Hello

Try it on another computer to see if the disc is in good shape.
If it works fine on the other computer, then download and install the latest firmware for the CD/DVD-ROM from your manufacturer for vista website.

It may be useful

and I know not weather am I ment to happen something to download, a Web site or document? Help, please!

You seem to have active AutoRun.  Click the start ORB, then type in AutoRun and press ENTER.

A new box should appear, select the line of software and games, and use the drop-down list to select installation or execution of the program.  Click Save.

Press the tab open on the DVD/CD drive and then close it (with your disk of Age of Empires, always in the drive)... now the installation option should appear.

    Enjoy the game!

  • Microsoft Age of Empires Collectors edition (age of empires 1, rise of rome, age of empires 2 the conquerors and Kings)

bought Microsoft Age of Empires Collectors edition. It has all the games above on 1 disk. I have windows 7 Home premium 34 bit. When I put the disc in the drive of the computer says there is nothing in there and nothing appears. the drive works with the other discs.was really looking forward to play. Help, please!

... but would it not able to detect in the drive

Yes, there is no reason why the drive is not recognized short a faulty drive or defective disc. Your statement in a previous reply that 'the player works with other drives' leads me to believe the former. Sometimes, the discs can be read by another CD/DVD drive. Maybe you can use another computer to copy the contents of the disk (s) on a USB stick and transfer data across like a folder or an ISO.
  • Saved multiplayer games in Age of Empires Collector Edition fo not start

I use a DVD-ROM PC named Empires collector's Edition of the age. It is not possible for me to start a multiplayer game of Age of Empires II registered. The error message is "you must have a CD in your CD-ROM drive to play the game."

I used the same computers and configuration when I tried to start the saved game as was used when the game has been saved.

I spent a lot of time looking for a solution without progress. I'll be very happy if someone knows how to solve this problem.

I looked liked Microsoft technical support options. Perhaps one of the problems is that they never thought that this DVD should need support on its own. The only support that have ever existed is related to the AOE II, but this problem is directly related to the release of the collection.

Another thing, I discovered that the with the extension of conquerors, on the same DVD, it is possible to open internet saved. It isn't Age of Kings, but pretty close. For my son, this solution will be good enough.

  • Age of Empires II

When I insert my disc in my cd on laptop drive, he goes to the Media Player and plays the songs, I have this disc of the collector's Edition and downloaded because the icon is on the desktop, but when I click the icon it goes again to Media Player for songs. I also did run when inserting on the control panel and I also changed to wonder at each insertion, but it always goes to the media player. What I need to do to make sure it has downloaded, because, he also gave me a code to use when contacting Microsoft, it doesn't say it is downloaded correctly?

    Hello

O that happens only with the disk of Age of Empire II or the entire disk?

O than any other work of thin disc and open the program normally without having to open Windows Media Player?

I suggest to reset the settings of automatic execution on your computer to the default settings and check if it helps you to solve the problem and open the drive normally.  To reset the default settings, follow these steps:

    1. To open AutoPlay by clicking the theStart button, click Control Panel, hardware and sound, and then clickingAutoPlay.

    b. click on reset to default values.

You can also navigate to the link below and follow the steps to change the settings for automatic execution on the computer and check if it helps.

I hope this helps. Let us know the results.

  • Re: Tecra M2 - age of empires II - all features?

    Hello

I have a microsoft, called «the age of empire II» game
Everything works fine, but some features are 'out '.

For military units, I don't have the choice of attitudes (position, defence, attack...) I do not see the 'icons', and the shortcuts don't work.

I have XP spec3 of the window and I loaded the latest Direct X.

For the verification of my own game, I loaded a trial version of microsoft, and I have the same problem.

I also have a very old Toshiba satellite pro, and on this "old" everything works!

Do you know if Microsoft has a forum on this kind of problem?

    Thank you

Your graphics driver is perhaps too old to run Age of Empires III. If you want to update your drivers, contact the manufacturer of your computer for any assistance needed.

Can not I play this game?
Or should I just renew a driver?
    What about producer?

    Hi mohamed

Well, you should has a P4 2.5 GHz processor with 1024 MB of RAM to play this game, but if you want optimal performance of the game, you must use a 3 GHz 1024 MB Ram PC with the graphics card performance.
Also, check if you have installed the latest DirectX tools with the latest graphics driver. In addition it s advisable to check for some patches for this game.

  • Age of Empire III slow on Satellite A100 - 02L PSAAQE

    Hi guys

IM new here so forgive me if its been asked, Age of Empires 3 says that my memory card has only 32 MB on graphics.
But the record shows her lying 128 MB model is a PSAAQE-00P00KAV.

can someone let me know how to increase usage?

    see you soon

    Hello

Your laptop supports Mobile Intel Express Chipset graphics card 945GM.

This graphics card is not designed for a game!
It s a shared memory graphics card and if it s needed, it takes the memory of main memory.

Graphics memory depends on the value of the main memory.
A higher value of main memory would allow greater value of graphics card memory.

