After that the latest updated Windows updated my audio playback jumps (video or audio)

Since the last update of Windows has been installed any audio file jumps. The problem occurs with videos, as well as when I play music from a file or through Pandora.  Any ideas?

UPDATE: the problem occurs with all forms of audio files.  I tried to play clips of different stakeholders, Web sites (Pandora, YouTube, Yahoo news clips, etc.) and all with the same result.  The audio file or the music jumps every 30 seconds or so... any ideas on what I should try next?

Hello

I suggest you to check if the problem persists with Windows media player. If the problem occurs even with Windows media player, I suggest you try the steps from the following link:

If the problem is with a Pandora software, then I suggest you to contact Pandora support.

Sounds like something in the update causes a conflict with your video driver or change the resolution settings.

The first thing to do to solve the problem is to try to install each of the updates one at a time instead of let Windows Update do several updates together.  If you're lucky, the problem can not ride again.  If so, you'll know at least update is the cause of the problem.

If the problem persists, try right click on an empty area of your desktop and select properties to open the display properties dialog box.  Select the settings tab.  Look to see if the screen is correctly identified and if the resolution seems correct.  If you spot something wrong, change to the correct setting.  If everything looks correct, you can try to change the resolution to see if that can solve the problem.

You can also check the website of the manufacturer of your graphics card to see if they have an updated display driver.  Updates of the operating system only sometimes work correctly if you have the latest version of the drivers for the various components.

If all else fails, you can uninstall the update one that is causing the problem and mark do not show you this update again in Windows updates.   Doing so will be considered a last resort - especially if the update in question is one of the security updates.

Let us try these steps and check the status.

    Method 1.

Start the computer in safe mode with network and run a full scan of computer viruses.

Advanced startup options (including safe mode): http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

Run a full scan of the computer with the Microsoft Safety Scanner to make sure that the computer is virus-free.

    Microsoft safety scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Warning of Security Scanner: there could be a loss of data while performing an analysis using the Microsoft safety scanner to eliminate viruses as appropriate.

    Method 2.

Start the computer in a clean boot state, and check the status. A clean boot to test if any element of service or third party application startup is causing this issue.

Note: Once you have finished troubleshooting, follow step 3 in the article to start on normal startup.

    Method 3.

I suggest that you can exercise SFC scan and check if that helps. The SFC/SCANNOW command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

  • My computer is completely messed up after installing the latest updates from Microsoft. I need help/ideas to make it work again.

    Vista Business Service Pack 2
    32 bit
    2007-12-office
    Acrobat 9 Pro
    Adobe Design Standard CS4
    Sony Vaio

I installed the latest vista updates today.  Three "important"; an option.  The optional parameter was an update of bluetooth toshiba.  We were talking about "platforms" that made me uncomfortable so I went to Microsoft and after reading it, I decided - based on little understanding - it was probably necessary.
Shortly after, Acrobat 9 Pro wasn't working anymore. The computer asked me to restart after installing updates, but I have done a couple of things, including some e-mail.  During the attempt to send e-mail until I turned off the computer, Outlook flash he has been restarted and then the icon to install flash and then I could come back and type until the sequence started.

I turned off the computer and when I rebooted, it did not start.  I managed to get it started; I run scandisk; now, when it starts to get a series of errors from Adobe for various Adobe programs that I installed on the machine all seem related to the "Automatic Setup" (or boot, I don't remember exactly.  I tried to re - install Acrobat and I get an error message that the 'source' is not available, and to ensure that it is - despite me using the installation disc, so I guess that it refers to the 'source' in Vista.  Outlook does not start.  He told me to use scanpst.exe to analyze the .pst files, but they seem to have disappeared.  I have tried other products of office except Explorer who started without problem.

I can't use restore because it says that the disc is damaged and needs to be checked.

    Any ideas are appreciated.

Uninstall the update for bluetooth.  Never use Microsoft device driver updates.  To avoid this does not happen, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows: http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/.

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run.  It will scan and try to correct some of your system files.  If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228.

While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run.  It will scan and try to solve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a cause.  Who can release the OS to do a system restore or other recovery options.

Do you know when this problem started (probably with updates)?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.

If the system restore does not work, do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not work, try to start in safe mode (repeatedly hit F8 key so that the start and go in safe mode with networking).  Then we will check some of your system files:

If it does not, then thanks for posting any repetitive error message in Event Viewer on startup (Start / Control Panel / administrative tools / Event Viewer).  Here's how to use Event Viewer: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic40108.html.

