Advertising, freezing the icons on the taskbar

I have a laptop G7. I get this pop up telling me I need to upgrade to flash player pro. I click it off and then it freezes the icons on the taskbar. Those on the office work. I have the icon of chrome from google on this subject or I couldn't get to internet. Any ideas on how to stop this. I can restart the computer and it isn't there and they work until I get on the internet and it appears again and then he freezer them again. I don't want or need the pro version.

Hi nana4c,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using the forum, it's a great place to find answers. You have the best experience in the HP forum, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I understand that, after connecting to the Internet, you get a popup telling you that you need to update Flash Player Pro and you click out of it.  Once you have done this, freeze your task bar icons, but continue to work your desktop icons. You have Google Chrome on your desktop and are able to access the Internet after that happens.

What browser do you initially use to access the Internet?  Try starting with one another, if you do not have the same problem, I suggest to uninstall and reinstall this browser at the origin of the problem.

If you get the same result with another browser, try the following steps.

Go to the command prompt and do a right click on it and select run as administrator

Type sfc/scannow, and then press on enter

It will look for corrupted files and try to fix them.

I hope this has helped.

  • You want to uninstall Deep Freeze 6 utility after MSE installed but after the taskbar.

Before installing Microsoft Security Essentials, I had Deep Freeze 6 utility running. To install MSE, I had to "Boot Thawed" DF. Then I run MSE to scan my PC. Several viruses and spyware were found and removed/deleted. Here are the details of my concern:

    1. After analysis of my PC with MSE, my mistake was that I have reactivated Deep Freeze 6.

    2. a few days later I realized that I have more Deep Freeze so I decided to uninstall the system, but I can't find the icon more in the taskbar or in the control panel to remove the program

    3. I spent several hours trying to find solutions to retrieve Deep Freeze so I can uninstall it, went to programs files in the folder of Faronics, attempted to manipulate the icon that I saw thinking it would work, but it does not open as in the icon that appeared previously in the taskbar

4 tried the system restore, but because Deep Freeze has been activated, the PC goes to its original state and no restore point is created after booting up.

5 tried to seek solutions from other sites, not a function ctl + alt + SHIFT + F6, but nothing worked.

    6. I am using Windows Vista

Can you have solutions for me because I need to download the latest version of IE, and other files that I need for my research. Thank you.

    Hello

You can try the following procedure:

    1. Locate the installation file you used to install Deep Freeze on your computer. By default, the name of this file is called "DF5Std.exe" for versions 5.X and "DF6Std.exe" for versions 6.X.

    2. run the Installer (DF5Std.exe or DF6Std.exe).

    3. Select the option "uninstall."

4 Deep Freeze is uninstalled and your computer restarts.

If this does not help, then I suggest you contact Faronics for more support.

  • How to configure the desktop or the taskbar icon/link to Firefox so 42 or more recent version of Firefox always opens in a 'new private window'?

I use Linux on my Acer laptop. I want to use Mozilla Firefox version 42.0 or more recent in the 'new private window Mode"always. When I click on the Firefox icon on my desktop or the taskbar, I want Firefox to open in 'New private window' always; no exception. When I click on the tab button or a link, all new pages should always open 'Private window' mode. In addition, I want to know that I am in a private window with privacy mask showing. Your help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you, Amos.

Hi Amos, assuming you want to get more protection, monitoring, there are a few options:

    • You can customize your firefox shortcut on the desktop or the taskbar to open firefox directly in private browsing mode: right-click the shortcut "mozilla firefox", go to properties, and at the end of the target line that should hold them the way to the firefox program folder add " -private"
    • You can enable protection followed not only during private browsing, but in normal windows as hollow a 'hidden' preference: enter on: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears) and search for the preference named privacy.trackingprotection.enabled. Double-click it and change its value to true.
    • You can set firefox don't remember history in the menu > options > sign confidentiality in order to always run in private browsing mode. However you will not be able to open all normal windows or record the history and passwords if you have defined this mode: confidentiality, and-not-track browsing history settings
  • How can I configure the button or the download icon in my taskbar? It is therefore visible without always having to look for downloads

The download button never displays on my screen or the taskbar. How do I set it so it doesn't? I couldn't find the answer to this on my research...

