So I decide to install AoE2 on my laptop and found out that I can't play for some strange reason. The installation process itself was very well, it went well and was finished within 2-3 minutes of me put in service. Unfortunately what I was then told that I had to log my Administrators account, I looked online and found that I needed access to the files of games and run the application until the administrator has from there. I did, and then he came up with this:

Age of Empires II has stopped working
Windows can check online for a solution to the problem

Under this were 2 buttons, one to check online I pressed the program closed and that and I have no solutions. Under the buttons is a button of details of the problem and when I pressed it that came:

  • buy the update or complete, if vista problems

It's about whether I should buy windows 7 updated version or full.

dv4-1275mx has had problems for many months now with slow speeds, freezes, crashes, locks etc..  (note I had to reinstall the computer to its factory State a couple of times, and the problem persists so im sure its not virus) initially, I thought it was causing Media Center all the problems that I always get an error "media smart tv TSR has stopped working" and always seemed to be something running one the down payment (with the busy light flashes like crazy) the computer running slowly.  After that all these months I just found it's the registry causing most because it works fine now (after the execution of the tool pc registry mechanic) but still with media center and occasional freezes with windows Explorer errors.

If I use windows 7 upgrade, if it "recycle" files of vista (which might be corrupt) continues to give me the same problems in windows 7.  If this is the case, will install the full version of windows 7 get rid of my vista problems (I guess they are problems and not hp vista).

I see that nobody has answered your original question - what version should you buy?

The decision you need to make has been described by one of the others - do an 'upgrade' or a 'clean install '?  You will have both of these options if you purchase the upgrade version.  You will get no benefit at all to purchase the full version.

It is always better to do an install clean (which erases everything on the machine), especially if you are having problems with the system.  Yet once again, this can be done with the upgrade package.

  • A Vista problem or battery problem?

I have the same problem as a lot of people on this forum. I have a Gateway laptop that is brand new. Once 4 months the battery indicator starts to read "not plugged in charge ' so I sent it in Bridge 3 times. They have changed the mother, put the bios updated map, etc... but nothing has worked. Finally a new battery worked and I was happy. Now it has been 4 months later and the new battery is saying the same thing... "not plugged in charge." It also gives me a message of 0% battery life. BUT here's the funny part... the battery is fully charged. I can use it for 2 hours before he died and then I plug it and it loads fine... but when it is full, it goes to say ' plugged not supported "again. Any idea what the problem might be? A faulty wire? A bad connection between the battery and the laptop? or is it a Vista problem?

I made other suggestions such as the abolition of the command of battery etc... but nothing has worked. What's really funny is that if I remove the battery and put back in, the battery meter will then read very well (83%). It is a battery new (only 4 months), so I don't know what the problem is. The technicians out there with an answer? Thank you

    Hello

Sounds like continuing hardware problems for me so probably better to communicate with the gateway.

    =====================================================

Maybe this information will help you:

Old battery? Unplug the power to the computer - remove the battery and clean the contacts with a pencil
eraser (do not use this, if your battery is fine slots - just clean up the edges of the knife which fit in)
them and be careful). Batteries are old, or it could be a problem with the computer.
Check with the support of the machine system, and many of them have on line forums.

New Lithium-Ion type battery usually last longer if you do not unload then less than 30%
However on a laptop that not extend their life a lot. Best is to use the a/c adapter
    When this is possible.

I use the free version of BatteryBar to monitor my battery. Click on the green button on the
Yellow box on the right side of the page to download the latest stable version.

  • Question of Caps Lock Notification? Vista problem? or Dell Inspiron Issue?

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum; but I don't know who it is.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 running Vista Home Premium 64 Bit.

The question is when ever I type in another Forum, such as this one; or an email or even a Word document and I activate the "Caps" lock - it will get the sentence I type and I have the mouse to where I was.

I know that I get a notification "on the screen", but what the hell is happening? It shouldn't start me the sentence when I type.

I searched for hours and finally comes to join this community. So is it a Vista problem or a problem of Dell?

    Thanks in advance!

You have Dell Quickset, installed on your system? Have you looked inside for a parameter disable the notification?

EDIT: According to this thread, it is certainly a matter of quick adjustment... They solved by uninstalling QuickSet, but there may be a QuickSet setting to disable the notification...

  • Age of empires II: age of Kings and age of empires II 'winners' works is not on vista. Tried to run in compatibility mode!

I tried to run in compatibility mode, but it still doesn't work.

He moved very well, and I tried to reinstall several times.

whenever I go to play, it says that it has stopped working and windows tells me when they find a solution.

    Help, please

I really want to play this game =)

Thank you for your reply and your answer. Your solution was inapplicable in this case for these 2 reasons. The AE2 and The Conquerors expansion have been installed, but for some reason, the EULA was absent, I finally found and agreed. I have implemented my Shaw cable ISP security. It is a very good set up and is basically silly evidence in the game. One of the peculiarities is the deep guard who monitors all programs and Web sites. All I have to do is turn off while I'm running AE2 or IT.

I found information about Shaw Secure in one of Microsoft sites and I don't remember which.

Find the EULA, I had to search thought for her installation files.

Thanks again for your help, even if it did not apply in this case.

  • Age of Empires II Age of Kings not completely installed

I had to reformat my hard drive and installed Windows XP with service pack 3. It is the same operating system installed on the machine.  I installed Age of Mythology, with no problems, but when you try to install Age of Empires, the installation starts, but then crashes during the installation of the files. I tried with 3 different Age Empire, II, Age of the King disc and they all freeze-up during file transfer.  Help!

I'm sory to say this, but I think you are trying to INSTALL these games... all in GOOD ORDER!

"Age of Mythology" has never been the a 1 exit.

Remove it and re-install all... in their order.

This is what is causing the 'big freeze '!

  • Age of Empire II cannot install on Vista?

I am trying to install it on my computer, which is a Vista, and while it loads, a popup tells me that is not working.

I can not quite copy because my game is in French, but he says it's a file write error (?). He has written too location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Empire II\AVI\AGE2. AVI, then he said to check my disk space hard or if the file is not currently in use (I'm doing my best to translate, I do not know all the computer talk in English)

I can ignore it, but he's finally coming back without him, and then I'm screwed.

I tried to run it as administrator, installation and basic, but nothing seems to work. All the solutions for that?

EDIT: If I ignore it, the inevitable message is a message on DATA\graphics.drs
I checked the location of the two files, but I don't see anything weird, maybe it's the last file is only 0 k...?

Hello Whackbag.  Looks like it could be a damaged drive.  Especially if its happening right on a file.  Try to copy the contents of the disc on the desktop and run the installer from there instead. • How to install Age Of Empires III on a Windows Vista or 7?

I bought Age of Empires III (without extensions, only the original) a few years ago and it worked well on my Windows XP operating system.  I now have a Windows Vista computer and another that runs on Windows 7, and AOEIII installs correctly on either.  On the Vista computer, I get an error message saying the game has known compatibility issues, but there is no solutions when I click on the button "find solutions online.  I choose to install the program even when and installation runs without any problems, but after a few minutes, an error message appears saying that there is an error in opening a specific file and I need to check that the file exists.  I click try again, but the message continues to appear every few minutes.  I tried many solutions online, including the execution of the program in different modes of compatibility and running it as an administrator.  I downloaded a patch for the game, but when I double click on the patch to fix the game, another error message appears saying that there is a problem with my installation.  I checked many sources who say the game is fully compatiable on Windows Vista and 7, but of course, it does not work for me.

    Hi blakesk8dgk,

    ·         What is the exact error message you get?

Check first if Age of Empire III is compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7 in Windows 7 or Windows Vista Compatibility Center:

    Windows 7 Compatibility Center

    Windows Vista Compatibility Center

    Step 1:

Take a look at the link to the following article:

Error messages when you try to install Age of Empires III or Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends: "Error 1935" or "Error 1904".

    Step 2:

If the game is not compatible, then try to install in compatibility mode and check if it helps:

Windows Vista - Make sure to run older programs in this version of Windows

Run Windows 7 - make older programs in this version of Windows

    I hope this helps.

  • Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings will not work on Windows 7, says I'm not compatible with DirectDraw.

I played AoE II forever, but for the last six months have not been able to play on my Toshiba laptop that is running Windows 7.  Any other information required I can give you if you ask.

My system meets the minimum requirements

Compatibility mode does not work for any earlier version of Windows selected.

I updated DirectX in all possible ways.

    I downloaded the patch aoe2.

The game still does not work.

Now, I know very little of video cards, but I know that my father has the same laptop and the game runs very well on her.

I tried to open it with 256 colours and 800 x 600 resolution

I tried to disable my graphics card and got the same message.

DirectX says that DirectDraw is activated.

It should be out once (I don't know how or why) I had the game starts.  about six months and I did nothing different from normal.  It has not started again since. But it means that I know that it is able to work on this machine.

Also, I never had this error until recently; before it would just go to a black screen until I ctl + alt + delete my way out of it.

I am begging you people at Microsoft to figure this out for me, to find a way to get rid of this error message...

    Hi the Gun22,

1 did you install the updated drivers for the graphics card on the computer?

    2. What is the version of DirectX that is installed on the computer?

    3. What is the full error message that you receive?

    Method 1

See the below Microsoft article and try the steps mentioned, check if it helps.
