• Why is it not my Airport Express recognized by Airport utility

  I recently bought a second hand Airport Express (2nd generation).  I gave him a second 10 reset, turned and opened the last Airport utility.  The airport reported no signs of an Airport Express, light orange just kept flashing slowly.

  In the end, I tried an Ethernet between my PC and the Airport Express and the device was picked up by the utility, I set to wireless, WPA, password, country, and anything else relevant.  After a power cycle with cable Ethernet has deleted the device worked perfectly, wireless streaming audio for my Hi Fi.

  When you say you have tried the 'later' AirPort Utility, it was for a Mac or an iPhone, iPod, iPad, etc.?

  If it's a Mac, after resetting the AirPort Express Terminal, you can get the running "Wizard" configuration by clicking the WiFi menu at the top of the screen of the Mac and then by clicking on the AirPort Express to the title of the announcement of the new AirPort base station.

  You must reset the 2nd Gen AirPort Extreme back to default settings, before it can be put in place to expand the network.

  Temporarily, to locate the 2nd Gen airport near the new AirPort Extreme

  Turn on the 2nd Gen airport a few minutes

  Then hold down the reset button on the back of the airport for 5 to 6 seconds then release

  Allow a minute for the airport restart to a slow, flashing amber light status

  

  Now click the WiFi icon at the top of your Mac.

  Look for an announcement of the new AirPort base station

  Click on AirPort Extreme, just below this list

  

  Who will get the "Wizard" configuration running. It will take a few seconds to display a screen that looks like this, except that you can see your devices and the network name.

  Type a name you want to call the 2nd Gen airport

  Click next

  Turn about your Airport Extreme for 15 seconds and then power back on. As soon as you see the green light, you should be able to see him for a minute or two in the Airport utility.   If you are using an AirPort Express station with a 3rd party wireless router, the 'Join a wireless network' option should appear automatically when you start the installation program "Assistant".  In the example below, the Express will be configured to join a Uverse wireless network.

  

  Well that "Client Mode" is never mentioned anywhere in 6.x or 5.x, AirPort utility when the Express is set up to "join" to a network, it is in client mode.  Apple's not exactly makes very clear.

  You may not, but the other Options button down, bottom left of the window in the example above. Choose the option 'Add to an existing network' if the Setup screen does not suggest firstly that the Express will be set to 'join' the network.

The model number starts with an 'A' follow-up of four digits. Please post back this information.

  (3) what version of AirPort Express you have?  Please look for the model number on the side of the Express.   Sorry, but no.  More than 3 years ago, Apple has removed 20 + useful features and options of AirPort Utility.

  If you still have an old Mac running Leopard (10.5.x) or Snow Leopard (10.6.x), you might be able to use it to look for options of 'missing '.  A PC with the AirPort 5.6.1 for Windows utility may work as well.

  If you reset the Time Capsule (TC) properly holding the reset for 7-8 seconds button, releasing one allowing a full minute of the CT to restart... and... "or have a connection by Ethernet cable from your modem to the WAN" O "port on the TC... then the AirPort Utility will not 'see' the TC again until you put up again.

  To do this, you click the WiFi icon at the top of the screen of the Mac and are looking for a list of the new AirPort base station. Just below this list, you would click on Time Capsule to get the 'Assistant' Installation running.  The example below shows an AirPort Extreme as the new device, but you will see Time Capsule on your screen.

  Hello

  I try to configure my Airport Express A1262 with firmware 7.6.4 (AE) as a Basic airplay for my stereo.

  It is connected by wifi through my Netgear router C6250 (NR) acting as internet router and wifi base by 'join them a wireless network' in the Airport utility (AU). I have reset several times and it seems to work. I work from the retina Macbook 15 "from 2012. Everything is updated.

  BUT after some time AE drops connection or I can't see trying to airplay on my iTunes. The light on AX is green but is NOT connected to the AU?

  When I reboot, reset or do all configurations that this error persists thereafter.

  NR is a fixed channel with WPA2-PSK security. I tried the auto channels previously but selected fixed for the problems that I have read that might help. I tried both 2.4 and 5 ghz network configurations.

  Can someone help me make a stable connection with AE and at THE?

  THA A1264 Express is probably at least 4 years and as much as almost 8.

  Average life of this model of the Express was, on average, about 4 years. So maybe it's something to think about here.

  When the internal power supply begins to head downhill, there will be a few drops momentary resulting in an interruption of the connection. As the power continues to head South, the drops will increase in frequency.

  If you have reset the Express back to default settings and set up again, there's really nothing more you can do.

  A test, you can try an Ethernet connection between your main router and the AirPort Express to eliminate the possibility of wireless interference creating the loss of connection.  If the connection drops go further by using Ethernet, then you know you have a problem of wireless interference.

  If the connection drops continue with wired Ethernet, then confirming well enough that you have an Express which is on its last breath.

• Airport utility cannot find Time Capsule

  Airport utility can't find my Time Capsule.

  I tried to reset (factory settings) several times and then reconfigure TC.

  Here are my suggestions...

  Start from a factory reset. No files are lost on the drive hard in doing so.

  Universal factory reset

  Turning off the TC... That is, remove the power supply cord or the power at the wall outlet, wait 10 seconds... Hold the reset button... be nice... Turn on always even now in reset... and keep holding in for another 10 seconds. You may need assistance because it is difficult to hold in reset and power on.   However the names are not so easy as... the IP address nor reliable. They are not at least not in Yosemite. The field can also be a problem if you are not clogged or wireless directly to the Treasury Board.

  6. ensure that IPv6 is set to link-local only in the computer. For example wireless open network, wireless and Advanced preferences / TCP/IP... and the difficulty of IPv6. link-local only. Do the same for the ethernet if you use it.

  Connect an Ethernet cable from your Mac alternative to one of the three LAN ports Ethernet on the Time Capsule <-->.

  Disable WiFi on Mac

  Restart the Mac.

  Power off of the CAP in time for a few seconds, then power it back up

  See if the Mac can connect and 'see' the time Capsule AirPort utility so that you can get things fixed with WiFi

  If still no luck, you will need to perform a default factory reset on the Time Capsule, and then set up again.
