AirPrint in hotels

I intend to buy a HP AirPrint compatible for use with my IPad. Is the printer works with the IPad using the Hotels wireless network? If so, are there special configuration issues to deal with?

Thanks for any help.

I don't have an iPad then go on what I could find online. It seems that the iPad is not able to connect via USB to a printer.

  • Not an Airprint printer can be configured with a new Macbook Air?

Recently purchased a new Macbook Air.   Can it be configured with an older printer on our WiFi network that has no Airprint?

Sure. At the end of the day, COMMAND + P (or CTRL + P in Windows) always sends this same basic command PRINT to the default printer. Any printer that is.

The only problem is the printer driver software. If the manufacturer of the printer has written a driver that works with MacBook Air, download it, install it and make your old default printer.

  • AirPrint not seeing HP wireless printers

After the upgrade to iOS 9.x would not print my iPad and iPhone on the network home.  I uninstalled printers one re-installed. I rebooted the router and printers. Always Airprint could not locate the HP printers. Help appreciated

    Hello GT - LR.

I understand that you are no longer able to print your wireless printers are connected to your home network. The steps below can help to restore your ability to print successfully from your iOS devices involved printers.

Check these things if you are unable to print, or if you see the message "No AirPrint Printers Found."

    • On your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, check that your device uses the latest available IOS and the app that you print from is up to date.
    • On your Mac, use software update to update the Mac operating system and the applications that you have purchased from the Mac App Store.
    • Check with the manufacturer of your printer to see if the firmware updates are available for your printer model.
    • You can connect an AirPrint device to your network, either by bypass surgery or a direct connection to your Wi - Fi network.
    • AirPrint devices connected to the USB port on the Apple AirPort base station or Time Capsule AirPort use AirPrint. If your printer includes AirPrint, connect it directly to your Wi - Fi network or Ethernet LAN port on your Base Station to print wireless.
    • After turning on your printer, wait a few moments before trying to print. Some printers may take a minute or two after power to join your network.

  • Without wifi, cellular service or hotspot: is there a way to print to a printer AirPrint from iPad?

    Hello

I travel a bit and I'm looking for the ideal iPad/AirPrint printer installation. In some places, wifi is unstable or not supplied. Cellular service may be non-existent. I have an iPhone that has no personal hotspot capabilities, but without cell service, I can't create a direct connection to the printer. I could go outside to get cellular service, but this would require moving with my printer and find an outlet for the printer.

Without wifi, cellular service or a personal hotspot, is possible to print from an iPad on an AirPrint printer?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes. A number of printers can create their own special WiFi networks. I know that HP makes a few of them. I'm sure there are others available.

  • question of AirPrint

    Hi people,

first of all thanks to everyone will try and help me. I have a problem with my printer HP airprint. Everything used to work like a charm until yesterday. I had to buy a new modem, and I chose a dlinkgo of link GO-DSL-AC750 Modem-Router ADSL Wireless AC 750 Mbps Dual-Band.

Internet works fine but my printer and my macbook air can no longer communicate. Sometimes it seems to work, so I add my printer to my list of empty printer. No matter what I do after I restart my mac that does not have the printer and the scanner cannot be joined. I was wondering what is work here and if anyone has experienced something similar. Thanks again,

    Marco

The publication of the printer on the network relies on a protocol called Hello. This is responsible for the display of the printer in the default view of the window add a printer. Since you do not see the printer, then it suggests that you have a problem with Hello. To verify that you can activate the Safari to act as a browser of Hello. To do this, open Safari and then preferences. On the Advanced tab, you will see an entry Hello and the possibility to choose to have the Hello in the bookmarks bar or bookmarks menu. Select the bookmarks menu and then close the preferences window. Now, if you click on the bookmarks menu, you will see an entry of Hello and if you select this option the printer must be included. Do you see it?

  • Improved connected IPad Windows10 private WiFi network w/AirPrint printer. Bluetooth is disabled. Try to print an e-mail, the IPad can't see printer. Android phone works wirelessly with the printer.

IPad on the same wireless network private Wi ' Fi as computer windows 10, Android phone and Samsung printer airprint. Blue tooth is disabled. Can I wireless print with Android mobile phone, but not with the IPad... suggestions.

Have you tried to reboot your router? Unplug it, count to 10, plug back in and let it boot and see if she sees the printer now. You might also want to disconnect/reconnect your printer, leave everything to make a new connection.

You can also force your iPad to restart. Hold down the button sleep and home for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver Apple, let go and let it restart.

  • Need help, troubleshooting a LAN hotel (captive portal)

This problem is not specific to Firefox, but I'm trying to see how I can use Firefox debugging features to solve a network problem. I stay in a hotel in China that uses a so-called "captive portal" to authenticate individuals before using the network. (This means that his first action navigation is redirected to the web page of the hotel for entering login information - as is often done in cafes, etc.). Using my own laptop, the redirect works if I use wifi and fails if I use the network cable (Firefox and IE both give the same result). I want my PC to work in both cases (and, in fact, it worked the day before by using a network cable to another location in the same hotel chain, which also uses what seems to be the same system of redirection). The hotel staff showed me that a PC provided by the hotel will work with the cable. So from their point of view, something is wrong with my PC, and from my point of view, something is wrong with their network. I need to know who he is.

