Affected by the problem of wireless connectivity. I don't remember the network key.

I unhooked computer for diagnostic purposes.  Everything was OK.  However when I reinstalled I couldn't access Internet Explorer... System has requested a network key.

The key is what you have created, be it on your router.  If you don't remember it, reset your default router.  The router manual will tell you what is the default value.

I recently bought the printer and trying to connect to my wireless network.  I followed the instructions to the letter (twice), without success.  I spent a few hours trying to solve the problems.  A few relevant details:

    Thanks in advance.

There are a few things to check here.

First, let's define an IP address of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). I think that your router is 192.168.1.2 a.51 as its range.  Choose 192.168.1.100
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Let the gateway and DNS white. Click on 'Apply' - this part is important!  The page will not respond.  Wait a few seconds, then enter the new IP of the printer to see if it responds to the new IP address.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that, you will have to redo 'Add printer' using the new IP address.

Finally, WEP is not secure and can cause problems with wireless connectivity.  It can be broken with freeware in 10 minutes approximately.  Please turn on your router to use WPA with a password strong character 13 +.

  • How can I find the network key for my home network?

I have just purchase a new laptop and access the internet via my home network. The new laptop wonder the network key. Where can I find that on my computer at home?  I had someone else set up the network for me.

The network key or WEP/WPA key, you should be able to find on your router or access point.  Open your browser and type the IP address of your router to access wireless and search of WEP security or the protection of the network area.  Quite a few routers/access points are configured as 192.168.0.1, that intellectual property then give it a shot in your browser by default.  If it is by default, the name of user/pass is always likely admin/admin or admin and then empty password.

    I hope this helps!
  • HP ENVY 17-j184na Notebook PC: problems of wireless connection on the new laptop

I bought a new laptop a few days ago and tried to connect to the network without wire in our apartment for 2 days but nothing helped.

So far, I did the following steps:

-Restore the system to factory settings.

    -Powercycled the network.

-Reset the TCP / IP / catalog Winsock.

-Checked and changed the stop option.

-Re-installed and updated all the drivers of network.

-Started in SafeMode w / networking and still unable to connect.

-Ran all 3 windows solve problems and the problem of internet connection of HP.

-Updated the BIOS with the latest version of the driver.

I created my own personal hotspot using my phone and managed to connect very well, so I think that maybe that's a problem with my laptop to connect to my router, but everything else connects very well.

I have an ethernet cable connected and has associated with perfectly too.

My laptop is a HP ENVY 17-j184na Notebook PC and my wifi specifications are

    Manufacturer: Broadcom

I don't know if that helps, but also sometimes the connection does not appear in my list of connections, but it is very rarely, about 3 - 4 times in the last 2 days.

If anyone could offer advice that could help I would really appreciate it and if someone needs additional information then please let me know (and possibly let me know how I could get this information).

Thank you in advance for anything

    Hi all

    Problem has been resolved.

Just in case someone else has the same problem, if you try to connect to a router and it communicates but don't connect does not then it might be a problem with the frequency to which you are trying to connect.

In this case, my laptop could connect only to a 5 GHz frequency but my router was capable of a frequency of 2.4 ghz, so he was able to connect to all the rest but not that. (Particularly if you use a hub SKY).

The problem has now been resolved by buying a wireless adapter card that plugs into the USB port. If you don't need to buy a Please make sure that buy you one with dual band capabilities.

I hope this helps someone in the future!

    Best regards

  • R7000, problems with wireless connection after the last firmware update 1.0.6

I recently updated to the latest firmware available for the R7000...

The upgrade went well and my Wired PC all connected without any problem, but several of my wireless devices were unable to connect to the WiFi. I have my cell phone Wifi (Android phone) kept gives me an error of authentication, but was able to connect to the network comments... weird...

I started firmware 1.0.4 and everything worked well again... it seems that the new firmware is buggy.

