Aero Peek features stop working.

I tried to reach the service the customer in this respect, but whenever I type in my product ID of Windows 7 to help it says "there was a problem with the product ID.  Please re - enter... "and I can not get anywhere.

In any case, I've just upgraded to Windows 7 a few days ago.  I noticed that the characteristics of transparency and peek stop working after a while.  Sometimes it's for a day, sometimes only a few hours.  I made sure that all the options are checked on Aero in the Panel of control Performance and information tools.  The only way to get these features is running again is to restart the computer.

Here are my computer specs: HP a6755y.  Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.  6 GB OF RAM.  AMD Phenom 2.2 Ghz.  Video ATI HD3200 card.

I could go to the HP website and see if they have updated all drivers for your videocard ATI HD3200. Make sure that you get the right driver for Windows 7 64-bit.

If they do not have an updated driver, you can check with ATI.

You can also view a clean boot to see if there is any other software which may be in conflict and cause a problem. Use this article for steps to a clean boot.

  • Aero Peek doesn't work now does not

    Here's all the sordid details.  Mobile workstation HP 8760w with Nvidia Quadro 3000 M GPU, 8 GB of RAM, Windows 7 64-bit, 128 GB SSD,... etc. 18 months of use, has been remarkable.  Last week, Aero Peek suddenly stopped working. I tried all sorts of things, including the following, without result;

    (1) restoration of the system of at least three different times, earlier (no updates were applied before failing Aero).

    (2) deleted the cache of WIndows Experience Index and re-reun coast at least a dozen times (it must be deleted or it crashes) (result of-7, 1-7.5)

    (3) personalization troubleshooting Aero reports without errors or questions.

    (4) Microsoft FIxIt Aero Troubleshooter says my video can't run Aero (though again, it has 18 months).

    (5) deleted, updated, modified, deleted, updated, changed... For the Quadro 3000 M NVIDIA drivers (even to aid version of HP on their Web site).

    (6) update of the BIOS and other firmware/drivers from HP on this laptop.

    7) opened a case with Nvidia (still in the wait - they ask me if I have uninstalled and reinstalled it, even though I told them that I have 10 times).

    (8) tried to run without Nvidia software installed at all.

    (9) checked for EnableAeroPeek registry entry by many other suggestions and articles. Even some added and then removed the other.

    (10) created a new Admin profile locally on the laptop.

    (11) run a SFCScan and it came back fine.

    Aero options do not appear in the Visual effects and the opton use Aero Peek in the properties of the Start Menu is grayed out.  It sent me down a lot, a lot of articles.  No resolution.  Everyone has been through this pain?

    I'll put my SSD in another laptop as she (we bought 4 of them at the same time) to see if it's related material... but nothing else that seems the Aero affected, so I'm skeptical, it's going to do anything.  I'm just * hope * Miss me something.

    If you have updated your Windows then uninstall the update of platform for Windows 7 (KB2670838) and your problem should be solved.

    Before I updated my Windows this month I just checked if Microsoft still offer this update. This is in the optional list. I installed so I thought to manually upgrade to IE10 because he wasn't in the IE9 update list. So I did manually and after that check updates again and to my surprise this update has disappeared completely. I have an old PC as well, and after installing all the updates I still have no problems so far. I recommend that you upgrade to IE10 after uninstalling this update (if you updated with that and faced the problem) to get rid of the update forever. But do it at your own risk, because I never updated my machine with this defective update and see if that caused any problems with my machine.
  • The Aero Peek feature does not work on my computer that I've recently upgraded to the version of Win 7 Home Premium 32 bit.

    After you have installed Windows 7 Home premium, I noticed that the aero peek feature does not systematically after a fresh reboot upward. Sometimes when I turn on my computer the aero peek feature turns on immediately and works well. On other occasions when I turn it on it just does not come to the top. I had the box customize and found the checked enable aero peek. Still aero peek doesn't work. So to summarize if aero peek turns on it works fine. However, it does not illuminate whenever I boot my machine eventhough that the box is checked. Please notify.

    Try this: launch REGEDIT, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER and make sure that EnableAeroPeek is set to 1, rather than 0.

  • Aero Peek feature not available

    I have two monitors and for some reason any when I upgraded to Windows 7 I lost the Aero Peek feature, that I really like.

    Based on some excellent suggestions that I did the following:

    1. ran the Aero Troubleshooter and found the Advanced link and the box to the left in the 'ask repairs automatically '.

    Result: He came back with a problem found "Desktop Window Manager is disabled".

    2 I did the following:

    Locate the Desktop Window Manager Session Manager and double click on this service.

    In the Startup Type drop-down, select the Automatic option.

    In Service status , select the Start button.

    Press Apply/OK .

    Exit and restart the computer.

    (I also tried to "Restart" the service)

    Result: Aero Peek still does not work.

    New information (Finally, reorganized at least)

    I had Aero Peek to work when I disable the driver for my other one.  I have my 2nd monitor hooked up with a USB to VGA and this is the origin of the problem.  My question is, can I buy another video card to get a 2nd monitor port or what I need to buy a video card with support for dual monitors and disable the built in video card?  OR is there an adapter that may make the Aero Peek feature back?

    I downloaded the latest Windows 7 driver for the adapter, but it doesn't always.  The only way to get Aero Peek to work is to disable the driver for the second monitor.

    If I go in Panel > appearance and personalization > display > screen resolution I see only a monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 933SNPlus) in the "View" drop-down menu does not show the other monitor.

