AHCI drivers

I have a Toshiba Satellite A305-S6843, and the motherboard chipset is an Intel PM965 Express.  I get an unmountable boot volume error when trying to boot Vista, so I tried to use the Recovery Console to run the disk check.  However, the recovery console can not detect the operating system, even after loading the AHCI drivers.  The drivers I've had are here:

http://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?AGR=Y&DwnldID=17882&ProdId=2800&lang=eng

I extracted the drivers for a USB and a USB external hard drive.

Some research indicates that the driver is ICH8M, but after loading all those provided by Intel in any case, the recovery console may not always detect my OS.

Another disadvantage is that sometimes the recovery console can not detect my USB flash drives, even with the legacy USB is enabled in BIOS.  SATA is set to the compatibility of the BIOS, as well as the devil do I need for the recovery console, to recognize the installed operating system?

Edit: Running ChkDsk/r anyway. I hope that the fact that the operating system cannot be detected in the first place will not affect anything.

ChkDsk gave me "an unspecified error has occurred."  Awesome...

Hi Impact009,

Please see the post below with a similar problem and fix possible:

    Hello

I tried to reinstall Win Vista Home Premium to my Satellite U400-183. I used a DVD OS Win that came with my other laptop to other manufacturing and the key that came with my Toshiba laptop. Everything works beautifully, but in some areas of Windows is still some specific parameters of the manufacturing on the other. Now is it possible to get a DVD of Windows Vista Toshiba?

Another question is where can I get the AHCI drivers. There is only an exe file on the support site which I can't use during the installation of Windows. There must be some these .sys files, but I can't find them on the Toshiba site, so I had to install Windows in compatibility mode.

    Thanks in advance!

PS: Sorry for my bad English, I'm from the Germany...

    Hello!

A new recovery DVDs, you can get your local ASP (authorized service provider).
Or you order a DVD from Toshiba directly:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

The AHCI drivers or let say Intel Storage Manager, you can download from the Toshiba site as you have already said.
The .exe file, you must check out to use during the installation, but with the recovery disk you n t need them.
Please read the readme file in the Storage Manager, there is an example how to extract it. Use the command line what it

  • AHCI drivers for Windows XP Professional 32 and 64-bit

    Hi all

    I have a HP Pavilion p6 2355il desktop PC

I want to use Windows XP Professional on my pc so I need driver AHCI for 32 and 64 bits at a time. Drivers must be ready for installation f6 Option (text-mode Setup).

    Thanks in advance
    Sunil [personal information]

    Hello:

Here is the link to the AHCI drivers, you need for your PC.

XP 64 bit is the first download.

    http://downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=21730&Keyword=Intel+Rapid+Storage+Technology+(Intel+RST) & lang = fra

You must either wake all the drivers or use a USB FDD to install the AHCI driver specific necessary for your PC to the F6 prompt button which I think is the Intel (r) Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller.

You can check by going to Device Manager and click to expand the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers section to see the name of the installed sata AHCI controller.

This is the driver that you select in the list on the floppy drive if you use the method of installing the drivers floppy.

If you would rather integrate the drivers, here's a guide to do it.

Read the Intel section, and then follow the instructions in the document to integrate all the drivers.

  • Question about the Y510 AHCI drivers for install XP

    NiHao Lenovo Forum,

I am a proud owner of your IdeaPad Y510. I just wanted to ask what the web page offers Lenovo the AHCI storage driver to activate the storage controller SATA on the motherboard for my laptop Lenovo IdeaPad Y510?

I ask because Y510 as many users who install the XP will need to have these storage SATA controller drivers if they want to support higher speeds, hot plug and native command queuing (NCQ).

I see that Lenovo provides the following AHCI drivers for ThinkPad found here:

    www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/MIGR-62909.html

Also, it would be useful to let everyone know that Lenovo Y510 models come with what advice system that they have, with regard to the necessary SATA AHCI Controller driver for them.

I see the ThinkPad models use Intel 82801GBM SATA AHCI Controller or Intel 82801HEM/HBM SATA AHCI Controller as indicated above from the URL.

How can I check my Y510 to know what Intel SATA AHCI Controller is necessary here?

Some clarification would be useful. Thanks in advance for any help and assistance here.

Also another method here would not create an installation with the Intel Matrix Storage Manager drivers slipstreamed XP disc? And how does a person know which of the many Intel Matrix Storage Manager drivers should be slipstreamed to the pilot Y510 AHCI SATA Controller here?

And how many different models of Lenovo Y510 uses different system boards? Think there are at least two, because some have been announced with a FSB 800 MHz right?

Thanks for any help and support here in advance.

Read the FAQ some might answer your questions.
Also, I suggest that different motherboards are in different models, as I said there are even different colors - green and Brown motherboards there. Brown, I saw myself - those who are ASUS, green are unknown for me.
Then, NCQ is not a feature of driver software. It is a material of HARD drive capacity to optimize movement traectory leaders to speed up the read/write process. So, no driver is required to activate. This work iven in the BACK.
AHCI driver is inside driver chipset. Also, you can integrate it. Please, read the FAQ .

  • Dv6500 - Windows 7 - SATA AHCI Drivers

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion Dv6500 and recently purchased a copy of Win 7 Home Premium edition.

