  I just installed a new black cartridge (made by HP) what print quality became poor in the middle of a job.  He completed the job just fine, but when I tried to print later, the parts of the document that are in color/black and white will be printed.  Black is simply absent from the document.  the level of supply shows as thin and all the diagnostics indicate that there is no probem.  I have not received the error messages.  I tried to turn the printer power switch.  I tried to clean the print heads.  I tried to uninstall & reinstall the cartridge.  I do not have the black cartridges extra to try to see if that does not solve the problem, but as stated above, it worked at first.  I have just printed on ordinary regular white printer paper.  I tried all the relevant measures in the troubleshooting document of poor mailed print quality HP elsewhere on this page.  nothing worked!  another post mentioned someone resetting the printer, but did not say how it was done.  any ideas on a solution?   To reset the printer, follow these steps:

  While the unit is turned on, remove the power cord at the back of the printer. Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug the power cord to the back of the printer, then turn on the device. That will complement a power reset.

  Now, lack of black printing can be the result of a number of things. If it's only missing say when printing from Word, then print settings in Word are set to grayscale only (or something similar) which would exclude the black cartridge. If all programs, so it's either the main print in grayscale settings only the value or the cartridge/print head is blocked to the top/Sales. If this isn't the print settings, then create a report of print quality and follow the steps described in this document:

  I'm retiring my all-in-one HP Photosmart C3140 printer/scanner. Is there a way to reset it completely, reformat or erase all the settings and memory on the machine, especially all preliminary scans?

  I scanned documents with the bank details, social security numbers, etc. on the device, and want to be sure, that it is perfectly clean before giving. (That, or I guess I'll take a hammer to the old fashioned way!)

  I understand that, with the combo, pack of ink you bought came with a Photo black cartridge, and you're wanting to use it in your printer. In regards to your printer, it is not compatible with the black cartridge Photo, both black and Photo black cartridges are not interchangeable.   All-in-one HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m we recently had to ge to a new Westell router for the wireless. the printer connects when we put the password but anytime the commection to the router go out it will not reconnect until the password is released. He seems to forget the password.  System indicates that the software is up to date for the printer.

  Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you have recently changed your wireless router and now when he loses the connection, you must enter the password on your HP Photosmart C309g to reconnect to the wireless network.   HP PSC 1317 all-in - One Printer driver Windows 7 64 bit does not.  I tried to install the driver after the incredibly long download (362 MB) to be told by windows that there is no driver.  I have uninstalled the software 3 times and reinstalled.  I unplugged, disconnected, re-downloaded and re-installed.  I downloaded the 64 bit vista drivers (they do not work).  I came to your site to seek support that is denied to me because the printer is out of warranty.  Unless, of course, I want to pay for it.  Which I did, after spending a considerable time (see above) trying to get it work on Windows 7.  Last thing to install on another machine, which I just do exactly the same result, and no sign of anyone else having the same problem everywhere.

  Now what can I do to get this printer to work?

  

  I solved this by using Windows update, which then installed a driver in the end.

  This was not a great experience.

  Why have a download for the version of 64-bit Windows 7 for this printer that puts all the other bloatware of HP but does not contain any driver.  Then you perform the update from Microsoft to get a signed HP driver?  Why can't the HP driver actually be content in the download presumed HP so you can Dodge all the crap software I just uninstall anyway.  A huge waste of time and effort.  Two weeks to solve a problem that should have been done in twenty minutes.

  Not good PR client on any level.

  I have the same problem with. Recording with my camera JVC Everio MOD files.

  The problem is that. MOD files. All thumbnails of film appears correctly.

  I have not had the problem on Windows 7, but my new 8.1 Windows based PC does not display thumbnails for previews. MOD files... but the other movie previews shows correctly. 'Show thumbnails instead of icons' is checked.

  Can anyone help?
