Airport Extreme loses the connection to the home network

I have an Airport Extreme (AE) with Cox Internet in my house. Version AE 7.6.7 since the end of may 2016, I lost WiFi connection radomly. I had a Cox technician out who finished just change a 'filter' in our neighborhood who feed on other Cox at the reception. He said this analog filter had to be upgraded to a digital filter.  Despite this, my WiFi kept down again. According to other Threads of the community, this problem was solved by putting the IPV6 in AE parameter for "link-local only.  I did this and still it is falling.

According to a recent post in support of Cox:

Most of the routers to retail, especially those produced in recent years, are completely compatible with IPv6. Cox has determined that the Apple AirPort Extreme routers, including Time Capsule models, may know Internet connectivity issues when running the firmware released before May 25, 2016. For more information, contact Apple Support.

To a Moderator: Apple will have an AE update for this problem?

The moderators of the forum are not questions on a user to user support forum, so don't expect a response from an Apple employee.  Please contact Apple Support directly if you wish to speak directly with Apple.

Then, Apple has already released the new firmware... 7.6.7 May 25... so it's not the question that you reference in the statement on the website of Cox. Cox was referring to a firmware sooner, like 7.6.4, for example in their declaration.

We have seen a number of messages from other users of Cox, who reported that the new firmware has resolved connection issues that existed before.

To find out where the real problem may lie, I suggest that you connect a computer (with the wireless turned off) directly to one of the LAN ports <>- on AirPort Extreme for a few days and keep an eye on the connection.

Post back your results. Then, we'll know if you have a general Internet... connection problem that could be a problem of modem... or a single wireless issue.  In all cases, it will help if you provide the model number of the AirPort Extreme you have... and... he make and model number of the modem you are using at the moment.

I just got a new modem (Arris SB6190) and now my Airport Extreme does not connect.  It worked fine with the previous modem (a rented one TWC).  Help!

Always recommended to reset the airport back to settings by default and then set up again whenever you have a new modem or change your Internet Service provider.

Turn off the new modem for at least 30 minutes. More is better.

Perform a hard reset on the AirPort Extreme, then it turned off.

Make sure that the Ethernet cable connects the modem to the "O" on the AirPort Extreme WAN port

After the power of the modem 30 minutes down, turn on the modem and let it run for at least 5 minutes by itself.

Then, turn on the airport and let it run a few minutes

    Set up AirPort Extreme again

Important note... There are many reports of problems with the modem Arris SB and airports. Both are great products, but they do seem to work perfectly together for some users.

  • How to scan a document HP MFP127fn for my Ipad Air2 (the two are connected to my home network)

Hi, how to scan a document HP MFP127fn for my Ipad Air2?

The two are connected to my home network - the HP printer is connected by ethernet cable, and the Air2 Ipad connected by WiFi.

I can print from the Ipad to the printer but cannot scan.

The printer is properly connected (IE, it scans to another laptop (windows 7) without problems)

    Hi @regtown,

    My bad

Looks like you won't be able to scan to PC or Mac with this printer. HP ePrint app is certainly compatible via iOS for printing, but it won't help you analyze for iPad.

  • HP Deskjet 3830: Printer connected by wireless worked well until someone joined the home network - looking for password now!

I created my HP Deskjet 3830 yesterday and it worked on wireless connection. At no time was I asked a network security key.

A colleague joined today to the home network (yesterday I was myself), and requested a key security network - to my surprise I was so.

I put my wireless network password, and he says that it is evil. I used HP Print and Scan doctor to confirm the password (I guess that's the same thing as a "security key" - it was OK, but I keep being told it's wrong.)

It is porrible that it is because my setup yesterday wasn't network but without straight wire? Or want to say I'm wrong?

Other: since yesterday I have not changed anything or even restarted.

Reset the printer to the default network. Now plug it back to your routers SSID with password. Try now. If Direct wireless is enabled in the printer, turn it off.

    Hi Joseph,.

Did you the latest changes on the system?

You can try to temporarily disable third-party antivirus software and firewall installed on your computer and check if the problem persists. If the problem is resolved, you will need to uninstall the software and reinstall it back or change the settings and check.

Note: Be sure to enable the security software on the computer after checking.

  • Windows cannot connect to the home network

    Hello

My laptop can't connect to my home network. It can detect the network, but whenever I try to connect to it, it said "Windows could not connect to the (network).

My other devices (iPad, mobile phone) can connect to him, so I doubt that it is a problem of modem?

I have connected my laptop to the modem directly via an ethernet cable and it works. What is a network driver problem? Because I tried to update the driver, but they said that they are updated to the latest already.

    Someone help me please.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I understand that you are unable to connect to the network via modem, but thread and I'll be happy to answer your query. Let me ask you;

    1. How you did update the network driver?
    2. When was the last time you were able to connect to the wireless network?
    3. Remember to no particular change in the computer before the show?
    4. What is the brand and model of the computer?