The Firmware versions listed above are only for the first three issues, to save typing, but you get the version that I use...

    Nick

    Hello

I would like to let you know, I've improved in 1.0.6 last night and everything worked. The difference is this time I had to reset my router to the factory settings using the reset hidden at the back button and hold the button for about 7-10 seconds. This resets the router to the factory settings. I then had to re-enter all my IP address reservations and the word block list, but all my wireless devices were able to connect. The last time I did the upgrade, I just restarted the router, and I had read that I had to do a factory reset to operate correctly.

It would have been nice for Netgear arrive at a way to extract Information form my version last-place back... it would have saved me a lot of time...

    Good luck

  • Resolved - problem of wireless connectivity "wlan0 link is down.

    Quick update:

    * If you encounter this message, make sure that you are trying to connect to a wireless "N".

Yes, he is in small print on the box, right, sony will not ask you this when you are troubleshooting.

    * If you rely on Sony for smart assistance, forgetabout it.

    * After the receiver a comment card and to express my disappointment, the call center outsource sent a letter... and when I called to discuss, they were still clueless.

Sorry, but the support structure is absolutely catastrophic.

We now return you to your regular programming...

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    OK, let's go, in detail:

My Sony dashboard came again, out of the box today. It will connect to my network.

FYI: My set of skills: I am an engineer of sales network, with an extensive network of Wi - Fi and running in my house.

After connecting the dashboard and providing configuration information, the message I get is:
    __________________________________________________

    Network configuration
    Failed network connection...

    wlan0 link is down
did not get an IP address
    Internet is inaccessible
    __________________________________________________

Like others on this forum, it seems that my dashboard won't "handshake" with my wireless router.

To try to solve problems, I did the following:

(Slot 0): both my wireless router and my attempt to connect to the sony dashboard are in my home office, so the intensity of the signal should not be a problem.

    (1) check the connectivity wireless on a multitude of home devices: laptop, TV, iPhone, ipad... in short: Wireless works. Both with fixed IP and distributed DHCP address.

    (2) restart my Rosewill RNX - N4, wireless "N".

    (3) allow my SSID be visible (that I found which helped my LG TV to connect during its initial configuration)

    (4) checked my WLAN settings on my router:

    SSID: *.
    Security mode: WPA2 only: personal
    Type of encryption: AES
    Pre-shared Key: v * m

    (5) restarted the dashboard of Sony.

    (6) wireless seems to work on the sony dash, as the configuration screen of the network about dashboard States:
    ______________________________________________

    Network configuration
    Choose a wireless connection

    ..:| (my ssid is displayed)

MAC address: (my MAC address of my wireless router is displayed)
    ______________________________________________

    (7) I select my SSID (FYI: nobody else displayed) and click (next)

    (8) place comes the next screen:
    ______________________________________________
    Network configuration
Choose the key to coding (WPA2-PSK)

    HEX)
    (o) ASCII
    ______________________________________________

    I select ASCII then (Next)

    (9) he asked my key, I carefully enter (.. .slightly annoyed that the screen will not edge to allow me to see all the characters that I'm going home)..., then click on (Next)

    (10) I choose Auto IP, as during the initial setup I keep it as simple as possible... and then hit (Next)

    (11) to the top displays the following screen:
    ______________________________________________
    Network configuration
    Confirm settings

name: (my SSID) (My MAC Address)
    AUTH: WPA2PSK encryption: AES
key: (poster in my correct key, read and validated twice)
    automatic IP allocation (DHCP)
    _____________________________________________

Completely satisfied with it, I select (Next)

    (12) the sony dashboard begins its Network Configuration / connection looking for the network and then...

    (13) the following:
    __________________________________________________

    Network configuration
    Failed network connection...

    wlan0 link is down
did not get an IP address
    Internet is inaccessible
    __________________________________________________

    (14) in an attempt to solve the problems, I also tried to set up with a static IP address:

    static IP address:
    IP: 192.168.15.20
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.15.1
    DNS1: 192.168.15.1
    DNS2: 8.8.8.8

... and the results were the same: "wlan0 link is down.

