• Acrobat 10.1.7 update does not open

  Acrobat X was purchased as part of the suite CS6. I installed it on my desktop Dell and Samsung laptop computer. Both machines are running Windows 7-64 bit and Internet Explorer 9. Version 10.1.6 worked fine on both machines. I installed the 10.1.7 update yesterday, 5/15.

  Today Acrobat 10.1.7 works well on Dell desktop computer

  It does not open on the Samsung laptop. When I click on the Acrobat icon desktop or try to run from the Start Menu, nothing happens. There is no error message.

  I also have a click with the right button on a PDF file, choose open with sailed to Acrobat X in my Program Files folder and tells to use this program as the default. Yet once again, the problem has not been corrected.

  It won't hurt to have Service Pack 1 if have not already.

  You may need to uninstall AE and other CS5 applications, run the Adobe Cleaner application (downloadable from Adobe), then reinstall software antivirus/firewall TURNED OFF.  It can prevent the correct installation.

  Before jumping into this somewhat drastic measure, I'll wait other opinions.
