After 10.11.2 update lost support Blu - Ray

My Samsung SE-506AB suddenly will rise not anything after that put 10.11.2 up-to-date.  Questioning of Samsung in a different place, no need to tell me that.  Does anyone have any information on the side of El Capitan on the ability of Blu - Ray?

I know, I know-optical disks are dead, why not just present, etc..  If you have this kind of response, please don't bother.

10.11.2 ever supported Blu Ray

  • Media Center - support Blu - ray?

After getting a new media center PC with a disc blu - ray nice integrated, I am appalled by the lack of support media center or other software third party has to blu - ray on a PC.

Power DVD supplied with the blu - ray player is shockingly bad and unfit for use. Place a disc in the player leaves the center of media and load Power DVD. And from there I can't do anything, the MCE Remote control cannot control Power DVD. After fiddling around with the keyboard and mouse, sometimes I can get a movie to play, and sometimes I can't.

I downloaded demo of the Arcsoft TMT, and on the surface, the integration of MCE seemed promising. However, the first use that you realize that does almost the same thing as Power DVD, only he launches an application that "looks like" MCE. At least he recognizes the MCE Remote control.

There are still problems with Arcsoft TMT. I can watch half a movie, go to bed without even removing the disc from the drive, try to resume the movie in the morning and be informed that it is impossible to read the disc (or any other blu - ray disc). Not until I reboot the PC I can play another blu - ray.

With the bugs described above, I am not willing to pay $ 100 for a software that does not work and costs more than the drive itself. Power DVD is not much better either, you can buy the premium edition, but still no media center support.

When Microsoft will support blu - ray in media center? I realize they have supported HD DVD, but this format is dead now (you can't buy movies on this format) they should think of this support. So much for the "ultimate" editions, it seems that their biggest problem is that they do not want to give Sony royalties. So why not release a plugin $15 which provides this support?

Looks like it will be cheaper and more reliable to buy a separate blu - ray player, so for media center.

Does anyone know of a properly integrated MCE plugin that doesn't cost the Earth?

    Hello

    Same problem here.

The cheapest solution (= zero $) is this freeware standalone player:

At my L775-119 for a few weeks, and it's going great, really happy, but I'm just request if possible, ray some time in the future to upgrade the DVD RW for a Blu re-writer drive?

    Hello

I m not Satellite L775 owner but I think that it should be possible, as some L770/L775 models are delivered with the drive blu - ray in General, it seems that the laptop supports these discs.

But you can get an exact answer to an authorized service provider. Guys can control a compatible player for you and install it if you are not familiar with laptop part exchange.

Do you know how to contact an authorized service provider?

I know that I could add a USB key, but that leaves another device to clutter the desktop, but also a much slower interface.

  • Windows Media Center will not be updated to allow the Blu Ray

    Hello

I have an Acer laptop that supports Blu Ray disc, but when I go to play with Windows Media Center there is a pop up that says that "an essential element must be updated", but whenever I click "update", it tells me that my internet connection is not working it may not update. I checked and there is nothing wrong with my internet connection and library still refuses to update. Is there a way to force it to update? Or another program that will support the Blu Ray?
    Thank you
    Kerryn
There is no native support in Windows for the Blu - Ray, including Media Center. You
need a third-party Blu Ray player. What Blue Ray software supplied with your
computer? It works as a standalone program?

    Hello

    ·         What is the update message that you receive?

    ·         Do you have an error message when you try to read the Blu - ray Disc?

    ·         This problem occurs only with Blu ray discs or any of the others?

To play a Blu - ray disc, you must use a non-Microsoft program that supports Blu - ray playback and a device that can play Blu - ray discs.

My Toshiba Tempro is telling me that I have an update for the blu ray disc drive, so I opened it and it said s a package of 32-bit but my Windows 7 is 64-bit, so I'm confused.

Should I download and install? Or I'll just ignore it? I m using Toshiba Satellite C850-B124.
Hope that the guys answer my question

According to specification for laptop, your laptop is not Blu Ray optical disc player. It has the DVD Super Multi drive (Double Layer). You can ignore this message.

Im a developer of Windows applications

    Hello

By looking at the description for the optical drive on the tab specifications of the link you posted, it is listed as "Slim tray SuperMulti DVD Burner" which is not able to read Blu ray.

If you check this, you can visualize all the multimedia capabilities of your optical drive using the free app at the following link.

