  You can add games by following the steps mentioned below:
  1. with the CD Windows XP in the CD drive, click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. double-click on add or remove programs.
  3. click on Add/Remove Windows components.
  4. in the Windows Components Wizard, click Accessories and utilities (the words, not the box), and then click details.
  Use the appropriate method.
  5. If the Games check box is not checked (no games are installed), and you want to install all of the games, click to select the Games check box
  Click OK, and then click Next.

  I have a Vista Home Premium on an HP laptop. Earlier this week free cell began acting strange, now I can not find my games in the Games folder. I looked at the other issue and followed the advice to ensure that the games have been checked (they are). I restored to a point when I knew that Free Cell worked properly for me (used a restore 4 days ago point: a system checkpoint).  Also did a full restore of the computer about (because of driver problem with the touchpad) 8 days ago. I don't have a copy of vista, as the hp computer asks me to do the restore DVD.

  On my other computer (built) that uses vista the same thing happened, a few days ago. I followed the advice on the forums. This time I unchecked the box features Windows, restarted, recheck the boxes and loaded the game from the disc, rebooted again, and they did not always show up.

  I am running AV on the two computer (KASPERSKY), the laptop has no other third party programs other than the full restore hp programs, I have not loaded in the files (images, music, office files). The Office has a few games (lotro/ddo) and some third party programs (ccleaner, firefox, ventrio and Skype). All the software on both computers are updated, and Vista is updated to SP2.
   
  I'm at a lost on what to do next.

  Am really sorry to hear that the built-in games do not work.
  Please, try the following steps:
  1. click on the Start button
  2. on the Start Menu, click all programs followed by accessories
  3. in the menu accessories, right-click on command line option
  4. in the drop-down menu that appears, click the "Run as Administrator" option.
  5. in the command prompt window, type: sfc/scannow then press enter
   
  Once its finished, restart the computer and check with the games, also try to reinstall them using programs and features and check what is happening.

  Did you the latest changes on the system?

  I suggest that you turn off the games feature in windows vista and re activate and check if it works.

  a. click the Start button, select Control Panel, click programs and then click turn on turn Windows features on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  b. to turn a Windows feature, select the check box next to the set. To turn a Windows feature off, clear the check box.

  c. click OK.

  First you can disable the function of games using the method above restart the computer and turn on the games feature and check if it works.

  Just update you 13 windows 7 items... I sat until midnight and found the program data and ended up finding the catalog. I deleted the catalog now. and uninstalled items 13. I hope that when I reinstall it will be like new, and I can go back again. I had messed up I saw when viewing the photos in the media, it was media files and thought they shouldn't be there so I deleted them. Maybe thinking about now I get an error. Before, I made a slideshow with the media from the drive. I just started using elements 13 I used windows live previously for videos. Can you let me know also what photoshop elements or first, you use the most.  Also if I import video files in why do I see them I think of thumbnails. That's where I went wrong and thinking, they shouldn't be here. I brought a few books and trying to go through the learning process. What camera do you use?  Many questions sorry.   In most cases if the games are deleted from the computer files will remain on the computer.

  I suggest that you are looking for game files in the system32 folder.

  Later, click on Start menu click on run and type c:\\windows\system32 in the following search of the window for the file of games like free cell. If you get the files in the system32 folder then copy the file to c:\\program files\start menu\ later in the game folder.

  STEP 3:
  If fails it above steps, try a system restore to the point when the game was available on the computer.

  There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

  Contact the manufacturer of your laptop and ask them to send a set of recovery disks.

  They should do this for a small fee.

  If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

  These themes take up a space infintesimal amount.  When new computers are shipped with 500 GB to 2 TB hard drives today, it's a waste of time and a risk of causing problems to fuss with these things.  20 years ago, we had to worry about these things, but that time is long gone.  Do you realize that 1 TB is 1,000,000,000,000 bytes?  If you had 1 billion dolloars and divided into piles of dollar, pious million how do you you?  You would have 1 million piles each with 1 million dollars in it.  So why worry a few megabytes?
