  Akamai don't come right out and say, but the reason that netsession is installed on your computer is to allow them to use your computer to 'upstream' content to other users.  By installing NetSession, you allow Akamai use your idle bandwidth to transfer files to other users of Akamai.

  They say that NetSession will use your computer when it is "inactive or use minimum network resources.".  This means that NetSession is constantly monitor your use of the network and transmit this information to Akamai.  And as bandwidth varies from second to second, this info should be sent upwards to Akamai a lot.  Wait a minute, didn't they say just they captured only the kind of info that capture web servers?  Web servers capture information about the use of bandwidth.  What other information Akamai capture?  I couldn't find details on their site.

  So if you install NetSession, you be to join a peer-to-peer network and allowing Akamai send files from your computer at the time as Akamai may use you your minimum bandwidth.

  I also have a problem of security on the files I get the NetSession.  It seems that it is not difficult to download a file using NetSession, change it to carry a load of viruses and then leave the computer idle and wait NetSession transmit the file infected others NetSession.  I hope that Akamai has taken measures to address this problem, but I can't find any information on it.

  FYI cloud is a virus suspicsious that block Norton and McFee TIMES.

  I have two WAEs (software version 5.5.7 b10) and I'm doing some tests with Akamai Connect.

  I see in the domestic traffic HTTP of WAE accelerated with approved ID field empty. For me, this means that Akamai accelerates this traffic, correct? But I am not able to see HTTPS traffic is accelerated (screen attached 2.png)

  I did another test by creating a static route in router branch for an IP address to my router base (route ip 173.236.246.150 255.255.255.255 10.8.3.3). With this specific IP address, I see HTTPS traffic in fast motion, but I see in peer ID WAE kernel. For me, this means that WAAS accelerates correct not Akamai, and HTTPS traffic? (screen attached 1.png)

  I see a lot of mager as "PT underway" HTTPS traffic. I understand that this is because branch WAE can not find core WAE. But, why he does not like HTTP, which is being accelerated in spite of it?

• Akamai netsession does not install

  I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit.   PC is clean of spyware and viruses, relatively new facility.   Tried installing Akamai Netsession but just installer stops immediately and says "Incomplete Installation - restart to try again".   Restarting does nothing, but give the same error message.   He apparently tried to install something, because he has put a partial data in a folder user/appdata/local/Akamai.

  I tried as admin and in compatibility mode - did not work

  I tried to disable the windows firewall and antivirus - did not work

  I deleted all the physical files of Akamai, files and reg entries - did not work

  Open to suggestions, there doesn't seem to be much info on Google, and there are exactly 0 help page of Akamai.

  Akamai Download Manager is / is not necessary for all download Adobe.  It has been used (by default) for the older downloads adobe but can still be circumvented by opting for direct download.

  I have a PC 64 bit Windows 7 Pro, and I am trying to download a trial version of presenter Video Express 11.

  I followed all the instructions and each piece of advice on this forum, and nothing has worked.

  I uninstalled Akamai about 15 times and tried again and again with different parameters.

  Akamai Download Manager installs correctly (apparently) on my PC, but he put the shortcut on my desktop and it never resumes the download.

  Please do not paste links to the help documentation for troubleshooting three. I have lived all three, and I've tried everything.

  I used Adobe Captivate in the past without problem and need to download version 9 to introduce the software to a new team, I am managing

  I have correctly installed the Akami Download Manager and attempted to start the download for trial.  Opens the window of the Manager, but the two files to download are simply "waiting" without other links, options, or features available. It is as if it is frozen.

  I worked in the Locksmiths for "download trial" and "Download Akami Manager" himself without success.

  My system specs are suitable, using IE11 for download, on a line hard, cache/pop up and extremely lax security settings... Nothing works.

  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Download Manager and tried to restart the trial a dozen times download (for which I don't even have a welcome email indicating me that time runs on the trial), but every time, it's the same story.
