Alienware 14 locked

My alienware recently updated to 8.1, and when I restarted it, it made me enter my information just as it did when I first bought. But after I logged, nothing has shown up on my desk, I realize now that he made an account with my namesake, but don't give me any permissions of Directors, and for some reason I can't change users and everytime I try to change, nothing will happen, she also always says : no mapping between account names and security IDS was done.

Can someone please?

Try Safe Mode. Connection with that you have the password.

If you don't have software support with Dell, you might be able to call Microsoft. Be nice and explain the situation... I bet they will help you.

My former of alienware m15x has worked for a long time and recently a program I was running in order to respond and did not close so I shut down my computer and went to look for a snack or something, I'm back with her already turned on but I never turned it on and everything worked out of the screen, it was black and white , but I was actually on the logon screen, do what most people would of done, I rebooted my laptop this time stay in front of her and to my surprise, something that has never happened before, the laptop has attempted to start, the sound of the startup sound knew no more, sounded different and then he moved slowly This has never happened before, and out of nowhere, the 3 locks lights were flashing, at first I thought it was normal until I did some research and discovered it means something, that concerns me a lot, my lights flashed in a sequence of all 3 locks at the same time, so big all the lock 3 lights were flashing at the same time all together. Anyway I tried some things, but none worked, advice? I would really like to help, oh, and there is no warranty left. in any case who all read this thank you very much.

We're actually after looking into it more and try things, something worked, all I had to do was take off the rear housing of the laptop (even if it is off) and take small battery out for about 5 to 10 minutes, put it back in then it clogs and hope for the best, luckily for me it worked. My dad previously owned the laptop and when he bought it was broken (motherboard) and when he was broken it does exactly the thing mine did recently, maybe his old motherboard just needs a reset of the bios (removal of the battery for a while). anyway thanks for the advice and help. :)

  • Alienware 17 R3 Noble port lock agreeing only not Noble lock CW114

Trying to figure out if there is a problem with the lock or the port of advice or a help appreciated.

    Hi ILSON.,.

Is the location badly aligned or damaged?

Try another if possible lock of the same model and check.

You need to like this - http://dell.to/2cyjdZW

I'd suggest, if possible carry your system at a local store and check a lock appropriate before making the purchase.

If none of the pockets to insert into the slot, then send me the exact lock models you have tested and we'll research more far.

  • Alienware 15 R2: Move OS to SSD

    Hello!

I really hope that there is someone here who can help you as I struggled for days with that.  I just bought an Alienware 15 R2 with a 1 TB HARD drive and a 1 TB SSD.

When I got to the machine (and after virtually all my stufff) I realized that for reasons that I can't just begin to understand the operating system has been installed on the HARD drive and not on the SSD.

I tried mainly to use the USB stick recovery alienware to do a fresh install, but I can't get the OS on the SSD.

In the BIOS drives looks like this

Fixed HDD HGST HTS721010 (1000 GB)
    Second HARD drive no
    Third HARD drive no
    M.2 PM951 is 1024 GB Samsung SSD-1

However, the SSD is not available as an option in the boot (even when you select Legacy) menu.  I tried of pwd protect the HARD drive and to deliberately enter the wrong pwd 3 times to lock, then start with the Alienware USB key recovery.  But when I try to install the OS it will return the error "a required disk partition is missing."

Please, please, if someone can advise I would be very grateful, because it makes me crazy.  Have the operating system on the HARD drive and leaving the much faster SSD for any storage of files on makes no sense at all.

    Thank you!

    Charlie

After weeks of frustration, I finally managed to get the start-up of the SSD.  I could not initialize the disk with Partition of AOMEI Deputy.  After much fiddling around, however, I was finally able to make an exact copy of the HDD to the SSD with AOMEI PA and then all of a sudden the SSD starts.  I had tried another disc copy programs without success but with AOMEI it finally worked.  When the SSD finally start, it was easy to do a clean install of Win10 on the partition of win.  My Alienware15 is now 16 seconds to start password Win, rather 3 or 4 minutes before...

Thank you all for a helping hand and a specific thanks to CHERRYS2 for the tip of AOMEI PA!

  • How to reinstall a Windows 8 dell alienware aurora r4 to factory settings?

A friend of mine had his PC scammed (guy calls, said you that they are Microsoft and you are infected, enter your PC and then you lock out and ask $ money to let you back in).

Anyway, he has a PC Dell Alienware Aurora R4 (comes with) running Windows 8 or 8.1 - I don't know but I know that he has not improved/changed anything. The system came with a DVD resource (nothing else).

