All hard drives show $RECYCLE. BIN & System Volume Information, is this normal?

Nice day

I would like to know if it is normal that all of my internal and external drives to have $RECYCLE. BIN and System Volume Information? I have them has not noticed it before, it became evident yesterday when I used my friends laptop drive. Now all internal and external hard drives connected to my PC suddenly have this $RECYCLE. BIN and System Volume Information.

Is this a virus? Cause every time I delete the $RECYCLE. BIN it always comes back and I can not delete System Volume Information. I tried to format my external hard drives, but it always comes back. Appreciate if you could help me to identify if there is a virus or not. Thank you very much.

Hi reo99

It is normal that the files to be present on all fixed drives and partitions. You cannot permanently delete. This is normally hidden system files. It is possible that you make them visible somehow.

I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below and check.
a. you can open anywhere on the disc and click organize.
b. now, select folder and search options and click on the view tab in any drive
c. now check the box against Hide protected operating system filesunder the subtitle of hidden files and folders. Click Ok

I hope this helps.

    Hello

These 2 files are normal for any installation of Windows.

$recycle.bin contains data relating to the trash and the System Volume information contains the Restore Points to restore the system on each disk.

Normally, these folders are hidden by default.

In file Explorer, click the view tab in the Ribbon toolbar.

In the Options Menu, select folder and search options.

In the Folder Options window, select the view tab.

Select the option do not show hidden files, folders, and drives.

    Click apply/OK.

  • There are two folders in my D drive named a $RECYCLE. BIN and an other named 'System volume information' is thease records a part of the activity of any virus?

I just want to know is the two folders named "$RECYCLE." BIN and System volume information"in my drive D is a part of a virus activity because when I remove the trash to the folder it disappears, and when I try to delete the other folder recycle comes back and I can't remove to access the second folder named, the system volume information?
    Please help me.

    concerning

These are the two typical Windows system folders. $Recycle.bin is exactly that, the files in the folder are actually moved to when removing other parts of the car. He installed this folder on each drive that you see when you open the Recycle bin icon on the desktop.

System Volume Information is a system folder and contains all the files that reside on the disk that are included in food, distributed link tracking Service points, content indexing Services and Volume Snapshot Service. This deletion would be a very good way to break your computer.

You deleted the parameter Hide protected system files that should never be done unless you have a specific reason to do so. The setting is there for a reason.

  • "$RECYCLE." BIN"and"System Volume Information"hidden folder created in each drive

I got 15 HP r014tx Notebook in which "$RECYCLE." BIN"and"System Volume Information"folder created in each player automatically hidden name. It didn't get deleted if I try to remove it. I use McAfee Anitvirus come with pre-installed with 30-day track.

I want to know how to remove this folder "$RECYCLE." BIN"and"System Volume Information"hidden folder name.

    rhl_yadav,

It is IMPORTANT that you do not delete these files. They are very important to the operating system.

    Instead, you can hide:

    • Open the Options folder by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, appearance and personalization, and then clicking Folder Options.
    • Click the view tab.
    • Under Advanced settings, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" and "Hide protected operating system files ' are not checked, and then click OK.

  • System volume information stolen hard drive. VERY slow computer and windows show only (not answer) for 2 to 10 seconds at a time. Help, please.

After starting my computer to Windows 7 Enterprise, I noticed that it runs very slowly.  for example, the scrolling of a window of firefox crashes every 10 seconds or more.  The gel lasts between 2 and 10 seconds with the little blue wheel, spinning, (not answer) in the toolbar.

I pulled the top of resource monitor and to see that 4 PID - C:\System Volume Information\ {guid} {guid} is running non-stop with about 720ko read by writing dry and 6 MB per second Disk 0 length of the queue is pegged at 5.  from time to time (once every 10 to 15 minutes), the queue goes to 0 and the computer starts acting normally (i.e. fast) again.  But once the length of the queue points to 5, the problems continue.

I am running in raid 5.

I noticed that vssvc.exe is running (PID 4144) with a reference to c:\System Volume Information and the same GUID as PID 4 - system and kernel.

Any idea what I can do to get back on my computer?  At this point, it is absolutely unusable.

    Thank you

  • the System volume information folder size is 834 gb in my 1 TB external hard drive

    834 GB!

    pls help me out here

Wait for the BitLocker encryption to finish. It does get rid of data left behind from deleted files. The 6 GB is left to allow you to continue working while encryption is performed.

  • Loss of disk space available every day as System Volume Information folder is the largest on my hard drive

My PC is under Windows7 Home Premium... version 6.1... Build 7601... service pack 1.

I have a 1 TB hard drive... 3 weeks ago, I've had approximately 813 gb free space... now, I have only 603 gb of free space. I noticed that the folder System Volume Information is passed to 209,53 Go. Don't know why this issue became so great. I lost about 5 to 20 GB of free space on the hard disk every day.