If this does not work, you will need to do a repair/system upgrade using the Windows Vista Installation disc authentic (you own or that you can borrow from someone).  Here is the procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-vista.html as well as the upgrade from an earlier version of the Windows section of the following: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918884.  Although this will not affect your data, settings or programs, you should always back up your data before you start just be on the safe side. If other procedures do not work, it is almost certain to work.  You can have a lot of updates to re - install (including all you need to remove service packs).  If the version on system with SP1 or SP2 preinstalled cane and the disc is an earlier version, then you will need to do a slipstream drive as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/151606-vista-sp1-slipstream-installation-dvd.html.

I hope one of these procedures can solve your problem.  If this isn't the case, after return and we will try something else.  Return message anyway so we know how it turns out.

If none of these steps work, transfer your question in Forum Windows Update: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistawu/threads where the people who specialize in updating the questions will be more than happy to solve your problems.  Don't forget to tell them what updates you downloaded and installed, and what steps you have already done to try to solve the problem.

  • Tecra A11 - 11N - after that the BIOS update programs not loading now

My model is Tecra A11 - 11N. I ran the BIOS update and now some of my programs, including ITunes, Nokia Ovisuite, payer VLC etc. are not running. I tried to uninstall and reinstall them, but same problems.

In any case to come back before upgrade?

    Hi evangny,

I also Tecra A11 in front of me and have installed latest version of BIOS but this didn't affect all installed programs. BIOS and installed programs are different.
What you can do is load the default settings in the BIOS after the update.

Can you be a bit more detailed?
What exactly happens if you try to start these programs? You get an error message?

You use the version preinstalled Windows from Toshiba?

  • The computer hangs after installing the latest updates

I installed the latest windows updates.  Restarting my computer later, since hanging / freezing for half a second every 2-3 seconds.  I notice it more while trying to move the mouse or by watching a video (someone who speaks seems to stutter on about every 5th Word).  The computer clock has also been slowing.  He gets about 10-12 minutes behind before he catches upward.  When I look at the Task Manager, I do not take a lot of cpu.  Restarting the computer didn't help.  I've never had this problem before.  Any suggestions?

Often by rebooting the computer solves an immediate problem.

Take a look in the system and Application logs in the errors and warnings event viewer and post here the copies. Do not post on that more than 48 hours ago.

You can access event viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel, administrative tools, and Event Viewer. When searching for the meaning of the error, information about the event ID, Source and Description are important.

A tip for posting copies of error reports! Run Event Viewer and double-click the error you want to copy. You will see a button resembling two pages. Click on the button and close Event Viewer. This places a copy of the report to your Clipboard. Paste it into the body of your message. Make sure that it is the first dough right out of the event viewer.

    Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell

  • HP's envy with Intel Core i7 processor: new HP Envy with core i7 crashes when you sign after accepting the latest updates from HP.

My new HP Envy worked very well and the HP updates became available, so I accepted their. 85% of the way through the updates, I lost wifi capabilities and updates stopped. A message popped up that I needed to restart. I did it. It seemed he was installing the updates normally but then it just hung. I let it sit for probably an hour. I then had to force a reset to get out if the State suspended. When he returned to the top, he got to the login screen. After my password, it showed the circle of activity moving, but then after a minute or two, he went to a black screen with the exception of my mouse cursor. He never leaves this State except when I press CTRL-ALT-DELETE. If I select Sign Out, he is suspended in this State. If I click on the Task Manager, it goes back to a black screen and does nothing.

    Hello!

I think that the BIOS was not correctly because your computer laptop doesn't start up again.
In this case, you can make t a lot of.

Try this: remove the battery and the AC adapter, wait up to 1 hour and then connect the battery and AC adapter. Try it again and hope it works.

If this does not work, you should contact a local ASP. In the worst cases, the motherboard must be exchanged :(

  • I can't sync my iPhone 4S with my Macbook Pro more. It became a problem after installing the latest update.

A couple of weeks ago, I upgraded my iPhone version 9.2 and iTunes on my Macbook Pro version 11.4, and now I can't get my iPhone to sync with my Macbook Pro. Whenever I connect the two devices, I get an error message that says: "the 'IPhone of John' iPhone cannot be used because it requires a newer version of iTunes. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes. "

I tried a lot of things, starting with resets hard and finally erase all data and settings of my phone, but without success. I would use an iTunes backup, but he refuses to communicate with my iPhone.