I've been toying with the idea of downgrading to XP like many others for quite awhile but decided to stick it out. the system had to be rebuilt, but I didn't I would have too many problems, system shaped like Win 7 uses the Vista kernel.

However, to my great surprise Win 7 does not notice the SATA HARD drive and I can't find the AHCI drivers anywhere on the site for Win 7 - finished those trials still HP? I note that a thread existed a few months ago and they were waiting to be signed / certified someone can help me to find the necessary driver for the HARD disk is picked up?

The question I have is that I have a BONE, I just spent more than £100 on a copy of Windows 7 to find that the drivers aren't on your site and the machine didn't come with a copy of the Vista OS CD for me to re - install when I bought the comet.

    Hi Cheryl,

We tested the theory of a replacement HARD drive tonight and to my surprise (don't say I doubted you for a second there) but the system has formatted the new HARD drive and we have installed VISTA and are currently in train now to see how he handles the new installation of Windows 7.

Everything to go well. We will buy a 320 GB HARD drive and install Windows 7 directly.

Thank you once again for your help on this issue. very much appreciated.

I'm trying to downgrade my laptop (have no choice because the diagnostic software must XP works correctly) and I get BSOD when installing finish loading the drivers. I'm trying to slipstream it the appropriate drivers in the XP installation disc.

I burned about 8 CD until know but knothing works.

    Can you help me please?

It's weird because HP that support this model for XP.

PS. No, there are no bios options to turn on the IDE

It seems that works well because the installation disc recognizes the discs. So for the people out there who are facing the same question the drivers I used for Compaq Presario CQ56 - 240 CA with chipset 785GX - SB00 AMD is here: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/raid_windows.aspx#3

  • SATA AHCI DRIVERS FOR HP630 TO RUN WINDOWS XP X 64

    Hi all

Please help me on getting the ACHI SATA drivers for the laptop HP630 so that I can install windows XP 64-bit.

    Sure.

    I have them attached below.

  • Need AHCI drivers for windows 7 64 bit. W510

Technical support can help me on them as the 2 they show the system it will not work. Program installation Windows 7 compatible shows, but after I load them it cannot detect the hard disk again. At the moment its 32 bit running with the factory install but they usually offer even to sell me a set of 64-bit recovery. Even if lenovo gives the option to free 32 or 64 bits. Everybody is in charge between 30 and 50 more for the 64-bit edition.

So if your internal HARD drive is DOA you actually try to install Windows on a HARD USD drive connected to the computer? Well actually, this seems to be the question or he would have worked without any issues of pilot and useful information to help out you. I've never tried, but the W510 got two USB 3.0 ports that is marked with the blue wire on the left side of the computer. There is also a combo USB/eSATA port on the left side and a USB 2.0 on the back. I think the USB 3.0 ports need drivers which is not provided with Windows. So if your HARD drive is connected to one of the ports USB 3.0 on the left side and then try to connect the HARD drive to the port USD 2.0 in the back instead and see if that fixes the problem.

But just out of curiosity why would you install Windows 7 on a USB drive, if you get the replacement drive tomorrow? Running Windows from a USB hard disk on your laptop doesn't seem very practical.

  • Satellite P300-20R - where can I find drivers for AHCI?

    Hello

    I have a TOSHIBA Satellite P300-20R and I installed a 320 GB 7200 RPM HD.
I partitioned and formatted and I would like to install Windows XP Pro and I started the installation CD and after the first screen when loading Windows
all files in memory... critical an error appear. Why?

    Is the SATA AHCI driver?
Where I canfFind SATA AHCI driver for P300-20R?

    Thank you very much

    Hello!

Yes, for the Satellite P300, you need the AHCI drivers. This is necessary on each laptop, which is equipped with a SATA HDD, because otherwise the HARD drive will not be recognized OS.

The drivers, you can find the Toshiba site. It s called Intel Storage Manager.
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

Now, you have two possibilities to integrate the drivers. You copy the drivers on an external floppy drive and load the drivers after booting from the CD with F6. Or use you nLite to create your own installation with these drivers disc.
If you have other questions about this, please read the hundreds of threads here in the forum. This procedure returns on every laptop.

  • AHCI for Windows professional XP on Elitebook 2560p drivers

Due to a specific part of the software, I'm trying to install Windows XP on an EliteBook 2560p with drivers for the SATA AHCI controller.  Where can I get these drivers, and what is the best way to install?  I guess that since the laptop doesn't have a floppy drive I need to incorporate them into my XP CD?  What is the specific chipset driver? -from what I've seen on the page from Intel, there are a bunch of different options; ICH10d, ICH10R, ICH7M, etc, etc.

    Thanks in advance.

TSK, tsk.  You must have obtained the name of the first ACHI SATA controller.

This is the reason why we should always have a USB FDD in their Toolkit.

Ok. I'll take a guess and say that you have the Intel (r) Mobile Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller.

Now that you have already installed XP, first install the chipset driver and restart.

    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=5071201&prodNameId=5071203&swEnvOID=1093&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ob-96363-1

Download the second listed file and then extract these drivers to a folder that you put somewhere on your drive C:\ so that you can navigate him later.

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=20216&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%20XP%20Professional * & DownloadType=.

Follow this procedure to install the AHCI with XP driver:

    1. right click on the icon my computer, click on manage, select Device Manager
