1. run the Microsoft Windows malicious software removal tool

2 . Download, install, update and run:SUPERAntispyware (freeware) and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (freeware).

3. run this online scan (in safe mode with network, if possible):

The result of a systematic scan with the Windows Live Safety Scanner was that my PC has been infected by adware Win32/double - and that the scanner could not remove it.

  • Cannot remove adware win32/opencandy

I am trying to remove adware win32/opencandy with the basics of microsoft security
After I removed and restarted the computer he reinstals himself a minute later

It claims here - https://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Threat/Encyclopedia/Entry.aspx?Name=Adware%3aWin32%2fOpenCandy - MSE update and run a scan completes, and then clear all temporary folders including temp IE.

If it does not, then download, install, update (updated by right-clicking on its icon and 'run as administrator' then go to the update tab) and run a complete scan with free malwarebytes.

MSE has detected and deleted & quarantined OpenCandy to my PC, it was in an installation program that I downloaded a program that I wanted to.

  • Adware: Win32/opencandy

Microsoft's analysis said: I find RHIs malware and it also know, it is partially removed. What can I do to remove it entirely? Thank you to

OpenCandy is a potentially unwanted software that might collect information about you or your computer or can change how your computer works. However, the software works in accordance with the license displayed when you installed the software.  It is detected by Microsoft as a threat of LOW level that could potentially be ignored by the parser of security or, if you have selected the option under settings to perform the default 'recommended action' value for low level threats when using MSE.

Link to FAQ to see Jim for information about removing Opencandy Installer.  You can also try the operation of the Scanner mode command line to remove potentially unwanted software low level of threat by opening a CMD command prompt in the folder where the executable file scanner is stored on disk, and then run ODILE/f: y

Note: 09/07/2011, I tried the CMD prompt above with the safety scanner.  It would not yet remove the low level Installer Opencandy.  Your best bet is to just manually delete the Opencandy installer when using the Scanner, as it is the only place of the disc where the adware is detected...

  • can or is there something that can help me to remove the adware; virus win32/open candy from my computer?

There are a lot of things going on in my computer right now, worries me to death, one is called an adware: win32/open candy I guess than the virus. And it is a small thing, but still worry thaat essentials of microsoft has removed only one of them. I also ran the microsoft Scanner and it has not picked up and was not deleted. And I want to change my password to something a little more decent right now. I try to start over all of mine from scratch, because I learned from microsoft a lot what they taught me. But I need a clean start. I need to do something of everything again. I don't want anyone to know who I'm not. I'm afraid that now. I would like to make a few settings that I feel I have to now change hotmail.com and facebook.com and with yahoo.com as well. But I have to be able to do this. I realize that this will be an alias. But considering what I had to go through last month, and even now, I think it would be much better for me.

This thread covers OpenCandy (a matter of gravity low adware) pick-up with MSE:

What is your MSE settings > action for low alert threat level defined as default?  Try to set quarantine if it is not already configured on that and don't forget to save the changes.  Also, remember that you can seek assistance from MSE free via the web, by email or by phone if necessary.

    Hello

Microsoft security scanner is not a replacement for antivirus software. To completely remove the adware win32/EoRezo, you can use Microsoft Security Essentials on your computer. It is compatible with your operating system to Windows 7. For more information and to download this program, please click here.

    Hello

What is the name of the program which is at the top "just popped up?

You can use this method to find malware.

Scan of Malware in Safe Mode with network.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/how-to-start-Windows-in-safe-mode/#winxo

    Windows XP

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the machine starts first, yet once it will list usually some equipment that is installed on your machine, amount of memory, hard drives installed etc. At this point you should tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with a menu of Advanced Options in Windows XP.
    3. Select the Safe Mode with networking option using the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start safe mode.
    5. Make all the necessary tasks and when finished restart to start in normal mode.

Once in Safe Mode with network, download and run RKill.

RKill does NOT remove the malware; It stops the Malware process that gives you a chance to remove it with your security programs.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/

Then, download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware in Mode safe mode with networking:

This message is not in MSE. If you have an AV/program installed (AND you can), update the latest definitions, start in safe mode (without network), and then run a full scan. I would hazard a guess that you have downloaded something in this setup.exe which is not really a program AV. It would be likely to send all your personal information, including passwords and account numbers, to someone you definitely don't want it to be.

If you do not have an AV installed, follow these tips:

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

    * MalwareBytes (FREE) http://malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php>
    * (FREE) SuperAntiSpyware http://superantispyware.com/downloadfile.html?productid=SUPERANTISPYWAREFREE>

Delete all what they find, reboot when necessary. (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

Then perform a scan with the eSet Online Scanner http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanneronline >.
