After splitting milk top keyboard problems

I hope someone can help.

I have a M30, and weeks I poured milk on the keyboard. Everything was fine and then recently I started having problems when the screen started to scroll continuously until you press ESC.

Now both times the keys H and N cause the cursor to fall at the end of the page. I've done some countless virus and controls ad aware and even connected an external keyboard and the problem still remains. I also uninstalled the keyboard, mouse and touchpad.

Any ideas/suggestions?
See you soon

Hello

My only suggestion is to contact the Service of your country partner. obviously something is damaged and stops working properly.

  • Portege R830 - Trackpad/keyboard problem

HI - hope someone can help because I have only a few strands of hair left out!

In the last two weeks, a problem has developed with the trackpad - and maybe my keyboard. Here are some of the symptoms

    1. the cursor on the screen suddenly freezes. If I leave the laptop and work back, and it's not.

    2. If I tap on the keyboard (can simply press the keys or I could be typing in a document) and the cursor may freeze again. During this event the little 'mouse/trackpad' power icon flashes briefly on the screen. If I hit another key (literally anywhere on the keyboard) a number of times (not the model number) the icon can cycle and the slider moves and then freeze again.

It's as if each key on the keyboard is somehow the role of the FnF9 key.

Unfortunately I took the laptop on a business trip recently and this time after initialization the laptop - the cursor was frozen and no amount of pressure button thoughtful or random didn't get going. It is a working battery. That scared the hell out of me.

If I plug in a USB keyboard and mouse and then pressing the keys on this keyboard does not cause the cursor to freeze. But he can do anyway - as described in 1. above.

The F9 key will unlock the cursor (I guess re - turn on the trackpad) - but it won't be long before cycle back again.

I did not drop the phone. There is nothing physically wrong with her. The battery holds its charge and it starts successfully. I did no change of material during the month.

The only button on the keyboard that is not working is the mouse/trackpad power button just above the space bar. It feels a bit depressed - but I think that is how it has always been. Juggle it makes no difference to this bizarre and erratic behavior. But perhaps this is relevant.

    When I tried.

    Reinstall the trackpad driver (Synaptics).

    Reinstall the PVAT (value package).

I even tried to re-imaging of HARD drive to one of these days - and the other just after that I bought the laptop in 2012. Which should have solved if it was a software/driver problem - but it didn't.

One thing I did not, is venturing into the BIOS. Maybe there is something in them?

In Device Manager that everything is listed - no warning at all. There seems to be be no IRQ conflict.

This could be a hardware problem? I read that the keyboards on R830 are quite likely to damage/stoppage of work. A the United Kingdom popular auction site has sellers who claim to have sold more than 40! That's a lot of R830s who have had new keyboards.

I also know that a replacement is a pain, so I hope that's not it.

Someone at - it suggestions? It makes me crazy.

I google extensively and can't come up with anything either. There are the usual raft of people trying to find how to activate the trackpad or disable - but none seem to be struggling with the laptop made for them.

    Help!

    Hello

According to the description of your problem, it seems that the touchpad is disabled automatically.
As you have already mentioned, the touchpad can be enabled and disabled by using the FN + F9 key combination function

Since you have also some keyboard problems, my theory is that there is a problem of keyboard that may be responsible for the touchpad ON / OFF question.

What do you think of this theory?

I put t think there is a software problem because as you already reset the system to the point in time at the beginning (factory settings?). This is why I think that the conflict of software cannot be the reason for this.

  • C50-A283 satellite keyboard problem

I have a keyboard problem. [Sorry for my bad English.
My C50-A283 satellite keyboard does not work properly. It will automatically start and back. Some keys don't work not that is 'L', 'I' button does not work. Even using "on the keyboard of the screen" or external keyboard, the result is the same.
    Thank you.
my laptop has active windows 8 OS

    Hi noor21

If you have similar issues using internal and external keyboard, then I recommend you to run a recovery process that would fix the laptop back to factory settings.

After this check, if your BIOS is up to date.

If the keyboard problem will always appear even if you define the laptop back to factory settings, you must contact the maintainer authorized Toshiba because the keyboard failure may be related to hardware problems.

    Hello

    1. What is the number of brand and model of your laptop?
    2. have you contacted the manufacturer of your laptop?

    Follow the steps mentioned below.
    Method 1:

    Step 1:

Test the keyboard in safe mode and check if the problem persists in safe mode.

    Step 2:

If it works in safe mode, perform the clean boot and check. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note When you perform a clean boot, you may temporarily lose some functionality. When you start the computer as usual, the function returns. However, you may receive the error message, or you can experience the original behavior.

Note : follow step 7 to your computer as usual, after the test.

    Method 2:
    a. check if on-screen keyboard funvtions normally.
    b. If possible, try to connect an external keyboard and check if the problem persists.

If the problem does not persist if could be a hardware problem and suggest you contact the manufacturer of the laptop.

  • Keyboard problems - Windows 7 RTM on Thinkpad x 301

    Greetings,

The fighting had thereby a few days and haven't seen all the other notes on this subject.

I installed Win 7 (business) RTM about 3 times - both 32 - and 64-bit and is the version gives me a problem with keyboarding. Basically, if I type REALLY SLOW, all right. But whenever I go back to normal typing speed, I'm getting erratic behavior. Sometimes while I'm typing, the cursor will jump to a place earlier in the same line and insert new text from there, or sometimes it jumps to the line next, or worse yet, I use it via Remote Desktop on my primary computer running Outlook, it will send the message in the middle of a sentence. (A bit annoying...!)