  • HP Pavilion m6 Blu Ray support

    Hello

My friend has an old Pavilion Dv7 2012 (I don't know the exact model) and he took part in selling the parts (he upgraded). He plans to give me the blu ray drive and the ram so I can upgrade my laptop. I have a HP Pavilion 1035dx m6 and I was wondering if it would support blu ray and the optical drive from dv7 my friend will fit in my m6.

    Thanks in advance!

    -Reilly

    Here is your Service Manual:

    Repair manual M6

    See page 53.

Your laptop takes an optical drive to 12.7 mm and the DV7 also takes a 12.7 mm drive. You may have to swap face plates and support at the rear of the car, but it will work.

If it's 'the Answer' please click on 'Accept as Solution' to help others find it.

  • Internal blu - ray writers no longer works on OS 10.11.6

I have an old MacPro with two writers of blu - ray inside. Everything worked great until I upgraded to OS X 10.11.6. Both drives can no longer read or write on discs; they turn and after a while to eject it. In writing programs is ejected a fresh white and prompted a blank diskette. In the configuration of operating system profile system both drives appear correctly.

I tried to go back to 10.11.5 nothing helped, so I re-updated to 10.11.6, but the problem persists. It seems to be somewhere in the OS, but I can't identify it. Any suggestions?

Where did you purchase blu - ray writers? Me if I'm wrong but I don't think all Mac Pro supports blu - ray writing with the standard Apple hardware. Probably, you should contact the manufacturer of the third-party hardware you have.

  • Satellite P855 - 33 X - Pascal spent the first menu disc drive Blu - Ray

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite P855 - 33 X. Whenever I try to play a disc Blu - ray (2d or 3d) on the Toshiba Blu - ray disc player, I never spent the first menu (main menu according to disk or the language selection). I'm unable to click on the menu or use the keyboard to select the options in the menu, the bluray is unresponsive.

It has worked well in the past so I wonder if there was a recent update that could have made this a problem?

I have Windows 8, recently updated to 8.1.
    Thanks for your help.

    > I have Windows 8, recently updated to 8.1.
I m wondering if you have updated the Toshiba Blu - ray disc drive after the update of the Win Win 8.1 8?

You will find on the page of the Toshiba UE driver all tools Toshiba drivers and utilities to win 8.1.
Usually after the Win 8.1 update, the software should be updated as well.

  • Qosmio G50-129 - can I have it with Blu - ray?

I was looking for a laptop for a few weeks now and I fell on the Toshiba Qosmio G50-129. I had already seen the X 300 range, which had the quad processor, I prefer, but I did not like the colors of this laptop "boy racer".

I thought that the G50 was a reasonable compromise - the high-end core 2 duo processor 800 GB of disk space and lots of features. Only two issues I have with this machine is the 32-bit version of Vista (why don't they provide 64-bit - I'll never understand this) and the lack of Blu - ray.

Now, I'm not a fanatic of DVD or something else that I appreciate that the Blu - ray is the format that is there to stay. To this end, I have a small collection of DVD Blu - ray that I can play on my PS3 and my DVD Blu - ray player hooked up to my surround sound system.

Can someone please explain to me why Toshiba produced this stunning notebook G50 - 129, but for A £1 499 it does not include a Blu - ray player? Are they crazy? I don't like that they have lost the race format by backing the wrong horse, I expect to get the Blu - ray on A £1. 5K laptop!

Unfortunately, Toshiba you lost my business as a result of this omission. Too bad you didn't just accept that Blu - ray is here to stay and accept him as most of the other manufacturers.

    Hello

As you know different notebooks from different manufacturers have different material combination.
Is that Qosmio G50 doesn't support Blu - Ray player, but this machine has other benefits.

It was equipped with the Toshiba Quad Core HD processor, that can turn ordinary DVDs in HD quality.
So you can play DVDs using the internal player and you will get an almost the same quality as a Bluray drive.
In this case you don't need to buy a new BluRay drive, but you can watch the DVD movies in HD quality!

However, I searched here in the forum for similar and found issues these topics:

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=139719

It might be interesting for you.

Finally, I must say that I would not buy a laptop just because of the Blu - Ray player.
For me it s more interesting a CPU, graphics card, RAM, because these are the parts that are needed for games, multimedia, etc.
Of course, the blue ray player would be a nice extra but I have a PS3 too and it was already fitted blue ray player

If this player is not really necessary for me

    Welcome them

    Hello

To play a Blu - ray disc, you must use a non-Microsoft program that supports Blu - ray playback and a device that can play Blu - ray discs. You can search online by using your favorite search engine to get it.