I enabled HTTP logging in Firefox on my PC. I noticed a cycle of GET requests where a URL has been hardcoded URL several times (so ':' becomes '% 3A', which becomes 'a 253% ', then '% 25253A', etc.). For GET requests get longer before reaching a limit, I guess... the end result being an error '400' ('bad request'). Because their servers are initially redirects, I can only assume they have a bug causing this repetitive URL encoding. But, mysteriously, the PC provided by the hotel does not have the problem (and neither does my PC when using wifi). As far as I know, Firefox and IE both fail in case of failure, and both are successful in the case of success, then I do not suspect the browser.

My goal is to fix my system (if that is where the fault lies) or show the hotel staff which is the fault in their network (by demonstrating that the fault can occur even without my PC being involved). Effort on the PC provided by the hotel of troubleshooting is limited by the fact that, once authentication succeeds, I can't induce it expires, so I can't experiment a lot with the mechanism of redirection using this PC. Any ideas?

Try this: go to your Control Panel then network and sharing Center then click on change settings card on the left side. Right click on your Ethernet-> properties, and then select internet protocol version 4-> properties and click on obtain an ip address automatically and obtain dns server automatically.

  • Connect a printer non-airprint for the Airport express

Can I use an express train from the airport as a stand-alone wireless network to allow printing from an IOS device.  I want to connect an AirPrint not printer to the usb port on the Express with no ethernet cable is connected and so no internet and use it as a printer from an IPhone?

    My main questions are

    1. a no AirPrint printer allows printing from IOS using the Airport Express Terminal

    2. If so, the Airport express can not be connected to the internet?

    Thanks in advance.

    1. a no AirPrint printer allows printing from IOS using the Airport Express Terminal

Actually, no. Connect a non-AirPrint printer to the USB port on the base station will NOT make it capable AirPrint. In order to print from a device iOS on this printer, you need to a third party (such as the Printopia) application running on a Mac.

    2. If so, the Airport express can not be connected to the internet?

Function of the Express print server does not have Internet access at work. In other words, you can have the Express create a local wireless network, connect a USB printer and share the printer on the LAN. However, yet again, if the printer is capable non-AirPrint, iOS devices will not be able to print directly to it.

More than likely, the hotel wireless network is set up as a "network of comments" for reasons of security. This means no device connected on the network can see or communicate with another device on the network, only the devices outside the network (e.g. Internet).

It is a pretty standard practice. To do otherwise would be a security nightmare for anyone connecting to the network.

  • iPad, ask for password for airprint

I have a HP5525 all in one. I have print via airprint from my iPad quite happy. I select the printer page Wi Fi on my iPad (HP-printing-BEING-Deskjet 5520).

    Pete price

    Hi Pete,.

I think I can have picked you up wrong the first time. There are 2 ways of printing using Airprint.

    (1) connect the printer and your iPad on the same network

    2) Wi - Fi Direct - this uses the printer that the router if you connect your device directly to the printer. In this case you would be asked for the password (it would be to warn all those who are in the range that is able to use your printer). If this is the case and you are using a Wi - Fi Direct connection, you can get your password by following the steps here http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03353113.pdf the part of interest will point at the top of the page 33 2

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600, more than 8600: Airprint loses connection

After turning on the printer, I can use airprint on Mac or iPad for 1 minute about. Then the connection is lost.

Printer is NOT in the list of Apple airprint more.

HP working on a solution, or I change something?

Hey @phterhorst, welcome to the Forums of HP!

I'd love to help you with your JO 8600. I understand your description that you are only able to print using the AirPrint feature for about a minute then the printer is no longer available. It seems to me like a problem with the network connection between the router and the printer. Please first take a look at the document following and well it works sometimes and you can't see a message as mentioned here, the steps can help: what to do if you see a "No AirPrint Printers Found" message on my Apple device? What happens if I experience problems when I try to use AirPrint?

If the problem persists, in order to isolate the root cause of the problem is the router or not, I recommend allowing the direct wireless and put your devices on the network printer. This isn't my proposed solution, just a test to see if the devices maintain a connection when we eliminate the router. Here is some information on Direct wireless and how to connect with this method.

Let me know how it goes. If the original document of AirPrint helps you solve the problem, please be sure to mark your post as solved by clicking on the accept button Solution below.

I recently bought a PhotoSmart 5524 printer to go with a new iPad AirPrint will however not see the printer and HP ePrint will only print the pictures otherwise I get the "Oops, something went wrong, please try again" error message.

Please help because it makes me crazy.

    Thank you.

    Thank you.

The only reference I can find for this router will show TalkTalk, so I guess it's done specially for them.  Anyuway, according to the forum of TalkTalk, there's an updated firmware available for your fix.  Usually, when firmware updates are "pushed" to the routers, all you need to do is power of the router and turn it back on so he can install it.  There may also be a way to have control of router for updates.  I don't know how it works in your case, so I would contact them for assistance.

Here is a link to the thread of TalkTalk: http://community.talktalk.co.uk/t5/Unlimited-Broadband/DSL-3780-and-AirPrint-HP-Deskjet-3050A-Wireless-Printer/m-p/947696

AirPrint is not working since 9.3.1 what airprint update - not found.  tried the suggestion of JimHdk, who worked for a single document. any suggestions

Since we do not know what may have suggested to Jim, power cycle your router and the printer and force restart the iPad. Unplug the router and the printer power for 30 seconds. Plug in the router first and let it restart. And then reconnect the printer power supply. Then force restart the iPad. To force the reboot your device, press and hold the two buttons of sleep/wake and home for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
