  In my opinion, you should check the cooling options in Windows power management. Make sure that it s set for maximum Performance. This means that your laptop will be cooled as much as possible.

  Can someone help me? Game's WarBirds 2.77r (www.wbfree.net), the original platform was win98 / me. My game crashes when I try to change planes. I use to have the same problem when first tried to play in XP, but it was easy to fix - I had to untick the box in "display properties-> Effects-> use transition effects.

  I have problems with games crashing on my windows XP system (other programs seem ok).  This is particularly evident with Company of Heroes, but occurs with other games as well (for example Dragon Age).  Sometimes, the program quits just (with error); more often, I get the BSOD, or another complete system crashes.  It didn't happen when the system is new (it might be 2 years old now), but it's happened for the last year or two.

  Interestingly, if I do a reboot of my system just before play and then do not run other programs before you start the game, so I tend not not to have problems for the entire game session.  If the computer has been running for awhile before you start the game, then I can reliable wait an accident at some point in the first 30 minutes or so.  This suggests that the PSU or heat are not the problem here.

  I wonder if my sound card is the culprit - a version of the value of the sound blaster audigy 2 and while the drivers are current, creative labs has not issued a new driver for this card in a few years now.  Other drivers (video, bios, DX9, etc.) are completely up to date.  I use a processor intel E6850 dual core chip + NVIDIA 8800GTS 512, btw.

  Any idea would be appreciated.

  Thanks for the suggestions.  In the end, I realized that my BIOS has been on the side of old, so I've updated that and also updated the driver for the NVIDIA network, which was also old Bus Enumerator (I went through all the entries in looking for drivers device manager who had available updates when I used the update button the pilot).

  should fall if high temperatures are due to poor circulation of air in the case.

  If they do not fall, reapply new thermal paste for the cpu can help, but an aftermarket cooler

  would also be a good addition, if you are not already using one.

  It is also possible that the speed profile of the fan for the cpu and the gpu are too shallow (assuming that you are not running

  the fan to the cpu at 100% all the time), but this cause normally only fan speeds for up and down a lot and should not result in a heat block. When you are not running the cpu at 100% fan, using a fan speed profile steep is recommended with a gaming machine, anyway.

  From a fan profile approximately 50 + % and bump the speed a little will it keep cooler processors of the appearance and helps keep the fan accelerates cycling continuously up to 100% and down to a lower speed, as often happens with factory fan speed profiles. A good cooler and a profile of fan speed should keep the processor under the temp that requires 100% fan speed.