    I have the other monitor (Dell E176FP) is working on a driver that I got online.  If I in Conrol Panel > hardware and sound > devices and printers it displays an icon for the SyncMaster monitor but it shows TWO additional monitor icons.  They are the same and say 'Generic Non - pnp monitor'.

    If I go into Device Manager and in the "Cards" section, it shows a "NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430' and a ' trigger USB Graphics Chipset Family (1 P -E ) and a trigger USB Graphics Chipset Family (1 P -M ).

    I don't know if this helps, but I'd like to get Aero Peek working again if possible.  Windows 7 is the best OS I have used and I can tell that a lot of hard work and great ideas will in it.

    I tried all these things and more, WITHOUT success. HP help line didn't know how. Finally, on another chat site, I found the news that worked!  Go to the adapter in the Control Panel, Device Manager, display. I had 2 mirror drivers listed (the two HP RC - remote control, I suppose).  I uninstalled a (mirror driver right click, left click on uninstall), then restarted.  I got my Aero!  Yay!

    Aero peek doesn't work! When I put my mouse on the taskbar at the bottom of my computer, it shows just the words and not the smaller window icon. When I go to the properties of the taskbar, it is gray and I can't enable or disable it. I read some of the other issues people here and I didn't know that Office 2007 can be part of the problem. I have Office 2010 could this be the problem? This air look was one of the features that Windows boasted of and now it does not work? I'm not happy about it and nobody seems to have a solution for it! Why not??? I want answers please.

    You must have the Aero Glass theme enabled to use Aero Peek. Right-click on your desktop, click Customize > select Windows Aero under Aero themes.

    This morning my camera was dead.
    After changing, aero peek no longer works on my computer...

    I tried all these things:
    -an aero theme is selected
    -Theme service is running
    -the registry key is enabled HKEY_CURRENT_USER EnableAeroPeek
    -my graphics card is compatible with Aero and up to date.

    Aero Peek button is still gray.

    With all the steps that have been taken to solve the problem, it is rather likely, not a setting, but a corrupt user profile. You will not lose any software that you have installed by using a new user profile. You can easily transfer your data to the new profile so, take a look at the difficulty of a user profile is corrupted.

  • Windows 7 Aero Peek doesn't work don't always

    I have installed and reinstalled windows 7.  I also installed a better video card and am still having the same problem.  The peek aero on the taskbar works find but after that my computer sits for a while without being used the pop-up window no longer works and all I get is a text box.  They don't come until I restart the computer. Any suggestions?

    still no luck. It has already been set to 1.  I'm going nuts.  It's fustrating as the _____. The only thing that seems now restore it is a restart.

    I think that I could restore my system to the condition of the plant and try an upgrade installation.  I really prefer a clean install, but I'm at the point where I think I'll try something else.

    The good news is that it is supposedly fixed.  The bad news is that the fix has not yet been made public.  You could go to vote that it upward.  I add a vote and a comment that other users are affected.

  • I have a HP 1210v all-in-one printer scan feature stopped working?

    I ran the HPPSdr.exe diagnostic tools 2.0 untility and he said I have a HP TWAIN scanning error, a required component could not be found or has been incorrectly installed. Uninstalling, reinstalling the HP IMaging device and try to scan the image. I went through this ordeal and their guided solution and it is still saying HP TWAIN Scan SCANNING error, registry, Manager HP flow. He sent a test page, and it always produces the error. The scan button is just flashing on / summary and analysis will not start, then the light becomes stable. The error number produced was 4, [0,0,80040154), (2,68,8004001c),(0,0,0),(3,68,0)] I have win 7 OP system so now some features that I can't use, but I was still able to use the "scan" button before this evolution.

    If you were able to scan previously on Windows 7, you get lucky.  According to this document scanning, copying and buttons PhotoSmart Essentials does not work.  You should always be able to scan using MS Paint, however.

    Hi, I use Windows 7 Enterprise and I recently lost my overview of the taskbar. As usual, I went through Microsoft Community and checked for solutions. Bouquet of ideas were just to use the theme AERO or through advanced Visual effects and by selecting the Advanced setting to improve the appearance etc. etc. NOTHING HAS WORKED. Then I tried opening 'gpedit.msc' and checking if "Disable the taskbar thumbnails" is enabled or disabled. He showed "not configured", so I changed to disabled and restarted my laptop. Yet once, IT did NOT WORK for ME.  So I thought to post this question myself.

    Please if anyone has the solution to work, help me. Its quite difficult to work without a preview when you need to keep switching between different tasks.

  • Automatic "set associations" feature stopped working - how can I reset it?

    Running on Windows Vista Edition home premium & use hotmail to send.

    I had yesterday a prompt to update my "Real Player" that I did and in the process it has automatically installed Google Chrome - that I did not open, but simply removed from the line of Control Panel programs.

    Since then, I have been unable to open links in incoming emails and get the prompt "set associations" which is a bit silly, because I have no idea what is the file or its extension that I can't open it...!

    I tried Microsoft Customer Support - who did not to any medium, be it VERY DISAPPOINTING, just kept trying to SELL me a technical support. All they provided was a 'repair' link number 50194 - that didn't work!

    So is - anyone can help with a SIMPLE step by step to either reset is / was regardless of the service or reinstall the function that does anything in the background to open the e-mail or website links.

    Please NOTE - I am a simply an END USER and not somehow a computer technician.

    There is a checkbox in the installation of Real Player allowing you to indicate the installation not to install Chrome.  You should always read what says the screen when you install things.
