After deleting an email in my 'box', it is then downloaded again! How can I stop this repetition?

After the deletion of individual e-mails I need is no longer, I find that they soon reappear in the "Inbox" as new emails. This happened for several weeks now. What is causing this repetition occur and how can I avoid this happening?

probably "leave message on server" setting
Check your account server settings.