Now all we want to do is to restore factory default, there is nothing about this of any importance to save...

I looked on the internet and found what looks like the right solution:

-Enter advanced service options (holding shift at the start), select "troubleshooting."
    > "Icon Dell Backup and Recovery" is missing (how could it be?

    Without that, I'm totally stuck...
    Any suggestions? Recommendations? Ideas?

    Thank you

After that a clean installation of Windows and the drivers of Dell system, Dell backup and restoration facility will create a new recovery partition of your own installation that you can restore as new factory settings.

  • Alienware X 51 A3 gel - repeatable

    News (4 days) X 51 R3, overclocked / liquid cooling, core i7, win10.

Gel in this situation is the complete blocking.  No blue screen, two screens displaying still no activity impossible ping system from another system, hard disk, any movement of the mouse, no response from capslock, Wallpapers.  No newspaper eventvwr, after the reboot entry errors.

Unable to get system will probably crash right when the selected tests of diagnosis based on a browser reaches State "Getting diagnosis" in the progress bar.  Repeatable, did four times in a row to boot, with nothing else running but the browser.

A bios test ePSA, who spent - a well run test of memory proposed 6hr.

    Misc notes:

    • This happens in any mode windows power
    • in symmetric mode, the frequency of the processor jumps to 4 GHz (as shown in OCControls, and/or Intel UERX alienware) just before freeze
    • LC fan also turns upward a bit before freezing.

Google and hit Alienware support docs already, waiting on phone support as I write this.

    Does anyone else know this?

ATTENTION: Drive Booster 3 handle Advanced System Care if you do not uncheck on page load. Advanced care system freezes a lot of computers X 51 - R3 so you will have to reinstall Windows 10. Drive Booster 3 loads and runs without problem.

Also have a X 51 R3 since December 2015. I had this problem lots and lots of times. I can't run an anti-virus except windows Defender program or my computer starts to lock up. These 3 programs I helped.

You can download all three of free Majorgeeks.com. (1) booster car Iobit 3 update all your drivers. (2) SFC Fix.exe is the same linking SFC/scannow CMD as administrator. but easier. (3) and the best program you download never repair-windows - Tweaking.com. He can fix anything. Be sure to run from safe mode. There is a button that asked me if you what to boot from safe mode. Also run Option 2 "Pre Scan". .

My computer would be blocking when I tried to help load carrier, but I could go to the AW command center and press the Support help and he would go. Never found errors on the test.

I think that all my problems were not of hardware and software.  I hope this helps.

  • Alienware 17 R3 - external monitor (HDMI) - Netflix

    Hi all

I'm having a problem with the Windows 10 Netflix app (and the problem also occurs when you try to use Netflix via Microsoft Edge) in which case the video will not display on my second monitor. I use an ASUS monitor connected via the HDMI port.

You can hear the audio, but you can't see the video, unless you drag the app to the laptop screen. It of like if she displayed using the integrated Intel graphics card, but will not video with this app for the NVidia card. You can even change the application configuration to use the NVidia card in the NVidia Control Panel. It is locked to the integrated graphics chip.

If you run Netflix through Google Chrome, it works very well and you can see the video perfectly on the screen.

I contacted Netflix with no response, so I'm hoping to get some sort of answer from Dell and I hope this can be resolved with some kind of hotfix or, potentially, an update of the BIOS if necessary. I don't think I'm the only one with this problem, I don't see anywhere that it has been reported.

If anyone has had this problem (be it with Netflix or another application) please let me know if you managed to solve the problem, and if not, could someone from Dell please help with this as not being able to watch Netflix through the Windows 10 app is extremely frustrating. It is the only way to watch movies in 1080 p. 1080 p is not supported in Google Chrome via the site Web of Netflix.

Let me know if you need additional information.

    Kind regards.

I would like to add that I have also exactly the same problem with the Alienware 17 R3 using the HDMI output to an external monitor.  In fact, I'm surprised it's not more widely reported.

It seems that Netflix links itself to one of the graphics cards only.  So, if Netflix feeds to integrate graphics then that's all it can produce its video to.  And, as you pointed out, Netflix is locked to the graphics chip built into the Nvidia Control Panel.

I could force a little to work by disabling the Intel HD Graphics graphics card in Device Manager - essentially forcing Netflix through the Nvidia card.  This enabled the video to display on the TV, but he doesn't really act too well when made this way (the task bar won't go away to start!)

I was trying to see if there was a way to have instead of the HDMI output through the onboard graphics in place, but no could not see such an option to achieve this-looks like the HDMI going directly into the Nvidia card and bypasses the overall, integrated graphics card, unless I'm missing something?

