  After the el Capitan to 10.11.6, upgrade my internet connection has been blocked by my ISP because of a flood of packets to multicast from my side.

  I studied using the monitor activity and found that mDNSResponder creates the network traffic with more than 20 MB per minute, and I see also all the lights on my network switches will blink quickly. The problem disappears if I manually kill the process; then it automatically restarts and creates only a few KB per min.

  It is two machines, an iMac and a Powerbook from 2015. Nothing else was changed other than the upgrade.

  So obviously something is wrong.

  Please read this message before doing anything.

  This procedure is a diagnostic test. It is unlikely to solve your problem. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

  The test is intended to determine if the problem is caused by a third-party software that loads automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.

  Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

  Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

  Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

  The login screen is displayed even if you usually connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

  Test in safe mode. Same problem?

  After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of the test.

  I have had a problem upgrading to APEX of 4.1 to 4.2.1 using the full installation with all languages.
  
  I managed to fix it myself, but still I don't know why she failed the first time. This is why I post this message. In addition, to help others which falls on this problem.
  
  -I am trying to install the 4.2.1 on Oracle 11 g XE APEX.

  (1) I unzipped the file to C:\Oracle\apex_4.2.1\apex

  This happens in all the major browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome)
  
  Searching on the forum I found messages indicating there is a problem with IE 7, do I have to run this statement: "change user xdb unlock account;" But I tried with nothing doesn't. I continued to get the command prompt. When I clicked on cancel I couldn't see anything. When I used sqlplus xdb/xdb@xe it worked fine.
  
  Next thing I've tried manually removed the images directory. So I ran @apxldimg.sql (parameterless) and the images directory has been recreated, but it contained the old 4.1 files magically! When I went in the hot folder on the installation disk I could clearly see a folder images/apex_ui but it does not simply exist in the database after the execution of apxldimg.sql.
  
  Then I found something in the code of apxldimg.sql. Apparently, it creates a directory on the database to aid & images/apex/1... If the substitution variable '& 1' must have been the location of the files the and it must contain the full path!
  
  SQL > @apxldimg.sql C:\Oracle\apex_4.2.1
  
  
  After you run this files have been created successfully and I could finally connect.

  One question remains: Why can't find anything in the log on the loading of the images? And why it did not work via apexins.sql? He completely skipped this step, because no trace of it has been found anywhere in the Setup log. This could be a bug?

  The apexins.sql script does not take care to install/load the images. Install images has always been a separate step that is often neglected (it is a different process according to the HTTP server, we chose to use). http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E37097_01/doc/install.42/e35123/otn_install.htm#BHAJIGDA
  The majority of the 'white page' problems on the new facility holds the images not being loaded correctly.

  I use Desktop Manager to install/upgrade the java application, I am writing to you.  My application is configured to run automatically at startup function.

  1. when I just install my java application (which means that it is not on the device), it installs and works fine.

  2. when I update my application, the phone restarts, fails it application (IE not dΘmarre).  More clearly, if I go to the icon and click on it, nothing happens.

  3-if I delete the app, reboot the phone and install the application, it is very good (line with scenario 1 above).

  I narrowed down it to 1 line of code that makes the difference:

  PhoneLogs.getInstance () .addListener (myPhoneLogListener);

  If I don't register my app/process with the PhoneLog, upgrading the app has managed in all scenarios.  I guess that's because one of my 'myPhoneLogListener' objects is in the memory space of the PhoneLog at the time of the upgrade.  Also, my application is running at the time of the upgrade.  The application is still running in the background, intentionally.

  I would try an OTA update to see if it behaves differently, but I don't have any private location secure to host my app.

  How to make this upgrade work, without requiring the user to quit the application before the upgrade; given that I can't guarantee that users will do, and I don't have to have a bad experience with my application.

  I'm writing my own solution for others in the future.

  So before in my MAIN() method, I capture all the Exceptions and out in silence.  This was to avoid the dreaded AppError-200 during development.

  So I added a try/catch in my MAIN() to write all the Exceptions in the event on the device log, before to leave.  It turns out, I was getting a "ControlledAccessException.

  So, I decided to add a Thread.sleep (30000)-30 seconds before trying to run my problematic registration code.

  Good news and bad news, it worked.  But that tells me that there are a few occurring in race condition.  Well, I have no other choice.  I hope this helps someone else out there...