If you mean the animation down arrow/progress bar icon described in support- where to find and manage files in Firefox downloaded article - it should be there by default. Sometimes if you find yourself with too many buttons/icons on the toolbar, some controls 'overflow' on a drop-down list. The button for the menu drop-down has an > > icon. If you find that you can use customize to set the download button to a more useful location.

If it isn't here either, consider using the "Restore default settings" button down in the center of tab customize to return toolbars "defect". This article is for details on customize: Customize Firefox commands, buttons, and toolbars.

I had a lot of problems with Vi-view infecting Firefox recently, but I have deleted successfully. Train removed and reinstalled Firefox. On the re-setup, Firefox works perfectly. However, if I close the program and try to open it, I have a problem. An icon appears in the taskbar and if I go over it, it shows a normal startup of Firefox tab. However, I can't optimize the screen to use the program. If I try to bring it to the top, a small picture will fly to the right of the screen. I have installed Chrome and IE11 and I checked to make sure that the Vi-view is no longer present on the machine to make sure that this virus was not the problem.

  • left-click on the icon of firefox in the taskbar displays a list of all open tabs. Windows 7 - Solution

I used to have an application icon on the taskbar of Windows 7 and it will give the list the number of open windows if I have left until it clicks. But the icon of Firefox seems to have lots of windows open, except that each entry is a different tab in the single window, I opened...

'Zero' has a question archived in the same sense in which he got a response, and I tried to find the "was this answer useful?" to add a yes vote for her, but cannot vote on things in archive...

So I write a similar question with the answer that I have found useful.

    SOLUTION
In tools > Options, open the "Tabs" tab: uncheck the box prΘvisualisation, "Show tab in the Windows task bar."

In my case, immediately displays taskbar icon an entry by the window open, bearing the title of the currently opened tab. Zero had to restart Firefox to see its new configuration to take effect.

Now, if I opened another window in Firefox, the Firefox icon displays a list of open windows. He cut down the mess!

Zero was running Windows 7 and Firefox 22, I'm 34 of Firefox.

Edited to remove [b] for "BOLD".

    SOLUTION

In tools > Options, open the "Tabs" tab: uncheck the box prΘvisualisation, "Show tab in the Windows task bar."

  • using the taskbar icon made a right-click menu options 'tasks' disappeared

I'm on FF 34.0.5 running on Windows 7 Ultimate (V6.1 Build 7601, SP1). Since a few days the options of 'tasks' on the right, click on the menu of the taskbar icon disappeared. The rest is two (three times current running FF) lines: unpin and FF.
I tried the solution proposed by https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/994990 without success. The browser.taskbar.lastgroupid keeps returning to this string "E7CF176E110C211B" as the set of users.
I even uninstalled completely, including the folder in Program Files and my FF profile. None of the measures has helped.

The highest browser.taskbar... has the same value after re-installation. The key containing this value is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Mozilla\Firefox\TaskBarIDs, with two values "default = not defined" and "C:\\Program Files (x 86) \\Mozilla Firefox" = "E7CF176E110C211B."

How can I return this feature?
    Thanks for the help

  • icon of the taskbar right-click menu 'task' gone

When I right click on the taskbar icon, I used to get several options, including a section called tasks. However, for about two days, I now only get three options of Mozilla Firefox, remove this program from the taskbar and close the window. I don't know where the options to open a new tab, open a new window, etc. I did change all the parameters of topic: config and tried to reinstall firefox without success. If there is a possible fix, please help.

Edit, I rechecked to the subject: config just now and found that browser.taskbar.lastgroupid keeps returning to the user being bold. I'm certain I have reset the first time, but I did it again for fun and at least for now I seem to have the right click menu rear complete with tasks and frequent. Thank you so much Gingerbread Man and someone else who posted suggestions. Your a lifesaver!

  • The icon of firefox on the desktop and the taskbar has changed, how can I change this back.

Recently, I installed firefox on another computer and doing other things, I then noticed that the icon in the taskbar had changed and when I tried to put the shortcut on the desktop, the icon that is displayed is a file folder. I want just the icon of firefox back.

So far I've solved the problem by going into the properties on the icon in the task bar and the icon has changed, rebooted the computer and the icon in the taskbar has changed to what I wanted but the file on the desktop does not, but now I don't want that one, so deleted. Thank you very much for the support provided. At soon BlueWren

  • After the 24 Firefox update, Windows 7 64-bit breaks on reboot. The network in the taskbar icon is not ready (blue circle stopped).

After 24 of Firefox update, Windows 7 breaks after the reboot. The network in the taskbar icon is not ready (blue circle on the wireless network icon). But I can't do much. I can't open the network and sharing Center (never opened). Even the Task Manager hangs when I click to show processes from all users. I have to do a system restore for a network working again. I never even launched Firefox.

Wow... I finally have the solution. Windows updates have been applied at the same time I updated Firefox. Bluetooth driver is what broke (which is part of the Centrino wireless). I ended up installing the latest driver from Intel, Windows Update, and then update Firefox... and all is well.

I thank very you much for all your help. Take care.

  • left-click on the icon of firefox in the taskbar displays a list of all the tabs. How to open just to the last tab?

I use the tab grouping feature a lot. It means that I have 100s of tabs open at any time.

The problem: once a switch between tab groups, the Firefox icon in the task bar changes in what looks like multiple echoes of the Firefox icon. I guess this is supposed to represent several groups of tabs.

Before the 20th of Firefox might click on the Firefox icon in the taskbar, and would come to the top and show the last tab, I worked on Firefox.

Since Firefox 20 a left click on the Firefox icon in the task bar now displays a list of the 28 tab + seemingly random tabs. Many of them said only: "Mozilla Firefox" instead of the site represented by this tab (because the tab has not been accessed recently).

To open Firefox to the last tab, that I worked on is now a real chore. I now have to choose one of these tabs 28 + (which is 99% of the time the tab bad), then switch to the Group of the appropriate tab and then find the tab I've worked on. It usually takes 5-10 clicks to get back to where I was before I've minimized Firefox, or before that Firefox has lost focus. (In the past I could simply click on the Firefox in the taskbar, and restored Firefox icon where I left last.)

How can I disable the list that is displayed when a left click or move the mouse over the Firefox icon in the taskbar? I would like the ability to minimize/restore Firefox by clicking on the Firefox icon in the taskbar, as it was in the past, do not get a choice of random tabs.

I think that I thought about it. Under OPTIONS > OPTIONS > TAB, uncheck the box for "Show glimpses of tab in the Windows task bar" and then click OK

  • 10.0 Firefox now creates a new icon on the taskbar of Windows 7 whn launched. Why?

With earlier versions of Firefox on Windows 7, I got 1 icon on the task bar and I would stay at this icon to go to the program. Now, at the launch of Firefox, that it creates an icon on the taskbar and it is confusing, because I'm used to return to the original icon, except that now it opens a new session of Firefox that I don't want. How to return to 1 icon?

After clicking on the favorite taskbar icon and firefox opens a "new Session".
DETACH the old icon and the PIN, then the "New Session" icon.

Then from this point on 1 single icon will appear in the taskbar.

  • Firefox10 presents a new icon in the taskbar rather than display it in the same symbol

Firefox10 updated and now it opens a new Firefox icon when Firefox is running rather than change taskbar icon to display its execution. This mess up my whole task bar Setup. Quite annoying.

    Hello

You can try to Remove the old icon and the PIN to the taskbar for the new icon from the start.