It's really a pretty annoying problem because it is indeed the only way to get the 1080 p content.  And for me, that's the only way for me to get content with a surround sound (via my headphone surround sound) to my 1080 p TV.  So for now, my options are either use the Netflix app on my TV to get 1080 p video with stereo audio, or use my laptop to get 720 p video with audio 5.1.  Sigh...

  • Alienware Aurora computer R4 crashing all playing

My computer crashes apparently randomly when I play games and occasionally during video playback, but it is not happened in a while. It can be planted anywhere from 5 minutes to hours after I started playing, but it seems to hang more during games that are more intensive graphics such as Thunder or Verdun war while it only sometimes freezes in games such as Victoria 2. When the computer crashes, the screen displays a screen saying that no entries are being received and the computer is unresponsive, in that the keypad does not illuminate when you press caps lock. He is unresponsive to Ctrl + Alt + Del or Alt + Tab. The only solution I have found so far is to restart the computer completely. Run the Dell Diagnostics, the only problem is that video card(s?) has failed the test of primary surface with WVC07-LUV error code. I already tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers as well as to experiment with different monitors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Misfortunes of cooling water Alienware R4

So for about 3-4 months, I noticed my die thermal processor reach 90 + degrees all in now under TJMax is about 100 to no question. About five days ago, but it reached 100 degrees on number of 4 core which in turn emitted warnings as FPS in games at 15 frames per second due to the CPU wouldn't be able to follow and closed moment offs are grateful for the cpu so I don't burn out.

Then I studied the cooler (Closed Loop does not mean that you can not open it) and found the dough next thermal was non-existent. In loops and locking in the radiator which had to be cleaned. Empty all the liquid cooling plant and put in the water (freshly) distilled and cleaned with Iso alcohol. Thermal put stick on again and finished. I put it back on, screwed everything in. For about 30 seconds, temp where 60 degrees. Then when I opened the steam and launched CS GO to a load almost test. The temperature soared to 90/90/100/100 and windows became lethargic and off automatically.

I read people open their cooler without problem, and with other materials of people, in my view, it is possible to do and put it back, so

    What I've done wrong?

Here's a good overview of the Aurora R4 / Asetek Premium cooler, dp/n 01YGW. It is an upgrade for all other coolers of short alienware the new Area-51. It's a 38mm wide vs radiator our old coolers that are 25 mm wide, it holds more coolant = superior cooling, as well as of several metals, area to act as an additional heater. It has a copper vs base Aurora-based standard aluminum, where copper is a higher thermal material in aluminium. The pump can run faster because, well I think I've read. It is a direct replacement for the standard R4 cooler, so the bolt holes should be the same. That must be true for R1, R2, R3 since this cooler takes the same 120mm fan, & the cooler accepts a fan 120mm on each side of himself, so the bolt holes should not be a problem & must be of type "universal" 120mm. It turns out to be 1/8 inch (3mm) tall, so it needs 1/16th of an inch more room up-down when focused in its place of installation.

Asetek converts this cooler. Dell would make $205 for a new, but yes, STS-parts for about $ 50, w/photos of what your could resemble the delivery. Reference Dell & m are both in Round Rock, Texas--> STS gets "next to" parts of Dell, as these coolers. They come w / a R4 2011 socket retention ring. However, I was able to reuse my x 58 socket 1366 (Area 51 R1 R1 & Aurora only) ring of retention on mine. R1 R2 R3 owners will reuse their retention of stock rings, but when in doubt, Asetek sells rings of retention of Intel that fits 01YGW, here's their eBay store:

    @Tesla

I'm glad that STS you picked a winner. As you say, he sent you a socket ring 2011; for your R1, re - simply use your ring in 1366. Below, all my furrows line up between premium & my ring 1366:

Yes he has the same 7-pin plug up in the band of light for power-field-rpm & CmndCntr can see it.

They you also supplied a standard stock fan, which is 38 mm wide. On your original cooler, which is 25 mm wide & you have a fan of 38mm, total about 63 mm or approximately 2.5 "rad-fan intruded in your case, your 'space '. The new premium cooler will be 38 mm wide + fan 38 mm = 76 mm or 3 ", so the new part is going to encroach on your system only on another 1/2". To return to the same footprint in your case, simply remove the 38mm fan, they gave you & try a 25mm pwm fan, to return to a footprint 63 mm/2.5 "in your case.

This premium cooler is the same width as the h80i, in order to push - pull, try a pair of pwm 120 mm x 25 mm fan w/a fan derivation of course, where you then an imprint of 88 mm / 3.5 "in the case."

