  If you still encounter this problem, please try the following troubleshooting steps.

  Solution 1: Sign out of Lightroom 5.5 and then connect back with your Adobe ID

  Solution 2:

  Set the permission to the folder SLStore & SLCache:

  NOTE: Do this twice, once each for the SLCache and SLStore files.

  Mac:

  • Use the Finder to navigate to/Library/Application Support / Adobe / SLStore or/Library/Application Support / Adobe / SLStore.
  • Control-click on the folder and choose read information.
  • Expand the section sharing & permissions.
  • Click on the padlock icon in the lower corner on the right. Enter your administrator user name and password when you are prompted, and then click OK.
  • Set permissions:

  System: read/write

  Admin: read/write

  Everyone: read/write

  • Click the gear icon and select apply to closed. Close the dialog box for information.

  C:\Users\YOUR WINDOWS USER \AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common and delete all the files inside:

  then change to a new location of your cache files in the PREFERENCES / MEDIA

  Please open the monitory of activity by going to Applications > utilities on your Mac. You can search any processes with the name of SAFARI COULD HISTO and close it. More detailed instructions can be found here: error with Adobe products: close the following applications.

  Also, make sure you reinstall your CS5.5 disc or direct download. If you use Time Machine or similar backup to restore your programs on your computer reformatted, you may encounter issues. Adobe programs do not correctly migrate due to hidden files permissions.

• After Windows Update on 13/10/11 all reboots Windows is extremely slow and hard drive is on continuously.

  I ran the Windows, distributed update to my PC 10/13/11.  After restarting the computer is so slow as to be unusable.  I am able to get the Windows Task Manager to run, and it sees a minimum CPU (0-10%).  The hard drive light is on continuously.  The computer seems to be tied up access the hard disk.  The machine restarts do not help.  When you try to use Windows Explorer to view what is on the hard drive of each operation takes several minutes to complete.  I tried to launch the system restore to restore to before the update, but it shows a blank white screen.  Often trying to do something with the Windows Explorer I see in the title bar of Windows Explorer (not responding).

  How can I get the machine into a usable state?

  It's a shame that we know absolutely nothing about your system, but it's because the forums MS Answers does not prompt for any information system when a new question is asked.

  Title pretty much everything said. I worked on a few corrections in an ongoing project after the recent update and images seemed to be returned to its original sharpness. After noodling a bit, I noticed that it is because the threshold slider now don't goes from 0 to 1, basically making it a bypass switch (I got my 2 enabled effect). I've always loved that you could control the degree of color a little noise with the threshold slider and it's a little frustrating that it is no longer an option. Does anyone know if it's a mistake or a voluntary choice by Adobe? Can we say if the Lumetri sharpen slider is a better tool for use even in light of this change?

  I think it's a bug. IMO, it should read 0-255.