Since you are able to connect to the network using the modem, it could be because of the card network is outdated or corrupted. I would recommend that you try the methods below and check.

Method 1: Run the network troubleshooter

Refer to the article below to run the network troubleshooter

Using the troubleshooter from network in Windows 7

Method 2: Update the NIC manufacturer support Web site

I suggest you to visit the website of the manufacturer of the computer support and install the latest network adapter on Windows 7 Web site and check.

Restart the computer and then try to connect to the network after you have installed the latest driver.

  • Residential Group / Network ID Issuee as I can't get the homegroup to connect to my home network

I am running Win 7 Pro on my laptop and can't get the homegroup to connect to my home network. I have two other computers (wired, one wireless) which are connected and share without problem and can even see (that) the name of my laptop on the network home.

When I run the troubleshooter to homegroup, it is to identify a network problem, but the next step cannot identify a because my laptop connects wireless both at home and on the road. I think that the problem is in my setting of the network ID and the Discovery Mode as when I try to change the setting for network ID for 'Home' instead of 'Business' it resets right back to business. Same thing happens with trying to turn the discovery mode 'On', it is 'Off '.

I appreciate all the help that I have been fighting this issue for awhile now and just have not had time to fix.

    Hello Robert,.

Here are the network discovery. Since they may not appear in the Windows Firewall, the place to download Simple Service Discovery Protocol (SSDP-In) and outside, you try to check these services whether or not they are running.

  • New dv - 6033cl 6 connects to the home network.

I just bought this laptop yesterday. During the initial installation, he finds my home network easily and worked well. Last night, it stop working. He sees the network, but does not connect.

Computer is Win 7 Home Premium, 64-bit.

Can I wireless home from my phone, so it CAN connect.

I updated my firmware to the router (Linksys WRT150N), strengthened the WPA2-Personal security and restarted the router. Nothing helps.

I have three other computers running Windows 7 here (2 are HP, it's a Sony) and a Sony Vista - all these are perfectly connected to the home network.

I'm frustrated - ideas? Thank you very much for your help!

I have trouble with my router channels too, and which did not help. I was kind of beat my head against the wall last night...

You know what finally worked? I turned off the Bluetooth. As soon as that blew up, the wireless immediately (and automatically) hooked up to my home network. Crazy, isn't it?

I really appreciate all the help and advice ~ thank you for your time!

How can I change the location of the home network be connected?
I have internet access but cannot connect to a network.

Go to "Network and sharing Center" > click on "Customize" > change the location of the 'Public', 'private '.

    Edit
Sorry the above is garbage, I was on mode vista.

Try, 'network and sharing Center' in the section 'Show your active networks' - it can show 'Public network' or 'work '. If, so click on the one which is indicated and select "home network".

    Note:
If the other PC on your network are Win XP you can change the name of working group of win7 in "MSHOME".

  • Can completely connect to the guest computers VM to other physical PCs on the home network

VMWare Workstation 6.5 runs on a Windows Vista 64 - bit PC. With work stations, we have 2 computers invited running: TerriVM and MattVM (these two are running Windows XP SP2). We are seeking a virtual network set up so we can access the files on both of these customers other VM systems real PC connected to the home network.

We believe that we are close, but we can not quite do things... This is what we have done so far:

    • On VM Workstation, we define "host virtual network mapping" to use VMnet0 with the parameter "bridge to an adapter automatically chosen."

    • On each virtual machine guest (i.e. using Windows Explorer in XP), we rightmouse on the C drive, click the 'Sharing' tab, set share name to 'C_Disk' and tick the two boxes marked "_Share this folder on the network_" and "_Allow the network users to change my files.txt '.

    Symptoms:

On "JohnsRealXP" PC, we go to Windows Explorer, my computer, map network drive, type in the folder text box: *.
TerriVM\C_Disk * and assign drive T letter. We see all the files on the shared drive and can open files on them. So that's good.

On "JohnsRealXP" PC, we go to Windows Explorer, my computer, * card

Road network *, type in the folder text box: *.
    MattVM\C_Disk *.

and assign the drive letter Mr. we get a message "_the network path" box
    mattvm\C_Disk could not be found_.

    Otherwise, just beat us
mattvm\ in the folder and click on 'Browse' and get a dialog box where go down us "Entire network" to "Microsoft Windows network" "Workgroup" where TerriVM and MattVM are among the computers on the network. By clicking on the + sign next to MattVM gives an hourglass and never hit the OK button and I have to cancel.

In summary, I think that we have tried to share both of these virtual machines using the same techniques and communicate with them in a similar way, but connects correctly and the other machine is visible but no shared resources to this topic are accessible. Can anyone suggest something perhaps overlooked or something to try? Thank you very much in advance.

You're IP Configuration looks good, the MAC address is different (which sometimes isn't the case when people clone their guests). So no complaints here.

    What about firewalls?

NetBIOS is enabled on MattVM (it shows an unknown node type).

MattVM is also no DNS search suffix. "Have you tried to map the drive with.
