After xp reformat, pages load very slowly

Recently reinstalled XP, I know it's difficult to diagnose problems with computer through forums, so I'm providing as much detail as possible. I have the same firewall, some of the same programs, same version of firefox, different av (disabled for a test, no change). I use a d-link adapter in a home network, there is no change, & there is NO MALWARE on here. I can't understand why every site I click loads so SLOWLY. Before the reformat, when I had a few problems of operating system, the pages loaded quickly. You would think that after a reformat, its similar with a new pc once again, that this would not happen. The pc boot faster that before, without problems for you to connect to any site, just very frustrating having to wait anywhere from 10 seconds to 45 seconds for a page to load. I understand there are different variables that come into play, to connect to a site, but it happens on all my favorite sites & anything I click on that. If anyone can help, I'll check back on here regularly to answer as soon as possible. THANKS for your time/help.

Let's just double-check something basic with the network... just to play it safe.

  • Initially Web pages load very slowly, but are a lot faster if I stop and reload the page

    Whenever I have initially load ANY page of a Web site, the first page really takes a lot of time to load. All pages of this site is loading very quickly thereafter. I also noticed that if I stop the loading of the page, immediately after my first click and then click on reload, the page loads almost instantly. I am currently using Firefox 20.0.1, but this problem has occurred for a while... at least as far as Firefox 19. According to my research, I've tried a bunch of suggested solutions, but nothing helps... including: off hardware acceleration, don't select any proxy, disabled ABP, etc.. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Please help, my dv 6 4430 s computer hp probook, after upgrating on windows laptop, laptop starts very slowly, I installedall drivers, but the problem remains. I'll apreciate for any help

    @xxxlx,

    Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forums.  You may need to activate the quick start upward with 10 Windows.  Your laptop may not be happy with the new operating system to 100%, so you may need to make some adjustments.

    Quick start - turn on or off in Windows 10

    Another thing to try is the Windows Update 10 troubleshooting tool.

    Windows Update Troubleshooter

    If that fails to solve the problem, you can restore the earlier version of the operating system until the new updates will be available from Microsoft and make sure there is a complete list of drivers for Windows 10 for your system.

    Please post back with the complete model and the product number of your system, so I can give you the link to the support page for your system.  Here is a link that will help you find this information.

    Computers how can laptops HP - I find my model number or product number?

    Please let me know how things are going and post back as soon as possible with the model and product numbers.

    Thanks again for posting and have a great day.

  • Windows Live Mail loads very slowly

  • BlackBerry Smartphones loading very slowly via USB power supply laptop

    When I use the wall charger, my fine storm costs.

    But if I connect it with the sync cable to my laptop - laptop is turned on with the BB Desktop software running (and I can confirm that I have a backup of the BB Desktop software then the drivers seem to work), the storm is charging is very very very slowly or not at all.

    Is it supposed to load OK via USB to the laptop power?  How can I go on troubleshooting this?

    Your question is not a problem, but normal and the answer "why" is simple. Wall charger puts out simply more power that the USB port on your laptop needs to (or can). In general, any single USB port is 100-150mA (and can be lower if your running on batteries and the system is allowed to control the ports), while the wall charger is to switch off a little more (700mA)... constantly.

    Not to mention that when connected to the laptop there is communication that passes between the device and the computer, especially if you use the Desktop Manager, which makes peripheral 'work' and try to reload at the same time. Sometimes the ' workload ' can be greater than the rate of charge, so why he does not pay at all.

    IMHO, load your device with the supplied charger. Only use your computer to charge your device in case of emergency. If you insist on charging the system with your laptop... Plug in your laptop computer, close the Desktop Manager and Device Manager and it should load a bit faster.

  • FFox loads VERY slowly, even with disabled modules, but has normal speed in safe mode. How to fix?

    All webpages to load slow and jerky. Same with the video. I tried refreshing FFox, disable all add-ons and uninstalling/reinstalling. None of this has worked. Then I tried safe mode and it worked: pages loaded normally. My OS is Windows 7 Professional. I used FFox for many years, but it is not usable with my current problem.

    Thank you!!

    Hi aaltman,
    Other people had the same problem before, maybe it's because of the settings in your firefox. Please look for the solution to your problem:

  • Why my site is loading very slowly?

    I recently created a Web site in Muse - gumdroppress.com - and transferred to my host, godaddy.com, but it hangs for centuries before he ever loading.

    There is virtually no content on the site at this point. I tried to optimize the size of the image, eliminating all the widgets (two have been added in) and streamlining / minimizing the styles, but it seems to make no difference, no matter what I do.

    I'd like suggestions of people could have what I could try. The site is basically useless at this point.

    Thanks for any help!

    The problem is related to the for the two videos in YouTube embed code. I can't say I've seen this particular slow before, but is there something unusual about your videos? The Muse content generated on the page load en.5 seconds. The two YouTube incorporates take 4 seconds to load. (It's all about my ridiculously fast company connection at Adobe). Have you tried to use the Widgets Library YouTube video widget? I'm curious to know if the embed code that it generates would demonstrate the same slow loading of YouTube for your specific videos.

  • I have updated to IOS 9.3.3 this morning. Since then my battery runs out very quickly and it loads very slowly. I read a post with similar issues and it was immediately rejected. I am convinced that this question took place directly after the update.

    I feel battery drain extremely fast and slow to load since the update to IOS 9.3.3. Any advice?

    Try the procedure described in this article to see if they help, especially to check background App update. Make sure it is OFF. Also, look under the battery as described in the article.

  • Definition of variables problem after the initial page load

    So, I'm pretty new to ColdFusion and hoping this is an easy solution.  I have a .cfm page that opens from different locations in a Web site.  Obli

    Ding whereupon it opens from, the House of variables and activebutton are assigned different values through an onclick event.  Based on these values, the variable room sets a background image for a div and the activebutton defined the textcolor to a different div via a style sheet in the header of the document.  Now, this part works very well with the following code in the stylesheet at the head of documents:

    {#fp_r1_c2}
    background-image: url('images/<cfoutput>#room#</cfoutput>');
    Width: 599px;
    height: 577px;
    float: left;
    }

    # < cfoutput > #activebutton # < / cfoutput >
    {
    color: #FFF;
    }

    Here's where things get hairy.  After that I have these defined variable initials there are 6 divs (those that activebutton changes the color attribute of) that the user can click on.  When you click any div must value #FFF color and some div has been selected previously should change the default color for the page.  In addition, the attribute background-image of the div tag that has been defined by the variable of the House needs to change for a new image that corresponds to each button.

    I tried several methods, most of which I probably messed up in any case.  But I am completely confused how to proceed.  Online search showed me that I can not include the new values in any command onclick... so exactly how should I go accomplish what I need to do?

    Tthanks in advance for any help!

    To change the page when it loads, use javascript.

    There are security software such as Avast and Kaspersky that intercepts secure connections and sends its own certificate.

    If you have Avast then try disabling the analysis of HTTPS in the Web Shield, Avast.

    If you cannot inspect the certificate by "I understand the risks", then try this:

    Open the "Add Security Exception" this URL chrome by pasting into the address bar of Firefox and check the certificate:

    • chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.XUL

    In the field of location of this window, type or paste the URL of the Web site.

    • retrieve the certificate via the button 'Get certificate '.
    • Click on the "view..." button. "to inspect the certificate in the certificate display

    You can check details such as the issuer and the certificate chain in the Details tab of the certificate display.
    Check which is the issuer of the certificate.
    If necessary, you can attach a screenshot that shows the display of the certificate.
