    Hello

Yesterday, I upgraded my pc from 2007 to 2010 from microsoft, I had no idea that outlook express is no longer taken in charge & a so don't had not saved anything express before the upgrade.

I used two Outlook + outlook express to run 2 separate email accounts.  How Outlook works well and moved all my old mails/contacts.  Express however is not found, I can't open it.

I have installation the other account on the new perspectives, he transferred the emails from the last 30 days, which lie on the mail server, but nothing beyond that, plus all of my files are missing & what is the most important!

Please help me, I got hundreds of emails that are very important to me and I am in despair that they have all been lost.

    Thank you, Emma

If you use Windows XP (which I assume you're OE does not work on any latest system) then by installing Office does NOT remove Outlook Express.

He can't because Outlook Express is part of Internet Explorer, which is part of Windows.

I think that Outlook has replced just the icon of EO for mail.

    Do a search for msimn.exe

You should find it in c:\program files\outlook express.

Then you can add back a shortcut on your desktop.

I had to reformat my computer and lost all my window 8 games.  The store has more than some of them.  Is it possible to find?

    Hello

Your Store account is independent of any installation of Windows 8. If you have downloaded or bought all the apps store, this information is saved in the store.

To reinstall your applications after reinstalling.

    1. open the store and make sure that you are connected with your Store account (press the Windows key + I, then select your account).

2 on the main screen, right click and select your applications on the top toolbar.

3 in the drop-down Menus, select applications and the sort by name.

4 in the results, click each application that you want to reinstall , and then click the icon to install the toolbar at the bottom.

Note: If you have a very large number of applications to reinstall, select a few at a time to reinstall.

    Solutions

In addition to checking the sound levels on the mixer and volume controls, carried out steps on the Adobe solution list:

    1. Make sure that the latest version of Flash Player is installed
    2. Disable ActiveX filtering (if you use Internet Explorer 9)
    3. Enable Flash Player Add ons (if you use Internet Explorer)
    4. Make sure you have the latest version of Flash Player (if you use Chrome)
    5. Delete all Flash Player data mining
    6. Remove the Flash Player cache
    7. Disable hardware acceleration of Flash Player

    Thank you.

Flash Player has not directly render all audio on your system unusable.  It can not.

If you have not yet restarted, I would start there.

After the restart, if the problem persists, start by confirming this wiring to your speakers/headphones is correct, then move the settings of volume of windows, then Control Panel > sounds to make sure its good to output is used, then all Control Panel audio exclusive on the system.

If this does not work, I would go to the control panel > add/remove hardware and uninstall the audio card, reboot and let windows re - discover it.

If you're still stuck, I would call your computer manufacturer or the manufacturer of the sound card and go from there.

My laptop (i5, running Win 7) is my workhorse computer that had all my favorite settings stored. I added a new office (AMD, Win 8.1) that will be used as a multimedia entertainment unit, but when I connected the cable to install FireFox it replaced all the settings in my laptop with the new computer. How can I keep the different settings on each computer? Must have 2 different accounts to be able to do this? I have now lost the web address for some of my sites, so it's quite painful. What was the exact problem when you say, 'my computer did not work well?

It is very unfortunate that you have lost all your personal files.

  • lost email from Outlook express

I write in the name of the customer.

Here is the original client message.

"I have prepared this in word & pasted here for it to be faster." I have windows XP & outlook illicitedes'm having problems with outlook express. I lost d ' assign e-mails from 2007 to 2 September 2011.  I know that I do not remove them. The problems I encounter are manifold.  When I send a mail, I get an error & instead of going into my box sent out to in my Outbox. Here, I must send again & that move to another box (Inbox) out of the shipping box or it will keep returning the message out. I can't move it to the sent box it will not allow him. now, I have another problem. After all this my mail is not going out at all now. I can receive but not answer. My biggest concern is return all these emails who disappeared on 2 September 2011 in the morning. they are important as long as it had to do with the legal procedures. There are approximately 1 500 e-mails all the way from June 2007 to September 2, 2011. If you go to the bottom of the list of my emails, you will see that I received emails from September 2, 2011 after what happened and then the one that precedes it is June 2007. I hope you can help me because I need these emails in return.

You too have reached the limits of the OE dbx files.

Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :
    http://www.insideoe.com/FAQs/why.htm#compact

    Why mail disappears:
    http://www.insideoe.com/problems/bugs.htm#mailgone

    Recovery methods:

If you use XP/SP2 or SP3, and are fully patched, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

DBXpress run in extract disc Mode is the best chance to recover messages:
    http://www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/default.aspx

    And see:

    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4

A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:
    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

    And backup often.

I closed my outlook express browser window, then reopened and my emails have all gone replaced by I have new message welcoming me to outlook express (as if I was a new user).  enamel is held from optusnet account and my emails are gone from here.  I tried to search for them by seraching for pst files (email) on computer, but with no luck, someone problems like this before, or know how I can get these emails.  zTo me prob there always there on the computer but I don't know how to access

    Soon all the world

I use outlook express.  I have seen u once a file via outlook express you can see it is no longer in optus webmail,.

There is an option to leave messages on the server, but we're going to handle this later.

In this new instance of OE, click: file | Identities | Manage identities. Is listed on the other? If so, after back now. If this is not the case, continue on.

    Do this first:

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

Now that these files are visible, do a search for *.dbx

If you find a folder named Outlook Express, open and see if it contains your missing files/messages.

Post back with your results before you continue.

  • Lost folders in outlook express

I use ouutlook express 6 as my primary e-mail use and have encountered a problem. from the beginning until today that I lost the sub folders in my Inbox. I do not have to delete or move, and the only thing that comes to mind is that when I received an e-mail from someone who asks a receipt that it somehow has creatted my problem. However, the reception was for a known consignee and so I don't think it was doubtful. in any case I'm not wise on computers so that has baffled me and don't know where to look. I searched my computer with keywords (file names), but that was unsuccessful. only other thing to mention is that I ran ashampoo winoptimizer 2007, but can't see how this would create the problem.

The message store folder is the Outlook Express folder that you did drag the dbx files. My first reply gave you this place.

Part of the process, is that they have to be out before the newly created folder will recognize them.

Create a folder in the folder tree OE with the same name as one of your files. For example: you have a Mail.dbx file. Create a folder in the OE and the name of this Mail.

Open this repetoire and then close OE. You must complete this part.

Now, go back to Windows Explorer. Expand the path to the Outlook Express folder, but do not open it.

Click on the desktop at the top of the folder hierarchy. In the right pane, you will see all your desktop icons and dbx files.

Drag the Mail.dbx file to the Outlook Express folder. When it becomes blue, let it go and you should see the prompt to overwrite it. Click Yes.

Make lather, rinse, repeat for other folders. Bruce Hagen MS - MVP [Mail]

Restoring to factory settings formats the disc, and which erases
everything what he. You probably get something new, but you can
try to do a search on the web for a recovery program that unformats the reader
    like here: http://www.easeus.com/resource/unformat.htm

If you unformat the drive successfully and can recover lost files
back, the first thing you should do copy on an external
(CD, DVD, USB sticks, external hard drives, etc.).
    Two other points/questions:

    1. why restore you to the factory settings? This is usually the worst
approach to solve a problem, there's a lot of extra long hard
work and often leads to problems of its own (as it did here).

    2. I assume you have no backup on external media from your
photos of important files etc. In this case. you played with
the fire. You can read this article on the backup that I wrote:
