  Yes, there is no reason why the drive is not recognized short a faulty drive or defective disc. Your statement in a previous reply that 'the player works with other drives' leads me to believe the former. Sometimes, the discs can be read by another CD/DVD drive. Maybe you can use another computer to copy the contents of the disk (s) on a USB stick and transfer data across like a folder or an ISO.

  After a few years with Age of Empires III: the Asian Dynasties uninstalled I recently tried to install it.