It's as if I'm hitting certain types of combination, but I was not able to get fairly constant to understand. It could also perhaps be a sort of full buffer problem after - x-strikes. So here's a question - if you have no job, can you confirm that beta Lenovo drivers you have installed?

I tried a little, and later a clean 64-bit settling without adding anything else yet.

Other keyboard problem and some missing OSD indicators, I like the performance and ease of use. But if I can't get the keyboard works, I'm back to XP...

(Note that I test - I reinstalled XP preload, and kbd was fine - is not material)

    Thanks for all the ideas...

At this point, I REINSTALL ALL the detached (yet pre-release at the time, in late September) did was install drivers and keyboard.  However, I need to agree with poster above - we need Lenovo to specify exactly what drivers are needed and any requirement of installation sequence.   Somehow, I think this is what makes the difference in my case, but I'm still just guess.

but so far, Win7 on my x 301 now works...

    Good luck to all-

  • USB keyboard problem

Hi everyone, first post here for me!

I have a behavior usb keyboards very weird wth. My laptop is an Intel Ivy Bridge with 4 usb ports, all the 3.0.

When I install VMWare Player, the system works very well, but just after the first restart, keyboard external usb (I have tried several of them) stops working. If I try to unplug the usb keyboard, the host system crashes and I have to force a reboot.

If I uninstall the reader that everything works well again.

I thought, maybe it's a problem with USB 3.0, so I bought an express card USB 2.0 controller, but the behavior is exactly the same.

I also tried it with the trial version of VMWare Workstation, but nothing has changed.

The problem is also with Windows 7 Pro x 64 and Windows 8 Pro x 64.

I don't really know what to do anymore!

Thanks for all the help you provide, I'm desperate!

It is not the ultimate solution, but it's the best solution I found to continue using VMWare Player and USB external keyboard.

The problem is due to VMkbd.sys with the driver located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers.

    To resolve this problem, open the Registry Editor and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4d36e96b-e325-11ce-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Change the UpperFiltersentry, then remove the filter vmkbd, leaving only the kbdclassfilter.

Restart your laptop and connect the USB keyboard.

So far I have not noticed no problems using VMWare Player, all keystrokes, such as Ctrl + Alt are working properly.

If the Player from VMWare is upgraded and continue with the same problem, just repeat the procedure.

For reference, here is the link where I found the solution http://blog.eddsn.com/2012/08/keyboard-and-mouse-not-working-in-windows/

  • Satellite Pro C50 keyboard problems - A - 1 L 6

    Hello

I just bought this new Satellite Pro.

I have installed all the drivers and updated the bios to the latest version, but I still have the same problem: when I write, many times my keyboard writes double letters (for example, all ten words written keyboard a letter double, as "keybboard").

I tried also to change the properties of the keypad on the control panel of Windows 8, but nothing has changed.

I called support, but they just told me that I have to bring my laptop in a helpdesk: but I need my new computer to work, and I wouldn't be happy to lose at least 4 weeks!

And, support told me that, if the laptop has no hardware problem, I would have to pay for assistance...
    .
So, this is my first experience and unlucy in the world of Toshiba...
Is there someone who can give me some advice to solve this problem?
It may be a problem running on the new laptops, and someone knows how to fix this?

    Thank you very much!

    Hi guys,.

As far as I know that these similar keyboard problems in the past could be resolved by the BIOS updated.
I found the new BIOS for Satellite Pro C50 - A
    http://Support1.toshiba-tro.de/Tedd-files2/0/BIOS-20140912105436.zip
    Worth a try

Another question: If someone has done to test a USB external keyboard?
In the case where the external USB keyboard would work correctly, this issue isn't associated with BIOS or keyboard controller but probably his keyboard fault internal.

  • Portege M600: keyboard problem

    Hello

My M600 just got a little problem (I hope) today.

The 'x 'key' doesn't quite work. I have to press very hard to show the letter 'x '. It seems that the upper-left hand corner of this key is stuck, so he bends to the bottom right when I press on it. How can I solve this problem?

I am located in Glasgow (G4 0JQ) and do not know if there are any office of maintenance here, but just know the nationalwide Service Pick-Up & return for laptops Web site. However, I prefer to deal face to face with the engineer in a few minutes, because I guess this isn't a big deal, isn't it?

    Thank you very much
    Ting

    Hi Ting

What to say? You know that the best solution is ASP and finally change the keyboard. I really don't think you can fix it alone.

I recommend you check out http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads > find an ASP. You will see where is the nearest ASP. Make a call and see what they say on keyboard problem.

    Hello

It's very strange can you check if this keyboard problem happening using an external USB keyboard?

If the USB keyboard works, your problem is related to the fault of the internal keyboard. In this case it must be replaced.

Try using another browser (Google Chrome / Firefox) for a test to see if the keyboard problem still occurs. If it is not then the issue could be a problem with Internet Explorer.  What version you have installed? (IE6/IE7 or IE8)

The same thing happens when you type in a document when you use Microsoft Word or Open Office?

    Sorry you have keyboard problems.

These are only two keys that don't work?

It is possible, there is a problem with the hardware with the keyboard and the keyboard needs to be replaced.