    (15) as a final step, I reset my wireless router to have no. SECURITY at ALL. Guess what? "wlan0 link is down.

At this point, I'm at a loss for what I could do "evil".

I welcome comments from other users, either to continue to solve the problem or sharing what you did to resolve your issue with connectivity.

    Thank you.

    c.

Well, here I am, a moth and a half later.

After speaking to Sony technical support...

After sending the camera back to Sony...

After having been informed by Sony that this point had problems, they need to replace parts, AND they were going to send me a new device to save time...

I get a new, and it has exactly the same features / problem.

So I try another router, same problem.

    Guess why?

Because I have my network running "N" and it's a Sony wireless B/G device.

Anyone who has mentioned in technical support... The point on the replacement due to damaged items was total BS.

If you have a network of "N", it will recognize your SSID and even to recognize the security there.

    But it does not connect.

Once I changed to a mixed G/N wireless environment, it connects.

For example, you might say my own question... should have known.

However, Sony sells a device "B/G" when almost everything comes standard "N"...

    Not cool, Sony... Not cool.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8620: HP Officejet Pro 8620 - problem with wireless connection w/computer

    Hi all

I recently bought the HP Officejet Pro 8620 and I have problems connecting with my computer.

I used the Setup Wizard to connect the printer to the wireless network of my University, and when it's over, the blue light of connectivity remains a solid blue and the screen says it is connected, which is great. However, when I use the HP Officejet Pro 8620/software of connection instillation, I always get the message,

"-L' the entered IP address is either incorrect, or it is another wireless network that has the same name as your network." Please ensure that your printer has this IP or enter the correct address below and click on search. Also, confirm that you wireless network is unique. »

I did somehow on the printer IP address is copied 100% exactly the same with the points and the message still appears and my printer is unable to connect with my computer. As another option, it says that I can use the host name to find the printer as well. However, the same thing happens. I'll type in the name of host by number and letter by letter, and again, it does not find my printer. In addition, there is only 1 network name so I know I hit the right one. Being a student, it is very important that I get things printed off the coast, it is essential for me to solve this problem. Also, I spent a lot of money on it so I need to work properly.

It should be easy to communicate that it gives me all the necessary information right in front of me, but as I said, it was not easy or fun experience. I don't really know how IP work addresses but I tried to use all the only thing that I can find that is relevant. From now on, I have to record everything in PDF format on my computer, send me unwanted, printing documents download them on my Galaxy Note 4, connect my phone to the printer using the wireless HP Direct on the Officejet and then finally I can print my things. Yes, it works like this, but it is also a concern and I shouldn't do that. I realize that I can't buy a USB link cable to connect my printer to my computer but I don't want to ride the 2 every time I want to print.

(Also something to note, since I'm on WiFi from the University, I don't have access to the router of course so I don't know if this is a contributing factor in why things do not work).

If anyone has suggestions/advice/answers on the issue, please let me know. Thank you!

    Hello @Plz_Help.

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand that you have a problem connecting to your computer and your printer via Wifi from the University. I would like to help.

The only thing that really POPs, is that you use the network of universities. This can cause a lot of problems.

Question: When you connect your computer or Note 4 on the network, should a pop-up saying you accept the terms of service? If so, this would prevent an air of challenge the printer properly connected to the network.

If you had access to the router I would recommend checking the network connection by typing the printers IP address in a web browser. If you can access the printers webserver shipped, then, the connection is fine. If you can't you need to reset the router. Of course, you can do this.

Also, here's something to consider: If the printer successfully on the network, everyone else on the network will have access to your printer.

A USB connection will be the most reliable and safe way to go. Another thing, why send your rating 4 print jobs? Why not save the PDF files and connect the computer to the wireless network direct printers? In this way, you can print from your computer.

Sorry I can't give you a solution ' to do this and it will work. You must convince the universities IT department to get things related.

  • Intermittent problems of wireless connection in Windows 7 Ultimate

I recently bought Dell Studio XPS 1645 Windows 7 Ultimate edition. I am facing a frustrating problem with Wi - Fi. The connection is down and reconnect. I have the adapter Intel Wireless 5300 AGN and a router Dlink Wireless G I tried to update the latest drivers from Intel (Driver Version: 13.0.0.107), disabling IPv6 for all network interfaces, configuration of the wireless adapter to only use IPv4 and so on. I have 2 other systems with XP Professional on my home network. As soon as I start my Windows 7 laptop, the chaos begins. The router restarts every few seconds, other disconnected systems and so on. I have not found so far any solution on the internet that could solve this problem.

Other observations that may help to understand my problem:

    1. once my wireless adapter disconnects, the ping my router fails. It tells me whenever my system is asking for a new IP address.

2 Event Viewer displays multiple entries, which indicates that the DHCP could not get an address. The error looks like as follows:

The lease of the IP address 192.168.0.100 to the network with the network 0x00216A934EE2 address card has been refused by the 192.168.0.1 DHCP server (the DHCP server sent a DHCPNACK message).

It gets an IP address later, but I do not understand why my adapter tries several times to get a new address every few seconds.
DHCPNACK is the negative acknowledgement which router returns Win 7 DHCP client. I believe is that the client requests an address that is not available. Why would be client DHCP running on Windows 7 this?

    3. I have a D-Link WBR-1310 wireless router G with the latest firmware. Web sites of the reports that it is compatible with 32 and 64-bit Windows 7.

    4. I see no problems with the wired connection.

As I type this, which could take a few minutes, my wireless connection rolled 7-10 times. All ideas, experts?

If you need more information, let me know.

I was able to find the main cause of intermittent disconnections on wireless interface. According to the information I have collected on internet forums and my research, I did as a result of configuration changes that have stabilized the connection. These settings work when you have N wireless adapter and a B/G Router:

    The wireless adapter settings:

The driver for the most recent driver update.
Access the properties of your adapter wireless network and sharing Center.
Click on "Configure" and select the "Advanced" tab Make sure the following is in place:

1 channel 802.11n for bands of 2.4 and 5.2 width are set to 'Auto '.
    2 disable 802.11n Mode
    3. Ad Hoc channel 802. 11b / g should be 1 or even that you have configured on your router.
    4. Ad hoc QoS Mode, keep WMM disabled - disable the router too. My wireless connection is stable once I made this change.
5 fat Channel intolerant - disabled
    6. mixed mode protection - RTS/CTS enabled
7 roaming aggressiveness - the lowest
    8 flow Enhancement - active
9 transmitting the power - low
    10 mode wireless - 802.11 g

Uncheck the box "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" on the tab "power management."

    Other Configurations:

    1. disable IPv6 completely. Uncheck 'Internet Protocol IPv6' in the wireless connection properties window. Repeat this for every other network connection you have.
    2. make sure you have the latest firmware installed on your wireless router.
3 CTS Mode should be disabled in the configuration of your router 'Advanced Wireless' auto and WMM function.
    4. use only the WEP or WPA Wireless Security. Other methods have problems with 802.11n adapters.
    5. do not disable broadcasting of the SSID of your router. You don't need when your network is secure.

    I hope this helps.

  • Problem with wireless connection with HP 3070 B611

I have a router with the IP address 192.168.0.1 and printer HP 3070 B611, whose 192.168.223.1 IP address, so the wireless connection with the printer fails.

How to change IP address of the printer in the 192.168.0.XXX range?

It seems that you are on a network other than your router. Reset your network settings on your DEFAULT PRINTER. Connect the printer to the router again, make sure it is the same network name.

You can also unplug your router for 15 seconds and plug back in and then try to re - connect the printer to the router again.