The System Volume Information folder is the largest on my hard drive... Users folder is 43.38 GB... Windows folder is 31.89 GB... WinSxS folder is 15,18 GB.

I installed a couple of applications in the last 6 months... Driver booster... Download App... and size of file.

I didn't save my PC in the last 3 weeks because of this problem.

The only application that I use for backup is MotoCast USB... it creates a backup of the SD card in my smartphone to my PC.  I've been backup card SD in my phone every 3-4 weeks for the past 2 years but never lost so much hard drive space until the last 3 weeks.

  • SYSTEM VOLUME INFORMATION & BASKET IN EACH DRIVE

Hi, I use windows 8, in my newly purchased ACER netbook. After that I plugged into a USB port, I scanned the USB drive and found no virus. But after the transfer of some files, I noticed that every reader of my netbook shows two hidden files named "System Volume Information" & "Recycle Bin". It seems strange to me to have these hidden files in each car. However, if I mark on the option "Hide protected files" from the "folder option" in the Panel, they are not shown. My problem is that when I tried the solution of it on the internet, some websites it indicated that the presence of the virus in my pc. I want to know if it has nothing to do with the virus. I expect to correct information and the help of who knows this subject. Thanks in advance. :)

It is not a virus, it is mandatory for all drives NTFS have these records.  You should go into your Folder Options and click on "Hide protected operating system files" so that they are invisible and cannot be accidentally touched.

How to format a hard drive when you're locked volume popups?

Looks like you are trying to format the disk that contains the system volume of in WinXP.  You can not.  It would be the computer equivalent of sawing off the branch of the tree, you sit and WinXP is "too smart" to enable this.

After saving all the data you want to transfer to the new installation of the OS, simply boot from the Windows XP installation CD.  You will be offered the possibility to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the installation process. (You may need to rearrange the order of the boot devices in the PC BIOS to boot from the CD.)

  • How to format my hard drive as my operating system running IM?

How to format my hard drive as my operating system running IM? I tried many ways must my computer tells me I have to stop all programs that I have running. play help as soon as possible!

Some PC contains a hidden hard disk restore partition. If yours is one of them, this is how you return your PC to its original state.

What is the brand and model of your PC?

Yet, this is a pretty drastic step. There is more easy and faster to improve performance. If you do not want to give it a shot, let us know. And also tell us the specifications of your PC, type of XP, SP, etc.

Also, you might find follows her beneficial:

Here are the usual causes of slow:

    1. malware (malware). You need to rule out first! This page has excellent information:

    http://Web.archive.org/Web/20080610163247/http :// www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

    2. some programs aimed at combating malware (for example, Norton and McAfee). Ironically, they can slow things down because they use simply much too many resources. Sometimes they cause conflicts with other programs. And their default mode is to scan your entire hard drive whenever you start. Fortunately, there are other programs of anti-malware software available that use much less resources (p. ex., NOD32, Avast and Avira).

    3. too much of certain types of programs still running in background - with or without your consent. (Then again, a lot of programs running in the background of the consequences trivial.)

To determine each program and process, you are running, use the task (Ctrl + Alt + Delete) Manager and click the processes tab. You should be able to sort by CPU usage or memory usage for a good ideas that are resource/memory hogs. You must write the names of all the processes for future detective work (or take a snapshot and print it).

Use these sites to determine what these programs are, and learn how configure them to not always run when starting:

    http://www.PACS-portal.co.UK/startup_content.php#THE_PROGRAMS
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/
    http://www.AnswersThatWork.com/Tasklist_pages/Tasklist.htm

Sometimes, it is recommended to use msconfig to configure programs to run at startup. A better, more thorough program is Autoruns:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

But before that, you must use the settings preference of the program in question. Otherwise, for some programs, they will return to the list of startup anyway!

If you do not want to use msconfig, it can be accessed in this way:

Start | Run | Type "msconfig" (without the quotes). Enter (or OK)

    4. not enough RAM, causing the PC too rely on the pagefile. A quick way to determine if what is happening is to open (Ctrl + Alt + Delete) Task Manager, and then click the performance tab. Then the three values under Commit Charge (k) Note: in the lower left corner: Total, limit and peak.

The Total number represents the amount of memory you are using right now. The vertex figure represents the maximum amount of memory you made since the last boot. If these figures are lower than the value of the amount of physical memory (K), then you probably have lots of RAM. In case you want to study it more, you can run the Page queue Monitor for Windows XP:

    http://www.dougknox.com/XP/utils/xp_pagefilemon.htm

    5. you can also verify that the access mode of your hard drive has not changed from DMA to PIO:
