advisable to use flexflash, or not?

Hello!

I have a C220M3 on which I intend to install some Cisco's UC Applications.

Now, I was wondering, is it considered good practices for the installation of the hypervisor on the map Flexflash?

Or is it better to install it on the DAS?

I only have a Flexflash card. Can I use this only if I have 2, or should I still go ahead and install the HV here?

What are the Up / disadvantages?

I'd appreciate some advice here!

Thank you!

Userspace (HV Partition) on the FlexFlash discs are intended for customers to use as an alternative boot device.  It is ideal for the ESXi hypervisor.   FlexFlash turned out to be stable and reliable, but like any technology, there is the potential for questions.

The increase is cost benfit to customers.

Most customers want to take advantage of the mobility of servers virtualized using VMotion.  To do this, a shared data store.  For this reason visitors often use a minimum configuration of hard disk for startup purposes.  The VMWare hardware compatibility list requires specific controllers to be used with the software.  Because of that customers would be forced to use one of the options of hardware RAID controller with the server of the C series.  Also, they will often choose a pair of hard drives for redundancy.

VMware supports USB boot for ESXi, but the problem there is redundancy.  If you lose the USB you have nothing save.  In version 1.5.1 of MMIC Cisco introduced features (RAID) mirrored partition of the hypervisor between 2 cards.  There is no need of additional material outside the FlexFlash controller that fits on all systems that support FlexFlash and a pair of SD cards ordered from Cisco.  This greatly reduces the cost to the customer and provide redundancy between boot devices.

When you use FlexFlash you dΘmarrez essentially ESXi USB to the extent where the system and BONES are concerned.  The most notable "downside" is that the VMWare installer will put scratch partition on the local virtual disk.  This is not advisable and it some manual configuration is required to set up a scratch location persistent.

The following VMWare Blog gives a good overview of starting from a cable USB (or SD) vs. local drives.

http://blogs.VMware.com/vSphere/2011/09/booting-ESXi-off-usbsd.html

I hope this provides the type of information you need.  If you have any other questions please let us know.

Congratulations, these are probably the two most common questions in the forum. But do not usually get us together. First of all, not possible to switch to the video at all costs. I'm sorry. Computer laptop GPUS are hard soldered and uneditable except on a small handlful of laptops not including yours. Second, unless the laptop is deskbound for weeks in a row is not worth to take the battery out just to prolong her life.

  • Bytes to Port property node. When to use and when not?

    Hi all

Ive frequently used bytes to port property node performing bed series and have not experienced any problems.  I've heard mixed on this subject reviews and I would like to know when to use and when not to use it.

    Thanks for any input.

I will start by when it should not be used.

When there are (as readable) ASCII data to come through and it is separated by a termination character.  Select the stop character and read more bytes than you ever expect a given message.

When there are binary data, but a protocol where you know clearly how the message package is put in place.  In this case, you want to disable the stop character because any octet can be given legitimate and be interpreted as the stop character.  With these protocols, if you know the message is always X bytes, read X bytes.  If the message is of variable length, but the Protocol is set to tell you low for a long time the message is, and then make partial readings.  So if each message starts with 2 bytes that says follow X bytes.  Then read 2 bytes, which converted to a number, then read this number of bytes.

    When to use:

The only time will really use bytes to the port is if you use a terminal of the installation type.  Just enter and display on-screen what never happens happened at the port since the last time it was read.  When you don't care where are message breaks.

If you use bytes to the port and care message breaks, then you're obligated to all your new message concatenated to a string, you store in a shift register and each reading analysis through data to determine if you have a complete message and valid.  If you do not, do nothing and go back and read more.  In fact, you will need to run through the chain of data several times in a row before coming back to reread in the case where the message ever resulted in a single reading packets.

The vast majority of applications falls into one of the above situations.  The last situation is not as common, and if you use bytes to the port with a system of e-mail that has defined a defined protocol or packages, you do a job more in programming to maintain a software buffer of data as well as the hardware buffer to the serial port.

  • Error 633: the modem (or other connecting device) is already in use or is not configured correctly. Any solution?

I have Microsoft Vista Home Premium edition. I use the data card (broadband +, model - HUAWEI EC1262) to connect to the internet.
I get error 633 whenever I try to use the data card to connect to the internet on my laptop. He says that "the modem (or other connecting device) is already in use or is not configured properly" and preventing me from accessing Internet.

I tried with a different brand of card data, but still getting same error. Map data even works on another laptop with Win7.

I did all the options like:
1 uninstall and reinstall modem drivers
    2. release the COM port and the new port assigng

We always get but same error. Any solution for this problem would make.

Have you tried system restore? If you can restore the system to the date where it worked fine maybe it will work.

    Hello

    1. If it works well before?

    2. what version of Modem drivers do you use?

    3. What is the model number of your computer modem?

    4. do you have other devices connected to the computer?

The error you receive is typical of drivers who don't are incorrect or not installed. You run the system with UAC turned?

I recommend you to connect the modem to another computer that is running Windows Vista and check if it detects there. If it does not work on another computer also, then the problem is with the modem and I would ask you to contact the manufacturer of the modem for any further assistance.

You can also try the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:
To resolve this problem, remove the modem, and then restart the computer. When the computer restarts, Windows detects the modem and attempts to install the driver appropriate for that. To do this, follow these steps:
    a. log in the computer as an administrator or as a member of the Administrators group.
    b. click Start and then click Control Panel.
    c. double-click phone and Modem Options.
    d. click the Modems tab.
    e. in the following modems are installed list, click the modem that you want to delete and then click Delete .
    f. click Yes in response to the ""are you sure you want to remove the modem selected from your system? " " message.
    g. restart the computer.
    h. the found new hardware wizard starts. Follow the instructions in the wizard to reinstall the modem.

    Method 2:
You can re-install the modem driver on the manufacturer's Web site and check.

I ask you to check with the help of blackberry if this file type is supported by the Blackberry phones. Normally protected by DRM files do not play on all devices that the license is purchased to play is limited to a specific device.

You must have the Blackberry Desktop Software to transfer files between your phone and the Windows computer.

  • Problem: Error 633: the modem (or other connecting device) is already in use or is not configured correctly.

While I am connected to internet using Reliance Netconnect Huawei 1260, the connection disconnects after 10 to 15 minutes. Shows as connected Netconnect but does not work. I try to disconnect the connection, but it gives an error.

Reconnect to always remove the modem and then re - login again.

Please provede me a permanent solution to this. I use Windows 7 Enterprise

    Hello

    1. If it works well before?

    2. what version of Modem drivers do you use? Do you have any other device connected to the computer?

First of all, I suggest you to check if the modem is compatible with Windows 7.

    Check out the link:

    Windows 7 Compatibility Center:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

I would also recommend to connect the modem to a different computer and check if it detects there. If it does not work on another computer also, then the problem is with the modem and I would ask you to contact the manufacturer of the modem for any further assistance.

Error 633 indicates that the port is already in use or is not configured for remote access dial out. You may need to check if the VPN and the connection connection try to use the same port that is causing the problem. You may need to check the settings of the modem and change the port for your needs.

To work around this problem, use one of the following methods:

    Method 1:

Reserves explicitly the TCP port that is used for the VPN connection. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. click Start, click run, type regedit.exe in the Open box and then click OK.

    b. in the registry editor, find and then click the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters

    (c) in the Edit menu, point tonewand then click multi-string value.

    d. rename the multi-string value as 'ReservedPorts' and then double-clickReservedPorts.

    e. in the value data box, type1723-1723, and then click OK.

    f. exit the registry editor.

Registry warning: this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/

    .

    Method 2:

Use the netstat command to find the program that is using port 1723. Then, end the process for this program. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. click Start, click run, type cmd.exe in the Open box and then click OK.

    b. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:

    NETSTAT - aon

    c. in the result which appears, identify the process ID for the program, if any, who is using the TCP port 1723.

    d. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:taskkill/pid PID/f

Note: The taskkill command terminates the process that corresponds to the ID of the process. The/F option is used forcefully to complete the process.

    e. at the command prompt, typeexitand press ENTER to quit the command prompt.

Restart your computer. This may cause the program that uses the TCP 1723 port to use a different port.

    I hope that helps!

What is the name of the mental illness?

    Duh!

An account will be considered as inactive if you don't sign not for 270 days or within the first 10 days after registering. The account will be deleted if it has been inactive for 365 days. When the account is deleted, the user name is immediately available for registration.

    Try this status Checker-

    Status Checker

When you went through the previously mentioned account recovery process link, do you have provided an alternate email address and you will be notified that you would like to be contacted?

Try to re-create the account as a new account, if it is still available.