By your question, this cooler R4 will work in your R1; Asetek has done what they call low profile coolers. We know they make coolers for about 3-4 other companies & appropriating the brand too. Their retention rings works on all their low-profile including our AlienCoolers coolers. Your low-profile 1366 retention ring meant for your original R1 slim line cooler is compatible w / the new R4 bonus 'low - profile' cooler. Type in some time & make the announcement.

I'm the 1st guy I know to put one in R1 Area-51, where I simply traded a 5pin top instead of the 7 pins. I prefer to continue to use AlienCoolers on say a type of Corsair, & I would rather buy a used STS premium & really buy a pair of them, take one as a spare, knowing it'll plug right in, no fuss no muss, stay original, keep the alien icon & corresponds to a h80i cooling performance. $ 205, double what it's worth, Dell price does us all off, but fortunately STS not.

01YGW is bigger than my A-51 w550r about 1/8 in. (3mm) cooler or 1/16th of an inch at each end

  • Alienware 14 blocking up

    Alienware Hello community,

I have a 14 Alienware gaming laptop and have a real problem. It doesn't seem to have an impact on the performance of the wise system but is disturbing. My system keeps locking up when I start the system. Only, it happens once a start-up but worry. Also, when it crashes the fan in the back starts to blast at full speed, then stops. I have a cooling block so I don't think overheating is the problem, mainly because it happens outside the game. It takes about 10-15 seconds. Here are my specs.

    4 generation intel core i5 processor 4200 m 2.5 ghz

    NIVIDIA GenForce GT 750 m

    8 GB RAM

Thank you very much in advance and any help will be appreciated! :)

Check if SupportAssist is installed. If this is the case, remove all instances of SupportAssist and SupportAssist Agent. Why we have not received an updated version that is automatically updated, and this one is not shot is beyond me. A lot of people have had this problem, which I am part, and it does not have the fix.

  • Alienware 17 4 beeps on startup when upgrading from memory...

    Hello

I just got my new Alienware 17... When installing a SSD, I noticed that the locations of two memory under the lid without sticks in them so thought that I would upgrade it stock 8 GB to 16 GB of RAM, flipping the rear unit above and turn immediately got a 4 beep error code which I assume is a memory error?

Transformed and more and I tried a stick at a time in both slots and got the same problem.

Now I disconnect the battery when you install the SSD drive and every time I removed and added memory (I see this new design, causing some ESD melt downs that you do not have to remove the battery... anyway, I digress) which leaves me to suspect that there is some sort of lock BIOS or hardware that prevent me from adding additional memory?

Oh and we don't know good memory that I took the Hynix memory of my Alienware M17X R4, similar marked DELL Alienware 17 and she didn't...

Help, any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated, or perhaps a BIOS update to solve this... ?

I have improved my 18 Alienware who had 32 GB of 1600 MHz. 1.35v Micron RAM 32 GB Kingston HyperX 1866 MHz 1.35v RAM. After all, first install the RAM and turning on my laptop, I got these 4 beeps as well and I thought that maybe the RAM is not compatible or something but then I got just the power button for 5 seconds to force the shutdown of the laptop and then power back on then it worked well and have been using it like that for nearly 8 months. I suggest that you try to force the system to stop, and then walk back and try.

Note: I use the last A10 BIOS

  • Reminders do not display or stick to the lock screen in iOS10

IOS10 (10.0.1 and 10.0.2), on an iPhone (I use an iPhone 6), reminders are no longer reliable. I had several cases where the callback doesn't show even on the screen lock and many more times when the recall won't 'glue' to screen lock for more than a short period. Before iOS10, when you said to remind you at a certain time or place, the recall would display on the reliable lock screen until she has been marked as "completed".

It is a major issue for people who depend on the application for the important tasks and calendar. There is a thread of any discussion on this point, for some reason, has been marked as "solved" even if a large number of people continues to post telling him that there is a problem for them too (as the thread located here). I wanted to start this new discussion which we hope will remain open until it is effectively resolved.

Thank you!!! This is a HUGE problem!

Since the update I had to reboot my phone EVERY day.

Is the stick of reminders... or they do not. Lately they don't yet show upward. Then other things stick to the lock screen can't get rid of.

Currently this feature on the phone is USELESS

  • Chinese characters in the lock screen

I recently updated to iOS 10 and shortly after started to see Chinese characters on my lock screen, under the date and time. I checked the language and region settings and see only English and selected Philippines which is correct. Don't know what that other settings I need to change? I also tried to change my lock screen and the same characters are still there.

    Thank you
