What are the advantages and disadvantages of the static recording of the listener?

    Thank you
    Uday

Some facilities (for example, restart with the Data Guard Broker) will not work unless you appropriate defne registered staticly service. Other facilities (failover of such service) do not work unless you use a dynamically registered service.
Decide what you want to implement and configure registration accordingly. There is no "advantages and disadvantages".

    a few drawbacks:

-a higher price of the MS license, since you need an Enterprise edition

-more management and complexity to run a MSCS compared to for example 2 member servers (RDM s, networks,...)

    some pros:

-greater availability than HA and pi

-a host crash or crash OS comments is treated without much downtime

-Windows updates can be made without interruption of service

  • What are the advantages and disadvantages for the largest block size and

What are the advantages and disadvantages for the largest and the smallest block size block size?

    Smaller size of block

    Benefits
Relatively large GoodHas air space due to metadata
    (i.e. block the header).
Not recommended for the outline. He could only
be stored for each block, or worse, a few lines line
If one line does not fit into a block, for small lines with a lot of chance of chaining
    access.
    Reduced block contention.
    Disadvantages
A relatively large air space due to metadata
    (i.e. block the header).
Not recommended for the outline. He could only
be stored for each block, or worse, a few lines line
If one line does not fit into a block of chaining.

    Larger size of block

    Benefits
Lower overhead, so there is more
    room to store the data.
Allowed to read a number of lines in
the buffer with a single I/o cache
(according to the size of line and block size).
Good for very large or sequential access
    lines (for example, LOB data).
    Disadvantages
Waste of space in the buffer cache, if you
random access to small lines and have a large block
size. For example, with a size of 8 KB block and 50
size byte of the line, you will lose 7 950 bytes in the buffer
When you make a random access cache.
Not good for the index used in an OLTP blocks
environment, as they increase the claim to block
on the leaves of index blocks.

  • Advantages and disadvantages of the move to 64-bit (part of the migration of Windows 7)

Windows 7 offers the first decent opportunity for many people to move from 32 to 64-bit.  Why would we want to do this?

What are the main benefits of the 64-bit to 32-bit?  The disadvantages?
How much faster (what) is 64 bit to 32 bit?
How do you know that all your hardware is compatible with 64 bit?
What is the processing power weaker, you have to correctly run Windows 7 64 bit?  32 bit?
How much RAM if you properly run Windows 7 64 bit?  32 bit?
What is the best way to find or fix compatibility issues software (64/32)?
What are the most common upgrade problems wait?
Where are the best places to find solutions?
-Answers to all these questions would be useful for me and probably many others.  I know that Microsoft may have already reported their views on most of them, but I'm looking for a more objective point of view.  Thank you.--

    1. a 64 bit OS allows you to use more than 4 GB of RAM. If you have programs that like a lot of RAM (Photoshop, video editing, CAD), it's a good thing. Some video games also take advantage of 64-bit computing.

    2. a 64-bit operating system run 32-bit programs. If there is a 64-bit version of a program is the program mftr. Search on the program mftrs different.' Web sites.

    3. you know that your hardware is compatible with 64 - bit on hardware mftrs.' Web sites and doing research. If you have an OEM computer (Dell, HP, etc.) you are linger everything first. You should always check for devices such as printers, etc. You must have 64-bit for all your hardware drivers.

    4. the amount of RAM you want depends on what you do on your computer. Nobody can answer you. If you surf and email, and play casual games, 2 GB is fine. If you play the video of high-intensity games, you'll want to 3-4GB and a great video card. If you do CAD, you may want 4-6 GB. Do your search according to your computing needs.

    5. for software compatibility, you will have to deal individually with each program. The logical starting point is with the technical support of the program.

    6. you cannot upgrade a 32 bit OS to a 64-bit OS. You must do a clean install.

    http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/Win7.html#System_Requirements

Only, I would buy an operating system to 64-bit right now is 32-bit will be eliminated. Of course, you must have the material to support!

  • [Standby Database] Advantage and disadvantage of using stanby redolog

Hi comrade DBA. I would ask the disadvantage and the advantage of using standby redo logs. I hope you could help me. Thank you

    Benefits
    1. If your wait should run on protection or maximum availability modes you must use standby recovery logs
2 recovery data written on the primary will be written to sleep at the same time. so if you primary fails, you have a fall back option with or without the minimum data lost.
(LGWR with synchronization on maximum Protection option will have zero data loss).
    3. we use LGWR than ARCH process on the day before.
    4. If you use Destinations cascade (cascade standby databases - a day before sending it again to another wait) then you must use standby recovery logs.
5 standby redo logs can create even after the creation of the database pending.

    Disadvantages
    1. your primary needs to write data in two different Redo logs. Therefore, there will be a delay on the response time of the transactions.
(But with a maximum availability and LGWR aSync option will not wait the transactions to be committed to the database pending).

Refer to note 219344.1 use, benefits and Limitations of standby Redo Logs (SRL)

Hope you have an idea just about this

  • Advantages and disadvantages need to restore my computer to its factory settings

HP Pavillion Model a4310f with AMD Athlon II X 2 250 clocked (3 GHz) Win 7 64 bit Home Premium with 4 GB of RAM.  My C: Drive has free 495 GB of 585 GB.  I have a boot disk more system recovery DVDs all created when the system has been started.  I use Trend Micro Internet Security virus and spyware protection.

Why restore?  Overall, the answer is wrong.  Installed programs take 15-20 seconds to start.  The Internet response is all too slow.  No significant improvement if I stop of Trend Micro.  I see more thumbnails of photos - just file names.  For always takes to spool a file to the printer (HP Deskjet F4280 all-in-One) and half the time the printer will not align when new cartridges are installed. I don't think I have too many installed programs, but there are a few that I would Setup not again.

I had my Internet provider out there and everything checks out there - they deliver what I pay for (20 Mbit/s download and 1.30 MB/s upload).

I better leave all as is or go back and re - install only the programs that I use regularly?

    Mitch

Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion a4310f. According to the specifications, the computer is more than three years old. As time passes, a Windows installation can get cluttered with a messy registry, fragmented system of orphan files and folders/files.

In my opinion, these elements can cause the problems you are experiencing. The pros to recover the computer to a factory State, is that the performance must be returned to love the day you set up your computer. The disadvantages include having to re-install your programs, many drivers and software updates, who need back up and restore your files and personal data, etc.. Once again, in my opinion, it would be worth the effort to recover the computer to a factory State. This should cure most, if not all of your problems.

    Please send Bravo