But as I said above it s not a graphics of game and you shouldn't t wonder on game performance.

  • Satellite A200 start Age of Empires

    Hello world

My daughter has a Sat A200 1.8 GHz 3052 available RAM, installed Direct X 10, more older version 9 to run older games. Under Vista Home Premium with an ATI Radeon Graphics Processor 0 chip x 9581 (Mobility Radeon HD) 2600.

I get an error at the launch of Age of Empires II and I have the chart cannot initialize and check the compatibility of card and the video driver with Direct Draw.

I did, Direct sampling is enabled, the ATI driver has been updated, windows also updates and the game still gives me the same message.

Do you have a registry clean after using the game of the demo, which also did not work.

I got this game on two other laptops, a new Compaq and a 12 months, as well as old Acer laptop on my fully equipped acer desktop computer to vista. The only problem I have is with the Compaq laptop screen resolution should be set back to normal after the games, but it works very well. I don't know why the Toshiba Satellite is to give so much trouble.

    Can someone enlighten me? Please...

    Hello

    > the ATI driver has been updated
And what ATI drivers you have installed exactly? Since the site of Toshiba or other drivers?

AFAIK for Age of Empires II are some fixes available. Have you installed them? As far as I know you can download on the Microsoft Web site.

You can also try starting the game in compatibility mode. That's why I choose Windows XP.

  • Satellite P100: View the problem of driver on installation of Age of Empires

    Hello

I would like to know if there is a solution to the following problem:
a / inability to implement "Age of Empire": during installation, the system displays the following message:
Failed to initialize your videocard check if your driver is compatible with direct sampling.

b / inability to put in place the latest version of the driver downloaded from NVIDIA (91.28_forceware_winxp2k_international.exe) site

    Hello

I would also try to first install the latest version of the directX application. I think the latest version is 9 c.
In addition, I would like to say a few words on the graphics drivers. The fact is that driver graphic Toshiba are not similar with the original graphics drivers from the card making. The graphics driver Toshiba supports protection against overheating, because the laptop card has no clean cooling module. The pilot controls the performance of the graphics card and decreases performance and speed if the temperature rises to a higher level.
In this case, it s advisable to use only the drivers of Toshiba, because other drivers can damage the card.

  • Age of Empire 1 and 2 do not work on P100-350

I can't run Age Of Empire I or II on a P100-350 under Win XP.
    AOE I works only at 640 x 480.
AOE II does not at all. I get a message about directX has not loaded.

Someone has already experienced this problem?

I have exactly the same problem (on a Satellite P100-6198) with the same games under WinXP Media Center: it is said that DirectDraw is not taken in charge while DirectDraw tests are quite normal... There is obviously a problem. Someone please unlock us because my father-in-law bought a Toshiba too under my guidance and his favorite Albums game is Age of Empires 2, he is VERY FRUSTRATED not being able to play!

  • Don't play age of Empires 3 on the Satellite A200-1DN

    Hello
I have a Satellite A200-1dn with 1.5 GB of ram and an intel gma 950 / 945gm express chipset family.
The problem is that the age of empires 3 requires a minimum of 64 MB of video ram. Mine is 32 MB.
I've heard from the dvmt (dynamic video memory technology) and I was wondering is anyone know how to change it to the max?
I heard that you can change CMOS, anyone know how to acess cmos? My bios version is 1.30. max dvmt may go up to 224 MB of video ram, that would be great.

    Please answer soon, thx

    Hello

Generally, a user must read the MANUAL before asking these questions. But while you already here I can tell you how to access:

Press F2 right after the power of the machine (when you see the toshiba logo) whereas there should be the option you want / need.

Did you already check if you have the latest version of the bios installed? It would be a good idea to do so:

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

Hope you can get more video ram, my friend :)

  • Satellite Pro P200: Cannot play Age of Empires, because DirectDraw

    I just replaced my old laptop (a ps210e) with a 15th Satellite Pro P200.

I can't my old age of Empires II game to run--the error message is "cannot initialize the graphics system. Make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with DirectDraw. »

Google told me that there is utility to run to test this called dxdiag and I ran it and it says allowed to DirectDraw acceleration (as well as many other things).

So, what should I do to get the Age of Empires to run?

Moreover, is this an official forum of Toshiba to get technical support, or simply a community of user group? I couldn't find anything on the Web of Toshiba UK site actually contact the Toshiba direct technical support.

    Thank you

Stand by. Have you Vista preinstalled Satellite Pro P200? Did you check the minimum system requirements for Age of Empires?

  • When you try to play multiplayer in Age of Empires II: The Conquerors, unable to join Windows 7 machine game.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium and whenever I try to play multiplayer with my XP machine, the computer detects the game, but whenever I try to join, he tells me that he is unable to join the game.  We have disabled the two firewalls, but that has not worked.  In addition, we played on LAN.

Well, looking around, I actually found a person who says that if you change the type of connection (in game settings) of TCP/IP to IPX fixed LAN connection problems.

Also check that your router is configured to allow traffic on the ports required by the game.
